Large Tornado Hits Suburb Of Oklahoma City

A massive tornado estimated to be at least two miles wide plowed through Moore, Oklahoma, in the southern part of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. The tornado is still moving across other counties.

Two schools were hit. Search and rescue teams are at both sites. We understand some children have been pulled out alive, and teachers, but it’s not clear how many more are in the rubble. Many schools had kept children inside, not dismissing due to the dangerous weather.

Hundreds of homes and buildings were also hit, as well as family farms. Emergency crews are in many areas working to get to survivors as quickly as possible. Some structures are on fire, and there are several large masses of metal and debris to sort through.

Of all things to say yesterday,Obama promised OK help, but then added that assistance would be made available to take care of the paperwork involved.Just imagine mentioning paperwork at a time like this.
