A Little Effort Goes A Long Way

As many of you know, last week I went out on a mission to clean up Rt. 50 as best as I could. The intent was not only to help Salisbury look a lot better, the hope in the end was to get people involved.

I'm pleased to say I received several e-mail messages from private citizens fully willing to join me in that quest, thank you.

What your about to see below is a wonderful thing. My hat is tipped to Perdue and the SHA for stepping up and helping out.

The SHA were able to bring in pre relase prisoners to mow and weed whack near the Draw Bridge and I was told they'll move further up on Rt. 50 to work on the Downtown area as well today.

Perdue also stepped up fixing the leaning fence as shown below. Thank You!

Before

After

TOGETHER we can make Salisbury beautiful again.

It just takes good examples and leadership.

Hooray for Perdue, pre-release and SHA and Joe - that's the way it should be, looks soooo much better.

Funny how one good turn leads to another. Now if the voters can make a good turn in voting OUT you know who, we'd be getting somewhere!

In all the years I've lived in this city I have never seen a mayor getting out and doing what you have done. Mr. Albero, you deserve a great deal of credit, as does Perdue, SHA, and the pre-release gentlemen. If you do this now and you are not the mayor, just think what positive opportunities you could bring to Salisbury as our next mayor. Great job!
The only time I've ever seen any mayor out is when they are stomping at election for votes.
You live up to your words. GOD BLESS

What a little effort can do. Thanks Joe.

Joe, What an example you set and if the folks don't elect you as the next Mayorof Salisbury then shame on them. Although I am a resident of Berlin, "lovely town" and a former Salisbury resident of Salisbury there is no doubt you will turn things around. Gone are the days when there were some truly active Mayors who cared about and worked for the betterment of the citizens of Salisbury. The likes of Paul Martin for one, good luck and expect you to be a shoe in.

I think with you giving recognition and thank you to the people involved in this clean up it may give others the incentive to continue this effort...

Looking good! You know most of the time someone like yourself needs to point these things out around town and they will most likely get taken care of.

Someone needs to put all prisoners to work cleaning up our towns and cities.

Wow. Perdue, with their hundreds of millions of dollars, ignores their property, in violation of city ordinances, for years. Then they get slave labor to fix their problems for free, and they get a pat on the back?

nothings good enough huh? if any if the parties involved had crapped golden eggs you'd complain because they weren't silver wouldn't you?? Is that area in better condition now? or do you prefer it the way it looked last week? Lets give thanks where it's deserved.....Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen involved! And keep up the good work..

Nice work and many thanks!!! Not only prettying up the place but teaching folks that working for something is better then complaining about it.

Anon 5:02pm, Perdue did their own work, the SHA got the prisoners. Get your facts straight.

GO JOE OMG

Hi Joe. You putting a 'spotlight' on some of these city deficiencies helped to correct them. You did MORE IN TWO DAYS than what some of our previous elected officials did over decade.

Thanks to you - it is starting to look nice around Salisbury.

I definitely have to tip my hat to you.

You know Jim will have a press conference to announce his Rt. 50 clean up project, citing how he reached out to SHA and Perdue!

anonymous 7:53, whatever it takes. As long as Rt. 13 and Rt. 50 are cleaned up, I don't care.

This is about what is best for ALL of us. If Jim wants to take creadit for it, so be it, seriously.

Maybe Jim can learn from this, if he's big enough?
