Press Access to White House ‘Hasn’t Been Determined’

Incoming White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus said President-elect Donald Trump's administration hasn't yet decided whether it will allow the press to continue to work in the White House.

Speaking on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday, Priebus confirmed reports that Trump's team was considering moving the daily press briefings conducted by the White House press secretary to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, just a short walk away from the White House.

"What I'm talking about, what we're talking about — and the only thing that was even discussed about this — was whether or not you wanna take that [press briefing] room that only holds 50 people […] and whether you wanna go 50 feet to the EOB and have for the first few weeks or the first month or so the press conferences where you can fit three or four times the amount of people. It's about more access," he said.

BREAKING NEWS: TOWN OF PITTSVILLE IS OUT OF THEIR MINDS

Just how much further can the Town of Pittsville Commissioners bring down the Town of Pittsville?

With the recent passing of Council President/Mayor Denver Moore and his Daughters recent arrest/conviction for embezzlement and the Father being questioned for his signatures on those checks, what could be worse?

I know, how about appointing his other Daughter Erica Moore-Lecates, (above)! They just appointed this woman to fill in for her Father's position until the next election.

Now, if ANY of you ever wondered why so many people crack so many jokes about the Eastern Shore, LOOK NO FURTHER! You know what they say, if Billy Bob gets a divorce from Shaniqua, are they still sister and brother?

Encouraging Racism

By Thornton Crowe

What started out as a New Year's Eve sleepover turned into a rampage of torture when four black adults kidnapped a white specials needs victim. They beat, cut, berated and forced him to drink toilet water while chanting hate against white people and Donald Trump. They laughed as they made their victim say he loved black people at knife point, while live streaming on Facebook.

The reaction of Chicago law enforcement and mainstream media was almost as appalling as anchors and the police grappled with calling the crime for what it is: a Hate Crime. Some, like CNN's Don Lemon, had the audacity to claim this wasn't evil, while the police stated initially it was just teenagers making bad choices?

Bad choices are shoplifting a soda, driving drunk or getting busted for weed - not kidnapping and torturing physically or mentally disabled people for kicks. Those are the actions of sadistic sociopaths, filled with malice and premeditation.

While Black Lives Matters was dubbed as being responsible (#BLMKidnapping) on Twitter, the Chicago Police denied any connection, yet is this suppose to admonish DeRay and company from any responsibility? Liberals and the Media have no problem making gross generalizations about 'all' Trump supporters being deplorable, yet, BLM can claim independence from an act and it's perfectly acceptable and unrelated?

Young troublemakers see the group killing police officers, rioting and looting with little justice administered and take it as a carte blanche to do whatever they want to white people without fear of repercussions. To make matters worse, many white liberals dub them as perpetual victims with tough upbringings, lashing out against an oppressive society, which punishes them simply because they're black.

In this instance, the Illinois court is holding this gang accountable by charging them with kidnapping, assault and two counts of hate crime each. The laundry list of charges has the defendants looking at 20-45 years without parole. Furthermore, Associate Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil denied bond, after asking them, "Where was the sense of decency?"

Is White Academia further encouraging this hate?

Before Christmas, Drexel University professor, George Ciccariello, actually posted on his Twitter account that his Christmas 'wish list' included White genocide in a series of Tweets. After outrage resulted in several petitions calling for his dismissal, he claimed his quips were merely satirical. The university issued a statement that, while they didn't agree with his statements, they still supported his First Amendment right to make them and had no intention of reprimanding or terminating his employment.

White genocide is no joking matter, so should Ciccariello be teaching and influencing our future leaders? Apparently, at Drexel the answer is, yes.

Salisbury is hardly immune from this dangerous mentality as we witnessed back in April 2015 at Salisbury University when two (or more) black students drew a lynching picture on a whiteboard at the former Blackwell Library and then posted it on social media. President Dr. Janet Dudley Eshbach and her administration did absolutely nothing to the students involved nor relay to the community any information or resolution. Instead, race-baiters ready to incite violence on whites, walk amongst your sons and daughters, without being held accountable for their racism. Remember you're paying a hefty in-state tuition to put them in potential harm's way.

