When the history of New York City’s collapse is written, the star protagonists and executioners are two Italians–Cuomo and DeBlasio. The bulk of the blame is on the failed Marxist, Bill DeBlasio, who has led the charge in eliminating bail requirements for criminals and opened the city to legions of homeless. As result, the city is descending into a grim version of hell not even envisioned by a genuine Italian luminary, Dante Alighieri. .
It is not just the trash. The city is becoming more dangerous by day. Anyone arrested for theft or assault is not going to spend anytime in jail. Laws signed by the idiot Governor Cuomo ensures that no one arrested must post bail before being sprung from the hoosegow. The result should not surprise any sentient being with half a brain–the City is being transformed into a free fire zone.
The bureaucratic and administration castration of the police is the icing on the top of this pile of festering feces. The men and women in blue who dare walk the streets and try to patrol or enforce order now realize they are on their own. They are Kevin Costner in Dances with Wolves except the Indians are hostile and vicious. New York’s finest are not stupid. The realize there is no upside to going to the streets and trying to impose an order that is resisted by the political powers that are supposed to back them. As This Taliban-Russia Story Used to Bash Trump Suffered More Stab Wounds, Hillary Should’ve Kept Quiet
We’re dealing with another nonsensical Taliban-Russia story. Apparently, we have some liberal media outlets and Democrats trying to make bountygate: Afghanistan edition a thing. The story that The New York Times peddled is that some a Russian intelligence unit was paying the Taliban to kill Americans as if radical Islamic terrorists need financial incentives. There are no details. None. It was an intelligence leak and it’s becoming quite clear that it’s trash.
Democrats and the media are trying to bash Trump by saying he knew and did nothing. Well, he didn’t know. He wasn’t briefed because nothing could be corroborated. I know this may be news to some people, but not all classified information is accurate. And of course, sore loser Hillary had to jump in, with this tweet which lacks self-awareness. And knowing the facts I know now; I stand behind that call.”

Nuts: Virginia Democrats Mull Reducing Criminal Penalties for Assaulting Police Officers
To appease black voters in the upcoming election, Democrats are doing everything they can to spit in the face of police officers. Seattle is mayhem. New York City now has a CHAZ zone of its own; our own Julio Rosas is there right now. Minneapolis is making a blitzkrieg push to abolish their police department. And now in Virginia, state Democrats are moving to downgrade the legal fallout for assaulting a police officer (via Fox News):
Virginia Democrats are proposing a long list of criminal justice reforms in response to the recent deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and others, but while some of them – such as banning chokeholds – are aimed at protecting citizens, at least one measure could reduce protection for officers.
According to a document shared by multiple local reporters and retweeted by the Virginia Senate Democrats, the proposals include downgrading the charge of assault on a police officer from a felony to a misdemeanor.
“The Senate Democratic Caucus has led and is continuing to conduct a series of community conversations to discuss these issues and we have heard from the public that now is not the time for studies or delay and that changes must be made during our Special Session,” says the document, which is titled, "Senate Democratic Caucus Police Reform and Criminal Justice Equity Plan."
It goes on to say, “We will continue to take public input and work with stakeholders, the House of Delegates, state agencies, and Governor Northam to refine these measures over the next 60 days.”
Currently, assaulting an officer is a Class 6 felony with a minimum penalty of six months in jail and a maximum of five years. Misdemeanors carry a one-year maximum and no minimum.
They also included de-escalation protocols regarding the use of lethal force. Democrats hate cops. They’re trying to hamstring them. And they obviously want to incentivize their mob minions to attack law enforcement. I suggest everyone try out a police simulator. While I get that de-escalation protocols are a debate topic, the experience you get with these simulations does a good job giving you an on-the-ground feeling of what officers experience and how you have seconds to react in deadly situations. When someone pulls out a gun or a knife and is acting belligerently, you don’t reason with that person who is a threat to the officer and the wider public. You shoot that person.

