Justice Department Settles American Indian Tribe Case

The Justice Department settled a long-standing case brought by American Indian tribes.

The 41 tribes altogether will receive more than $1 billion. Some of their claims date back more than a century. The tribes said the Interior and Treasury departments mismanaged the money and natural resources held in trust for them. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said the settlements would strengthen the government's relationships with tribes.

The government, mainly through the work of the Interior Department and the Bureau of Indian Affairs, stole a WHOLE lot more than a paltry billions dollars, so for Ken Salazar to say this settlement will "improve relations" is like the slave owners saying they will "improve relations" with the slaves by not beating them as much.

Give me a billion dollars and it would strengthen my ties with the giver... After all this time the settlement is made in an election year. Do these indians vote??? I bet they will vote for Obama..

Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't the U.S. government broke EVERY promise and treaty they made with ANY Indian tribe?
