Possible Minor Injuries Reported When Crop Duster Catches Fire After Failed Take Off On Eastern Shore

(CHESTERTOWN, MD) — No serious injuries were reported by the pilot of a small crop dusting plane that caught fire after a failed take-off this afternoon in Kent County.

The pilot is identified as Martin Stoken, 30, of Felton, DE. Fire officials told troopers Stoken had possible minor injuries, but did not require transport to a hospital.

The plane involved is a Grumman Ag Cat G164A crop dusting plane. The plane is owned by Delmarva Aerial Crop Service in Marydel, Md.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m. today, Maryland State Police at the Centreville Barrack were dispatched to the report of a plane crash at a farm in the 10000-block of Flatland Road, Chestertown, Md. Arriving troopers found the plane fully engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished by area fire department personnel. The scene was on a farm in a rural area. The farm owners did not witness the crash and no one on the ground was injured.

The preliminary investigation indicates the pilot reported he had safely performed an emergency landing at the farm yesterday. After a mechanic worked on the plane, the pilot took off from the farm field today shortly after 2:30 p.m. Upon take-off, the plane lost power and hit a car trailer and a piece of farm equipment before landing upright on the ground. The pilot got out of the plane on his own. The plane caught fire after the pilot left the aircraft. Troopers reported the plane was significantly damaged by the fire.

State Police notified officials from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board. FAA officials said they would be responding to the scene tomorrow.

DNC Just Admited: "WE. JUST. LOST."

We’re in over our heads.

- Trump is dominating Hillary Clinton in the polls.
- We’re getting massively outspent by Republican dark money.
- And House Republicans have their largest cash-on-hand EVER for this point in the election.

To be honest -- without a surge in grassroots support today, we’ll lose before the polls even open.

Salisbury Theatre Experience Ruined By Unruly Teens

Mark S. Thompson

I hope everyone shares my post until it reaches those who need to hear it. I have never been as embarrassed as I was last night by a group of middle school youth from Wicomico and Worcester counties. I rarely go to the movies because of the high cost to watch this stuff, but last night I felt like doing something different and go see "Sully", something that didn’t have sex, violence and foul language on big screen, But as I was leaving around 9:30pm, there was more foul language than I wanted to see by these young children. At least 15 of our children are cursing at the attendants from the Regal Cinema staff and the Wicomico County Sheriff Deputies over not being able to see an "R" rated movie, without their parents or a responsible adult. That’s right, over 15 middle school age youth, under 15 were out by themselves causing a lot disturbance in front of everyone at the theater. I was so embarrassed I had to go over to the counter and tell them to stop this foolishness and go home!! They started to try and tell me to get out their face until I told them I'm with the school system and pulled up one of their home information on my phone!!! That caused them to want to know who I was. I told them too late, I will see them at their school on Monday! Who in the world would take young children to the movies, purchase "R" rated movie tickets then leave them to hang out until after 11pm unchaperoned!!! Please don’t tell me their parents did this!! I commend the sheriff’s there last night for their composure, even when a little girl actually had to be restrained when she pushed at the officer. Last night could have gone very ugly and there would have been FB posts all over the place talking about police mishandling youth...But these youth are getting out of control late at night all by themselves. Parents, guardians, caregivers, whoever you are that are responsible for young children, we need to step up our game and help mold our children in a positive direction!! Watching “When the Bough Breaks” is not moving our children in a positive direction!! We can only blame ourselves if we continue to allow children to act like adults and we as adults stand around and do nothing. There were many adults there last night but no one wanted to get involved. What is happening now is parents/adults don’t want to discipline their children. Dr. Julia Hare (please checkout youtube) said, “discipline is gone because everyone is afraid, the teachers are afraid of the principal, the principal is afraid of the superintendent, the superintendent is afraid of the school board, the school board is afraid of the parents, the parents are afraid of the kids and the kids ARE AFRAID OF NO ONE!!! We can’t keep allowing our children to act like this…Some parents will receive calls from me this week!! But in the meantime, I need some people to help me help our community. We do not need law enforcement to solve our problems, lets pull together as a community as a village and raise our children right!! Contact me to help.

