June 24th 2008 Pocomoke City, MD 4:20 PM a large helicopter was spotted by many citizens hovering overhead for about 45-minutes today. Whenever I hear the large chopper it sends a chill up my spine along with a prayer for an unknown, because its usually the air ambulance / rescue team for a serious accident.
As a parent whose child was not home I walked out and looked up at the chopper hovering directly over the old fire house on Fifth Street. This was not the Maryland State Police nor a typical private helicopter and the way that pilot held it steady in one spot was simply amazing. I jumped in the truck and went to the post office to pick up a delivery and the chopper had moved to almost right over downtown.
Everyone at and outside the post office was speculating what they were doing, I was hoping it was the Fed's shutting down Pocomoke's politically protected open air drug market whose profits are rumored to line the pockets of certain individuals at City Hall.
(if you live in Pocomoke then you know who)I left the post office and cruised 'the hood' where the crack dealers usually openly ply their wares but the sound of Big Brother in the air had them all off the streets. Again people were standing around looking up in the sky, talking, speculating and that chopper was hovering steady. At least we had an hour of no open "thuggin & druggin" as the P-City crew sez.
There were no squads of ground teams raiding anyone that I could see. Gee I was hoping to see the battering ram, lots of big black federal SUV's and helmeted troops breaking down doors and taking out the bad guys who openly sell crack cocaine in our small town... (at the risk of sounding like broken record to enrich the crooks at city hall)

$1,500 an hour is pretty expensive for a task that can easily be done with fixed wing aircraft or satellite.

Possibly the Governor or politicians... hovering for half an hour ???
My money is on the Feds nailing the slimy bastards who have been selling our kids cocaine in the open for over three decades under the watchful eyes of you know who while the locals protect, serve and deliver confiscated weapons to the crack dealers, courtesy of... well you know who...
This is what they would get if there was a police force (not farce) who actually did what they were paid to do and reported to someone other than an unelected dictator who cannot get fired... (oops the sound of the dead horse cavalry again)

If it had been reported as black than we would have all know it was the feds spying on Pocomoke.
I am only surprised that someone is not bitching about how much JP 4/5,what ever, it was burning.
It looked like Donald Trump's, the same one hovering around the Cambridge area and the Hyatt in recent months. With real estate markets in the US slumping, the Trumpster is focusing on real deals here instead of overseas.

I am so sorry! After our trip to Cherrystone in the ultimate Behemoth Urban Assault Vehicle I thought I'd pull out our other Toy and pop in for a visit.
The cell reception sucked on board, so I couldn't get through to you. We were trying to fins a spot to land and as I could see you in the red SUV following us, I thought you noticed the new SBYNEWS.COM on the side of the Chopper?
Anyhow, we took off for Princess Anne and landed at UMES where I smoked a stogie with Frank White.

Someone was up there with a very high resolution camera, you can bet.
Its a news helicopter. However, it is not WBOC's chopper. The large white object near the tail is an aerial films gyro cam. The white flat object near the belly is a microwave transciever.
If you look near on the tail rotor boom you see what appears to be a station's call letters.

It was a group of investors surveying the area for a possible theme park (Disney) location.

Actually, this is a NASA chopper. Flown out of Wallops. They have been surveying the area (yes, including OC) for several months now. No, Pee-City is ok.
