Although some recently trapped coyotes in Worcester County had eaten kittens and at least one cat, people should not be unduly alarmed, according to a state wildlife expert.
Anyone who sees a coyote should realize “they are just another part of nature,” said Denny Price, a wildlife technician with the Wildlife and Heritage Division of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, on Wednesday.
In some cases, they can become a nuisance.
In September, an owner of property near Showell Elementary School saw coyotes on his land and contacted his caretaker, who contacted Gene Garrett, a Willards resident who has a license to trap nuisance animals and is a director of the National Trappers Association.

DNR Relocated coyotes to the Easternshore years ago that's your culprit and if you see a fews, hide your pets!
There was one living in the Melson/Rum Ridge Road area of Delmar Md.

No there isn't. If you see one there are many. Never just one.
And they eat your chickens, young goats, small dogs, cats, and will attack your children if they are hungry. They are a predator that we are not really accustomed to. Kill every one of them you can.
Seems to me if they are eating pets,they ARE already a nuisance!
dnr has also relocated snakes...we don't need more of.
I would like to know what kind of snakes the DNR relocated, I pray not poisonous ones. What was the public not notified of these relocates?