Elementary School Teachers To Wear Black Lives Matter Shirts

Seattle, Washington – John Muir Elementary teachers in Seattle will be wearing Black Lives Matter t-shirts at school on September 16th. The school is a K-5 school in the Seattle Public School district.

Third grade teacher Marjorie Lamarre told King 5 News, “To be silent would be almost unforgivable, and I think we have been silent for almost too long.”

The idea for the shirts came from teacher Jennifer Whitney, which will feature the schools name along with “Black Lives Matter, We Stand Together.” Whitney said, “It is part of the oppression, the systemic oppression that continues on.”

It’s likely that the Seattle Public School district and many of the teachers are unaware of what Black Lives Matter is. Most people are under the impression that Black Lives Matter is a civil rights group, where they are actually a political group whose stated goals include:

Ocean City Firefighters Outraged Over Union Reps Petitioning 9/11 Ceremony Yesterday

Union representatives carried clipboards yesterday attempting to garnish signatures at the 9/11 ceremony for collective bargaining. Several Firefighters shared their disgust with me stating they have no respect for these people. There's a time and a place, this is not right.

A Viewer Writes: Boardwalk owner refuses to give fire fighter ice for heat exhaustion

To all who spend time and money on Ocean City Maryland boardwalk, I was attending the September 911 memorial ceremonies when a first responder fire fighter in full dress, became overwhelmed with the heat I walked over to him and said I would try to get him a small bag of ice.

I walked over to the shop near Division Street and politely asked him if he could spare a small bag of ice and he said with a heavy foreign accent he has to buy the ice so I offered to buy it from him, in which he refused. I think this is deplorable not just the fact that this man would give without asking for anything to help you in a time of need, but you couldn't sell a small bag of ice. If this is the type of person that we are letting into this country STAY HOME. We don't need you, nor want you!

I will not spend one penny in his shop and I hope others will read this post and follow my lead.

A Viewer Writes: Brewington/Trump

Mr. Albero,

I was wondering if you also found it particularly fascinating that Ms. Brewington, the same woman who called Trump supporters "Trumptards" (http://sbynews.blogspot.com/2016/04/wicomico-county-republican-central.html) is now the county co-chair for him?? (see attached screenshot).

I just figured you'd find this interesting, I know this "Trumptard" did.

Thanks for all you do!

Eagles players plan protest during anthem Monday

THE NATIONAL conversation that began in the preseason when 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick elected to sit down for the national anthem will continue when the Eagles take the field Monday night in Chicago, veteran safety Malcolm Jenkins said.

Jenkins told 94 WIP radio hosts Glen Macnow and Jody McDonald Friday evening that he and teammates expect to make a symbolic gesture during the anthem.

"For me, it has nothing to do with this country, or the flag or the anthem itself - really, it's just to continue to push forward the conversation about social injustice . . . that's a range of things from police brutality to wages and job opportunities, education. It's just a lot of things systematically that have been set up in this country, since its inception, that really put minorities, especially African Americans, at a disadvantage, when you talk about quality of life, and actually growing in this country," Jenkins said.

NFL star shamed online after leaving a 75c tip at a restaurant in Maryland

Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams has caused a Twitter storm after it emerged he left a 75 cent tip to a server on $129 bill at a Maryland pizzeria.

The star's waitress at Ledo Restaurant took to Facebook to vent her dismay at the pitiful tip she received on the weekend after he indulged in fried calamari and Sicilian sausage, among other dishes, according to the receipt.

'Just now at work I had Deangelo Williams come in and I waited on while tending bar. His check was $128.25. He left me $129 with no tip but .75 cents. So there you go Stealers fans, your running back is cheap as s***!!! Smh,' wrote the bartender in a post that has now been deleted.