As a gold analyst, I grew used to this a long time ago. But, it’s still disconcerting when one realizes the extent to which gold is simply not taken seriously or is treated as a mere commodity no different than soy beans or wheat.
The reasons for this disparaging approach to gold are not difficult to discern. Economic elites and academic economists control the central banks. The central banks control what we now consider “money” (dollars, euros, yen and other major currencies).
Those who control the money supply can indirectly control economies and the destiny of nations simply by deciding when and how much to ease or tighten credit conditions, and when to favor (or disfavor) certain types of lending.
When you ease credit conditions in a difficult environment, you help favored institutions (mainly banks) to survive. If you tighten credit conditions in a difficult environment, you can more or less guarantee that certain companies, banks or even nations will fail.
This power is based on money and the money is controlled by central banks, primarily the Federal Reserve System. However, the money-based power depends on a monopoly on money creation.
As long as investors and institutions are forced into a dollar-based system, then control of the dollar equates to control of those institutions. The minute another form of money competes with the dollar (or euro, etc.) as a store of value and medium of exchange, then the control of the power elites is broken.
This is why the elites disparage and marginalize gold. It’s easy to show why gold is a better form of money, why it’s more reliable than central bank money for preserving wealth, and why it’s a threat to the money-monopoly that the elites depend upon to maintain power.

U.S. tech chief executives expected to testify before House panel
The chief executives of the four US tech giants - Amazon.com, Facebook, Alphabet's Google and Apple - whose companies are worth a combined $5.5trillion, will testify before Congress in late July as part of an ongoing antitrust probe into the companies, according to two sources familiar with the matter.
Amazon's Jeff Bezos, Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai of Google and Apple's Tim Cook will appear as part of an antitrust probe being done by the House Judiciary Committee's antitrust panel, the sources said.
The companies did not immediately comment when asked to respond by DailyMail.com.

A new large-scale study conducted by the Henry Ford Health System concluded that hydroxychloroquine, the anti-malaria drug touted by Trump as a potentially game-changing treatment for the coronavirus, successfully lowered mortality rates for hospitalized coronavirus patients. The results were published Thursday in the peer-reviewed International Journal of Infectious Diseases.

The study examined 2,541 patients who had been hospitalized in six hospitals between March 10 and May 2, 2020.
More than twenty-six percent (26.4%) of patients who did not receive hydroxychloroquine died.
But among those who received hydroxychloroquine, fewer than half that number — 13% — died.
More than 90% of the patients received hydroxychloroquine within 48 hours of admission to the hospital. Scientists say giving the drug early during illness may be a key to success.
The study also determined that there were no adverse effects on the heart, despite previous reports.

Black civil rights attorney Leo Terrell announces his support for the re-election of Donald Trump
This is a big deal.
Many of us who have listened to or watched Fox News over the years are familiar with civil rights attorney Leo Terrell. I always dismissed him as an annoying blowhard whose spouting of Democrat talking points was used by the hosts as a foil and for entertainment value.
Last Sunday, I was surprised to find that Mark Levin did not share that view and, in fact, holds Mr. Terrell in high regard. Who knew?

Ghislaine Maxwell Arrested, May Be Sent To Same Jail Where Epstein 'Killed Himself'
Update (1455ET): MSNBC's Ayman Mohyeldin reports that multiple federal law enforcement officials say that depending on what the judge overseeing today’s detention & removal hearing & the Bureau of Prisons determine, Ghislaine Maxwell could be housed at MCC in New York – the same jail where Jeffrey Epstein killed himself.
“We will be seeking detention,” Acting U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss in Manhattan said in a press conference announcing charges. Prosecutors said Maxwell helped Epstein entice girls as young as 14 into sex from 1994 through 1997, then lied about it under oath in 2016.
As Bloomberg adds, unless the judge in New Hampshire releases her on bail, "Maxwell will either be held overnight in a local jail there or transported immediately back to New York, said Jack Donson, a consultant who formerly worked for the federal Bureau of Prisons. In New York, she would likely be transferred to one of two federal lockups, the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Lower Manhattan or the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn."
Of course, Manhattan’s MCC is where Epstein was found dead in his cell in August after committing "suicide" by hanging himself using his bed sheets. How he was permitted to do so remains a mystery. Two MCC guards are facing charges for falsifying records and failing to check on inmates in the hours before Epstein’s death. Both have pleaded not guilty. In May, the Manhattan jail also faced criticism after a judge-ordered inspection found it was failing to adequately protect inmates from the coronavirus.
Asked if any special precautions will be taken to ensure Maxwell’s safety in custody, Strauss said: "As you know, we are sensitive to that concern and certainly we’ll be in dialogue with the Bureau of Prisons about it."
Which probably means that Ghislaine has days left, if not hours, left to live.
Donson added it was possible federal officials might choose to hold Maxwell elsewhere to avoid press attention. “Maybe they’ll want to get her out of New York entirely,” he said. Wherever she ends up, Maxwell will be evaluated for suicide or other risks, he added.

