Investigation Is the First Step in Holding China Accountable

As America recovers from the Wuhan coronavirus, it’s important to figure out just what the heck happened. This is not to determine whether the People’s Republic of China should pay a price — Beijing’s cover-up of the initial outbreak has definitively answered that question in the affirmative — but it will determine exactly what price it pays.

Here’s the deal: If the coronavirus emerged from a wet market and all the ChiCom government did was cover it up during the early stages, that’s one level of guilt. The cover-up showed signs of a depraved indifference to human life. However, if, as some reports suggest, the virus was being studied and released in a lab accident that was covered up, that warrants a harsher level of payback. If the virus was created in the lab and accidentally released, an even harsher level of payback would be necessary.

This is where losing that spy ring during the Obama administration hurts so badly. We could really use human intelligence sources who could gather information on what happened in Wuhan. As of now, we’re wholly dependent on what we can pick up from independent journalists and whistleblowers … and we know China works very hard to censor those.

Investigating the World Health Organization is just as important...

3 found dead in NYC hotel for discharged coronavirus hospital patients

Three deaths were reported over the weekend at a hotel in New York City's Times Square that was being used as quarantine quarters for recovering coronavirus hospital patients.

The NYPD reported that a 42-year-old man and a 70-year-old man were found dead in separate rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn on West 37th Street on Saturday, Fox 5 New York reported.

Trump Video Mocking Obama Endorsement of Biden More Popular Than Obama's Speech

Here's some rather delicious irony that shows why Trump's popularity is undimmed by criticism of his pandemic response.

A parody video of Barack Obama's endorsement of Joe Biden for president has outshone the video of Obama's speech backing his former vice president. Fox News reports that the Obama endorsement video received 10.2 million views on YouTube in the last week while the parody pro-Trump video got 10.3 million views in 13 hours.

The video – which was not produced by the campaign – parodies an Allstate commercial with the insurance company's spokesman Dennis Haysbert watching a basketball game with his friends before a commercial of Haysbert advertising Allstate appears on the screen. In the original ad, Haysbert's friends implore him to change the channel, which he does, only to find another Allstate ad starring himself.

In the video Trump tweeted, Obama's head is obviously superimposed over Haysbert's, and instead of an Allstate commercial, a fake Biden ad appears on the TV when the basketball game goes to commercial.

"The kids used to come up and reach in the pool and rub my leg down so it was straight and then watch the hair come back up again," Biden says in the fake ad. "I learned about kids jumping on my lap, and I loved kids jumping on my lap."

Fears Of Nationwide 9MM Ammo Shortage Sparks Panic Hoarding

The evolution of Americans panic hoarding during the COVID-19 pandemic has ultimately led to the stocking up on guns and ammo.

Gun shop owners report while there are no weapon shortages yet, a run on ammo has undoubtedly been seen across the country.

We first documented the run on guns and ammo in mid-March, identifying shops across many states with long lines of patrons, waiting to get their hands on AR-15s, shotguns, and handguns, along with the ammo for each respective weapon.

“The Top of the FBI Was Scum – You’ll Find Out What I’m Going to Do” – President Trump Goes Off on Corrupt Deep State ‘Scum’ at Presser

President Trump defended General Flynn and Roger Stone today the daily coronavirus press conference calling out the former FBI leaders “scum” for trying to take him out.
Trump was right to call this coup attempt a “disgrace.” He’s being kind.

Reporter: Have you thought of pardoning Paul Manafort or Roger Stone so they’re not exposed to the virus.

President Trump: Well I’ll just tell you this. Roger Stone was treated very unfairly. Paul Manafort, the black-book turned out to be a fraud. e learned that out during the last weeks and months. They had a black-book that came out of Ukraine an d it happened to be a fraud. Turned out to be a fraud. They convicted a man and it turned out to be a fraud. General Flynn was a highly respected person and it turned out to be a scam on him. The FBI said he didn’t lie. And Mueller’s people wanted him to go to jail. So what am I going to do? You’ll find out what I’m going to do. I’m not going to say what I’m going to do. But I will tell you the whole thing turned out to be a scam. And it turned out to be a disgrace to our country. And it was a takedown of a duly elected president. And these people suffered greatly. General Flynn! I mean what they did to him… The top of the FBI was scum and what they did to General Flynn and you know it and everybody knows it was a disgrace!

