LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities and celebrities were grappling Monday with how to respond to a website that posted what appears to be private financial information about top government officials and stars such as Jay-Z and Mel Gibson.
Los Angeles police and the FBI said they were aware of the pages but declined to confirm they were investigating the site, which posted purported Social Security numbers and credit reports of the leaders of both agencies. Pages posted on Vice President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did not include credit reports but included addresses and other sensitive information.
Social Security numbers posted on Gibson, Jay-Z and others matched records in public databases.

LAST WEEK MORSI ACCEPTED MILLIONS OF AMERICAN DOLLARS…BUT NOW VIDEO SURFACES OF HIS PAST RAILINGS AGAINST DOING BUSINESS WITH THE U.S.
On March 3rd, Secretary of State John Kerry announced $250 million more in aid to Egypt during his visit to Cairo, a visit that included this chummy photo-op of the Secretary with President Mohammed Morsi. Now just one week later, video of a younger Mohammed Morsi is circulating among Arabic speakers online showing a not-so-chummy Morsi railing against those who cooperate, make deals or do business with the United States and against those who allow the Americans to “interfere in our business.”

Wholesale Inventories Surge Most In 14 Months, Sales Plunge
The build in wholesale inventories was a remarkable four times expectations at +1.2%. This is the biggest surge (and largest beat) since December 2011. GDP-enhancing 'if we build it, they will buy' attitudes pervade but the sames data was desparately disappointing. Wholesale sales dropped 0.8% (against an expectation of a 0.1% rise) for the biggest drop in 3 months and one of the lowest since the crisis 'ended'. Wholesale inventory-to-sales ratio rose to its equal highest since mid 2009 - it seems a lot has been banked on the consumer's return as the inventory build was dominated by Computers, Lumber, and Drugs wheras the sales drop saw Farm Products and Petroleum biting.

SEC Hits Illinois With Securities Fraud Charges
SPRINGFIELD-Illinois broke federal securities laws in misstating the true health of the state's depleted pension funds when going out onto the bond market between 2005 and early 2009, the Securities and Exchange Commission announced Monday.
The finding of securities fraud doesn't subject the state to any fines or penalties but amounts to a warning to potential investors about the state's past financial misdeeds.
The action focuses mostly on misstatements made during impeached ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich's administration, though Gov. Pat Quinn's administration wasn't spared entirely in the federal order.

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has canceled plans to appear at several book signings in the next week after organizers received death threats.
Vick had been planning to sign his autobiography,Finally Free, at bookstores in Atlanta and Philadelphia, but his publisher said all of his appearances were canceled out of concerns for safety because Vick was the target of violent threats.
“While we stand by Michael Vick’s right to free speech and the retailers’ right to free commerce, we cannot knowingly put anyone in harm’s way, and therefore we must announce the cancellation of Mr. Vick’s book-signing appearances,” Byron Williamson, president of Worthy Publishing, told PhillyMag.com. “We’ve been assured these threats of violence, which have been reported to the police, are being taken very seriously by local authorities.”

Minimum Wage Hike Would Boost Economy Or Destroy Jobs, Friends And Foes Say
An initiative to raise minimum wage to $10 an hour in two years promises to be among the most controversial economic issues debated at the Maryland General Assembly this year.
Sponsored by Sen. Rob Garagiola, D-Montgomery, and Del. Aisha Braveboy, D-Prince George’s, the initiative would reshape the state’s job market for low-income workers.
“This is an anti-poverty bill,” said Garagiola at Thursday’s Senate hearing. “If we raise working families’ wages, we’re going to improve their quality of life, and there will be less reliance on state government.”

GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY ANNOUNCES “GOVERNOR FOR A DAY” ESSAY CONTEST
Continues commitment to empowering women & fighting for equal opportunity
ANNAPOLIS, MD - In honor of International Women’s Day, Governor Martin O’Malley launched Maryland's first-ever “Governor for a Day” Essay Contest – an effort aimed at encouraging young women to pursue careers in public service, including in elected office. The contest asks young women ages 8-12 to explain in 400 words why they want to be Governor of Maryland and what they would do if they were Governor for a day. Submissions will be accepted here.
Each individual that enters the contest will receive a package containing information about Maryland's State Government, the requirements of elected office, and a special video message with words of encouragement from the Governor. Entries for the contest will be accepted until April 15, 2013.
One winner will be chosen by a panel of judges from the Governor’s Office. The prize awarded to the writer of the winning essay will be unveiled once a winner is announced, and it will include a meeting with Governor O'Malley in Annapolis.
Maryland’s “Governor for a Day” contest builds on the Governor’s strong commitment to empowering women and fighting for equal opportunity.
“Maryland has an abundance of smart, successful women who work to help move Maryland forward every day,” said Governor O’Malley. “Together, we have strived to support our women-owned businesses, appoint a record number of exceptional women to the bench, provide better health care to those previously uninsured, and drive down violence against women. We took these measures because it’s part of the better choices we’re making for our State. In Maryland, our diversity is our greatest strength and the accomplishments of women are an integral part of our progress as a people.”
Recognizing the strong role women play in the O’Malley-Brown Administration, the Governor released a video featuring a few members of his Cabinet who’ve offered words of advice to young women.
Maryland is one of the top three “States for Women” and has the second lowest wage gap between working men and women. One-third of all businesses in Maryland are owned by a woman, the country’s highest percentage. In FY2012, MBE participation reached 25.2 percent, marking the first time the State achieved its goal of 25 percent program participation. Over the past five years, awards to women-owned firms increased 59 percent from $322.9 million in FY2007 to $550.8 million in FY2012.

Park Ranger: Supervisors Pushed Sequester Cuts That Visitors Would See
Another federal employee has come forward to claim the Obama administration resisted efforts to ease the impact of sequester.
A U.S. park ranger, who did not wish to be identified, told FoxNews.com that supervisors within the National Park Service overruled plans to deal with the budget cuts in a way that would have had minimal impact on the public. Instead, the source said, park staff were told to cancel special events and cut "interpretation services" -- the talks, tours and other education services provided by local park rangers.
"Apparently, they want the public to feel the pain," the ranger said.
The National Park Service is among many federal agencies warning of a major impact from the sequester cuts, which took effect last Friday. The agency has warned of delayed access to portions of Yellowstone and Yosemite national parks, closed campgrounds at Great Smoky Mountains National Park, reduced hours at the Grand Canyon visitor center and other ramifications.

US Economy Now Like Royalist System Of Europe?
Recovery in U.S. Is Lifting Profits, but Not Adding Jobs ... A Growing Divide: As federal budget cuts begin, high productivity and low interest rates help corporations but not job seekers. ... "So far in this recovery, corporations have captured an unusually high share of the income gains," said Ethan Harris, co-head of global economics at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. "The U.S. corporate sector is in a lot better health than the overall economy. And until we get a full recovery in the labor market, this will persist." The result has been a golden age for corporate profits, especially among multinational giants that are also benefiting from faster growth in emerging economies like China and India. – New York Times
Dominant Social Theme: If we print enough money the jobs will come.
Free-Market Analysis: This was predictable. Keynesian monetary stimulation doesn't work. The US has a bifurcated economic system now, which is really the European royalist system.
This would seem to be the result of deliberate economic policies that have virtually split the US into a nation of have-more and have-less. Often much less.