Doesn't all this promote more violence on our population when hushed by authorities and given a pass by Liberals under the guise of political correctness? Absolutely and the Chicago incident is proof and point this attitude towards black-on-white hate crime can escalate to physical violence quickly!

When will Liberals accept their own connivance in these hate crimes against whites by advocating such domestic terrorist groups as BLM? Racism is racism, regardless of a victim's race and all crimes should be adjudicated equally instead of cherry-picked justice based on the public sentiment du jour.

What say you?

Joe,

I wanted to inform possible customers about what I classify as an unfair business practice. On Monday January 9th 2017, I visited MacMillan OPE located at 720 Snow Hill Rd., Salisbury, Md. When asked by the gentleman how he may help, I provided written information needed to obtain a part for a chain saw. This gentleman retrieved a small sealed plastic bag, mostly flat, about the size of a playing card. One side contained writing the other clear to see several small parts inside the sealed package. I paid cash for the item and received a written receipt. I did not read the receipt. Today, January 11th 2017 I chose to return the item for a full refund. The same gentleman informed me that he could not provide a refund for the item, it was store policy to provide the correct item or an item of equal value. I informed the gentleman that I did not want or need the item and preferred a cash refund. This gentleman informed me the store’s policy is clearly stated in writing on the receipt and posted on a board to which he pointed. Although I was extremely disgusted, since most stores I deal with simply provide cash refunds for returned items, I left before I said something to be regretted. After processing the situation, I believe the best course of action is to warn potential customers of this business’ practice. I for one will never patronize this establishment again.

Thank you,

Expect Schools In Wicomico County To Be Closed Tomorrow And More...1-8-17

Here's the latest. After speaking with a County Official this morning, road conditions are just plain horrible.

Before any of you go off, understand the problem first. Because temperatures are so low, (and expect to stay that way until Wednesday) and so many vehicles packed down the snow on the roads, salt simply will not melt that snow/ice. It has to get above freezing before the salt will work.

Even though we'll see the sun today, that doesn't mean it will help melt that snow/ice because the temperatures are so low. So we're in a unique situation.

As for the current road conditions, they're bad. They have plowed just about everything BUT there are no roads down to the blacktop, including Rt. 50 and others. If you have to get out and drive, you better drive really slow because everything is a sheet of ice.

As for school closings, nothing is official but I can assure you, (at least in Wicomico County) you can pre plan on schools being closed tomorrow. I've also been told you might want to prepare for schools being closed Tuesday as well.

UPDATE: I stand corrected. The salt WILL start melting the snow/ice below freezing. It's the unsalted back roads where you can expect the biggest problems. So the main roads will slightly improve but the back roads won't start clearing until Wednesday, (in my opinion).

Ocean City May Drop Free Inlet Parking Time From 30 To 20 Minutes

OCEAN CITY — Resort transportation officials this week approved a number of recommendations to tweak the paid parking systems including an adjustment of the time frame at the Inlet lot.

Following up on an earlier discussion from December, the Transportation Committee on Tuesday resumed discussions on how best to adjust the paid parking systems at the Inlet lot, side streets and other municipal lots in Ocean City. The debate included discussions on how best to upgrade or replace existing payment methods at the Inlet and other locations throughout Ocean City.

Because of the timing, in most cases the current payment systems will remain in place for the 2017 season, but there will likely be some tweaks based on recommendations from the committee to the Mayor and Council. For example, currently the first 30 minutes for parking at the Inlet lot are free and a graduated payment schedule kicks in after.

However, after considerable debate on Tuesday, the committee recommended adjusting the time frame to make the first 20 minutes free and the payment schedule beginning in the 21st minute. The thinking is 20 minutes is sufficient for a driver to go into the lot for a brief visit and anything beyond that would initiate the paid parking.

Md.'s Gov. Hogan must find footing with Trump

Gov. Larry Hogan appears to be struggling harder than most coastal elites to come to terms with Donald Trump's victory.

You cannot blame him, I suppose. He did what a Republican politician in a Democratic state had to do. He bobbed. He weaved. He ducked. He dodged. He cast a write-in vote for his dad. It was a performance worthy of a Daytime Emmy nomination, premised on the theory that Hillary Clinton would be elected the 45th president of the United States.

Then the improbable happened.