Mark Zuckerberg unveils Facebook's new coronavirus tracking site

Mark Zuckerberg unveils Facebook's new coronavirus tracking site with map created from people self-reporting symptoms which he says can highlight clusters of sick people and help predict where the disease may spread to help hospitals prepare

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has unveiled a coronavirus 'heat map' powered by user data which is aimed at helping track the spread of the disease and plan for society reopening.

The map developed by researchers at Carnegie Mellon University is based on responses to surveys which ask Facebook and Google users to self-report COVID-19 symptoms.

The researchers say that the responses, when combined with other figures such as medical claims and medical testing, can provide a more comprehensive view of the coronavirus pandemic than positive tests alone - and at a faster rate.

Within the next few weeks, the researchers hope to use the data to provide forecasts that will help hospitals, first responders and other health officials anticipate the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations and ICU admits in their areas.

Dan Crenshaw WRECKS Democrat Narrative With Amazing Viral Video

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) is on a roll. After torching Bill Maher he's back with a viral video debunking Democrats' claims that the president has "blood on his hands" and "didn't do enough" to curb the spread of the Chinese virus known as COVID-19. This is a must-watch. Crenshaw illustrates perfectly with video evidence that the Democrats were actively downplaying the virus during the time they are now claiming Trump should have "done more." Not only that, but they were also criticizing him for shutting down travel from China and calling him a "racist." Is anyone actually buying their fabricated stories and do they know they were on tape? It's difficult to watch them try to gaslight us while we can look on YouTube and find them saying the opposite just three short months ago. Crenshaw has wrapped it all up in a nicely shareable package, so get out there and share it.

BRILLIANT, A MUST WATCH! @RepDanCrenshawpic.twitter.com/W6pGsJQ2ua

Trump demands Harvard return $8.6M grant from $2.3 trillion stimulus but Ivy League college vows to KEEP it, as Steve Mnuchin warns big business to give bailout cash back now

Donald Trump late on Tuesday demanded Harvard University give back an $8.6 million grant it received as part of a stimulus package amid coronavirus.

The stand off came amid outrage that well off institutions and companies were taking advantage of the government's $2.3 trillion stimulus, passed at the end of March, despite having reserves of their own.

The president tweeted after the Ivy League school defied his earlier order, saying it plans to keep an $8.6 million grant it received as part of an educational relief program - despite having an eye-watering $40.9 billion endowment

It has also emerged that businesses employing thousands of workers have been awarded grants under the Paycheck Protection Program, was supposed to infuse small businesses with $349 billion in emergency loans.

Large restaurants chains like Potbelly, Ruth's Chris Steak House and Taco Cabana were able to qualify despite employing thousands of workers, getting the maximum $10 million in loans.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has demanded the cash is returned.

Trump tweets satirical video of Obama shrugging off awkward Biden comments

President Trump on Monday tweeted a satirical video that shows former President Barack Obama – or rather, his head doctored onto someone else's body – shrugging off awkward comments by presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden before cutting to a Trump-Pence 2020 campaign logo.

The video – which was not produced by the campaign – parodies an Allstatecommercial showing the insurance company's spokesman Dennis Haysbert watching a basketball game with his friends before a commercial of Haysbert advertising Allstate appears on the screen. In the original ad, Haysbert's friends implore him to change the channel, which he does, only to find another Allstate ad starring himself.

Democrats Stalled Paycheck Protection Program for 'Leverage'

In an interview with CNN on Monday evening, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) tried to flip the script on the Paycheck Protection Program. After it became clear the program to help small businesses during the coronavirus crisis would run out of money quickly, Pelosi and her fellow Democrats stalled. Well, on CNN on Monday, she suggested it was all the Republicans' fault.

"When the Secretary [Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin] came and asked me for $250 billion — a quarter of a trillion dollars in 24 hours — I said, 'Well we want to see the data on how that is spent but also we want to make sure — as long as we are going to the floor — that we do so in a way that makes sure that everyone can participate in the program," she told Anderson Cooper.

"They said, no, no, no. Until about 100 hours ago, they said no. And now they've said yes," Pelosi said.

We must take steps to ensure that all who need to can participate in the Paycheck Protection Program. #FamiliesFirst @AC360pic.twitter.com/FWjIGxs8tx— Nancy Pelosi (@SpeakerPelosi) April 21, 2020

Nolte: CNN Stages Fredo’s Phony Exit from Basement Quarantine

In the annals of propaganda, CNNLOL’s cynical and dishonest attempt to turn Chris Cuomo into some kind of selfless coronavirus folk hero is the fake-newsiest fake news in all of Fakenewsdom.

