Yeah. The Chincoteague Causeway is closed and their police officers are being transported to calls by National Guard Duece and a Halfs. Everyone on the Island is trapped there until this is over. The Island is predicted to be completely flooded over soon. High tide is still 1 1/2 hours off.
I am heartbroken. Someone said the pic with the pier gone is photoshopped?
Thanks Joe for covering the storm for us. No one at WBOC or WMDT could make it down there I guess. What a missed opportunity for them to get some national exposure! Saw Ocean City and Rehobeth on TV covered by FOX news this am, and even CBS on their Morning Show in New York had coverage. National broadcasters at this major event and no locals, Typical.
Better get those benches off the Boardwalk. FoxNews national just shot live from OC and the benches have shifted north. Fencing in front of the Marriot has also collasped. I'm not sure that says much for whomever designed such a rickety thing for oceanfront. It's one of those post things with see through material in between.
The pier picture is for real, its been reported by WJZ local news near where I live. The furthest point of the pier has fallen off
