Only 24 people in the history of Earth have made the 239,000-mile trip to the Moon, but a company based out of Virginia plans to change that.
With a Russian cosmonaut behind the controls, a company called Space Adventures hopes to fly two private citizens around the Moon and back by the end of the decade. Though it has shifted its timetable slightly from its original launch target of 2018, the company already has two passengers who reserved their seats for $150 million a piece.
"We've got a couple of clients under contract for our lunar mission," says Tom Shelley, the president of Space Adventures. "That's taking up the majority of our time, working with our partners in Russia."
Right now, Shelley says his company is working out all the logistics. But he did offer some details as to what his as-yet-unnamed clients will be doing on their trip.
Here's what the crew will experience aboard the first lunar mission in about 45 years.

Dear American Muslims, Can We Have An Honest Talk?
On 9/11, one of my roommates was a Turkish pilot. Not only was he sent home that day, he didn’t work again for weeks. In one moment he was just a guy with a religion that most Americans had no strong opinions about. In the next, there were people who thought he was potentially dangerous because of what he believed.
I’m sure a lot of Muslims have gone through that and since then, every other day it seems like there’s a story in the news about a Muslim blowing himself up, murdering innocent people or taking sex slaves. Ironically, most of the victims of these Muslims are other Muslims. So, if you’re a peaceful Muslim who loves his country, I’m sure it’s easy to feel under siege.
Personally, I think most American Muslims are good people; they’re anti-terrorist; they’re anti-Sharia law and they want to raise their families in peace and pursue the American Dream just like everybody else. I condemn in the strongest of terms, not just hate crimes and harassment, but the smearing of all Muslims with the same brush. Every Muslim who seems like a nice guy isn’t engaging in Taqiyya as he secretly plans to kill the infidels. Moreover, telling Muslims who mean us no harm that if they understood their own religion, they’d be murdering the rest of us is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard.
That being said, switching gears, the second dumbest thing I’ve ever heard is robotically repeating, “Islam is a religion of peace,” every time radical Muslims murder someone because of their religion. We know these radicals are murdering people because of their religion since they go out of their way to tell us this. You can certainly argue that groups like ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas and Boko Haram are misinterpreting Islam or perverting the Koran, but that doesn’t change the fact that they are Muslims who believe they’re being faithful to their religion as they rape, murder, and enslave the innocent in the name of Allah.

Ex-Spies Say That Clinton’s Illegal Server Triggered Widespread Devastation
Three veterans of American intelligence are horrified by the havoc that they believe former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton caused through her epic abuse of state secrets in the E-Mailgate scandal.
“If there really were SAP [special-access programs] material on her server, consider the implications,” a former U.S. intelligence officer tells me. He refers to the “several dozen” messages marked TOP SECRET/SAP that I. Charles McCullough III, inspector general for the intelligence community, reports were on the private server at Clinton’s home in Chappaqua, N.Y., 267 miles north of the State Department. Special-access programs are America’s most clandestine activities. Their revelation could damage national security severely and possibly get people killed. In the anonymous words of this one-time American intelligence professional, here is some of the devastation likely caused by Clinton’s exposure of SAP secrets:

Obama Asks Congress For More Money To Fight Opioid Drug Abuse
Every day in America more than 50 people die from an overdose of prescription pain medication. Some people who start out abusing pain pills later turn to heroin, which claims another 29 lives each day.
President Obama plans to ask lawmakers for hundreds of millions of dollars to combat this epidemic of opioid abuse when he releases his budget next week.
Most of that money — about a billion dollars over the next two years — would pay to expand treatment to help people kick the opioid habit. While the patchwork of treatment programs around the country has the capacity to serve about one million people, administration officials say the number of addicts who need help is more than double that.
"We've heard countless stories about people who encounter long waiting lines to get into treatment, to find a bed," said White House drug czar Michael Botticelli. "[It's] one of the things that's really important when people reach out for help with addiction, which often can be a challenge. We want to get to the point where we have treatment on demand."

Maryland loses $1M in oyster restoration funding after Tred Avon River project is delayed
At least $1 million in federal money earmarked to build new oyster reefs on the Eastern Shore will instead go to Virginia after Maryland officials asked that the project be delayed.
An oyster restoration project in the Tred Avon River, a tributary of the Choptank River in Talbot County, began in 2015 and had been scheduled to resume early this year. The project is part of a wider effort to help oyster populations rebound throughout the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland and Virginia.
However, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources in December called for a delay, and despite calls from environmentalists and both of the state's U.S. senators to ignore the request, the Army Corps of Engineers said Tuesday it did not expect to restart the efforts until at least October.

DSP Initiates Honorary Commander Program
The Delaware State Police is embarking on a new initiative called the Honorary Commander Program, where Commanders throughout the state identify, select and work with key community members in their troop areas. The Troop Commanders work with the Community Outreach Officer in their area on identifying who will serve as their commander. All Honorary Commanders were recently selected by each Troop Commander.
The Honorary Commander Program partners Delaware State Police Commanders with key community, business and political leaders ideally within the Commander’s respective troop area in order to foster a mutually beneficial partnership. Program goals include encouraging an exchange of ideas, experiences and understanding with the benefit of building and strengthening the bond between the Division and the communities we serve. This program also aims to increase the Division’s involvement in civic endeavors and organizations while integrating members of the local community into the Delaware State Police family.
Each Delaware State Police Commander will be paired with a key member of the Troop community as their Honorary Commander for a term of one (1) year. During their tenure, the Honorary Commander will be invited to attend such Divisional ceremonial events as Academy graduations, promotional and award ceremonies, and memorial services. Additionally, they will also be exposed to the Division’s operational mission through ride-alongs, training exercises, and special unit familiarization.
There will be an Induction Ceremony for the 2016 Honorary Commanders onWednesday, February 3, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the DSP Academy located at 1441 North Dupont Highway, Dover, Delaware 19901. This ceremony is the first formal event with each partnered civilian commander.

Jeb Spends $2,884 Per Iowa Vote
Florida governor Jeb Bush received 5,165 votes in Iowa. His vote total constitutes 2.8 percent of the Republican turnout, placing him in sixth place in the Iowa caucus.
Yet no candidate in either party spent more in the race than Bush.
According to MSNBC, Bush spent $14.9 million in Iowa, all coming from Bush's super PAC. (In fact, if one were to consider national ads and money from the campaign, the total would be significantly more.)