Late last month, Cuomo announced he tested positive for the coronavirus and would continue to bravely host his basement-rated CNNLOL program — his hour of lies and anti-Trump propaganda and encouragement of political violence — while remaining selflessly quarantined in his basement.

So, for the last few weeks — and to the surprise of no one — Chris Cuomo made the show all about Chris Cuomo, all about his selflessness in agreeing to remain in his basement as a means to protect his wife, kids, and society at large.

He has also raged against those who violate their state’s stay-at-home orders.

Thus, with great fanfare Monday night, he walked up a flight of stairs, gushing how grateful he was to finally get out of that basement and see his family!

Only, like everything else about Cuomo, we learned this is all hypocrisy and bullsh!t.

On Easter Sunday, while still sick with the virus and therefore contagious, the New York Post reports Cuomo emerged from the basement of his Southampton home and, with his wife, kids, and a second woman, violated his quarantine, as well as New York’s stay-at-home and necessary travel orders (instituted by Cuomo’s own governor/brother Andrew) just so he could hang out at his property in East Hampton, a full half-hour away, where he’s reportedly building a home.

Coronavirus with no symptoms? Reports suggest many have unknowingly had virus

Could you have been infected with the novel coronavirus but not have known it, having reported no symptoms?

It’s possible, as new reports suggest that many people have experienced the virus in this way, meaning COVID-19 may be less deadly than initially believed but ultimately complicating efforts to “re-open” the nation.

The news comes after reports of asymptomatic cases throughout the country, ranging from a homeless shelter in Boston to pregnant women in a New York hospital. Similar stories have emerged in Europe and in California, and even on a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier, the Associated Press reported.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says some 25 percent of cases are asymptomatic. But the Vice-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. John Hyten, estimated that these types of cases among military personnel alone could be as high as 70 percent.

To date, more than 2 million people around the world have been infected with the virus. But with asymptomatic cases possibly being higher than first thought, “we have just been off the mark by huge, huge numbers” for estimating total infections, Dr. Michael Mina of Harvard’s School of Public Health told the Associated Press.

House Republicans Demand Pelosi Call Congress Back Into Session

House Republicans are demanding that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) call the House back into session on time, ending the weeks-long recess and returning to work, and they’re taking to the House floor Tuesday afternoon to force recognition.

The House and Senate have been in recess since the beginning of April, but many Congressional legislators — including a number of Senate Republicans — are still in Washington, D.C., handling the after-effects of passing massive coronavirus relief packages like the CARES act, which included the Paycheck Protection Program that ran out of funds last week.

Republicans, Politico reports, believe the extended recess, which has Pelosi working from her mansion in San Francisco, California (home of the $24,000 SubZero side-by-side refrigerator/freezer), is forcing them to the outside of legislative negotiations — and they want back in.

The problem, the legislators, led by Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL), say, is that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is being left to negotiate with Democratic leadership for the House and Senate — a situation that carves other legislators, like Mast and his House Republican colleagues, out of the process.

This is especially troubling for those House Republicans who feel they should have a say on any deal struck to the extend the Paycheck Protection Program, and the opportunity to object to Democrat plans to force a bill through the House without presenting it to individual Members for approval.

Small Business Relief Fund May Run Dry Again In Just Days, Bankers Say

Lawmakers haggling over a bill to replenish a small business relief fund that ran dry last week may be back in the same position in a matter of days.

Bankers responsible for doling out federal loans to small businesses amid the coronavirus pandemic are warning that a fresh cash infusion to the relief fund may run out in as little as two days, according to Politico. The Paycheck Protection Program, as the aid fund is called, ran out of its initial $350 billion allocation on Thursday.

“This is going to go within, at most, 72 hours,” Consumer Bankers Association President Richard Hunt said, referring to the $300 billion infusion in the current draft of the bill. “But the odds are more like 48 hours.”

Banking industry representatives say that the program burned through its initial cash at a rate of $50 billion per day and that the PPP needs about $1 trillion to meet the demand of hundreds of thousands of pending applications for emergency loans. American Bankers Association executive vice president James Ballentine is warning lawmakers that the next round of loans will be approved even faster as banks have become comfortable with the program’s loan process and have continued to work with small businesses on their applications while the fund has sat dry.

Democrat lawmakers blocked GOP attempts to replenish the PPP late last week and early this week.