In the weeks since Mr. Trump's victory, Mr. Hogan has continued to bob, weave, duck and dodge. He called for unity. He encouraged everyone to take a deep breath. He avoided Mr. Trump at the Army-Navy game. He announced he will attend Mr. Trump's swearing in. He said he has not talked to Mr. Trump since the election. Then, despite evidence to the contrary, he settled on this gem: "Things are going to be great."

Pittsville Comments Worthy Of A Post

Magoo said...

Joe what do you think about this idea?

This is clearly one example of a town or municipality could and should dissolve it's charter and let Wicomico County take over the day to day operations.

Responding to above:
I completely agree that Wicomico County should take over the Town of Pittsville. I have lived here for over 20 years and have not seen any problems fixed (as we have many)and there needs to be a clean sweep done. I have been to the office on numerous occasions for not-so-difficult things that never were resolved. We need a strong governmental office and this small town needs some big guns.

JoeAlbero said...

6:21, I firmly agree. I can tell you the Town of Pittsville is being watched very carefully.

Let me explain something to everyone, I think you'll be quite pissed off when you read what I'm about to say.

I, Joe Albero, was the one who got our Annapolis Officials to piggyback Worcester County's distillery legislation and it PASSED.

Now, let me explain WHY.

You know the building I own next to the old Fire Station. I/We had a BUYER who owns a distillery licence who wanted to put a manufacturing facility there. They were going to completely rebuild the structure, employ 25 to 30 people and even committed to bring back the Strawberry Festival to Pittsville at their expense.

HOWEVER, it was Denver Moore who refused to allow this to happen, claiming I didn't have enough EDU's, (water and sewer) to allow such a facility, which was total BS. This company USES the water and the discharge was extremely limited.

Considering this is a COMMERCIAL property, Moore and the Council denied it and the deal fell through.

So 30 residents lost good paying jobs and the taxable income for the Town would have been perhaps the biggest taxpayer there.

So do I think the County should absorb the Town, absolutely. You people need to wake up and get these Idiots out of Office.

Michelle Obama Tells Muslims, Immigrants 'This Country Belongs to You'

“In her final speech as first lady on Friday, Michelle Obama singled out young immigrants and Muslims, many of whom express apprehension about President-elect Donald Trump.” “Do not ever let anyone make you feel like you don’t matter, or like you don’t have a place in our American story — because you do,” she said. “Know that this country belongs to you, to all of you. From every background and walk of life. If you or your parents are immigrants, know that you are part of a proud American tradition . . . that has made us the greatest country on Earth.” Religious diversity is “not a threat to who we are,” she said, “it makes us who we are.” More

Congressional Black Caucus to Re-Hang Anti-Cop 'Police as Pigs' Painting in Capital Citing 'Constitution'

According to a report, the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) intends to sponsor a ceremony in the U.S. Capital to re-hang the offensive, anti-cop painting depicting police as pigs. Members of the Caucus are insisting that they are “defending the Constitution” by re-hanging the controversial artwork.

The news of the CBC’s intentions was made public by a January 9 tweet from Fox Business Network contributor Charles V Payne.
Breaking News
Congressional Black Caucus to rehang "Police as Pigs" painting tomorrow saying: "It’s about defending the Constitution.”
The painting depicting police officers as giant pigs pushing minorities around in Ferguson, Missouri, was originally hung by Missouri Democrat Lacy Clay in the tunnel of the Congressional Cannon office building of the U.S. Capitol complex. But it was recently pulled down by California Republican Duncan Hunter who said the thing fosters an “untrue narrative” that police don’t care about the public in general and minorities in particular.

“This false narrative portrays law enforcement professionals as posing a danger to the very communities we serve. That is untrue and this ‘art’ reinforces this false narrative and is disrespectful on so many levels,” Rep. Hunter said after he removed the offensive painting from the wall.

Today at 5:05pm on Riverside Drive between Pinehurst and College I witnessed a PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION BUS PASSING another car that was driving approximately 30 mph. The auto driving in the opposite direction (heading towards town) had to slow down to prevent a head-on collision. The bus # was 78 and the plate # was LG87001. This driver was doing his route through Pinebluff Village. I followed him as he drove through Pinebluff blowing through ALL the stop signs in there. He is reckless and needs to be FIRED!

