Elizabeth Day, Wife of Salisbury Mayor Jake Day serves jail time

Elizabeth Day, the wife of Salisbury Mayor Jake Day, is currently serving 10 days in jail. 

Day surrendered to authorities late Friday afternoon. She was in court Friday morning facing a single count of attempted possession of Adderall, a controlled and dangerous substance, and also one count of contributing to the condition of a child, the second charge was dismissed by the state.

The 30, year old former physical education teacher at James M. Bennett High School in Salisbury, was arrested on December 19 stemming from  an investigation that was launched after a report was filed Dec. 9, 2019, through the Child Advocacy Center.

Day, who apologized for her "poor decision", and said, "I take full responsibility for my actions", entered an Alford plea, which means, that a defendant maintains his or her innocence but acknowledges that, had the state proceeded to trial, there likely would have been sufficient evidence for a conviction. 

 

John Cannon told a bold faced lie tonight.

The  Wicomico County Council, in its work session this evening, decided to re-open the search for applicants for the Bob Culver's County Executive position.  Holloway, Davis, Acle, & President Dodd pushed as a majority to re-open the application period.

 Bill McCain and John Cannon, who are already  strange bed-fellows in this, fought jointly to say the council should stick to the two applicants they still have ~ Michele Ennis &  Carl Anderton.   Hastings chimed in but was not as forceful as McCain and especially Cannon.  

Cannon argumentatively and repeatedly questioned both attorneys Wilbur & Taylor challenging opinions they gave about the search process, the timing and the charter.  Cannon interrupted the attorneys and his fellow council members continually.

Then Cannon stated, "No one has contacted me to ask to re-open the search."

Folks, I know first hand that is a big, bold lie!  I, several  others, and every council member is well aware of a very qualified female who has expressed possible interest in the County Executive position if the search was re-opened after Dr. Desmaris backed out.   This potential candidate has a financial background, long public service and a list of impressive civic leadership roles. 

John Canon has her resume in his possession.  She has contacted him about her interest.

And yet  tonight he said, "No one has approached me about re-opening the search."  

Why would he tell a lie like that when he knows it can be proven otherwise?

Could it be because the potential candidate is a woman? Or is it that this is a potential candidate that Cannon knows he can't bully?   Or is it because Cannon has become cranky and argumentative after losing the Council presidency? Or could it be because Carl Anderton & Jake Day have made under the table promises to support Cannon's political goals or rental property regulations?

Why would Canon, McCain, & Hastings  argue against re-opening the search if they know they have an opportunity to interview another very well qualified candidate?   Why limit it to Anderton and Ennis if neither could get a majority vote last week?  Why not interview another candidate to ensure  the best qualified person is appointed to the job?  

This has already been ugly to watch and the council has made a mess of the County Executive appointment.  No potentially good people want to get into a divisive circus like this.  Very likely that will happen with the latest well qualified potential candidate.  What a shame.

Quite Frankly The City of Salisbury AND Wicomico County Makes Me Sick

When I sit back and think about all the abuse and attacks President Trump receives on a daily basis, then think about the fact that this patriot donates his entire salary to pay it forward, that's an AMERICAN! 

Like our great President we watched four people step up to the plate to fill in as County Executive after Bob Culver's death. Joe Holloway had to walk away from the opportunity because they couldn't advance any council member to a higher position, just plain stupid. 

Then this Doctor steps up and refuses to give up his practice. Instead of disqualifying him, someone came out with an alleged affair and pressured him to walk away from the job. You know what, he too is a pansy ass and I for one am very glad to see him run away with his tail between his legs. 

So now we have Michele Ennis and Carl Anderton left. We can all argue who's the better qualified candidate BUT WAIT!!! Now the Council, (Idiots) want to open the door again for 45 days in the hope they can encourage yet another Good Ol' Boy because Mike Dunn, the Greater Salisbury Committee started screaming like a little baby along with Jake Day's Father.

This Council knows Michele Ennis is more then qualified but like my original article about her stated, they refuse to have a woman, ANY woman have a more powerful position. They're Idiots! They'd rather hire some jackass Dr. that has never handled budgets, grants, the whole nine yards because they're scared of a woman. 

Like our great President, Michele would be taking a pay cut because she loves this County where she was born and raised her entire life. 18 years of dedicated service to the County and not one council member nominated her for the position.

You people should ring the phones off the hook demanding they stop this ridiculous and childish behavior and choose between these qualified candidates and make a final decision. The next step is to encourage a completely new group of people interested in running for county council positions and run every one of these bums out of office. If you can't CLEARLY see the games they're playing then you are as blind as a bat. There are no DO OVER's in real life!

Remember, this position comes up for election in a year and a half. We have a process for a reason, yet this council continues to buck that system/process on a very regular basis. Enough is enough!

Will The Wicomico County Council Come Out Of The Dark Ages And Actually Consider A WOMAN For County Executive?

That's right Ladies & Gentleman, Michele Ennis has formally put her hat in the ring to be considered as the next Wicomico County Executive. And why not, she's by far the most qualified and knows everything there is to know about the County after being employed there for almost 18 years.