It's a familiar trope: some privileged white or non-black BLM "ally" says or posts some shocking denouncement of 'white people', goes viral, faces a huge backlash, then whines about how they're being "victimized" by the evil, corrupt "white supremacist" system.
In the latest almost laughably egregious example of this trend, a Harvard graduate who grew up in a wealthy Connecticut enclave is blaming "Trump supporters" for being fired from a high-paying job at Deloitte, where she was set to begin work after graduating from Harvard.
In a video published yesterday, a teary-eyed Claira Janover whines that she lost her job for "standing up for Black Lives". In reality, Janover posted an unhinged video where she threatened to assault any white person who dared say "all lives matter" in her presence.
"I’ma stab you,” she said. “I’ma stab you, and while you’re struggling and bleeding out, I’ma show you my paper cut and say, ‘My cut matters, too.'"
While everyone has skeletons in their past they wish could be wiped from the Internet, Ms. Janover, an adult who was educated at Harvard, posted this just the other day. To claim that the post was somehow "standing up for black lives" borders on delusional. But nevertheless, Janover claims her video "put me a place online to be seen by millions of people", as if she was compelled to post it by some otherworldly force, not via her own free will.

WHO backtracks on original claim that China self-reported, admits this never happened

Rather, international health officials discovered the virus through information posted to a U.S. website.
The quiet admission from the international health organization, which posted an "updated" timeline to its website this week, flies in the face of claims from some of its top officials, including WHO director general Tedros Adhanom, who maintained for months that China had informed his organization about the emerging sickness.

Adam Schiff Knew About 'Russian Bounty' Intel Months Ago, Did Nothing
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was briefed on unverified intelligence that Russia was offering the Taliban to kill US soldiers in Afghanistan - yet did nothing with that information, according to The Federalist.
Schiff, who chairs the House Intelligence Committee, was a key player in the attempt to remove Trump from office - first claiming he had evidence of collusion with Russia, before pivoting to the Ukraine saga where he spearheaded the House's impeachment of Trump over his request that Ukraine's new president investigate Joe and Hunter Biden over allegations of corruption.
And yet, somehow Schiff failed to weaponize the 'Taliban bounty' story for months after his staff was briefed on the rumor during a February congressional delegation (CODEL) trip to Afghanistan.

U.S. seizes 13-ton shipment of human hair products from China on strong suspicion of forced labor
Nearly 13 tons of wigs and human hair products have been seized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection over fears that they were made through forced labor in China.
The CBP issued the detainment order for all shipments arriving from Lop County Meixin Hair Product Co. Ltd. based in Xinjiang, China. Officials believe they have strong evidence the wigs and hair care products are linked to forced labor, potentially from the Uighur concentration camps in the communist country.
Several female survivors of the Uighur subjugation testify that women's heads are shaved when they are imprisoned in the camps, something that National Security Council spokesman John Ullyot says is "highly suspicious" given the recent shipment.
"The production of these goods constitutes a very serious human rights violation, and the detention order is intended to send a clear and direct message to all entities seeking to do business with the United States that illicit and inhumane practices will not be tolerated in U.S. supply chains," Brenda Smith, executive assistant commissioner of the CBP Office of Trade, said in a statement.

