NYPD Facebook Probe Raises Free Speech Question

NEW YORK — The Facebook group was titled "No More West Indian Day Detail," referring to police patrol for a raucous annual Brooklyn parade.

Sprinkled among the frustrations aired about regulating the crowded, loud, often-violent event were comments that were more offensive. Some called the parade, held in a predominantly black neighborhood, "ghetto training" and a "scheduled riot." Others referred to participants as savages.

Those policemen are intolerant bigoted racial elitists. No wonder people are beginning to hate them and their unbridled abuse of power.
The contempt they show for Americans is astounding...

What is just as revolting is the TOLERANCE shown by their superiors for these kind of comments and behaviors. They (their commanders) are quite aware of the attitudes of their officers and excuse them, ignore them, or rationalize them. Of course, SOME commanders, like the NY police captain who (on video) thought it was funny to mace a group of unarmed and non-threatening women. Think "driving while black" is a RUMOR?? Black people (even rich, well to do black people) FEAR the police. They can (and DO) get killed for things like moving their head or turning around to ask the cop a question.

LOL um actually no they don't. Typical over reaction when anything has to do with the police.

5:23 must be a cop. Who doesn't talk to black people (unless he's got 'em in handcuffs). I don't want to enlighten you (ok , I DO), but there is VIDEO of cops shooting unarmed black people. You DID read about the convictions of the New Orleans cops blasting unarmed and non-threatening black people AND TRYING TO COVER IT UP! Oh you missed that? And cops shoot people by the hundreds EVERY YEAR. FACT. Backed up by POLICE RECORDS and court cases, many of which result in multi-million dollar awards -- because -- (and you can't LOL at this) -- they (the police) were WRONG. Maybe you could ask that Diallo guy in New York (a black man who reached for his wallet and was shot about 50 times), but he's dead. killed by cops. Unarmed. Not threatening. And yes. Black people FEAR the police. Ask one about what its like to be pulled over at night in Alabama. Or Georgia. Or Prince George's County (Maryland). Or in South East D.C. Or in Long Island, NY. YOU may haven't shot any black people yet, but give it time....and it will be "justified" by -- you guessed it -- the police. You can laugh now.
