Judge Sentences Ohio Man to 29 Days in Jail for Imitating Disabled Girl's Limp

In an apparent case of rudeness being elevated to criminality, a 43-year-old Ohio man has been sentenced to 29 days in jail for mocking a ten-year-old girl with cerebral palsy.

Canton (Ohio) Municipal Judge John A. Poulos ordered the maximum sentence for William Bailey, who pleaded no contest Tuesday to reduced misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and aggravated menacing, the Associated Press reported.

According to the The (Canton) Repository, Bailey was captured on a cellphone video imitating the way the girl, who uses crutches and has trouble walking.

This is ugly but unless he actually harmed her don't we have something called free speech.

He pleaded no contest to REDUCED charges sooooo...I guess this wouldn't fall under freedom of speech.

Unless of course you know more than the judge that was actually INVOLVED with the case.

What maggot would say this is protected speech?

Someone should write freedom of speech on a 2x4 and let him have it.

You don't think this HARMED the TEN YEAR OLD HANDICAPPED GIRL?!

Prime example of what is wrong with this country and the world.

Lack of common sense, compassion and humanity.

This is not a criminal offense! He should not have even been prosecuted. On the other hand it is reprehensible and he does deserve to be beaten and left for dead!

Obviously, the da., the judge and the accused, in OHIO disagree with you.

AND he pleaded to LESSER charges. That means boys and girls, that he was charged with even higher charges.

How something can make its way thru a court of law, from trial to sentencing, and then have it announced it was not a criminal offense to begin with!

Boy, heads should roll. You would think that the D.A. and the judge would know what the laws on the books are and how they are to be applied.

Someone, even from another state, should let the governor of Ohio know that they have imbeciles and impostors practicing law in one of his court rooms.

I would bet that is illegal too. The nerve of some people.

Start a petition! We must end this farce, at once!

And then the dang fool went and apologized to the very ones he was menacing. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.

In June, Bailey was convicted of aggravated menacing in an unrelated matter and served 10 days in jail, Stark County court records show.

Well dang, there's that law again, that doesn't make anything a crime.

They just use them left and right up there in Ohio don't they?

If I were that guy, I would start leaving people alone and not do these types of things that get me convicted of criminal charges that are really not criminal charges.

Boy, it's starting to get confusing here. I think I'll just let the judge handle it. After all, he went to college to learn how and he even gets paid to do it.

Why should I, or anyone, do it for free?

Yessir, there sure are some dumb people in Ohio. They plead guilty to things that are not even illegal. lol.

Is that enough ridicule for these dumb clucks Joe?

Oh good god, something else to jam up the Supreme Court docket. This guy is probably too stupid to recognize a gold mine when he sees it.Any intelligent attorney would jump all over this like white on rice.Huge settlement potential with very little work!