Troopers Arrest Four Suspects for Felony Assault at Royal Farms - Rehoboth Beach
Rehoboth Beach – The Delaware State Police have arrested four suspects on felony assault and other related charges.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at approximately 11:43 p.m. Troopers were dispatched to the Royal Farms located at 18904 Coastal Hwy, Royal Farms, Rehoboth Beach, in reference to a fight in progress. Upon Troopers arrival, they made contact with two victims, a 19 year-old female from Rehoboth Beach and a 22 year-old male from Milford, who were both employees of the store. It was reported that four suspects, one of whom is the ex-boyfriend of the female victim, entered the store and began assaulting the female. The male victim attempted to stop the assault, but one of the suspects turned on him. The male suspect ran to a vehicle parked outside of the store and retrieved a handgun. As the male victim ran away, the suspect entered the store with the handgun, but quickly exited with all the other suspects as police sirens were heard approaching. All the suspects entered their sole vehicle in the parking lot and fled.
The female victim was treated for her injuries at a local hospital.
The male victim did not require medical attention.
The suspects were identified as Deshawn Potts 19 year-old of Lincoln, Ashley Potts 30 year-old of Dover, Ashley Davis 19 year-old of Lincoln, and a 17 year-old juvenile of Milton.
All suspects turned themselves in at Troop 7 and were charge with the following:

By now, anyone who follows gun rights news knows that California isn’t a great place to be a gun person. Your choices on handguns are severely limited to just what’s on a particular list, a list that is shrinking as models are discontinued and no longer sold, and your choices of tactical rifles are even more so. Sure, most hunting weapons are untouched, but the Second Amendment doesn’t say a damn thing about hunting.
However, there’s a kind of firearm that made it through the cracks of California state law. It’s not quite a pistol, not quite a rifle. It’s made life in California just a bit easier for some.
So, of course, California lawmakers are looking to ban it.
California lawmakers this week are poised to use a budget maneuver to ban a new type of gun in a move that drew bipartisan criticism in a legislative committee hearing Wednesday evening.
Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration describes the firearm as an assault-style weapon that’s a cross between a rifle and a pistol. It doesn’t neatly fit into either category, however, because it lacks a shoulder stock needed to be a rifle and has a barrel too long to be a pistol.
Representatives for Newsom argued at a Senate Budget Committee hearing that the gun was designed to circumvent California gun control laws and that the policy change would close the loophole.
Jay Jacobson, president of the company that manufactures the firearm, disputed the administration’s characterization of the gun. He said the gun his company Franklin Armory manufactures, called a Title 1, is in a separate category from rifles and pistols and that the company has worked for years to ensure the weapon would be legal to sell in California.
Several lawmakers raised concerns about the move at the Wednesday hearing, arguing the ban should have been considered in a standalone bill, not as part of the sprawling budget deal that encompasses 19 pieces of complicated legislation.
“It should be a policy bill — banning of a new class of firearm,” said Republican Sen. Melissa Melendez from Lake Elsinore. “This isn’t a budget matter.”
So why wasn’t it?

You’re likely aware of the price action in gold lately. Gold has rallied from $1,591 per ounce on April 1 to $1,782 per ounce as of today. That’s a 12% gain in less than three months.
My earlier forecast was that gold would hit $1,776 by the Fourth of July. I guess I was a bit early!
Today’s price of $1,782 per ounce is the highest since 2012 and a 70% gain from the low of $1,050 per ounce at the end of the last bear market in December 2015.
The history of gold bull markets (1971–80 and 1999–2011) shows that the most powerful gains come toward the end of the bull market, not at the beginning.

But shortly after George Floyd’s horrifying May 25 killing, my Instagram feed changed course and was filled with commentary on police brutality and race relations.
I’m glad that those I follow on Instagram are speaking out about race relations and abuse at the hands of police officers. But the casual and pervasive use of leftist language to talk about race relations is worrisome.

Fox News senior judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano joined "The Daily Briefing" Thursday to discuss the arrest of Jeffrey Epstein confidante Ghislaine Maxwell and break down the charges against her.
Maxwell, who was arrested Thursday morning in Bradford, N.H., is charged with conspiracy to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, enticement of a minor to to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, and two counts of perjury. She faces up to 35 years in prison if convicted of all charges.
“The maximum penalty [for the perjury and conspiracy charges] is five years [each] and the indication would be no time in jail," Napolitano explained. "But the enticing and transporting of minors across interstate lines for sexual purposes, for which they as minors cannot legally consent, is so serious that there is no statute of limitations on it ... The Congress is so determined to authorize the FBI to go after his kind of behavior that it removed the statute of limitations."

