During a Saturday concert in Kansas City, Staind frontman Aaron Lewis put his band’s performance on hold to go off on audience members who were allegedly touching a teenage girl inappropriately as she crowd-surfed. The singer’s explosive rant was captured on video.

Female-named Hurricanes Kill More Than Male Hurricanes Because People Don’t Respect Them, Study Finds
Storms with female names have historically killed more people because they neither consider them as risky nor take the same precautions, the study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences concludes.
Researchers at the University of Illinois and Arizona State University examined six decades of hurricane death rates according to gender, spanning 1950 and 2012. Of the 47 most damaging hurricanes, the male-named hurricane produced an average of 23 deaths compared to 45 deaths for female-named hurricanes, or almost double the number of fatalities. (The study excluded Katrina and Audrey, outlier storms that would skew the model).

The Velocity Of Money In The U.S. Falls To An All-Time Record Low
When an economy is healthy, there is lots of buying and selling and money tends to move around quite rapidly. Unfortunately, the U.S. economy is the exact opposite of that right now. In fact, as I will document below, the velocity of M2 has fallen to an all-time record low. This is a very powerful indicator that we have entered a deflationary era, and the Federal Reserve has been attempting to combat this by absolutely flooding the financial system with more money. This has created some absolutely massive financial bubbles, but it has not fixed what is fundamentally wrong with our economy. On a very basic level, the amount of economic activity that we are witnessing is not anywhere near where it should be and the flow of money through our economy is very stagnant. They can try to mask our problems with happy talk for as long as they want, but in the end it will be clearly evident that none of the long-term trends that are destroying our economy have been addressed.
Discussions about the money supply can get very complicated, and that can cause people to tune out, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

Tool Can Plug Gunshot Wounds In Seconds

Cookie sheets. Spatulas. And, oh yeah, an idea for treating gunshot wounds.
At least, that's what RevMedx found.
The U.S. military had asked the medical technology company to come up with a solution for stopping gunshot and shrapnel wounds from bleeding out. The working idea was a medical version of Fix-a-Flat, the foam you squirt in punctured tires to plug up a hole. (Perhaps the military had been browsing at Pep Boys.)
Instead, it was a sponge that solved the problem, says Andrew Barofsky, RevMedx's CEO.

Not everyone is welcoming Bowe Bergdahl home with open arms. Some of the men who served with the Taliban POW believe that he deserted his post. And they say six American soldiers died because of his actions.
Bergdahl's release, brokered with the Taliban in exchange for five Guantanamo detainees, has ignited fury in some corners of the U.S. military community and re-opened old wounds.

Bergdahl Deal Could Be First Step to Emptying Gitmo
President Obama released five Taliban leaders from the Guantanamo Bay detention facility on Saturday without consulting Congress and without strict assurances that the militants won’t somehow return to the fight. Republicans on Capitol Hill worry that the swap of these Taliban leaders for American hostage Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is a prelude to a bigger move—the emptying out of Guantanamo entirely.
In his 2014 State of the Union address, Obama promised to shutter the prison built on Cuban soil by the end of the year. Obama now has seven months to fulfill his latest promise to shut down Guantanamo—or come as close to it as he can. During that time, Congress will be unable to prevent the release of the 149 prisoners still there.

Two Rescued From Ocean This Afternoon, One Hospitalized
The official release from the Ocean City Beach Patrol on this afternoon's rescue.
"A quiet afternoon on the beach took an alarming turn today as several first responders searched the water for a missing swimmer. Shortly after 4:30 p.m., Ocean City Communications reported a water rescue in progress.
According to the initial report, three swimmers entered the ocean in the area of 137th street and were caught in a reported rip current. An Ocean City Beach Patrol Surf Rescue Technician was the first to enter the water, quickly rescuing two of the swimmers. The third swimmer, whose name is not being released, was unable to be immediately located.
In all, 15 rescue swimmers from the town’s Beach Patrol and Fire Department responded and were eventually able to locate the victim. Also helping in the rescue were Maryland State Police Trooper 4 and the United States’ Coast Guard personnel. The victim, an 18-year-old from Montgomery County, was treated on scene by EMS personnel and then transported to Atlantic General Hospital. His current condition is unknown."

