Incident: Pursuit
Date of Incident: 7 September 2009
Location: Wicomico County, MD
Suspect: Timothy Ketterman Pusey, 22, Snow Hill, MD
Narrative: On 7 September 2009 at 10:48 PM, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office received information that a Berlin Police officer was attempting to stop a vehicle that was heading at a high rate of speed towards Wicomico County. The vehicle managed to elude the Berlin office but was spotted a short time later by WCSO personnel on Mt. Hermon Road in Salisbury. The WCSO deputy ascertained that the vehicle was the same one that had eluded Berlin Police and also attempted to stop it. Instead of stopping the vehicle operator accelerated the vehicle and headed towards Salisbury. WCSO personnel followed in an attempt to get the vehicle to stop. Instead, the operator exceeded all speed limits and disregarded stop signs and traffic signals. Twice, the operator of the fleeing vehicle tried to ram a law enforcement vehicle, one almost head on, but the law enforcement personnel managed to avoid a collision both times. The fleeing vehicle eventually made it to the Rt. 13 bypass where it headed south from Ocean Gateway. Upon reaching the Snow Hill Road exit, the fleeing vehicle turned around, headed north and exited on Ocean Gateway. At one point during this incident, the vehicle turned off its headlights in an attempt to avoid being seen by pursuing deputies.
The pursuit was terminated after the fleeing vehicle ran over a set of stop sticks deployed in the intersection of Ocean Gateway and Hobbs Road, which caused the vehicle’s tires to deflate. The driver, identified as Timothy Ketterman Pusey was then taken into custody after a brief struggle, wherein he refused to submit to the arrest.
At the conclusion of the incident, it was determined that Timothy Ketterman Pusey’s driver’s license was suspended and he made statements declaring that is what made him flee from the law enforcement personnel.
Timothy Ketterman Pusey was transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, he was detained in the Detention Center on $50,000.00 bond.
Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office personnel were assisted by troopers from the Salisbury and Berlin barracks of the State Police

I have a relative that goes through this kind of crap all the time!
Kids now have the mentality that they are untouchable, and they then go on to bigger crimes!
I guess the judges in Maryland and Delaware just don't care anymore, get a little money from them and send them on their way!

Sounds like Gary is going to have to sell a lot of those "Quality Cars" to raise bail money for his son. I don't think that Daddy is going to be able to get him out of this one.

Just because they're charged with a felony doesn't mean it will end up as a felony!
The relative that I spoke of in the previous comment, went to court in Delaware yesterday the 9th, he and his girlfriend had both been charged with 6 felony and 3 misdemeanors each, the judge convicted both of 2 misdemeanors and gave them 1 year probation, transfered to Maryland!

This kid got off easy i did the
same thing two years ago and was
not as bad as this chase was my bail was 500,000 Plus attempted murder charges that didnt stick. He wont get off with nothing plus he has to deal with
two county's.
He needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law! It makes no sense that these spoiled kids think that they are above the law. If he is who I think that he is, he is definately his father's son! Karma is finally catching up!!
Davis and Pusey are old Fruitland buddies lets see how Davis handles this one. I will be watching this one closely folks. The good thing is part of it is in Worcester County he might get what is coming.

Fleeing and Eluding Police is a Felony in DE... NOT IN MD... and this occurred in MD...

If that is the case, then Davis needs to distance himself from the case! But you are right, the good ole boy system is still alive and well and I'm sure that his input will be given to whomever prosecutes this...I'll bet lots of charges are dropped for a "Plea" and he'll be out on the streets in no time. This kid needs to be put UNDER the jail. How many lives did he put in danger that night!! Joe, thank you for getting the scoop, as always, you're on top of it!
Did anyone listen to this on the scanner?! I have never heard an officer so calm during a hi-speed chase. Kudos to him! This deputy kept a level head and did an outstanding job along with all of those officers involved in the chase. Sheriff Lewis, you should be proud!
I wonder if anyone has called their driving school and inquired about "how to out-run and elude the police 101" Apparently he failed that class!
