Theta Pi Sigma, LGBT Fraternity, Comes To University of Maryland

The University of Maryland is welcoming its first and one of the nation's first LGBT fraternities this semester, The Diamondback reports.

Students behind the Epsilon chapter of Theta Pi Sigma, a gender-neutral coed organization,say that their main mission in coming to College Park is to create an accepting space for the LGBT community within campus greek life.

"It's open to people who want to get involved on campus and feel like a traditional fraternity or sorority isn't for them," chapter secretary Shira Steinberg told The Diamondback.

If they want to be queer or do weird stuff that's their business as long as they don't bother others. Why do they make such a big deal of it? If any other fraternity came to campus everybody would just yawn. It's almost like they are issuing a dare for anyone to disapprove in any way like, "Hey, I'm queer and I dare you to say anything about it!"

Yep, that would be something I am proud of. I smoke White Owls or I lick linoleum. Something to be really proud of. NOT!!

If it was a CHRISTIAN fraternity or sorority, I bet they would not allow it. Or a Tea Party..or Republican...or gun owner...have to get rid of anything considered a "terrorist" threat by our own government

546 seems to me their are plenty of faith-based groups, young republicans, and other examples of the groups you named on US college campuses. try again but this time, stick to the facts.
