Dog Found 5-4-13 UPDATE

A small dog was found going down Adkins Road from Waller Road late afternoon yesterday May 3rd. He is very friendly. He has tags but they are from his vets office who is closed today. If you know the owner of this dog, please call 443-735-8406 and identify.

Most vets have an emergency number for call back so I am sure they won't mind helping you find the owner of one of their patients.

There is a short black dog hanging around the Elmer's Tastee Freeze. No collar and won't come to anyone. Seems hungry. We called the Humane Society and they will not come get him so told us to call city police for animal control. The city police said if he is not agressive there is nothing they can do because it is the weekend. What!?

I doubt anybody will claim it.

You know this is really a rediculous situation with Animal Control & the Humane Society.

Dog running at large----can get killed or cause possible accident---who's suppose to help???
I'd like an answer

the situation has nothing to do with the humane society--read the location--it is in the city limits of Salisbury which is handled by City of Salisbury Animal Control--call the Mayor

The mayor? He isn't going to do anything, it may mean he would have to put his drink down. This has been an issue for YEARS. The laws are a joke and Animal Control is a joke. Its up to animal lovers to resolve the situations on their own. It was your election to lose. Welcome to the continued consequences.

Last time I checked it was the Wicomico County Humane Society and Salisbury is in Wicomico County. The Humane Society gets funding from Wicomico County tax payers therefor Salisbury tax payers are paying for the Humane Society.

Folks, if you are members of the Humane Society, please attend their first open meeting in two years. It is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 21. Ask questions about funds, expenses and experience/salary of the director. Then ask the County Council to require an accounting of how their funds are being spent by the Humane Society. It is true that the whole budget of HSWC is not supplied by the taxpayer, but the part that is should be subject to close examination.