Please note: their are NO passing zones anywhere on this stretch of road, the road was much better than it was yesterday but definitely not clear, and the speed limit is 30 mph in good weather.

Gallup Poll: More Adults Identifying as LGBT

About 4.1 percent of American adults — or more than 10 million people — identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender in 2016, a new Gallup pollreveals.

The poll notes the current figures show a 1.75 million increase when compared to 2012 poll results.

Here is how the poll breaks down:
7.3 percent of Millennials (those born between 1980-1998) identify as LGBT, compared to 5.8 percent in 2012.
3.2 percent of General X (those born between 1965-1979) call themselves LGBT – the same percentage as those surveyed in 2012.
2.4 percent of Baby Boomers (born between 1946-1964) identify as LGBT, compared to 2.7 percent in 2012.
1.4 percent of Traditionalists (born between 1913-1945) calls themselves LGBT, compared to 1.8 percent in 2012.
3.7 percent of males identify with LGBT, compared to 3.4 percent in 2012.
4.4 percent of woman identify with LGBT, compared to 3.5 percent in 2012.

"Millennials are more than twice as likely as any other generation to identify as LGBT," Gallup says. "In 2012, they accounted for 43 percent of LGBT-identified adults. As a result of their disproportionate increases in identification since then, they now account for 58 percent. Millennials comprise 32 percent of the general adult population"

Marijuana Users Are Safer Drivers Than Non-Marijuana Users, New Study Shows

A new study released by United States auto insurance quote provider 4AutoInsuranceQuote.com shows that statistically speaking, marijuana users are safer drivers than non-marijuana users.

In a recent study, 4AutoinsuranceQuote.com, a national quote provider for online car insurance quotes, cites a strong correlation between traffic-related accidents and marijuana use. The study, which looks at statistics regarding accidents, traffic violations, and insurance prices, seeks to dispel the thought that “driving while stoned” is dangerous.

In the study, 4AutoInsuranceQuote.com points out that the only significant effect that marijuana has on operating a motor vehicle is slower driving. 4AutoInsuranceQuote.com says, while referencing a study by the US National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), that driving slower “is arguably a positive thing” and that driving under the influence of marijuana “might even make you a safer driver.” A similar study by the NHTSA shows that drivers with THC (the active ingredient in marijuana) in their system have accident responsibility rates below that of drug free drivers.

In fact, a recent study shows that use of medical marijuana has caused traffic related fatalities to drop by up to nine percent in states that have legalized its use. This study, titled “Medical Marijuana Laws, Traffic Fatalities, and Alcohol Consumption”, conducted by Mark Anderson and Daniel Rees in November 2011, shows that increased marijuana use amongst adults has decreased alcohol related traffic deaths in said states. This study provides solid evidence that marijuana is not only a safe substitute for alcohol, but it also makes for more safer drivers.

Lowe's to Cut Thousands of Store Workers, Shuffle Jobs

Lowe's Cos. is cutting thousands of workers and shuffling the jobs of thousands more, according to people familiar with the matter, as the home-improvement retailer tries to adapt to shifting shopping habits.

The company plans to eliminate less than 1% of its workforce, or fewer than 3,000 jobs, said a person familiar with the matter. But it also will shift many workers' "back-of-house responsibilities and activities to customer-facing ones," the person familiar said, aiming to redeploy them to help answer shoppers' questions about products or home-improvement projects.

The move comes after the Mooresville, N.C.-based hardware retailer in November cut its profit outlook for the year, citing weaker-than-expected store traffic.

"We've got to make sure that as the consumer is changing the ways they engage with us, we continue to be nimble," said Lowe's Chief Executive Robert Niblock in an interview at the time. Lowe's employs around 285,000 people.

U.S. Puts Bumblebee On The Endangered Species List For 1st Time

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has designated the rusty patched bumblebee an endangered species — the first such designation for a bumblebee and for a bee species in the continental U.S.

The protected status, which goes into effect on Feb. 10, includes requirements for federal protections and the development of a recovery plan. It also means that states with habitats for this species are eligible for federal funds.

"Today's Endangered Species listing is the best—and probably last—hope for the recovery of the rusty patched bumble bee," NRDC Senior Attorney Rebecca Riley said in a statement from the Xerces Society, which advocates for invertebrates. "Bumble bees are dying off, vanishing from our farms, gardens, and parks, where they were once found in great numbers."

