Costco Sample-Server Fatally Shot After Pulling Knife In Store

A Virginia woman hired to hand out pizza samples at Costco was fatally shot yesterday by a sheriff’s deputy after she began acting strangely and brandishing a knife in the store.
According to the Washington Post, the 38-year-old woman — an employee of Club Distribution Services, a third-party company contracted by Costco to hand out food samples — began acting erratically toward the end of her Wednesday afternoon shift. The store manager tells the Post the woman was overly concerned about the number of servings per pizza box and that she was saying “crazy things.”

hmmmmm, the woman was likely mentally ill. You mean to tell me cops didn't have any nonlethal means to take her down? It was a knife, and probably a crap knife, not a machine gun.

1050-She allegedly charged the two officers while brandishing a lethal weapon. Saves on court costs.

Posting before it's revealing she had a plastic knife for cutting fake meat product to serve. Taser? Night Stick? Brute force, as it is a woman? Holy balls, this world is getting crazy. Who can be trusted anymore?

"possibly a pair of scissors"? So much for fully recognizing the threat before using lethal force.
I wasn't there, so I'll make no assumption, but like the Texas story, 72 year old man on his own turf gunned down by arriving police. No assessment there, either.

1239-I'm a Costco member, I've never ONCE seen samplers use a plastic knife. Most times, they use a Dexter Russell, a knife that's made in the USA and is known for it's durability. As for "fake meat product", sorry Costco is not Wal-Mart. There's a reason the products cost more, it's quality.

Cops did use a taser... But it still seems like it could have been handled differently.
