Federal Grant To Restore Historic Slave Cabin

The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded a $195,000 grant to restore a historic slave cabin on the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Sen. Barbara Mikulski and Sen. Ben Cardin made the announcement Friday.

$196000. to rebuild a shackYou can build them a new one for about $50. What's wwrong with them people?

Just curious, why would it cost $195,000 to restore a slave cabin? What is the plan for that project? Visitor center, parking lot, power, rest room facilities, signs?

$196,000.00 isn't even close to what the State of Maryland has planned to spend on "Harriet Tubman".
