f you're one of those people who complain that there’s nothing to watch on TV today even though you have a gazillion channels, you’re not going to be happy with this news – turns out, you’re paying more for cable.
The monthly rate for pay TV has been rising at an average of 6 percent annually and hit $86 a month last year for basic pay and premium-channel TV, according to a reported released Tuesday by market research firm The NPD Group. The uptick in licensing fees - which are the fees cable and satellite providers pay for programs - is driving much of the increase, at a time when consumer household income has hardly budged.

We don't have cable or satellite TV, and make out just fine. We get 7 local digital channels and save a lot of money! :-)
where do u get the digital boxes?
no competion for cable makes for poor service in this area...comcast has very poor quality cable. the sound and picture is constantly interupted and they say there's no problem in the area. duh...
just checked my bill and it was almost 170 bucks for basic cable, internet and basic phone. i called comcast and they really didnt seem to care. i cancelled comcast tv and phone. as soon as i figure out a different internet that will be gone too.

We have Dish Network unlimited pack with all HBO,Starz,Cinemax,Flix,TMC,Showtime,Encore and 4 receivers and DVR we pay 144.10 a month. We are on price lock until 2012 it might go up after that but as far as we live away from town thats are pastime to watch TV.
