Report: MD Among Top Five States With Most Guns Lost Or Stolen

A new report from the ATF shows that Maryland is among the top five states with the greatest number of guns lost or stolen from federally licensed gun dealers last year.

More than 880 guns were lost in Maryland and dealers reported 98 were stolen in 2012.

The report comes after Maryland's General Assembly toughened the state's gun laws and as President Obama continues to push Congress for stronger laws at the federal level in the wake of the mass shootings in Newtown and Colorado.

The ATF says that Maryland comes in third in the nation with the most guns lost or stolen from federally licensed gun dealers in 2012. Pennsylvania came in first followed by Texas. New York and Georgia round out the top five states.

Thank goodness we tightened our gun laws, putting more of an aim on criminals who would steal a gun, or use one unlawfully.
