Resume:
Rehoboth Beach, DE- The Delaware State Police have arrested a man from Bear after he was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol for the 6th time.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:15 a.m. this morning as a trooper on routine patrol observed an SUV stopped at the traffic light of northbound Coastal Highway (SR1) and John J. Williams Highway (SR24) make an illegal U-turn and drive southbound in the northbound lanes. The trooper, who was already traveling in the southbound lanes of SR1, shadowed the vehicle as it crossed over the concrete median and back into the southbound lanes. As the trooper activated the emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop, the SUV turned west onto Old Landing Road and then pulled into the Wal-Mart parking lot and came to a stop. The operator, who was later identified at Jeffrey W. Barnes, 39 of Bear, exited the vehicle and attempted to flee, but was taken into custody by the trooper after a short foot pursuit.

Barnes was taken back to Troop 7 in Lewes where a DUI investigation ensued. A computer check revealed he had five previous DUI convictions (12/15/06, 04/25/03, 1/15/99, 02/01/97, and 06/06/96); this arrest would make #6.

Jeffrey W. Barnes was formally charged with Felony DUI along with various other traffic offenses and committed to SCI on $9,400.00 secured bond after being arraigned at JP3.

SIX priors and he still had a license??? And I also bet you believe our "leaders", including judges, prsecutors AND the politicians are CONCERNED about our SAFETY??? Really?? Is that belief absolutely, incredibly stupid or off the charts naive? It is about NOTHING but the fines, fees, insurance rates, and attorney charges. Did I mention the primacy of the money? Keep voting for the guy who can lie with the straightest face. HE is REALLY worried about your "safety". He's all ya got now....

Yeah, and his convictions are relativity close to each one. It does't list driving with a suspended or revoked license so we can assume he has a valid license, unless that charge is listed in 'various other traffic offenses'.

And were all the DUI's committed in one state.

It would appear this guy has a problem.
