SARASOTA, Fla. — Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann said Sunday that she would consider oil and natural gas drilling in the Everglades if it can be done without harming the environment.
Bachman said the United States needs to tap into all of its energy resources no matter where they exist if it can be done responsibly.

There is no place in the US that should be off limits.
We are relying on foreign oil because of artificial restraints on producing our own.

Have you even looked at the data? The US has been one of the top oil producing nations for quite some time, yet we still have to import more foriegn oil than anyone in the world. This includes China which has a booming manufacturing sector and much higher pop. levels. Common sense says you can't drill your way out of the problem.

Every year oil companies find new places, but the envirowackos prevent accessing it.

The Everglades is one of the few most beautiful natural habitate left in the U. S. To "tap" into this area would be a nature's disaster. Government is killing this country. Maybe that's why the rich, big businesses and corporations are investing in other countries. This is another way to destroy this country.

US oil production in 2009 and 2011 was at it's highest since 2004; if your opinion was based on logic, don't you think we would have lower prodcution under Obama and his "envirowackos" who are "out to destroy the industry"?
If you look at our oil deficit (amount we have to import), we could import every barrel coming from the #1 world producer (Russia) and STILL COME UP SHORT an amount close to what we produce!
