IBM In The News
IBM is thinking about buying a network that supports BlackBerrys. Bloomberg reports the computer maker has made an informal approach about acquiring Research in Motion's enterprise-services unit. The purchase would give IBM a fast and securer email system that large corporations prefer. RIM has been struggling to catch up with newer entrants into the smart phone market — like Apple and Google.

The Education Department launched a $400 million grant program. It's this year's version of race to the top. School districts with large numbers of poor students are eligible for grants ranging from $5 million to $40 million. Congress appropriated $550 million for the program.
Education will spend the rest on grants for early learning programs.

Deputy Fired For Talking To Media After Being Shot Will Get His Job Back
Deputy James Lane was considered a hero after an incident that left him with a gunshot wound to the face. But later on, when he began to question the circumstances leading to his injury, he was marked a liar and then fired from his job at the sheriff's department. Now, he hopes to be back on the force soon.
Two years ago, Lane and 14 other deputies were serving warrants for a man wanted for murder.Once inside the home, the suspect reached into his pocket and another deputy fired his weapon. Amid the gunfire, Deputy Lane was shot in the face. He believes he was shot by the bullet of a fellow officer.
In an interview with Fox45, Lane described the event as terrifying saying, "Only thing in my thoughts was I'm going to die."

School At Home Or Homeschooling?
Over the past several years an educational phenomenon has been exploding across America. Fed up with the homogenized, secular indoctrination; embrace of dysfunctional and sexualized behavior; and tolerance for rebellious and unruly children that largely define public education in the United States, an increasing number of parents are pulling their kids out of the local schools and opting instead for a home education plan.
According to Dr. Brian Ray of the National Home Education Research Institute (NHERI), as of 2010 there were, by best estimates, over two million homeschooled students ages five to 18 in the United States, with the population of home educated students growing by up to six percent every year. While the reasons parents choose to teach their kids at home may vary, what is clear is that homeschooled kids outshine their public-schooled counterparts on just about every level.
Home-educated students typically score 15 to 30 points above public-school students on standardized achievement tests — and they do so regardless of their parents’ level of formal education. These taught-at-home students also typically score above the average on the SAT and ACT tests colleges use for admission — which means that most universities love having them, and in many cases actively recruit them. And while opponents warn that homeschooled students miss out on crucial opportunities for socialization provided in a public-school setting, the truth is that children educated at home typically score above average in tests of social, emotional, and psychological development.
Dr. Ray told The New American that increasingly parents throughout the United States are turning toward home-based education because “they want solid academics for their children, values and worldview that they choose rather than what the state chooses, stronger family relationships, and individualized education rather than a one-size-fits-all system.” He added that many concerned parents are fed up with the lax behavioral standards prevalent in most public schools.

Gambling Bill Slows To Freight-Train Pace In House, But Still Moving
The bill to expand casino gambling in Maryland that came out of the Senate Friday evening on an express train has slowed to freight-train speed in the House. The House Ways & Means Committee held a five-hour hearing Friday as the Senate was wrapping up work on the bill, and the final witness provided a cautionary tale of what happened in another state where he was a member of the legislature.

CANDY CROWLEY TO MODERATE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE AFTER 'DEATH WISH TICKET' COMMENTS
Two days after CNN's Candy Crowley called Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan the "Death Wish Ticket," the Commission on Presidential Debates announced that she will moderate one of the three presidential debates to be held in October:
MoreFrank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr. and Michael D. McCurry, co-chairmen of the non-partisan Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD), today announced the moderators for the 2012 general election presidential and vice presidential debates. The moderators, and the schedule and locations for the debates (as announced on October 31, 2011), are as follows:
NDAA: The Most Important Lawsuit In American History That No One is Talking About
Despite a mainstream media blackout on the topic, the alternative media is abuzz with this week’s hearing on the constitutionality of the clearly unconstitutional NDAA. In case you don’t remember, section 1021 of the NDAA, which Obama signed into law on December 31 of last year, allows the government to lock up U.S. citizens indefinitely without a trial. At the time of signing, Obama penned a pathetic letter to many of his outraged supporters where he basically said he signed it but he won’t use it. Thanks pal!
In any event, the Administration is showing its true colors by appealing an injunction that judge Katherine Forrest issued against it in May. The injunction was in response to the lawsuit filed by Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Chris Hedges and others. While the NDAA clearly vaporizes the 5th and 6th Amendments of the Constitution, I believe the real target is the 1st Amendment. By having a law on the books that allows the government to arbitrarily lock anyone up and throw away the key, the government is actually trying to instill enough fear in people that they self-censor speech and become too afraid to criticize the criminal elite political and economic oligarchy.
Tangerine Bolen is one the lead plaintiffs in the suit against the government and she penned a powerful piece for the UK’s Guardian. Here are some key quotes:
I am one of the lead plaintiffs in the civil lawsuit against the National Defense Authorization Act, which gives the president the power to hold any US citizen anywhere for as long as he wants, without charge or trial.
In a May hearing, Judge Katherine Forrest issued an injunction against it; this week, in a final hearing in New York City, US government lawyers asserted even more extreme powers – the right to disregard entirely the judge and the law. On Monday 6 August, Obama’s lawyers filed an appeal to the injunction – a profoundly important development that, as of this writing, has been scarcely reported.
Judge Forrest had ruled for a temporary injunction against an unconstitutional provision in this law, after government attorneys refused to provide assurances to the court that plaintiffs and others would not be indefinitely detained for engaging in first amendment activities. At that time, twice the government has refused to define what it means to be an “associated force”, and it claimed the right to refrain from offering any clear definition of this term, or clear boundaries of power under this law.

