Congress Is Urging The TSA To Keep Banning All Knives On Airplanes

The Hill reports, 133 House members have signed a letter to Administrator John Pistole. In it, they say they support a risk-based approach to security, but this isn't it. One lead author, Rep. Michael Grimm (R-N.Y.) has called the TSA's decision "borderline idiotic." Another, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) is sponsoring legislation to give a TSA advisory panel more authority. The agency did not consult the panel before it announced it would let passengers bring small knives and bats on board. Another bill would block the new policy altogether.

Can anyone tell me why we still have TSA? They have stopped nothing. They groped everybody. If the hijackings were done with boxcutters (1" blade max) this new rule nullifies the core reason for their own creation, which, to me, tells me they are asking to be disbanded. Good idea! They serve no useful purpose.

Issue everyone on the plane who wants one a pistol loaded with a proper round for the airplane interior environment. They turn them in at the end of the flight.

NOBODY WOULD DARE HIJACK A PLANE WITH THIS IN PLACE!

Everybody has a gun, whether in town or on the plane makes for a very polite society@ Wanna try me?

And who appointed the head of the TSA? Does that answer your Question?

As a security professional, I can assure you that allowing small knives as proposed will not have any effect on security. The cockpits are locked and the pilots will not open the door. The greater risk is the minimum wage airport employee that could be bribed or bought to assist in allowing a bomb to get past security and loaded on the a plane. TSA screenings are solely to make the general public think that they are safe.

The government has successfully brainwashed the public out of their rights.

Tempest in a teapot. A real security force that is unfettered by political correctness would be a much more useful security tool. (Looking for young middle eastern Muslims, clean shaven, muttering Allah, Allah, etc).
