Johns Hopkins hospital on lockdown after doctor shot
Doctor's condition unknown, Baltimore emergency services on the scene
A spokesman for Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore says a man who shot a doctor there and barricaded himself in a room has been caught.
Spokesman Gary Stephenson says the shooting was on the eighth floor of the main hospital building. He says that floor remains locked down.
Earlier, Baltimore police said the hospital was being evacuated.
Police say they do not know the doctor's condition.

Update on JHU website as of 120pm states that suspect is in the hospital still, but has not yet been apprehended by police.
Thoughts and prayers for the DR who was shot, those who are treating him, friends and family, and all involved.

The gunman just killed himself.
Killed his Mother before killing himself. How can anyone kill their Mother???
Apparently the doc had bad news about his mother's condition, the guy lost it, shot the doc once, killed his mother (I guess to spare her whatever the bad end was) and killed himself.
Tragic situation. Doc survived, sound like he'll make it through.
Question: do we need metal detectors to keep people from bringing guns into hospitals now?
Not the first time docs have been at risk.
Just the beginning of Obamacare.