Assateague Island National Seashore

What in the world happened here?!?!?! Did someone SERIOUSLY dump yellow latex paint in the Sinepuxent and it washed up on the bayside of Assateague Island?!?!? Of course not! All of the yellow you see in this picture is actually pine pollen!

In “pollen speak”, pine pollen is considered large (60-100 micrometers in size compared to other pollen grains, which are mostly approximately 10 micrometers) and as such, should be too heavy to travel through the air. However, to compensate to its large size, pine pollen has two air capsules that are attached to either side of the pollen grain itself; if you were to look at pine pollen under a microscope, it would look like a Mickey Mouse head with the ears being the capsules. The air capsules reduce the weight of the pollen grain and make it easier to travel though the air. When the pine pollen settles out of the air and onto the water, the same air capsules make the pollen grains buoyant, so they float on the water. As the wind blows toward shore, the grains are pushed into one another and creates what appears to be a latex paint like mass along the shoreline.

Ohio man dies from coronavirus after online posts calling it 'Bulls---' and 'Political Ploy'

An Ohio father of two children died from the coronavirus last week after previously claiming the outbreak was "Bulls---" and a "Political Ploy," according to reports.

John McDaniel, 60, of Marion County, died April 15 at a hospital in Columbus, according to the Marion Star.

He had made several posts about the coronavirus on Facebook last month before testing positive for the virus.

“Does Anybody Have the Guts to Say This COVID-19 is a Political Ploy? Asking for a Friend. Prove Me Wrong,” he wrote March 13, according to The Sun.

Discussions Continue On When, How To Open Ocean City Area; Governor Expected To Address Timelines, Phases This Week

OCEAN CITY — There appears to be continued hope for an eventual easing of some of the restrictions in place and a phased reopening of the Ocean City marketplace, but when that starts will likely be dictated by the governor and state directives.

Last Thursday, the Mayor and Council began debating the potential phased-in reopening and a return to some semblance of normalcy in the face of the lingering COVID-19 pandemic. The following day last Friday, Gov. Larry Hogan addressed the reopening issue and laid out some milestones that must be reached before any easing of restrictions and directives currently in place can even be considered.

Hogan pointed to a couple of key statistical benchmarks that should be reached before any consideration is given to easing the restrictions and gradually reopening the state and local economies. Hogan specifically pointed to the numbers of hospitalizations, coronavirus patients in intensive care and confirmed COVID-19 deaths in the state.

The governor said only if and when those key indicators showed declines for 14 straight days would any early phases of reopening be considered. However, as of Tuesday, those three key statistics continued to increase, albeit by rates considerably lower percentage-wise then in prior days and weeks. In short, the key numbers appear to be trending in the right direction, but not yet to the point to start the clock ticking on the 14-day window prescribed by Hogan last week. President Trump’s guidelines say after two weeks after downward data states should enter the first phase of reopening, including some retail store openings with crowds not to exceed 10 and schools remaining closed.

Carney: It would be difficult to open beaches in time for Memorial Day

Governor vows state won't reopen too soon 'if I have anything to do with it'

There’s a possibility Delaware beaches will be in use in time for the Memorial Day weekend, May 23 to 25, and Gov. John Carney said he “would like nothing more” — but it would be difficult, considering what must be accomplished to safely reopen the state.

“We’ll see,” Carney said at a press briefing Tuesday afternoon.

Delaware will not open too soon “if I have anything to do with it,” he vowed.

“You won’t see that here,” he said, adding that he doesn’t want to open one day too soon or delay a single day longer than necessary.

“It’s going to be a gradual reopening, and it’s going to be where people are careful about not spreading the virus. We’re not there yet. … We have a lot of work to do.

“We’re going to be guided by the situation on the ground. We’re going to follow the guidance to the extent that it makes sense.

“There must be 14 days of declining numbers of cases of the coronavirus before Phase 1 can start moving toward Phase 2, then another 14 days of declining cases,” he said.

Rand Paul speaks out against $500B rescue package, ‘no amount of bailout dollars’ will stimulate economy

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., spoke out in opposition against the $484 billion small business package that was passed in the Senate Tuesday and warned, “no amount of bailout dollars will stimulate an economy that is being strangled by quarantine.”

Paul did not block the bill that was later approved during a voice vote. The funding will replenish the Paycheck Protection Program and provide additional funding for hospitals.

“The one choice that will get our economy growing again is reopening American commerce,” Paul said. He pointed out that the virus bailouts have already cost $2 trillion and said the annual deficit this year will approach $4 trillion.

