Marijuana Nearly Doubles Risk Of Collisions

Cannabis Affects Spatial Location, Study Finds

(CNN)
-- We hear a lot about the hazards of drunk driving, but here's something else to put on your radar: A study in the British Medical Journal found that marijuana nearly doubles the risk of vehicle collisions.

Researchers conducted a systematic review of nine studies on the subject of marijuana and driving accidents, which incorporated almost 50,000 participants.

Alcohol impairs drivers' speed and reaction time, while cannabis affects spatial location, said Mark Asbridge, associate professor in the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

I guess since the "it will turn you into a werewolf" story has been shown to be COMPLETELY untrue, and the "it will make you stupid" is clearly and unequivocally discredited, as is the "it will make you lazy" argument, and ditto for the "it leads to heroin and cocaine addcition", now I guess its time for "spatial location"'s turn at the wheel, so to speak. As in "I'm sorry, man. I didn't mean to spill the milk and cookies. I THOUGHT they were were closer to me. I guess my 'spatial location' is a little messed up right now. They are getting REALLY desperate to convince us that POT will lead to the end of civilization. Perhaps it will if given another 5000 years. Its a slow process. Give it time. Yeah. Yeah. THAT'S the ticket!!!

Legalize it like alcohol because people who are stupid need something else to blame their actions on, I don't care what it is if it changes your work habits, motorskills and communication it isn't good. Not matter what it is be responsible and if you drive you need to pay the band for the dance you'll do

Back in the day, 30 years ago, booze made me go over the speed limit and inaccurately a that. Pot made me go half the limit and want to get off the road asap! Pot leads to hard drugs only because you have to buy it at the hard drug store to get it. Yathink he's not going to expand on his sales? Ever met a car dealer?
