National Passenger Carrier Strike Force Initiative

Resume:
Harrington-Delaware State Police along with other States across the country are working jointly with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in what is being deemed the “National Passenger Carrier Strike Force” that will take place from September 23, 2011 to October 7, 2011.  The Delaware State Police will conduct a sustained effort to conduct passenger carrier driver/vehicle inspections and related enforcement activities throughout the initiative period. 
 
The (FMCSA) began this initiative in the aftermath of the recent Motor Coach crashes in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania which claimed the lives of several passengers.   
 
The ultimate goal of FMCSA is for the safety of Motor Coach passengers as well as others who drive our nation’s highways alongside these Motor Coaches. 
 
On Friday, September 23, 2011 The Delaware State Police Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) will be conducting spot check inspections at the Harrington Fair Grounds on Motor Coaches after all passengers have disembarked.
