Tanker Over Turns In Hebron

Hi Joe,

Hebron fire department on scene of a over turned tanker behind Royal Farms on US 50.

We where told the trailer was dropped off yesterday and park next to the curb. One one the front jacks broke thru the concrete causing the tanker to over turn. It is said to be filled with vegetable oil. They are trying to locate the driver and the tractor that dropped it off.

Tip : Don't drop loaded trailers on asphalt especially in hot weather.

This area, like many others, needs more truck parking.

Dosen't it have tags on it? Could trace the owner that way.

the bottom pic kinda reminds me of some county or state workers standing around just looking at or even just leaning on the "job" that has to be done with thier hands in thier pockets lol. I used to hear a joke about them saying that the county/state workers had the pockets on thier t-shirts sewed on upside down so they could stick the handle of a shovel, rake or a broom in there so it would help them to stay standing up or to make it easier to lean lmao! Anyone else ever remember hearing that before,I just about fell out on the floor the first time I heard that, but it turned out that it wasnt that funny to me,it was just that my fellow worker kicked my shovel out from underneath my pocket!! LMAO!

1:23, how do you suggest that be done. Why is it the taxpayers responsibility to ensure that local truck drivers have a place to park their rigs overnight because they don't have a place to store them? It shouldn't have been left there anyway.

1. If it were a Perdue tank it would have a Perdue LOGO on it.
2. When i worked at Perdue they had a bunch of tankers that had Vegetable oil decals on them that were loaded right there off of Zion church rd. All the way in the back at the refinery. They hauled it to New york and other places.

8:23,who in the hell said it has anything to do with taxpayers, good grief!Have you ever been to Laurel,Delaware?Well thats the nearest truckstop that I personally know of,so what this whole point is,is that it could be a great business opportunity for someone to build a truckers establishment in the nearby Wicomico County area.I dont see any problem with that trailor being left there overnight,I mean come on who can honestly say that they would of thought about the trailor sinking down through the asphalt by leaving it there, afterall, thats the same material that you have been driving on all day long but just because they stopped and parked it now its not strong enough to hold it up,get real 8:25 and go actually file your taxes and pay the money that you still owe from 2yrs ago!

who said anything about taxpayers paying for anything? besides, local drivers usually have a place to park. either company yard, their home, or some place they know where to park.

fuel stops, truck stops, parking lots of stores such as walmart and the like COULD be used.

Everything you touch came on a truck so have a little respect.

5:21, Perdue does produce vegetable oil on their Zion Church Road facility, have been for years. They are more than just a poultry company.

I used to work security at the mall and we did not allow trucks to sit overnight due to the fact that the parking lot asphalt is only 4" thick (as is the case for most parking lots). If a truck needs to be stationary for an extended period (especially loaded), the asphalt needs to be at least 6" thick for stability.

Not all Perdue trucks have their LOGO on the sides. Some just have that 3 foot decal that says 'professional driver'.

And if you look close you will see the unit numbers on front of the tanker, similar to Perdues.

Anyone with experience would know that asphalt gets soft especially when warm weather is here. You have 18 wheels distribuating the weight going down the road. When you drop the trailer you have 8 wheels and two steel legs about a foot in width at the bottom.

That much weight on steel legs will cause it to sink, as seen in these pictures.

FYI, it is illegal to park a commercial vehicle on any street in city limits.