Baltimore officials announce Gun Violence Enforcement Division

Baltimore's two top law enforcement officials are assembling a team of "elite" prosecutors and police detectives to secure convictions against violent gun offenders, they said Wednesday.

What is being called the Gun Violence Enforcement Division, to be housed within the office of Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn J. Mosby, could involve as many as 13 prosecutors.

Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said the Police Department will contribute at least one sergeant and four detectives, all of whom have specialized training and experience with gun violence.

Authorities have created similar partnerships in the past, but Mosby said the new team will have the added benefit of intelligence gathered in the last year — including a list of 602 identified "trigger pullers" — to target specific individuals.

Trump camp acknowledges Obama born in U.S., blames Clinton for ‘birther’ issue

Donald Trump’s campaign moved to take the “birther” issue off the plate by releasing a statement Thursday night acknowledging that Barack Obama was born in the U.S. and even taking credit for solving the issue.

The statement accuses the Hillary Clinton campaign of bringing up the issue in the first place and says Mr. Trump deserves credit for having put the factual issue to rest by getting Mr. Obama to release his long-form birth certificate.

“Having successfully obtained President Obama’s birth certificate when others could not, Mr. Trump believes that President Obama was born in the United States,” said Jason Miller, the Trump campaign’s senior communications adviser.

Ford moving all US small-car production to Mexico

Ford Motor Co. on Wednesday announced it is shifting all of its North American small-car production from the U.S. to Mexico.

“Over the next two to three years, we will have migrated all of our small-car production to Mexico and out of the United States,” CEO Mark Fields told investors in Dearborn, Mich., according to The Detroit Free Press.

Ford pledged earlier this year it would invest $1.6 billion in small-car production in Mexico.

Fox Business Network said the automaker has made record pretax profit over the past 18 months, with the company on pace to bring in $10.2 billion in 2016.

Ford expects profits to decline next year as it invests in vehicle development, it said, but hopes to improve its financial results by 2018.

Marine OWNS the NFL with BRUTAL letter to commissioner

Folks, I do not need to add a single word to this…other than it came to me through a retired military email network. You need to read it.

Commissioner,

I’ve been a season pass holder at Yankee Stadium, Yale Bowl and Giants Stadium.

I missed the ’90-’91 season because I was with a battalion of Marines in Desert Storm. 14 of my wonderful Marines returned home with the American Flag draped across their lifeless bodies. My last conversation with one of them, Sgt Garrett Mongrella, was about how our Giants were going to the Super Bowl. He never got to see it.

Many friends, Marines, and Special Forces Soldiers who worked with or for me through the years returned home with the American Flag draped over their coffins.

Now I watch multi-millionaire athletes who never did anything in their lives but play a game, disrespect what brave Americans fought and died for. They are essentially spitting in the faces and on the graves of real men, men who have actually done something for this country beside playing with a ball and believing they’re something special! They’re not! My Marines and Soldiers were!

You are complicit in this!

Harry Reid Throws Tantrum Over Trump on Senate Floor

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid blasted Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump from the floor of the Senate on Thursday calling him a “con artist,” a “spoiled brat,” and a “human leech.”

Reid joins former President Bill Clinton, President Obama, and other high-profile Democrats who have been attacking Trump while Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton recovers after passing out during the 9/11 ceremony in NYC on Sunday.

“Trump is a human leech who will bleed the country and sit at his golf resort laughing at the money he has made, even though working people have been hurt and ruined,” Reid said echoing President Obama’s comments in Philadelphia on Tuesday. “Trump doesn’t understand the middle class. How could he? How could he understand working people, because he’s only out for Donald Trump.”

The tirade was vintage Reid who has become known for his vitriolic and partisan speeches from the Senate floor. “He [Trump] is a spoiled brat, raised in plenty, who inherited a fortune and used his money to make more money,” ranted Reid. “And he did a lot of it by swindling working men and women.”

Reid is serving out his final months in the Senate after not seeking reelection in Nevada this year. Reid also told the Washington Post in an interview published Wednesday that Trump couldn’t get a gaming license — a claim that even the Washington Post had to correct.