Large parts of the Eastern and Midwestern United States were once crawling with these bees, Bombus affinis, but the bees have suffered a dramatic decline in the last two decades due to habitat loss and degradation, along with pathogens and pesticides.

Trump's nemesis John McCain kicked off 'Kremlin memo' scandal by handing dossier to FBI

Sworn Donald Trump enemy John McCain admitted Wednesday that he passed the dossier of claims of a Russian blackmail plot against the president-elect - calling it 'what any citizen should do'.

McCain - a longstanding anti-Trump Republican who had disassociated himself from the candidate's campaign weeks before the election - cast himself as an innocent and concerned member of the public as he justified his move.

He claimed he had no idea whether it was accurate or not - but that he believed the FBI should have it because it was 'sensitive'.

'I did what any citizen should do. I received sensitive information and handed it to the FBI,' he told CNN - the network which broke the story that the document existed. It was then published in full by Buzzfeed.

Perdue's Statement On Slow Growing Chickens

As part of our Animal Care Commitment, we are investigating the implications of breeding and growth rate in both breeders, the flocks that provide eggs to our hatcheries, and in broilers. As the National Chicken Council notes in its news release today, switching to slow-growth breeds has multiple implications for bird health and wellbeing, environmental impact, and meat quality as well as cost for producers and consumers, and more research is needed for better understanding.

We began 18 months ago exploring various ways to slow growth of existing breeds as well as utilizing heritage breeds to determine ways that have a meaningful, positive impact on the wellbeing of our chickens and that address consumer concerns about how their food is raised.

Learn more about the changes we’re making to improve the care of all our chickens.

RESPONSE TO MERYL STREEP

Dear Hollywood Celebrities,

It’s time to wake up now. Get this! The only reason you exist is for my entertainment. Some of you are beautiful. Some of you can deliver a line with such conviction that you bring tears to my eyes. Some of you are so convincing that you scare the crap out of me. And others are so funny you can make me laugh uncontrollably. And others make music that makes my toe tap and my body sway.

But you all have one thing in common. You only exist and have a place in my world to entertain me. That’s it. Nothing else!

You make your living pretending to be someone else. You play dress-up like a 5-year-old. Your world is a make believe world. It is not real. It doesn’t exist. You live for the camera and microphone, while the rest of us live in the real world. Your entire existence depends on my patronage. I crank the organ grinder, and you dance.

Therefore, I don’t care where you stand on issues. Honestly, your opinion means nothing to me. Just because you had a lead role in a movie about prostitution doesn’t mean you know what it’s like to be a prostitute. Because you show a breast at a halftime football show while singing off key, doesn't make you a world spokesperson. Your view matters far less to me than that of a someone living in Timbuktu .

Believe me or not, the hard truth is that you aren’t real. I turn off my TV or shut down my computer or turn off my radio, and you cease to exist. Once I am done with you, I go back to the real world until I want you to entertain me again.

I don’t care that you think BP executives deserve the death penalty. I don’t care what you think about the environment. I don’t care if you believe fracking is bad. I don’t care if you call for more gun control. I don’t care if you believe in catastrophic human-induced global warming. And I could care less that you supported Hillary for President. Get back into your bubble. I’ll let you know when I’m in the mood for something pretty or scary or funny.

And one other thing. What was with all this “I’ll leave the country if Donald Trump wins”? Don’t you know how stupid that made you sound? What did you think my reaction was going to be? I better not vote for Trump or we’ll lose Whoopi Goldberg? Al Sharpton? Amy Schumer? Bruce Springsteen? or Barbara Striestand? And several more. Leave. I don’t care! And don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out. Oh by the way, is Clinton returning any of the money you so generously donated to her election?

Make me laugh. Make me cry. Make me sing. Even scare me. But realize this, the only words of yours that matter are scripted — just like your pathetic little lives. I may agree with some of you from time to time, but in the final analysis, it doesn’t matter. In my world, you exist solely for my entertainment.

BIKERS FOR TRUMP Reveal Crazy Awesome Inauguration Plan- Libs FREAK!

