Weaver put realistic-looking rubber turtles, no bigger than a saucer, in the middle of a lane on a busy road near campus. Then he got out of the way and watched as over the next hour, seven drivers intentionally ran over the turtle, and several more appeared to try to hit the defenseless animal, but missed.
"It was a bit surprising. I've heard of people and from friends who knew people that ran over turtles. But to see it out here like this was a bit shocking," said Weaver, a 22-year-old senior in Clemson's School of Agricultural, Forest and Environmental Sciences.

Sometimes human beings are the most horrible evil things God ever created just look at Adam Lanza and all the other other crazies out there including the all the libtards who want to disarm the law abiding citizens, any how rant over.
When ever I see a turtle on the road if I can safely stop, I get the turtle and take it to the other side of the ride where it was headed to help it out, tried that with a snapper one day, got him there just wasn't as easy. LOL
It's not just turtles and many people have dark souls. You see it all over the shore. Racoons Fox Opposum and even dogs and cats. People seem to take pleasure in running them down. It is sick and sad. If they will do this to animals why do we wonder about all the awful things people do to other people.
While I dont try and run over an animal, if its in front me I will not swerve to miss it. Swirving is the worse you can do as you are my likely to cause an accident to yourself or someone else.
I can think of a better experiment - place a rubber O'Malley or O'bama in the middle of the road and see what happens!
