Is Today A Holiday?

Or is Salisbury turning into the Ghost Town we talked about?

Its 8:30 AM on a Monday morning and you would think its a holiday.

For those who want to argue my point, don't you ever forget that we were the ones who brought this to your attention.

You see, many democrats have blinders on and think every day will be filled with rainbows with a pot of gold at the end. Do you see a rainbow?

I think it's so sad that Salisbury is the county seat of a 100,000-population county, and yet it looks like a ghost town. The mall and all the other development north of town are factors, of course, but many other cities/towns with malls also manage to have vibrant downtowns, filled with shops and pedestrians. So what makes the difference? I really have no answers. Maybe some others do.

too many regulations; taxes too high; parking meters = unfriendly business climate; hence no vision or future for our "once great city".

poor leadership......

All you have to do is look at the recent tax bill. Who wants to live in this god forsaken county? The value they are taxing us on is outrageous!! We all should leave!

Joe I had an office in 1 Plaza E about 20 years ago. Biggest complaint was you couldn't find a parking place. Many a time the garage and the library lot were full. Lunch time the Plaza was crowded; a line at the hot dog cart, folks waiting for a stool at Woolworth's, and the current restaurant in the City Center was busy. Have had to go downtown recently - unwillingly - and have been amazed at the total absence of activity. It's like one night they rolled the sidewalks up at 6 o'clock and forgot to put them back; now nobody remembers where they put them. The demagogues of City Hall certainly solved the parking problem.

BTW - 10:32 not only can't use spell-checker and didn't pass third grade grammar, proves the old adage that 87% of cited statistics are created at the time of publication. So far off the base of reality must be a downtown resident active in local politics.

The Asbury Church Opportunity Thrift Shop has more business than any other retail store in downtown. It is on Market Street next to Joe's building.