“We can’t continue on this course,” he said. “No amount of bailout dollars will stimulate an economy that is being strangled by quarantine.”

He continued, “This economic calamity will only be resolved when we begin to reopen the economy.”

McConnell: Democrats Shut Down Small Business Aid for 2 Weeks for ‘Leverage’

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) slammed Democrat leadership on Tuesday for taking two weeks to agree to additional funding for small businesses.

McConnell said in a statement on Tuesday:

I am just sorry that it took my colleagues in Democratic leadership 12 days to accept the inevitable, and that they shut down emergency support for Main Street in a search for partisan ‘leverage’ that never materialized. The American people are counting on Congress to put aside reflexive partisanship and work across the aisle to help our nation through this pandemic.

Congressional leaders and the Donald Trump administration agreed to a new deal that would provide for $484 billion in aid to small businesses, hospitals, and additional coronavirus testing. The Senate will vote on Tuesday, hoping to approve the bill by voice vote.

“Democratic leaders blocked the money and spent days trying to negotiate extraneous issues that were never on the table. I am grateful our colleagues have walked away from those demands and will finally let Congress act,” McConnell added.

Missouri AG says he's suing China over coronavirus because 'responsibility lies directly at their feet'

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt joined "Tucker Carlson Tonight" Tuesday after his state became the first to file a lawsuit against China, accusing the Beijing government of being liable for the severity of the coronavirus pandemic and seeking damages to compensate for "the enormous loss of life, human suffering, and economic turmoil" resulting from the outbreak.

"They [China] are responsible for this and the responsibility lies directly at their feet," Schmitt explained. "I felt it's incumbent upon me as the state's chief legal officer to prosecute that case to the Chinese government."

Three California community newspapers to close amid coronavirus

California Times, the parent company of the Los Angeles Times, will close down three of its five community newspapers in the LA metropolitan area, affecting about 14 people.

The move will shutter the 105-year-old Glendale News-Press, the Burbank Leader, which traces its roots to 1908, and the La Canada Valley Sun, founded in 1945.

The three papers were distributed free and supported through ads at a time when advertising has largely evaporated due to the coronavirus pandemic.

News-Press and Leader will publish their final editions on April 18, and Valley Sun will publish its last edition on April 23.

Two surviving weeklies, the Daily Pilot and TimesOC, will continue publishing in Orange County.

NY, NJ airports have highest number of TSA employees testing positive for coronavirus

John F. Kennedy International Airport -- the largest airport in New York -- has the highest number of employees in the country who have tested positive for coronavirus.

According to data from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), 95 TSA employees -- 88 of whom are screening officers -- have COVID-19. The officer with the most recent case of the virus worked at the airport and was in contact with passengers and other personnel as late as April 14.

At Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, 48 employees -- at least one of whom was working until April 12 -- have coronavirus, according to the TSA.

LaGuardia Aiport in Queens, N.Y., had the third-highest number of infected employees, with 28 testing positive for the virus.

"TSA is committed to notifying the public about airport locations where TSA employees or screening contractors have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus," the agency said in a statement.

‘Squad’ Demands Vote-by-Mail, Benefits for Illegal Aliens in Relief Package

Far-left members of the “Squad” — Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) — are releasing a list of demands on Monday that they believe need to be in the next coronavirus relief package, including vote-by-mail and cash payments to illegal immigrants.

Omar announced on Sunday that far-left members of the “Squad,” as well as Progressive Caucus cochairs Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) and Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI), will introduce a series of demands for the next coronavirus relief package.

“The next relief package must #PutPeopleFirst,” Omar’s announcement reads, previewing a list of their demands. While their demands include some of the features of the CARES Act, such as cash relief payments, the progressive lawmakers take it a step further and call for all aid in every relief program to be available to everyone “regardless of tax or immigration status, age, or disability status.”

The CARES Act barred those without Social Security numbers from receiving the cash relief payment — something both Ocasio-Cortez and Omar took issue with.

The progressives are also calling for full health coverage for all coronavirus patients, protections for frontline workers, increased food aid, and eviction protections. Additionally, they are calling on the next relief bill to “enact a vote-by-mail requirement for 2020 while maintaining access to in-person voting”:

VERIFY: What impact has coronavirus had on the environment?

Just in time for Earth Day, the Verify team looked into the environmental impacts of the coronavirus. Emissions are way down, but experts say it's unlikely to last.

WASHINGTON — Question:

Has the coronavirus had an impact on the environment?