Tow Companies Seek Rate Hike In Ocean City

OCEAN CITY — Towing rates in Ocean City, which have remained unchanged for eight years, could be going up next year if a unified group of industry leaders in the area gets their way.

About a dozen unified tow company operators in the resort area urged the Police Commission Monday to consider their request for a hike in the rate schedule for tows in the resort area. The town’s code currently sets the maximum rate for a standard tow at $150, a figure that has been in place since 2008, but the tow company operators are seeking a graduated, across-the-board hike by as much as 100 percent in some cases.

The tow company operators cited an increase in their fixed costs over the last eight years or so, along with other changes in the market, as the reason for the proposed tow rate increase. For example, while the town code sets the maximum for a standard tow at $150, the tow operators are seeking an increase to $250 for a standard tow, $285 for a DWI tow and as much as $325 for a more complicated accident tow.

They are also seeking an increase in the standard rate for the storage of a towed vehicle. Currently, the code calls for a storage fee of $10 for the first day and $15 for each additional day, but the request change could see that figure increased to $60 to $70 per day, depending on whether the towed vehicle is stored inside or outside, for example.

2 City-Owned Confederate Monuments To Be Moved, 2 Others To Be Kept

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake on Wednesday announced what the future holds for four city-owned Confederate monuments on public land.

The announcement comes following a report submitted by the mayor's special commission on the issue. The four Confederate monuments that were evaluated were the Confederate Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Mount Royal Avenue near Mosher Street; the Confederate Women's Monument at Bishop Square Park; the Roger B. Taney Monument at Mt. Vernon Place; and the Lee & Jackson Monument at Wyman Park Dell.

“I would like to personally thank the Commission members and City staff who took on this important task. I also want to thank the citizens of Baltimore and other interested parties who attended hearings and submitted testimony regarding these monuments,” Rawlings-Blake said in a statement. “This took great courage and skill. I hope that their efforts can become a model for other jurisdictions throughout the country on how to create an impartial, fair, and democratic process to address complex issues of history and race.”

John Kerry’s State Department Funneled MILLIONS To His Daughter’s Nonprofit

More than $9 million of Department of State money has been funneled through the Peace Corps to a nonprofit foundation started and run by Secretary of State John Kerry’s daughter, documents obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation show.

The Department of State funded a Peace Corps program created by Dr. Vanessa Kerry and officials from both agencies, records show. The Peace Corps then awarded the money without competition to a nonprofit Kerry created for the program.

Initially, the Peace Corps awarded Kerry’s group — now called Seed Global Health — with a three-year contract worth $2 million of State Department money on Sept. 10, 2012, documents show. Her father was then the chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, which oversees both the Department of State and the Peace Corps.

Black Lives Matter Armed Protest Over Darren Seals Death

Following last week’s murder of Ferguson activist Darren Seals, on Sunday armed protesters marched through the Central West End neighborhood in a show of force, blaming police for the death of Seals.

Seals was a member of the Black Lives Matter movement and a main protest leader and organizer in Ferguson in 2014. Last week his body was discovered in a burning vehicle where he had been fatally shot before the vehicle was set ablaze. Police have labeled the death as a homicide, but investigators have yet to release any new information about their leads.

Video footage from Sunday shows a group of 20 to 30 people walking along residential streets on their way to the area’s business district, chanting “Who killed Darren Seals?” and “Defend black lives.” Several people in the protest are carrying rifles and shotguns while openly declared their affiliation with Revolutionary Black Panther Party. Wearing tactical vests, the armed group chanted “F*** the pigs” and “Free us — or you die cracka” as they walked.

Larry Hogan’s recipe for sky-high popularity

DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKERS in Maryland are a frustrated lot. Having run what amounted to a one-party state for all but four of the past 45 years, they are now bewildered by a popular Republican governor. Some of them regard Gov. Larry Hogan as a crafty illusionist whose main asset is good fortune. In fact, Mr. Hogan has been shrewd about one big thing: perfectly reading the state’s political mood.

