House Votes To Delay Parts Of Health Care Law

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Republican-led House voted on Wednesday to delay core provisions of President Barack Obama's health care law, emboldened by the administration's concession that requiring companies to provide coverage for their workers next year may be too complicated.

After a day of heated rhetoric, the House voted largely along party lines, 264-161, to delay by one year the so-called employer mandate of the Affordable Care Act. It voted 251-174 to extend a similar grace period to virtually all Americans who will be required to obtain coverage beginning Jan. 1, the linchpin of the law.

The dual political-show votes marked the 38th time the GOP majority has tried to eliminate, defund or scale back the unpopular law since Republicans took control of the House in January 2011. The House legislation stands no chance in the Democratic-run Senate.

smoke and mirror... I promise you this...

this is a way to move the health care back so it WILL NOT HURT THE DEM-O-RATS in the MID TERM ELECTIONS FOR THE HOUSE...

NOT IF< BUT ONCE THE DEM-o-RATS WIN THE HOUSE, its over AMERICA WHAT WILL STOP THEM FROM THAT POINT ON? NOTHING...

LEGALLY NOTHING WILL STOP THEM, the cops follow their lead, the military follows their lead, senators and congress follows their lead and even the attorney general follows the lead... SO ONCE THE DEMS WIN THE HOUSE what are you going to do then?

All you have left is to be their slave or fight... and at that point the only fighting you can do is with guns... That is why they want to take them away from us...

Look at the swiss, EVERYONE HAS A GUN BY LAW and no or low crime, yet look at chicago, NOTHING BUT GUN CONTROL and everyone is dying and its a war zone...

CRY ME A RIVER AND COMPLAIN ON A BLOG THINKING IT WILL FIX SOMETHING AND SOMEHOW A KNIGHT WILL COME IN FIXING THE PROBLEMS>?

well your an idiot...

The republicans (the house) voted the delay. did u even read the article? It stated that the vote was largely along party lines, republicans.
What I found more amusing by the propaganda media machine that now suddenly it is referred to as "the unpopular law".
Last I heard everyone was all for this wonderous disaster TAX.