Answer:

Absolutely. Various experts told the Verify team that air pollution and carbon emissions are significantly down. However, the changes are unlikely to last past the pandemic.

Sources:

Dr. Bryan N. Duncan: Atmospheric Scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center

Simon Evans: Climate Journalist for Carbon Brief

Peter DeCarlo: Johns Hopkins University

Process:

The streets surrounding the Capitol are usually bustling with cars and tourists. But during the coronavirus pandemic, the streets remain mostly empty.

The same can be said about communities across the country, from Bourbon Street in New Orleans to Times Square in New York City. As emissions plummet, it only makes sense that the air quality would improve.

To find out whether this premise is true, the Verify team spoke with three experts on the subject, starting with Dr. Bryan Duncan, an atmospheric scientist at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

Duncan said the impacts of this pandemic can literally be seen from space. He shared a satellite image of the Northeastern section of the United States, measuring nitrogen dioxide levels this past March compared to past years; emissions were down by roughly 30%.

"That's a huge drop," Duncan said.

Andrew Cuomo: ‘The President Is Right’ that States Should Lead on Testing

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday said at his press conference that President Donald Trump is correct that coronavirus testing should be led by the states.

“The president is right, testing is up to the states which will implement the tests and logistically coordinate the tests,” Cuomo said.

The governor commented just minutes after Trump expressed frustration on Twitter about Democrats criticizing his approach to testing for the deadly virus.

“‘Testing, Testing, Testing,’ again playing a very dangerous political game,” Trump wrote. “States, not the Federal Government, should be doing the Testing.”

Cuomo said that there are about 300 labs in New York that were regulated by the state, and he is responsible for coordinating testing.

“I think the president is right when he says the states should lead,” he said.

I Told All Of You, Hogan Can Attack President Trump But He Needs Trump To Make 500,000 Tests Work. He's An Idiot!

Governor Hogan Writes to President Trump to Request Guidance on Using Federal Labs for COVID-19 TestingThese Federal Labs Can Be Key to Our Utilizing the 500,000 Tests We Recently Acquired from South Korea and Our Comprehensive Recovery Plan to Get Marylanders Back to Work as Safely and Quickly as Possible”
ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan, chairman of the National Governors Association, wrote to President Trump this afternoon to accept his offer to allow the State of Maryland to utilize federal labs for COVID-19 testing and to request guidance on how to move forward with this important federal-state collaboration.
“Maryland is fortunate to have a plethora of federal installations with the potential to play a critical role in increasing our testing capacity, including Aberdeen Proving Ground, Fort Detrick, Fort Meade, the National Institutes of Health, and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center,” writes Governor Hogan. “These federal labs can be key to our utilizing the 500,000 tests we recently acquired from South Korea and our comprehensive recovery plan to get Marylanders back to work as safely and quickly as possible.
On Monday, after weeks of diplomatic discussions and procurement negotiations, Governor Hogan announced that Maryland has acquired 500,000 COVID-19 tests from South Korea’s LabGenomics.
“These federal labs can be key to our utilizing the 500,000 tests we recently acquired from South Korea and our comprehensive recovery plan to get Marylanders back to work as safely and quickly as possible,” writes Governor Hogan. “I was grateful to hear of your generous offer to allow the State of Maryland to access these federal labs for our testing. I am writing today to personally thank you and the Vice President and to request guidance on how we can immediately proceed on this important federal-state collaboration.”
In the letter, Governor Hogan notes that on March 15, the leaders of Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC wrote directly to the president to request a federally-supported testing site in the region.
As of today, Maryland has 14,193 cases of COVID-19 and 584 confirmed deaths.
Full text of Governor Hogan’s letter
April 21, 2020
The Honorable Donald J. TrumpPresident of the United States 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NWWashington, DC 20500
Dear President Trump:
As chair of the National Governors Association, I want to thank you for the continued coordination between the federal, state, and local governments during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are making clear progress on many of the common challenges we face. I appreciate your administration’s focus on information sharing, highlighting best practices, and empowering governors to assess conditions on the ground and make the decisions that best fit our states.
On March 15th, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Boswer, and I wrote to you directly requesting “that you add the National Capital Region to the priority locations for federally-supported COVID-19 testing sites,” noting that we “are well-positioned to make the best possible use of federal support for this testing.”
As Vice President Pence detailed on the governors’ call yesterday, Maryland is fortunate to have a plethora of federal installations with the potential to play a critical role in increasing our testing capacity, including Aberdeen Proving Ground, Fort Detrick, Fort Meade, the National Institutes of Health, and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. These federal labs can be key to our utilizing the 500,000 tests we recently acquired from South Korea and our comprehensive recovery plan to get Marylanders back to work as safely and quickly as possible.
I was grateful to hear of your generous offer yesterday to allow the State of Maryland to access these federal labs for our testing. I am writing today to personally thank you and the Vice President and to request guidance on how we can immediately proceed on this important federal-state collaboration. I look forward to continuing to work with you and your great team. Thank you once again.
Sincerely,
Larry HoganGovernor

