The Difference Between Treated and Non Treated Roads
So when you ask, why don't they salt the side roads then? Well, get out your tax dollars because you'd not only have to buy tons of salt, you'd have to also build a new facility to store the salt in.
Quit making excuses. I saw a lot of waste and unused roads plowed vs used roads not plowed. I drove on the stretch of road today to go to work and if they had bothered to come by again and give it a good plow it would have melted a bit.

Access road behind the old mall was pristine, while Glen Ave was a nightmare.
Lets be honest here. The city does not do a very good job at managing snow and makes excuses for it. I am sure they could trim some of their wasteful ways (like the money spent on the useless bike lanes) and buy some salt.
All melting starting tomorrow at 11:00 am, no more freezing temps for 5 days/ nights or so!

ReplyDeleteI bet the workers that are plowing the roads have plowed the streets they live on multiple times. Most of the roads where I live, by the airport haven't been touched.

Deleteeverybody wants to leave about 10 minutes to late to go to work and make it up on the road. the only way people around here know how to drive is full bore, they don't know how to slow down for anything.
ReplyDeleteBoth state and county have worked hard to get were we are as of Saturday. We are really lucky to have them. Leave early ,drive slow, and prepare and the rest will take care of itself.

ReplyDeleteBefore long they ll be making homeowners responsible for clearing their own street. I hope i didnt just give the local law makers a idea. Of course they ll have the privilege of being exempt. Bet their roads look spotless

"Priscilla street, they plowed on side and not the other." That's how they do it in Salisbury. They finally made it down my street in a pickup truck with a small blade and only made one sweep. There is still about 6 inches of snow on the road.