ARTICULATE LIBERAL ATTACKS OBAMA
Some years ago, the University of Nebraska asked our firm to help build a crowd for a debate between William Rusher, the publisher of the conservative National Review Magazine,and Nat Hentoff, of the liberal The Village Voice.
While William Rusher and William F. Buckley, Jr. and National Review, were already familiar, it was only necessary to read a few back issues of The Village Voice to understand that Nat Hentoff was (and is) one of the world's most articulate liberals. We filled the auditorium; however, we didn't know what to expect. Would the debaters be civil or uncivil?
More than civil, they listened respectfully to what the other had to say. The audience was treated to the best ideas that both conservatism and liberalism had to offer in an atmosphere of respect and even genuine friendship between the two icons of their differing points of view.
Unfortunately, in April, 2012, Mr. Rusher went to his Eternal rest. Fortunately, Mr. Hentoff is still with us and continues to give voice to liberal causes. But what brings this particular column about is that Mr. Hentoff, the consummate left-winger, has just called for the impeachment of President Obama, saying that Mr. Obama is the most dangerous and destructive president ever and is far worse than Mr. Hentoff's former target, President Richard Nixon.
Mr. Hentoff says Mr. Obama has thrown the U.S. Constitution under the bus and is ruling as a dictator. As evidence, Hentoff cites Mr. Obama's delay of the employer mandate in ObamaCare, the changing of types of plans available under ObamaCare, ignoring our immigrations laws, refusing to deport illegal immigrants, enacting stricter gun-control measures without Congressional legislation, sealing his presidential records, creating government offices and Czars without authorization, and changing the pay grades of selected federal employees without authority.
For some work-a-day Americans, these burrs under Mr. Hentoff's saddle might seem insignificant; however, one of conservatism's leading voices, St. John's University Professor M. Northrup Buechner, writing in Forbes Magazine on November 19, 2013, saysMr. Obama's unlawful actions could lead to atroubling scenario: "A Republican Congress is elected and repeals ObamaCare over a Democrat President's veto. The President refuses to enforce the repeal. The Supreme Court rules that the President's refusal is unconstitutional. The President denounces the ruling and refuses to be bound by it.
"If the President persists in rejecting all authority other than his own, the Dénouement [outcome] would depend on the side taken by the Armed Forces..."
Writing in The Washington Times on November 12, 2013, Commander J.D. Gordon, USN (Ret.), a former Pentagon spokesman, says "...every week since President Obama took office, we've been hearing that another top leader has been summarily fired, despite decades of loyal service and valuable experience protecting the nation. Statistically speaking, it's actually closer to one every 8.8 days, a staggering 200 military brass shown the door in less than five years.
Thus, one wonders if this Stalin-like purge of generals and admirals is a precautionary step taken by Mr. Obama in advance of a descent into the darkness of a Constitutional crisis.
"Fasten your seat belts, this is going to be a bumpy flight."

Excerpts of Hillary Clinton's forthcoming memoir obtained by Politico conflict with the factual record about what happened during and after the 2012 Benghazi terror attack.
Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kan., who sits on the newly formed Benghazi select committee and the House Intelligence Committee, told Fox News before the excerpts were released that he is concerned the administration has not fully grasped the impact of the terrorist assault.
"We know that intelligence analysts on the ground knew instantaneously that this was Al Qaeda and its affiliates who had led this attack. And yet it took an awfully long time -- indeed today, it's still not clear this administration has acknowledged the depth and the risks associated with what it means to have an Al Qaeda affiliate actually take down an American [consulate]," he said.
In the limited excerpts published Friday from Clinton’s Benghazi chapter, the former secretary of State continued to defend the administration from what she termed a “political slugfest.”

Alan Barron was teaching his eighth-grade class about the history of racial segregation when he showed a video featuring blackface.
The video was historical, showing how white Americans used blackface to mockingly imitate black people as part of a broader social scheme of repression — but a school administrator sitting in on the class found it inappropriate, and Barron was suspended the next day.
He was only a month from retirement, having served 36 years with the school district.

Chili's and Sonic join Chipotle as latest chains to ban guns
'We recognize that the open carry of firearms creates an uncomfortable atmosphere and is not permitted under many local liquor laws,' Ashley Johnson, a spokeswoman for Chili's' parent company, Brinker International, said in an email to the Huffington Post. 'So, we kindly ask that guests refrain from openly carrying firearms into our restaurants and we will continue to follow state and local laws on this issue.'
A spokesperson for Sonic told the website that it will follow all laws allowing restaurant patrons to store guns in their vehicles if they choose to dine at one of their restaurants - which are primarily drive-up patios - but they don't want weapons outside of the vehicles.

Giving Afghanistan War Dogs A New Purpose
WASHINGTON -- It was graduation day for a few tough pups. These war heroes, once precious guides for Marines in Afghanistan, will now be fighting crime locally in Prince George's County.
On Friday morning at the police department's Special Operations Division in Riverdale, six former military bomb dogs graduated after eight weeks of training as the Basic EOD (Explosive Ordnance Detection) Canine Class 14-01."It's an honor to say six K9s are graduating: Shaggy, Slick, Ringo, Razz, Bill and Kane. They have served this country with great heroism in the United States Marine Corps as IED detection K9s," says Corporal Jeff Walden with Prince George's Police K9 Unit. He was the head trainer for the new graduating class of bomb dogs for the county.

Baker who refused order from gay couple told he can't discriminate
A Colorado baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple because of religious beliefs has been told by the Civil Rights Commission that he can't discriminate against customers.
The state's commission has told Jack Phillips that his religious objections to same-sex weddings did not trump Colorado's anti-discrimination statues.
The unanimous ruling upheld an administrative law judge's finding in December that Phillips violated civil rights law when he refused an order from a gay couple in 2012, who later sued.

Worcester Count Sheriff's Office Press Release 6-2-14
On May 31, 2014 Deputies obtained warrants for first degree burglary and theft under $1000.00 for Neaga and Stratila. Within minutes of the issuance of the warrants Ocean City Police located Stratila with the help of a witness and arrested him on the felony warrant. Stratila is being held on bond at the Worcester County Jail.
On June 1, 2014 Neaga was arrested by Ocean City Police on the outstanding felony warrant. Neaga is also being held on bond at the Worcester County Jail.
