State Police Detectives Investigating A Sexual Assault In Laurel Area

Location: County Seat Highway (US9), east of Sussex Highway (US13), Laurel, DE

Date of Occurrence: Thursday April 25, 2013 between 12:00 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.

Victim:

17 year old female, Laurel, DE

Suspect and Charges:

Black male, average size, clean shaven, wearing eyeglasses (no further physical or clothing description available).
Silver four door passenger vehicle with a white license plate. Unknown State.

Laurel, DE- The Delaware State Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred in the area of Laurel.

Detectives from Troop 4 in Georgetown began a sexual assault investigation early Thursday morning after a seventeen year old female reported she was struck by a vehicle while walking on County Seat Highway (US9) approximately one and a half miles east of Sussex Highway (US13). The operator of the vehicle then returned to the scene and forcibly placed her into his vehicle before driving her to an undisclosed location in Laurel where she was physically and sexually assaulted. The female was then driven back to the area of her house in Laurel by the suspect where she was freed. She was later taken by EMS to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a black male, average in statue, clean shaven, and wearing eyeglasses. The suspect's vehicle was described to be a silver four door passenger vehicle bearing a white license plate out of an unknown state.
