Over that time I’ve had the opportunity to knock on thousands of doors, meet thousands of my Salisbury neighbors, and present a vision for the FUTURE of Salisbury. That campaign ends today. TOGETHER we can show our existing businesses that Salisbury is a place to grow and to provide more jobs in our community. TOGETHER we can show potential new employers that Salisbury is a GREAT PLACE TO CALL HOME!
There’s an old saying – “A rising tide lifts all boats.” By attracting new employers and encouraging our existing job creators that Salisbury is THE PLACE to call home, we will improve our QUALITY of LIFE without breaking the fiscal bank! I am Jake Day's age and will not be jumping on the band waggon like many othere people my age. Salisbury needs proven leaders and business minded Individuals. If Day wins today the people will be looking at a 50 - 60% raise in taxes. If you can't afford to pay the taxes you will have someone else living in your home. Probably a renter from SU. We have Chicago politics happening right here in Salisbury.

I hope you can change this Joe, just looked on Zillow this morning and they have predicted all of Salisbury's property to drop 2.6% this year, my house value in the city keeps dropping so much the graph looks like a vertical wall!
The value of my house is almost back to the same that I bought it for back in 2003, and I have dumped $30K into it!
I hope you can work with Salisbury Neighborhood or someone else to get some Homeowners back in the city, maybe then more people would vote.

The post card or phone call didn't mention Joe Albero at all so you are a liar!! Jim Ireton sent out and email yesterday on the Maryland Democrat Party letter head with and "endorsement" from Martin O'Malley. Why doesn't he consider this an outside force and partisan politics? Voters Be on the Lookout for Robo-Calls by Congressman Andy Harris in Support of Joe Albero - These calls are paid for by the Maryland Republican Party and have no place in Salisbury's municipal election. These calls, and the negative campaign mailer that dropped into residential mailboxes last week are examples of outside forces trying to influence this election. Mayor Ireton's record speaks volumes to these attacks.

To those big Jake Day supporters out there do you think he will be able to fulfill his job as a city council member if elected? If you remember reading the Daily Times article when he commented about his numerous speeding tickets he blamed it on having to drive 65 miles a day to work each way. If that is the case do you think he will be able to take off every single day there is a work session? Do you think his employer will allow him that much time off. Think about it, that is 130 miles a day which means he is on the road over 2 1/2 hours every day. There are a lot of work sessions and budget work sessions coming up very soon. I doubt seriously he will be able to participate in the work sessions. Work, Court, National Guard duties? How can he make that commitment. It is quite obvious that Jim Ireton picked Jake Day to be his Rubber Stamper at the night meetings if he can make it. Jake Day is a bad choice. You talk about grid lock, it will always be a 2 to 2 vote because Jake day will rarely be at the meetings. Don't be stupid on this one.

Firefighters are telling everyone that Joe is going to get rid of the paid fire fighters and they will all lose their jobs. Pathetic.
If Joe and Debbie don't win, I'm out of this town. The landlords will own one more home in Salisbury. I'll sell at a loss to get out.

I give up on Salisbury...I won't be far behind you on your way to NC...except I'll be going a bit further south. I'll miss your blog. And I'm sure the real estate people and liberals will be glad to see my registered democrat butt leave. Its just a little too far left for even me to stand around here. Salisbury has officially committed suicide. Thankful we got out of that city. Heartfelt thanks to Joe and Debbie for their genuine efforts to try and save the City.

I have no idea how many people are eligible to vote in Salisbury but if only about 2,500 voted it seems like a very low percentage. No wonder the entire country is going to hell. The folks with brains are apparently letting the idiots elect all of our representatives. Our system is broken and beyond repair I'm afraid.
