Yesterday I did a Post on the Jersey Road Annexation. I stated the following.
"The mere fact the County decided they had not provided enough information on this project and walked away from it clearly shows the City of Salisbury should NOT be moving forward with this Annexation as it stands. Not until the County is satisfied they have met all their wants and needs. The time being wasted on this IMO is completely unprofessional and slaps the County in the face."
Last night Council Woman Terry Cohen asked to remove this off the Agenda as the County hadn't made their decisions on the property and the City should not move forward until the County finished their agreements first.
They put it to a VOTE and like complete Idiots, Louise Smith, Gary Comegys & Shanie Shields voted against tabling it and wanted to proceed. It got so ridiculous, the Developers own Attorney stepped up to the podium and flat out asked that the Council in fact table it as they agreed the County hadn't finalized their fair share of negotiations and they wanted to present the CITY COUNCIL with a finished product.
Now the way I see it Folks is, if Joe Albero suggests something, there's NO WAY the Mayor and majority of the Council is going to go by it and even if it makes them look like complete Idiots, they're going to vote against even the most common sense suggestions.
My hat is tipped to the Developer and their Attorney for doing what is right and shame on the Mayor and majority of the City Council for proving once again they are Idiots.

OMG the three stooges have reached an all time stupidity level, is there anything they won't try and annex? Can you believe the developer did not even want it annexed and the three stooges still were going to rubber stamp it? Louise Smith is an arrogant mean spirited control freak and she should be severely chastised for her completely disrrespectful treatment of Terry and Debbie, both ladies are far more intelligent and genuinely concerned than ony of the other bit players in this farce called "city government"
It's not just you, Joe. I asked Cohen about this annexation earlier, even before you posted about it, and she said she thinking of moving to pull it.
The fact that the Three voted against even postponing the vote after Campbell and Cohen voted "aye" shows that they weren't clear on what they were voting for, or were just knee jerk reacting in opposition to C&C, or something. Hell, they who follow the developers and administration on EVERYTHING just said F.U. to the developer AND Lenox!
Plus, the developer didn't just do it out of the goodness of his heart. As Cohen asked last night, do you gentlemen really want to have to wait FIVE years to develop the commercial end that Mrs. Shields noted is so needed?"
Their response was an obvious "Hell, no!"

No, you cannnot believe that -- the developer filed the petition to have it annexed. The reason for last night's charade is that the County Council is asking serious questions about the merits of the matter that the Salisbury City Council won't.
This project will devastate the roads there just like the Hearne farm project will devastate Division Street and Dykes Road and that office park on the bypass will devastate Hobbs Road, especially at the John Deere Drive intersection.
PS -- I completely agree with the comment about rubber stamping and Louise Smith's disgraceful conduct.
One again they prove how they got the name "Stooges." Cart before the horse again.
They voted on cue. Campbell and Cohen vote for, they vote against and vice versa. Its a no brainer they don't even have to pay attention to the issue at hand all they have to do is vote the opposite of the only two representatives of the taxpayers that actually utilize brain cells.
Go back to sleep Shanie, it will be all over soon enough.
