Gas Tax Approved By House; Walkout, Complaints Follow Vote

The Maryland House of Delegates has approved a transportation tax bill that will increase taxes on gasoline, as well as vehicle registration fees and mass transit fares.

The money is earmarked mainly for road, bridge and mass transit projects

A number of Republicans who opposed the bill, complained that Speaker Michael Busch locked the voting board before lawmakers could either cast their vote, change their vote on the bill, or explain how they voted to their colleagues.

Republicans asked for another vote.

So Republicans think it was unfair? Wake up people, nothing is fair when it comes to Democrats. Please publish the votes of Cane Mathias & Conway.

Since they had enough urban votes, the rural delegates were allowed to vote no if they felt the people they represent would be against this bill in order to save face. Too late for our lackeys!!

I'm really sick of our legislators in Annapolis. They forget about the Eastern Shore except to go to their condos on the way to the beaches.
The only thing we can count on from them is lies, lies, lies. Oh, and let's not forget the endless handshakes at ralleys, picnics, slaps on the back, picture taking, BBQ's, fund-raisers.
Until I see them working for me on the shore, they can forget my vote and my donations.

Glad that passed! now, motor oil, then Anti- freeze, brake fluid, hey!. I know!, transmission fluid! Hey, what about rear axle grease, or grease jobs in general? YEAH!

Shocks, brake pads, water, air, windshield wiper fluid, gosh! I can't wait to pay!
Now, lets move on to airlines, bus companies, motorcycles. lawn mowers, Barbie dolls......

Welcome to Maryland! Bring me your wallet and I'll tell you what you have left!