Md. Elder Care Center Probed After 1-Story Fall
The owner of a Boonsboro assisted-living center faces criminal charges and a licensing investigation after an 84-year-old Alzheimer's patient crashed through the unfinished floor of a second-story room into the dining room below, police and state regulators said Monday.
The patient, Eileen Rindone, was in serious condition at the University of Maryland Medical Center's Shock Trauma unit in Baltimore. She suffered several broken ribs and vertebrae, a broken pelvis, a broken ankle and a severe head injury, police said.
Dickson O. Tabi, the owner of Soma Manor Assisted Living, is charged with one count of reckless endangerment and two counts of abuse or neglect of a vulnerable adult. The charges carry maximum penalties totaling 25 years in prison and $25,000 in fines.
Our Dishonorable President
After the massacre in Tucson that saw six murdered and U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., and 12 others wounded, President Obama gave a speech at the memorial where he called for raising the tone in politics. To honor the memory of those killed and wounded the president said:
The loss of these wonderful people should make every one of us strive to be better in our private lives — to be better friends and neighbors, co-workers and parents. And if, as has been discussed in recent days, their deaths help usher in more civility in our public discourse, let’s remember that it is not because a simple lack of civility caused this tragedy, but rather because only a more civil and honest public discourse can help us face up to our challenges as a nation in a way that would make them proud.
Moving words. Also a lie.
President Obama had no interest in having “more civility in our public discourse,” no concern for those grieving families. He said what was expected of him as president – touching, well-delivered words we now know had as much meaning to him as his promise to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term.
The president has stood silently while his supporters, surrogates and staff have engaged in some of the most transparently desperate and disgusting campaign rhetoric of the modern age.
Without proof or even proof to the contrary, Democrats have accused Mitt Romney of being a felon, a tax cheat, a racist and a murderer. With each charge, the president avoided leveling the charge himself. But he said nothing … did nothing to stop them.
The media only recently bothered to ask his staff about the latest lie his allies have propagated – that Romney’s actions at Bain Capital are somehow responsible for the death by lung cancer of the wife of former steel worker and current liberal activist Joe Soptic.
Their response? The natural instinct of liberals when challenged – to lie.

CHICAGO GANGSTER
Chicago’s claim of infamy – their gangster culture – deeply embedded in their political style of ruthlessness is exemplified in Barack Obama. Violence, lies, sleaze, extortion and intimidation are the tools of the trade. Politics may appear to be more benign than the Valentine Massacre to the unsophisticated, but the reality is that the government arena is far more corrupt then any of the most egregious deeds of the Chicago Outfit. Brush up on your current events and Chicago history. The laundry list of crooked Ward and Aldermen fit the soldier model of the crime family. The latest Godfather, Rahm Emmanuel is the “Greasy Thumb” Guzik bagman for the Obama syndicate.
Denying the perverse nature of the Obama administration requires a total disconnect from facts and veracity. Yet if one places any credence in political polls, Barry Soetoro may well be voted into office for a second term. Explaining this possibility says more about the dependency culture than about old time morals and values of an independent nation.
Bring back to life, the reliable Cook County voting deceased block, on a national level is a very real prospect, when the gangster machine applies their strong-arm techniques to the ballot box. Not to place much reliance in the electoral process, which is controlled by two branches of the same establishment, the overt fixing of the presidential cycle by the lackeys in the mainstream media is reminiscent of the press coverage given to the Al Capone free soup kitchens.

I'VE PUT MY TRUST IN YOU
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn’t even matter
I’ve put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
For all this

HOW DID THIS BORDER PATROL AGENT’S GUN SNAP IN HALF?
There is a case to be made for traditional metal weapons over newer, polymer technology.
Example A is provided by The Loadout Room , a subset of SOFREP.com (the special operations forces report). It reports the following photos come from a border patrol agent who fell off his ATV while training. The short visit to the hospital by the agent wasn’t the only collateral damage of the fall, though. His P2000 handgun snapped at the handle.
Non Fishin'
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for one day. If you teach a man to fish, he can feed himself for life." Yes, there is a whole generation of youngsters who have never heard that old chestnut. This blind spot of ignorance is liberalism, "if you only give a man a single fish, he will have to vote for you to get another fish tomorrow." But this is only half of the formula for successful politics.
If you make a man dependent on you, he will come to hate you. You must convince him your handout is his rightful due, his "entitlement". This is what Obama was doing with his "you didn't make that on your own" speech. He was telling the useless welfare slugs all success in this world comes from them. And they believe it. They cheered! They believe cashing government checks and spending food stamps makes our economy. They believe Microsoft and Apple couldn't have happened without them. They believe their welfare checks pay for road and bridges. In a word, they believe they are indeed "entitled."
This is why Obama went "Whoa Nellie!" when his removal of Work from Welfare went public. His slugs need to believe "Potato Chip Consumption; Sofa Venue" is Work. They need to believe someone who starts a business just found a way to get more out of government than mere food stamps. They must never find out Obama has turned them into something less than men. Their phony self esteem must remain intact. They are the masses to whom the graffiti, "Who is John Galt?" was written. Men who have produced nothing but claim the right to what I have done.
A man does need self esteem to survive but it does not come from a bottle, needle or government check. Self esteem comes the old-fashioned way: you earn it. It cannot be given. It cannot be stolen. Self esteem comes from proving yourself in this world. Not from the soft, soothing words of Liberals leading you to the holding pen.
The Constitution was written by free men for free men, willingly accepted by free men. It was never a document for moochers. Today, Obama and his whores trample on our compact between generations.