Inauguration Day is looking to be a very exhilarating day in American politics. It’s always electrifying to have a new president sworn in, but given the contention surrounding President-elect Donald Trump, this Inauguration Day has the potential to be very disruptive.

Along with the many liberal groups preparing protests on Inauguration Day, the group “Bikers for Trump” has succeeded in securing a permit to hold a assemblage of their own, according to The Washington Times.

Reportedly, this permit was only granted to the bikers after the National Park Service Office declined their first permit request. The Bikers for Trump have disclosed what they will be doing instead.

Chris Cox, the founder of Bikers for Trump shared what he did to remedy the situation:

“I wasn’t happy. I told her I had thousands and thousands of bikers coming into town, and if she didn’t give me a spot, they were going to be just mingling around and would end up hanging out where all the Trump protesters are, and there’s going to be big problems and then people are going to wonder why.”

Looks like that was plenty to frighten the Park Service into doing their job, and allowing the supporters a space to do their thing.

The Bikers for Trump have now secured a permit for 5,000 people, though they are expecting many more show up for the rally.

Professor Calls for Whites to Have "Individual Reparations Accounts"

Dyson regards much of white America as pernicious force

Georgetown Professor Michael Eric Dyson is proposing the idea that white people should have an ‘Individual Reparations Account’ to make donations to black institutions and individuals.

The idea is part of his forthcoming book, Tears We Cannot Stop: A Sermon to White America.

Dyson made the argument during an interview with Ana Marie Cox in the January 8 edition of the New York Times Magazine.

From the interview:

Good! I used to say in church, “If the sermon ain’t making you a little bit uncomfortable, it ain’t effective.” Look, if it doesn’t cost you anything, you’re not really engaging in change; you’re engaging in convenience. You’re engaged in the overflow. I’m asking you to do stuff you wouldn’t ordinarily do. I’m asking you to think more seriously and strategically about why you possess what you possess.

I agree with reparations, but maybe this is my white privilege speaking: I can’t imagine actually doing that.

That is what I meant by an I.R.A.: an individual reparations account. You ain’t got to ask the government, you don’t have to ask your local politician — this is what you, an individual, conscientious, “woke” citizen can do.

But charity can’t be the end of it, right? The Koch brothers gave the United Negro College Fund $25 million, but I doubt you would consider them “woke.”

‘Fake News’: BuzzFeed, CNN Target Trump with Admittedly Unverifiable Russia ‘Memos’

On Tuesday, CNN reported that President-elect Donald Trump and President Barack Obama had been briefed by the intelligence community on memos alleging there was communication between Trump’s campaign and Russian officials.

CNN suggested the existence of highly-compromising material targeting Trump which was compiled by a former British intelligence officer.

CNN, which was referred to as the Clinton News Network during the 2016 election, wrote (emphasis ours):

CNN has reviewed a 35-page compilation of the memos, from which the two-page synopsis was drawn. The memos originated as opposition research, first commissioned by anti-Trump Republicans, and later by Democrats. At this point, CNN is not reporting on details of the memos, as it has not independently corroborated the specific allegations. But, in preparing this story, CNN has spoken to multiple high ranking intelligence, administration, congressional and law enforcement officials, as well as foreign officials and others in the private sector with direct knowledge of the memos

The cable news network noted that while the former British intelligence officer’s work is credible, the specific allegations presented in the document have produced inconsistencies and have yet to be confirmed.

Among the unverifiable claims, President-elect Trump is accused of participating in extremely graphic sexual fetishism in the Moscow Ritz-Carlton.

While CNN did not publish the report, BuzzFeed did, knowing full well that the unverified memos would off a media frenzy of unsubstantiated rumors:

“SNAP is our nation’s first line of defense against hunger for millions of low-income families and their children,” Cardin said.

Jeff Sessions shunned, slandered by longtime Senate Democrat collaborators

Senate Democrats are poised to throw away 20 years of friendship and a bipartisan working relationship with Sen. Jeff Sessions to wreak political vengeance on him this week as they consider his nomination for attorney general.

Highlighting the deep partisan divide and the bad blood between Democratic lawmakers and President-elect Donald Trump, the same senators who have socialized and co-authored reams of legislation with Mr. Sessions are under pressure from liberal interest groups to air accusations that he is a racist, a sexist and a homophobe.