However, the spite from the men on the County Council makes her a major underdog. Why, because she's more educated and experienced. So a NO from the Council simply means they're extremely afraid of a, get this, WOMAN! 

I say, why not give her a chance. Why not let the taxpayers see if in fact a woman is qualified to do the job. However, what I see is these men running scared of an educated woman who would finish Bob Culver's legacy. The mere fact that Michele applied for the job, (which would pay her far less then she was making and or WAY less in the private sector) simply proves she loves Wicomico County. Did you know she was born and raised here. You may not know a lot about Michele and in fact I just may hold off telling you her total background until after they Council make their appointment because I want to show you just how stupid these men are and how these council members do not have the taxpayers best interest at heart. 

It's time to come out of the dark ages. It's time a qualified woman be considered for such positions. Remember, I said QUALIFIED. Not like Salisbury Mayor Jake Day did by hiring non qualified people in top positions, Michele is qualified and experienced. We now live in an era where woman are starting to be seriously considered and finally respected. That's a good thing. However, there are a lot of "Old School" men in power holding back qualified women and that needs to change, especially locally. 

It should be noted that Delegate Carl Anderton has also put his name in to be considered.

Hey Joe here is a story that hasn't broke about the child porn distribution. The 66 year old Richard rathel currently is the volunteer president of SFD station 2. I also like to add that he is the second Retired Salisbury firefighter that has been arrested or convicted for child crimes the 1st being retired salisbury paramedic Bruce Fowler. Both of these Gentlemen served together back in the late SFD when SFD had so many retire back in 03. Just a little less service time between the 2. Richard rathel son also was terminated for misconduct involving a female and gang reflex on the back of a SFD ambulance. Seems to me that apparently SFD has a lot of hidden sexual secrets and maybe some investigation and enlightenment by SBY news would be much more better read then the article WMDT posted.

Seems as though the local leaders in Salisbury and wicomico county are all either caving in or trying to cash in on the endless racial division. It seems as though Bill and Ruth Cropper of the uprising church in Hebron Maryland are the latest to run salt in the open wounds in downtown Salisbury. They are organizing a prayer vigil in support of the Black lives matter terrorist and Jake Day's LGBT community. They have the audacity to do this at the very sure where Bob Culver caved in and removed the infamous "Winder sign" and of all days July 4th. For those of us that have had the misfortune to have had dealings with this idiot Bill Cropper we know this ridiculous gesture is more about his attempt to recapture his five minutes of success and local fame. It seems as though Salisbury has no leaders left that have any backbone to find neutrality in such trying times to bring healing and people together. It's not the response time of the police that should upset her. It's not that the store didn't lock the man inside that should upset her. She should also not be upset about the reaction of Caucasian customers who walked out without buying👍. She SHOULD be mad at Jake Day and I'll tell you why.

How many kids in Liz Day's school are growing up with a parent in prison because of a drug crime? How many children have a parent who can't get a good job or an apartment because of a drug conviction? These same children have to be subjected to their teacher, the wife of the mayor, pressuring them to buy their prescription meds. Not just pressuring them into a crime under fear they will be targeted or that their grades will suffer but also depriving them of THEIR medication prescribed by a doctor. While some of these children are suffering from their parents bad decisions Liz Day's bad decisions are just swept under the rug. It's clearly stating, "I write the rules but they don't apply to me". If it was ANYONE else they would have to put their house up to make bail. If they couldn't they would be held until they lost their job, their house, their car and then forced to go before the jury in an orange jumpsuit and shackles. Jake's kids won't have to grow up without mommy, but if the tables were turned yours would.

Barbara was out there to. Barbara who could almost run a full time bus from Salisbury mall to the police station for all the petty shoplifting arrests while her own force has been stealing from the evidence room for 20 YEARS! Again swept under the rug. The rules don't apply to us.

UPDATE: Wicomico County Salisbury To Shut Down Government At 4:30 Today

UPDATE: The county has changed their closing time to 4:00 instead.

That's right, the GOB will close their doors at 4:30 today because of a large BLM protest at 5 PM. 

Lock your doors folks, this could get interesting. Will Chief Barbara Duncan be on her knees? We all know Jake Day will be on his knees because, well, that's what he's good at. 

I have my popcorn and drink all set to go just waiting for all the calls and pictures to come in.

Boy This Mayor Jake Day Is A Real Piece Of Crap

I guess since he blocked me years ago from Facebook he figured he could slip one by in the hopes I won't see it but little does this guy realize he has lots of people who cannot stand his agenda.

There is no question there are racist people here on the Shore and I would gladly, unconditionally welcome a visit from Jake Day where I can show him my spam folder so he can see literally hundreds of thousands of rejected comments. If you think what you are seeing is bad, you should see that spam folder. However, I am not one of them, racist. 

Jake Day and Jim Ireton, like little girls, do not call me out by name nor do they call out Salisbury News because they know for a fact they can be sued for defamation. That's cool though, everyone knows I am the only blogger/blog worth any kind of recognition and any Judge knows that. Nevertheless, it truly is sad that so many people have so much hate. I wonder where it really started?