Mr. Hogan, who never ran for statewide office before his 2014 gubernatorial campaign, enjoys phenomenal poll numbers. In one recent survey, just over 70 percent of Marylanders approved of his performance, higher than almost any other governor. Even in the city of Baltimore, whose residents are about two-thirds African American and heavily Democratic, his popularity is an astonishing 72 percent.

Mr. Hogan’s secret sauce is equal parts common sense, humility and cunning. He has had the common sense to oppose his party’s presidential nominee, Donald Trump, and avoid no-win social issues such as abortion and gun control in a liberal state; the humility to pursue a limited agenda, focusing on modest trims to taxes and spending; and the cunning to make — or let — the state’s Democratic grandees look partisan and churlish.

Homicide Investigation Underway In Worcester Co.

(Pocomoke, MD) – Maryland State Police homicide investigators are investigating an apparent double murder suicide of three found dead in a Worcester County home early this morning.

The victims are identified as Marvin Wilmer. Purnell, 78, and Karen E. Purnell, 53, of the 2200-block of Groton Road, Pocomoke, MD. Both of the victims’ bodies will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. Investigators anticipate the autopsy will verify the cause and manner of death.

The suspect is identified as Marvin Desmond Purnell, 46, of the 2200-block of Groton Road, Pocomoke, MD. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m. today, deputies from the Worcester Sherriff’s Department responded to a call to the Purnell residence to check on the welfare of Karen. Karen’s friend had not heard from her for some time and physically responded to the Purnell residence. Karen’s friend contacted the Worcester Sherriff’s Department after receiving no answer and smelling a very strong disturbing odor coming from the residence.

When deputies arrived at the home, they found it to be secure from the outside, with no signs of forced entry. Deputies attempted to make contact with someone inside the residence. As deputies continued attempts to make contact they heard the voice of a male. Deputies asked the male to open the door and the male failed to comply with commands to open the door.

Deputies were able to retrieve a key to the Purnell residence and gained access. Deputies found two decomposing bodies, later identified as Marvin Wilmer. and Karen, lying on the kitchen floor and a third body in the hallway opposite the kitchen, later identified as Marvin Desmond. After observing the three bodies, deputies exited the home for safety and to setup a perimeter.

Deputies attempted to contact Marvin Desmond by cell phone and loud speaker. The efforts continued for approximately one hour. Deputies deployed a CS gas canister through a window located on the west end of the residence in an attempt to force any occupant out of the residence. As a result of the CS canister being deployed a fire ignited in the residence. The Pocomoke Fire Department responded to the scene to extinguish the fire.

Deputies and fire fighters entered the residence and extricated the body of Marvin Desmond. A rifle was located beneath his body. Examination of Marvin Desmond revealed what appeared to be single gunshot wound. The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit was requested to respond and take the lead on this investigation. Additional assistance is being provided by State Police Criminal Enforcement Division investigators and the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators have been interviewing witnesses and residents in the area throughout the day. Crime scene evidence has been transported to the State Police Forensic Sciences Division crime laboratory for analysis. State Police crime scene technicians processed the scene. This investigation continues.

Americans' Trust In Mass Media Plunges To Record Low

In yesterday’s post, The Death of Mainstream Media, I noted:

At the end of the day, I have concluded that my focus on Hillary as of late (vs. Trump) has as much to with my disgust for the mainstream media as anything else. To see these organs, which have destroyed this country by keeping the people uninformed for decades, now rally around a sickly, corrupt, oligarch coddling politician as the empire enters the collapse stage is simply too much to stomach...

The only positive thing to happen during this election season is the death of mainstream media. With their insufferable propaganda fully exposed, there is no coming back.

Then today, we learned the following from Gallup:

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Americans’ trust and confidence in the mass media “to report the news fully, accurately and fairly” has dropped to its lowest level in Gallup polling history, with 32% saying they have a great deal or fair amount of trust in the media. This is down eight percentage points from last year.

Here’s a chart.