John Wade, 33, and Chisom Kingston, 23, were taken into custody overnight in connection with the June 13 fire at the fast food joint in Atlanta, Georgia, authorities confirmed Thursday.
This takes the arrests over the fire up to three after Brooks' girlfriend Natalie White, 29, was arrested on suspicion of setting the fire last month. White has since been released on bond.

A bombshell report published by The New York Times Friday alleges that Russia paid dollar bounties to the Taliban in Afghanistan to kill U.S troops. Obscured by an extremely bungled White House press response, there are at least three serious flaws with the reporting.
The article alleges that GRU, a top-secret unit of Russian military intelligence, offered the bounty in payment for every U.S. soldier killed in Afghanistan, and that at least one member of the U.S. military was alleged to have been killed in exchange for the bounties. According to the paper, U.S. intelligence concluded months ago that the Russian unit involved in the bounties was also linked to poisonings, assassination attempts and other covert operations in Europe. The Times reports that United States intelligence officers and Special Operations forces in Afghanistan came to this conclusion about Russian bounties some time in 2019.
According to the anonymous sources that spoke with the paper’s reporters, the White House and President Trump were briefed on a range of potential responses to Moscow’s provocations, including sanctions, but the White House had authorized no further action.
Immediately after the news broke Friday, the Trump administration denied the report—or rather, they denied that the President was briefed, depending on which of the frenetic, contradictory White House responses you read.
Traditionally, the President of the United States receives unconfirmed, and sometimes even raw intelligence, in the President’s Daily Brief, or PDB. Trump notoriously does not read his PDB, according to reports.

Ousted National Security Advisor John Bolton said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday that Trump was probably claiming ignorance in order to justify his administration’s lack of response.
“He can disown everything if nobody ever told him about it,” said Bolton.

Judge Orders Jeffrey Epstein Accuser To Destroy Files
Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre has been ordered by a US District Judge to destroy files believed to contain the names of Epstein's associates - because they were "improperly obtained.'
Senior US District Judge Loretta Preska said on Wednesday that Giuffre's attorneys would need to provide proof that the documents had been destroyed, adding that "Counsel shall submit an affidavit detailing the steps taken to do so," according toNewsweek.
Preska noted that a protective order governing the 'improperly obtained' documents only applied during a civil lawsuit proceeding which has been settled.
Preska's ruling came after a request by attorney Alan Dershowitz to gain access to the documents. Giuffre has claimed that Dershowitz was one of the men Epstein forced her to have sex with. In response, Dershowitz sued Giuffre for defamation in 2019. Dershowitz claimed that obtaining the Epstein files would be an asset to his defense.

Contrary to the spin-masters in the White House today, I would not have waited until we had absolute certainty. I would have said, “Mr. President, I want to make sure you are aware that we have troubling reporting that Russia is paying the Taliban to kill our forces in Afghanistan. I will work with the intelligence community to ensure the information is solid. In the meantime, I will convene the national security team to get you some options for how to respond to this apparent major escalation in Russia’s hostile actions.”
If later the president decided, as Mr. Trump did, that he wanted to talk with President Vladimir Putin of Russia at least six times over the next several weeks and invite him to join the Group of 7 summit over the objections of our allies, I would have thrown a red flag: “Mr. President, I want to remind you that we believe the Russians are killing American soldiers. This is not the time to hand Putin an olive branch. It’s the time to punish him.”
This is what would have happened in any prior administration of either political party.
According to Rice, “That it apparently did not is deeply troubling and raises myriad questions.”

This is not the pattern associated with partisan realignments that may last 30 years or so, but a shorter cycle that relates to party control of the White House.