I'll go back to the Barry Tilghman days with Debbie Campbell. The HATE spewed on that council with Mike Dunn was where it all started. That guy would publicly insult Debbie and verbally attack her simply because she disagreed and or produced evidence that blocked their agenda. That is when SBYNews was created and they have always called me every kind of name under the sun, just like they did Debbie. Why, because I had my 1st Amendment Right to Freedom Of Speech and that killed them. So much so Mayor Tilghman actually filed a lawsuit against me in which the Judge smacked her case down on ALL charges. 

So don't you people, (especially Jake Day) go around calling me a racist. My Website is now worth a LOT of money and defaming me could cost you millions of dollars. You can hide, (like I said) by saying blogger or blog but I can assure you it will cost you dearly.

I'll never forget the time the NAACP called me in as former Mayor Jim Ireton told them I was a racist. Jim sent Mary Ashonte several articles I had posted of which appeared to be very racist. Mary brought in 4 or 5 outside NAACP Presidents throughout the state in the HOPE of slamming me down as a racist. While I brought two witnesses to this meeting we sat down at computers and reviewed each of these articles and Mary would say, did you publish this, YES. After reviewing ALL the articles we adjourned to a conference room where Mary tried to intimidate me by saying, HOW DARE YOU PUBLISH SUCH RACIST ARTICLES! I started laughing ad she said, SO YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY! I immediately replied, it's hilarious! I looked at the other NAACP representatives and said, did you guys actually READ the articles? They replied, (with a smile) yes. I looked at Mary and asked her the same question, she was clearly confused and said, "I scanned them". I replied, every one of these articles were written by A BLACK MAN! Ben Carson, and such. Mary replied, "WELL BLACK PEOPLE CAN BE RACIST TOO!" I immediately got up and left. And that's the TRUTH. I guess someone will call me a racist now because I left the room in disgust.

Finally, STOP trying to DEFLECT your problems at HOME Jake and turning a non issue into a racist rant. Shame on you Jake Day!

They're Calling ME Racist

Today I published an article announcing a protest in Downtown Salisbury. I have received numerous phone calls with threats of all sorts. Because I publish an article I am called a racist. Good Lord, does the African American community actually and truly know who and what a racist is? 

I was told, you moderate the comments, you can control this. So I am to reject ANYTHING anyone says that offends that community and since I am not, (in which I am rejecting many racist out of line comments)  I'm racist.

No, I happen to be the only one out there with the ability to reach a far larger audience then the locally CONTROLLED media and I'll simply say this. An elderly white couple was in a Veterans Cemetery in southern Delaware a couple weeks ago when a young black man with a rifle shot them both dead. No protests, no riots, NOTHING. Now I in no way condoning what those officers did to that man and I firmly believe they murdered him. They should pay the price but while MY NAME is on this article and while I do not hide behind anonymous, what I am seeing around this country is flat out disgusting! I do not sit here as a tough guy, I simply tell it the way I see it. There ARE crimes from the African American community against white people as well. Act accordingly, grieve accordingly and find a peaceful way to mourn. 

I'll add, look at the type of comments that are coming out against me.

That's the kind of stuff being said on Facebook. The bottom line, one can only hope this is a peaceful protest. Do I truly think Chief Duncan will get on her knees like so many other coward police chiefs, absolutely. Do I think Jake Day will/would do the same, absolutely. How that makes me a racist I'll never know. That's what I was accused of during one of the many phone calls I got today. I guess whenever people feel the need they can simply scream racist and you are labeled for life. Grow up people.

Is it "racist" of me to call the Mayor and Chief of Police out for violating NO SOCIAL DISTANCING and not wearing a mask in a crowd of more than 10 people? You see Folks, it is evidence like this that pisses off the Boy Mayor when I produce hard evidence. That Idiot Mayor is the one publishing his own crap because he's an Idiot. While a City Employee just died of the Coronavirus and the City refused to pay for his funeral these Idiots are out there just asking for trouble and setting a very poor example. Was It RACIST For The City/County To Shut Down The GOB?

OK, so Thursday I put up an article simply stating the GOB was being close that afternoon ultimately at 4:00 and I was called a racist. Lord only knows what I personally said that made me out to be a racist but when it comes to any Liberal you can look at them wrong and those pansies will throw up their arms and scream, DON'T SHOOT! 

So while I'm utterly confused at to why anyone, (mainly Mayor Jake Day) would call me a racist I'd truly like to know why Jake and all his stupid friends didn't call him and the City's other co owners of that building out as racists because they felt the desperate need to get EVERYONE out of that building before, (let's be nice now) protesters showed up. 

Now I'm sure you could say that they shut it down so cars didn't get blocked in and whatever other kind of idea they might come up with but let's get real here people, they were skeered, (eastern shore for scared). 

So when you hear Jake and his pack of rainbow banner followers calling me a racist simply because I said he might take a knee at the protest, THINK about the fact that HE/THEY shut down the local government by allowing this protest to happen during a very scary time, (in their eyes, not mine) and ran like a bat out of hell. 

IF the protest was intended to be so peaceful and they weren't skeered they wouldn't have shut it down. Plain and simple.