Mr. Sessions, who has held an Alabama seat in the Senate since 1997 and has served as the state’s attorney general and as a U.S. attorney, is expected to win confirmation from his colleagues, including support from several Democrats. But it won’t be pretty.

Heading into two days of confirmation hearings that begin Tuesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee, where he serves as a member, liberal activist groups have gone so far as to label him a “white supremacist,” and his Democratic colleagues have expressed doubt about his ability to enforce the law without prejudice.

Maryland Legislature's Attempt to Override Governor Hogan's Veto of SB-921/HB-1106

I am afraid that Senators Pugh, Feldman, Benson, Madaleno, Mathias, Middleton, Pinsky, Raskin, and Muse are all going to try and ambush the Governor over his Veto of the Sunshine Tax Bill - SB-921/HB-1106

Over in the House - Delegate C William Frick is also trying to ambush the Governor as he was the House sponsor of the bill.

Governor Hogan is absolutely right - the Bill is a sunshine tax. But what is even worse - is that the 2015 Maryland Legislature has already passed HB 1087 - Community Solar Program. The electricity rate increases - as a result of passage of the Community Solar Program - are just now starting to kick-in.

Rate Increase No. 1 :

SB-921/HB-1106
Look at bottom of Page 6 in SB-921 - in the Fiscal Note - it says;

State Fiscal Effect:

Electricity Costs

'The incremental cost associated with the bill is absorbed by all electric customers in the State.'

Again, look in the middle of Page 10 in the Fiscal Note - it says;

'Small Business Effect: Small businesses incur higher electricity prices under the bill beginning in fiscal 2017.'

Rate Increase No. 2:

The prior year (2015) Governor Hogan
signed into law the Community Solar Program - and this is going to effect every Marylander's electric bill as the surplus electricity costs are bore by the customers - and not the utility.

http://www.mgaleg.maryland.gov/2015RS/fnotes/bil_0007/hb1087.pdf

These electric rate increases are just starting to kick-in even though they were passed by the 2015 General Assembly and Governor Hogan.

Bottom line - if they override Governor Hogan's Veto - Marylanders are faced with a two tiered electric rate increases - the sunshine tax caused by 2016 SB-921/HB-1106 - and - the 2015 - Community Solar Program HB-1087/SB-481.

Senator Feldman and Delegate Frick tried unsuccessfully the year before during the 2015 General Assembly - with the same shenanigin's - SB 373/HB377.

Presently - the Public is unaware and are about to blind-sided!!!

Married lesbian couple to lead prominent D.C. Baptist church

Calvary Baptist Church, a progressive Baptist landmark in the heart of downtown Washington, has named a gay couple as co-pastors.

Sally Sarratt and Maria Swearingen were presented to the congregation during worship services Jan. 8 and are set to begin their new jobs Feb. 26.

A spokeswoman for the congregation said she didn’t know whether a gay couple leading a church was a first for Baptists.

“We look for the best people in the world and that’s who they were,” said Carol Blythe. “We’re very excited.”

A Viewer Writes: Interesting to comparison-shop

I thought you might find this interesting (though I've seen this happen
a number of times lately).

I was looking to buy a little Vacmaster VF408 shop-vac and priced it at a number of places.

The big shock came when I checked WalMart and Sam's Club:

Walmart's price: $62.03 + FREE shipping

Scam's Club: $75.98 plus 6.55 shipping = $82.53

And I pay $45 per year membership fee at Sam's for this?

Top Clinton ally: Hillary will never run for office again

Hillary Clinton confidante Neera Tanden doesn't expect the former Democratic presidential nominee to ever seek office again after her stunning defeat to President-elect Donald Trump.

"I don't expect her to ever run for any elected office again," the president of the Center for American Progress said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."

Tanden was responding to reports that Clinton is considering running for mayor of New York City.

The New York Daily News reported that top Democrats are pressuring the former secretary of state to get back in the game by running for Mayor Bill de Blasio's seat.

The Difference Between Treated and Non Treated Roads

This image was taken today in Wicomico County. You can clearly see where the salt from Rt. 50 into the Royal Farms parking lot removes the snow/ice while the untreated county road remains frozen.

So when you ask, why don't they salt the side roads then? Well, get out your tax dollars because you'd not only have to buy tons of salt, you'd have to also build a new facility to store the salt in.

