All that hype and nothing, a dud, a flop, notta, zilch. Our Grandson came home today and with great excitement as he informed us that there was no viewing of Obama after all.
Good work Delmar Elementary School. I'll be the President around this household.

At least someone has nerve to stand up to this crap!
Right on 8:22! The President IS crap. I hate that Kenyan.
Finally...some of the sheeple are beginning to see the Messiah for what he really is. Trash
dogg
8:22 you're crap. You would have loved it had it been a Republ. president speaking. And you must be a crappy parent if you think the words spoken by the pres. yesterday were not good advice that all children should have heard.
There was no discussion in Georgia about the speech. They just did not have air it period. My grandson's didn't have a clue what I was talking about. Just nope, school as usual.
Whooo hooo....Delmar had the guts to say NO to our president corrupting the thoughts of our young. I might have sent my child to school if I had known they werent going to show it. Anyone who is trying to spent millions on illegals instead of our own red-blooded elderly Americans need not even speak to my child!
My kids were forced to watch it at North Salisbury School. They were told if they had a note from home they didn't have to watch it. Since I as a parent had no idea it was being shown at their school what was the purpose of sending a note to school. Why couldn't they send home a form letter like Delmar did? My kids came home very upset about watching it, but not as upset as I am. Guess what, no one had notes from home. I wonder why?
Shame on you, shame on Delmar Schools. Reacting to hyperbolic BS is no way to raise your kids. Work hard, stay in school, get an education. Sounds like a good message to me, is it the messenger you really want to shoot?
The REVISED speech wasn't so bad, but it still has NO PLACE in our schools! Had Obama given the original speech and curriculum as planned, there would be even more uproar from parents.
I agree that this speech was not a good idea but Anon 9:26, you say "my kids came home very upset from watching it"...Give me a break!
Your kids got upset because YOU were upset.
And as far as sending the note, you KNEW when this was happening but you chose to be REACTIVE instead of PROACTIVE!
I feel sorry for your kids!
9:43 It's Obama's fault people felt their children were going to be indoctrinated. He seems to have a problem getting his message out clearly. He said that the students were to write an essay on how they could help him achieve his agenda. If it was Bush you would have been screaming the same thing as us. Bush the elder spoke to school children and the Democrats launched a congressional investigation but I'm sure you don't care about that. Obama toned it down to a polite boring little speech and now he can play the victim . Parents were right in protecting their kids from a perceived threat maybe if you were a better parent you wouldn't need help from Obama !
At my kid's school, here in Western MD, they showed the speech during the lunch period (high school) and no one listened. Also, apparently some of the kids protested on their own by writing signs saying NOBAMA.
My kid couldnt care less about the speech. She just wanted to know when her bacon cheese burger was going to be ready.
Lunch period is perfect time for Obama's speech.
Unfortunately schools are very liberal and parents must be proactive watch dogs with such a far left Marxist slant to the Oval Office and czars.
Be vigilant.
Anon 9:11am you are absolutely wrong with your statement. As a parent of a middle school student I believe that school should be a non hostile place to learn. With both the Democrats and republicans bickering with each other the broadcast of the President at this time should be my choice of what my child sees on TV. My political views have nothing to do with not wanting them to be made to watch something that most of the children there could care less about. Further more if I wanted my children watching his chat I will make them watch him tonight address our actual law makers. But I will be straight forward and tell you that is not going to happen either. This has nothing to do with what party is in control because both sides are a bunch of liars and thieves to begin with. As far as I am concerned the major Networks should take a lesson for The Delmar school folks and get the courage to refuse to air this CRAP as well. So no anon 9:11am you my friend are the one that is CRAP!
10:04 But this goes to shows the mentality of the President and his administration. A speech was written for him but because of the heat, it was revised. The President cannot stand on his own, he is a complete revised man according to the situation? If he felt so strong that he wanted and had to air a speech directed at children (who do not vote) but the general public found issues with it, he changed the format and toned it down. I feel real comfortable that he is our Leader. NOT!!!
For all of you placing shame and blame on the parents who are glad that their childrens' school did not show the speech, I have two questions:
Did you view the Obama speech prior to it being viewed in public schools? And if not, how can you be so sure that the real message really was stay in school, etc.?
I did not vote for Obama. I am not a fan. However, we are a military family. President Obama is now my husband's boss. We will show RESPECT for our president and will demand the same of our children (unlike so many who disrespected our last president). We can disagree and we can have our opinions, but the presidency has long been a position that deserves respect. With that being said, it is still my PARENTAL RIGHT to preview the shows my children are watching. I would not send my children to the movies without knowing what the content was. I found it rather bold of the White House to feel that they could address my children directly without allowing me the right to view the address first. At this time, my husband is serving in Afghanistan. Any news material is strictly censored in my home (my children are young and I do not wish for them to see things that their eyes are not ready for). For this reason, I was very leary of the President's speech, and glad that it also was a non-issue at their elementary school. We now have the option to view it online, at home, as a family.
Ignorance is bliss. The bliss is abundant on the Slower Lower.
3:45 You must be in bliss all the time.