The 1842 Slave Revolt in the Cherokee Nation was the largest escape of a group of slaves to occur in the Cherokee Nation, in what was then Indian Territory. The slave revolt started on November 15, 1842, when a group of 20 African-American slaves owned by the Cherokee escaped and tried to reach Mexico, where slavery had been abolished in 1829. Along their way south, they were joined by 15 slaves escaping from the Creek Nation in Indian Territory. (Date inconsistent with later assertion)
The fugitives met with two slave catchers taking a family of eight slave captives back to the Choctaw Nation. The fugitives killed the hunters and allowed the family to join their party. Although an Indian party had captured and killed some of the slaves near the beginning of their flight, the Cherokee sought reinforcements. They raised an armed group of more than 100 of their and Choctaw warriors to pursue and capture the fugitives. Five slaves were later executed for killing the two slave catchers.

Frederick County teens charged with murder of 17-year-old girl
Richard Eugene Cartnail III, 16, of Frederick, and Caliyah Dawnae Lobaugh, 14, of Frederick, are charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Department.
The pair were arrested July 1 and charged as adults following the death of Tykerria Katherine Dawson, 17, authorities said.
Dawson's body was located off of a walking trail in the area behind Briargrove Court in Frederick on the evening of June 27.

ASSATEAGUE — The arrival of the Fourth of July weekend, along with one individual who this week thought it was a good idea to actually mount one of the horses at Assateague provides a good opportunity to remind the public the island’s most famed residents are wild and potentially dangerous and should be given plenty of space.
On Wednesday, a frequent visitor to Assateague came across a group of young men petting two stallions near their vehicle along the roadside on Assateague. The concerned visitor reportedly advised the young men the horses are wild and can bite and kick, telling them about the 40-foot rule for giving the wild horses plenty of space.
The young men asked the visitor what they should do when the horses walk right up to humans and the concerned visitor told them it was best to walk away and avoid interacting with them. One of the young men reportedly said he worked on a ranch and knew how to handle horses. The visitor left the area and returned a short time later to find the “ranch hand” riding on the back of one of the stallions.
The visitor immediately called park rangers and they arrived quickly, but by then the group of young people had left the area. The witness was able to send pictures of the incident along with pictures of the vehicle’s license plate to park rangers. On Thursday, National Park Service officials confirmed the incident and said the park rangers were able to locate the individual, who has been charged appropriately.

This week, the American Academy of Pediatrics has also emphasized the importance of re-opening schools in the fall. Therefore, I am proud to co-sponsor this important House resolution that urges just that. Many areas of the country, including parts of Maryland, can reopen their schools safely this fall.”

In a sharply split, 2-1 decision, a panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit has held that Maryland may ban the possession of "Rapid Fire Trigger Activators" by existing owners without paying just compensation under Fifth Amendment or the Maryland Constitution. The majority ruled that no just compensation was owed to existing, lawful owners because the ban “does not require owners of rapid fire trigger activators to turn them over to the Government or to a third party.” In short, as far as this majority is concerned, the State is free to ban the possession of any personal property without paying just compensation unless the State puts the property into its own pocket or the pocket of a third party. If that is the law, then no personal property, of any kind, is safe from the grasping clutches of the General Assembly. For example, the State could ban possession of your existing car and not pay a dime. The dissenting opinion ably demolishes the majority's reasoning. Biden says he won't hold rallies due to coronavirus
Biden told reporters: “I’m going to follow the docs’ orders. Not just for me but for the country."
Contrasting himself with President Trump, presumptive Democratic challenger Joe Biden on Tuesday said that he won’t be holding campaign rallies going forward due to the coronavirus.
When asked if would hold large-scale rallies -- which public health experts warn against -- Biden told reporters: “I’m going to follow the docs’ orders. Not just for me but for the country. And that means I’m not going to be holding rallies.”
And the former vice president -- holding a news conference for the first time in nearly three months -- acknowledged that latest “polling data is very good.” But with more than four months to go until the November election, Biden also said “it’s really early” and said he didn’t “want to jinx myself.”
The 77-year old also pushed back against claims by Trump and his campaign that Biden’s lost his mental sharpness, saying he’s “constantly testing” for cognitive decline. And he stressed that he’s anxious to compare his mental capabilities with those of the president -- and that he “can hardly wait” to debate Trump in autumn.