Ebony Magazine Editor: Hate Crimes Can’t Be Committed Against White People, Cops

On Wednesday, Ebony Magazine’s Jamilah Lemieux criticized the use of the phrase “hate crime” in association with the five white Dallas police officers who were killed claiming that using the phrase with a “majority group… gets into very tricky territory.”

Appearing on “CNN Newsroom” with guest host Ana Cabrera, Lemieux said, “I have to say, I would not describe hate crime as the most comfortable word choice, considering these circumstances. There’s so much that we do not know about what took place, what motivated this person. We only have the one account of law enforcement. We haven’t had the opportunity to really look into his history in a meaningful way.”

Sharpton Promises ‘Season of Civil Disobedience’

Al Sharpton promised a “season of civil disobedience” in reaction to the nomination of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) for attorney general in the Trump administration.

Sharpton, an MSNBC host, said activists have planned a march in Washington on Jan. 14 during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend to protest the Sessions nomination. Sharpton recalled spending 90 days in jail for protesting on U.S. Navy land against military exercises on the island of Vieques in 2001 when George W. Bush was president, adding that civil disobedience usually works because it changes policy.

“We’re not just doing this to be doing it. We do it because it can lead to change and, believe me, there will be a season of civil disobedience particularly around the Sessions nomination,” he said Friday on a conference call with other civil rights organizations’ leaders such as Cornell William Brooks, president and CEO of the NAACP, and Janet Murguia, president and CEO of the National Council of La Raza.

U.S. Navy destroyer fires warning shots at Iranian vessels -U.S. officials

WASHINGTON, Jan 9 (Reuters) - A U.S. Navy destroyer fired three warning shots at four Iranian fast-attack vessels after they closed in at a high rate of speed near the Strait of Hormuz, two U.S. defense officials told Reuters on Monday.

The incident, which occurred Sunday and was first reported by Reuters, comes as U.S. President-elect Donald Trump prepares to take office on Jan. 20. In September, Trump vowed that any Iranian vessels that harass the U.S. Navy in the Gulf would be "shot out of the water."

The officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the USS Mahan established radio communication with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps boats but they did not respond to requests to slow down and continued asking the Mahan questions.

The Navy destroyer fired warning flares and a U.S. Navy helicopter also dropped a smoke float before the warning shots were fired.

NO EXCUSES 1-8-17

My Wife made it from Ocean City to Delmar, DE. today without any incident.

So if she can go all that way under these road conditions and any one of you are on the side of a road, in a ditch or in an accident, you do not belong behind the wheel of a car.

For those of you driving pickup trucks and find yourselves in similar situations as above, LMAO! A Toyota Prius will prove vindication over all those attacks.

Folks, send us pictures of any and all vehicles stranded or wrecked. Let's have some fun with this.

What Happens to the Democratic Party After Obama?

The outgoing president narrowed the party’s appeal in ways that helped the GOP. Democrats may need to widen it again if they hope to recover power.

In his bittersweet farewell address this week, President Obama made a passionate case for both his policy agenda and his civic vision of a nation strengthened by diversity. But his words won’t settle the Democrats’ difficult debate about his political legacy.

Through two terms, Obama deepened the Democrats’ connection with a constellation of growing groups, namely minorities, the millennial generation, and college-educated whites, especially women. That coalition allowed him to join the ranks of Andrew Jackson and Franklin Roosevelt, the only Democrats to win a presidential popular-vote majority at least twice.

But Obama also narrowed the Democrats’ appeal, both demographically and geographically, in ways that helped Republicans seize unified control of the White House and Congress and establish their biggest advantage in state governments since the 1920s.

Both these positive and negative trends for the Democratic Party predate Obama’s first campaign, and the latter trends were accentuated by Hillary Clinton’s unique weaknesses in 2016. But Obama intensified these dynamics with a distinctive strategy that bound Democrats to the political priorities of their heavily urbanized new coalition, especially on cultural issues from gay rights to immigration reform. That came at the price of further alienating the GOP’s competing coalition of older, blue-collar, and religiously devout whites, who live largely outside of urban areas. And it was those voters who mobilized to narrowly elect Trump and preserve Republican control of Congress.