Doctor says coronavirus could be spreading through farts – but experts aren’t so sure

CORONAVIRUS could be spreading through farts, a doctor is warning.

One medic claimed people may be passing the deadly disease on to others through omitting bodily gasses - however experts aren't so sure.

They say the chances of catching Covid-19 through farting is "tiny" and that Covid-19 is mainly transmitted between people through droplets spread from coughing and touching or shaking hands.

Australian doctor Andy Tagg pointed out that farting could cause coronavirus after analysing a series of tests take from coronavirus patients earlier this year.

He cited tests that revealed the virus was present in the faeces of 55 per cent of patients with Covid-19.

And medics have previously warned farts contain tiny poo particles that can spread bacteria.

The 'Worst' of the Coronavirus Is Still to Come, Says World Health Organization Chief

World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Monday that the "worst" of the novel coronavirus has yet to come.

"Trust us. The worst is yet ahead of us," Ghebreyesus said during a news briefing. "Let's prevent this tragedy. It's a virus that many people still don't understand."

His comments come at a time when the novel coronavirus, which causes the respiratory disease COVID-19, continues to spread across the globe, infecting over 2.4 million people, according to a tracker provided by Johns Hopkins University. The virus has also caused at least 167,592 deaths.

Bill Barr threatens to join lawsuits against governors who refuse to roll back stay-home orders – which he compares to 'house arrest'

Attorney General William Barr waded further into a debate over governors' stay-at-home orders meant to slow the spread of the new coronavirus, saying he would not rule out legal action against states if he thought their actions infringed civil liberties.

Governors across the nation have closed businesses and schools and banned social gatherings in the face of a pandemic that has killed more than 45,000 Americans. Over the past week, a smattering of scattered protests have called for those orders to be eased to dull the disease's heavy economic toll.

'We're looking carefully at a number of these rules that are being put into place. And if we think one goes too far, we initially try to jawbone the governors into rolling them back or adjusting them,' Barr said during a radio interview on the Hugh Hewitt show on Tuesday.

Coronavirus could have a deadlier second wave later this year, CDC director warns

The head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is warning that a second wave of coronavirus could coincide with the start of flu season, proving to be even more devastating than the enduring COVID-19 pandemic.

CDC Director Robert Redfield told The Washington Post in an interview Tuesday that the nation should be cautious even as some states attempt to reopen their economies in the coming weeks and continue to practice social distancing measures to mitigate the spread of the virus.

US officials confirm full-scale investigation of whether coronavirus escaped from Wuhan lab

EXCLUSIVE: The U.S. is conducting a full-scale investigation into whether the novel coronavirus, which went on to morph into a global pandemic that has brought the global economy to its knees, escaped from a lab in Wuhan, China, Fox News has learned.

Intelligence operatives are said to be gathering information about the laboratory and the initial outbreak of the virus. Intelligence analysts are piecing together a timeline of what the government knew and “creating an accurate picture of what happened,” the sources said.

Once that investigation is complete -- something that is expected to happen in the near-term -- the findings will be presented to the Trump administration. At that point White House policymakers and President Trump will use the findings to determine how to hold the country accountable for the pandemic.

Fox News first reported on Wednesday that there is increasing confidence that the outbreak likely originated in a Wuhan lab, not as a bioweapon but as part of a Chinese effort to show that its efforts to identify and combat viruses are equal or greater than those of the U.S.

How are Hogan's actions affecting Maryland citizens?

The state of the MD UI system as it now exists:

As an annual worker from Ocean City for over 10 years.I get LAID OFF (yearly) which currently qualifies me for UI (Unemployment Insurance - UI). There used to be a MD law/policy for workers past age 60 that where did’t require these workers to even keep a record of looking for alternate employment in order to be eligible for Unemployment benefits. I have always follows those rules. Thanks to Mathias (and others) that those rules no longer exist. Fine, they give me and others like me NEW rules. But are they even the even following those for themselves.

