So if the US government determines that it is against the ! law for the words "under God" to be on our money, then, so be it.
And if that same government decides that the "Ten Commandments" are not to be used in or on a government installation, then, so be it.
I say, "so be it," because I would like to be a law abiding US citizen.
I say, "so be it," because I would like to think that smarter people than I are in positions to make good decisions.
I would like to think that those people have the American public's best interests at heart. BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D LIKE?
Since we can't pray to God, can't Trust in God and cannot post His Commandments in Government buildings, I do n't believe the Government and its employees should participate in the Easter and Christmas celebrations which honor the God that our government is eliminating from many facets of American life.
I'd like my mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter. After all, it's just another day.
I'd like the " US Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter as well as Sundays." After all, it's just another day.
I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to worry about getting home for the "Christmas Break." After all it's just another day.
I'm thinking that a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, i f all government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter. It shouldn't cost any overtime since those would be just like any other day of the week to a government that is trying to be "politically correct." In fact....
I think that our government should work on Sundays (initially set aside for worshipping God...) because, after all, our government says that it should be just another day.... What do you all think????
If this idea gets to enough people, maybe our elected officials will stop giving in to the "minority opinions" and begin, once again, to represent the "majority" of ALL of the American people. SO BE IT.

If there really is separation of church and state, I'd like all state and federal benefits that are attached to the religious institution of marriage to be officially eliminated. That way "their" families won't receive the monetary benefits that gay families are not allow to receive, even though gay families' taxes help support those benefits. Afterall, we should all be treated equally under the law. Remember, the whole argument against allowing gays to marry is because it's a religious institution. Take away the secular monetary benefits and there won't be as big a push to get marriage rights.
Many do miss the point of separation of church and state. It was designed to prevent the controlling of the government by one particular religion or denomination.
Since the words "Under God" show no deference to any particular religion or denomination, the point to me is moot. Since many of our laws revolve around several of the Ten Commandments, should we abolish our laws we have now and make new ones, while we omit any law that refers to or in any way suggests the Ten Commandments are honorable.
Ex. in New York State - adultery is illegal and in all states grounds for divorce. Since Marriage is traditionally a religious institution, as the previous poster suggests abolish marriage and we don't have to have to worry about all that messy divorce stuff, hence there is no such thing as adultery.
Ex. "Thou shalt not steal" - This would be simple. Do away with anything dealing with property and you can't have theft. What mine is yours and what's yours is mine. Also solves the whole tax thing, since I don't have any property you can't tax it.
This also takes a way the whole covet issue. No marriage, no property so you can't want what I have.
I have read this before, and i agree. But all those people who do not believe in God and Christ, they should not be celebrating Christmas and easter. Since both holidays are of Christian faith. I am so sick of people drowning out the real meaning of both holidays while not being a true Christian and or believing in a God. Anyway thats my opinion
