Transgender woman calls attack 'hate crime,' has been afraid to be seen in public
A transgender woman beaten at a Baltimore County McDonald's spoke out on Saturday, saying that the attack was "definitely a hate crime" and that she's been afraid to go out in public ever since.
"They said, 'That's a dude, that's a dude and she's in the female bathroom,' " said Chrissy Lee Polis, 22, who said she stopped at the Rosedale restaurant to use the restroom. "They spit in my face."

pretty sure they said "that's a dude, that's a dude and HE's in the female bathroom". It wasn't a hate crime, it was based on the fact a man was in a female restroom.
He went through a sex change operation so technically he was a she. And it most definitely was a hate crime and should get prosecuted as such.
The guy who filmed it was fired, which is a good step.
They should make an example of these two thugs that attacked her.
And even if he hadn't had the operation, they still had no right to attack her. That's called assault.
And two against one? If the races were reversed, there would be riots in the street.

If "there was a man in the restroom" why did't they go report it to the manager? The beating the "sisterhood" gave that person was disgusting, brutal and illegal. I believe it was a racist hate filled rage beating.

There is such a law and it seems they have broken it. That will be decided in the courts.
It usually is never a hate crime when the victim is white.
Correction. It's not a woman. Will never be a woman. No matter how much surgery or make up it has. He doesn't have the plumbing to ever bare a child thus he is disqualified to be called a female. And those girls/women should be tried for a crime not a hate crime. No such thing. Anyone who does such a thing is full of hate no matter who they do it too.
I think the color doesn't matter, this was a hate crime. Like it or not! Very sad world we live in.

This was a hate crime. They brutally beat another human being who was not even attempting to fight. The obvious, is just simply obvious. Then, came back several times to get more. Very intentional! Very brutal! And very sad. This should not happen to any human being without swift punishment.
It is a no-brainer that they have not read about Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis chapters 18-19!!!