Hogan’s MD/DLLR has have screwed things up BIG TIME in supporting its workers. Maryland’s agencies permit a Private bank/non competed contract with BofA. Was the next Governor candidate who is the COMPTROLLER ever involved? I got a text msg from DLLR at 5AM this morning that my (UI) account has been loaded with a recent deposit (that I wa s qualified to) . I spend the day going with multiple banks in MD today trying to withdrawal from multiple accounts using ATM, using Debit (groceries - Royal Farms) and SECUMD. I even visited the BofA in OC who could only advise me to contact the Maryland (Hogan). If I call the phone at MD’s DLLR, it its perpetually busy.

Previously, I suggested it was a problem with recipients who had not applied for B of A who had not applied for their benefits but those benefits no longer exist but it is no longer an ATM related problem.

Please post your problems as MD refuses to acknoledge their problems. In the meantime, why is MD making it’s citizens starve while benefitting other countries? Just post your problems COLLECTING your benefits from MD - as replies to this note.

Would a LARGER sales commiision from Korea for Hogan’s wife make things better Did she (he) receive a commission for this excessive purchase)? Was Trump involved with this more than adequate purchase? Could Hunter Biden have struck abetter deal?

As of this morning:

DLLR benefits are recognized for debit (gas or grocery) benefits.

You cannot make ANY withdrawals from ANY bank. MD DLLR benefits are WORTHLESS.

The DLLR phone rings off the hook if you try to contact them. Why not take them off the network if they can NOT answer the phone provide a service to US (unemployed)? Seems reasonable to lay THEM off it they aren’t cable of doing a job for US.

Maryland needs a new Governor!

Please let us know what other recipients of Marland’s services are/not being served.

Lastly, is Hogan’s (Korean wife) receiving a commission from NK for their sales of products to the USA?

Hmmmmm…...

Florida Republicans Demand Miami Herald Fire Columnist

Florida Republicans are urging the Miami Herald to take action against metro columnist Fabiola Santiago, who tweeted on Sunday that Florida residents packing beaches “should work nicely to thin the ranks” of supporters of President Donald Trump and Gov. Ron DeSantis.

On Sunday, Santiago specifically tweeted that “packed beaches should work nicely to thin the ranks of Trump/DeSantis/Gimenez supporters in #Florida who value money over health.”

Hours later, Santiago deleted the tweet and issued an apology, saying her remarks “didn’t accurately convey my sentiment… Regardless of political differences, I would never wish any harm on anyone.”

Her apology came after strong condemnation from prominent Trump supporters and coverage of her remarks by independent news media outlets, including an article at Breitbart News and coverage on Fox News.

Exposing Harvard's Chinese Agent Charles Lieber's "Virus Transmitters"

Dr. Charles Lieber is a nano-scientist at Harvard University. He was recently charged by the American authorities for secretly being a Chinese agent.

However, there is a mystery surrounding the nature of his work. It is said he was recruited for advanced research into nanowire-batteries. But investigation by GreatGameIndia has shown that Lieber was infact working on virus transmitters that could penetrate cell membranes without affecting the intercellular functions and even measure activities inside heart cells and muscle fibers.

Chinese Agent Charles Lieber

Dr. Charles Leiber is a nano-scientist at Harvard University who also serves as a chair for Harvard’s Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology. He was arrested by the U.S. Department of Defense in January for lying about his association with China’s Thousand Talent Program. It is basically a recruitment plan which seeks to lure Chinese overseas talent and foreign experts to bring their knowledge and experience to China and in return, reward individuals for stealing proprietary information.

Nigel Farage: Only Trump Has Stood up to China, But Citizens of the West Must Stand up Next

China’s dishonesty over coronavirus could lead to a global reassessment of how vital the authoritarian regime should be to the fate and prosperity of Western democracies, Brexit leader Nigel Farage has told Breitbart News.

Speaking to Breitbart News Network editor-in-chief Alex Marlow on the Breitbart News Daily Show on Sirius XM Patriot, “Mr Brexit” Nigel Farage — known for shepherding Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union from being a harshly opposed position to the proven view of the majority by the time of the 2016 Brexit referendum — turned his fire on China during a coronavirus discussion.

While Mr Farage praised the “very good, and very brave” U.S. President Trump for being the only global leader who dared to stand up to vested interests and Chinese power, the grassroots political leader made it clear it would take more than leadership from the corridors of power to reorientate the West away from Beijing, pointing out this ultimately was in the hands of consumer-citizens.
