Council President John Cannon Purposely Putting Roadblocks To Stop Economic Development

Even though the entire County Council have already agreed to a $600,000.00 budget for a new Economic Development Department in Wicomico County, even though they've already had public hearings on this matter. RINO John Cannon is purposely stonewalling Executive Culver by asking for yet another public hearing.

Councilman Matt Holloway stated this week that the Council has already approved this new department, we need to support it and move on.

It has been proven for at least two decades that Maryland has NOT been business friendly and John Cannon is living proof that he is trying to stop Executive Culver from moving the County in a forward direction. Even Dave Ryan from SWED stated he agrees that more boots on the ground will only help.

When John Cannon and Bob Culver ran for Office, BOTH of them used a platform stating the most important thing the County needed was JOBS. Creating a new Economic Development Department is the right move. We need fresh blood, fresh ideas, new energy and by golly we need to support such an idea.

In my honest opinion, I think John Cannon is planning to run for County Executive in the next election and will do whatever it takes, (great ideas) to stop any progress for Executive Culver.

There's always an agenda and if Cannon thinks holding another public hearing is necessary, well, the man is completely clueless because this is the ONLY way to move the County forward when it comes to job creation. Unless, that is, Mr. Cannon believes he's got a better idea, which I highly doubt.

We need to show Wicomico County is open for business and representatives like John Cannon need to get out of the way and stop playing politics.

PEOPLE NEED JOBS MR. CANNON!

Sheriff Clarke: Obama ‘Started This War on Police’

(CNSNews) – In response to the execution-style murder of Harris County Deputy Sheriff Darren Goforth, who was shot multiple times at a gas station in Cypress, Texas, Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. strongly criticized what he called the “black lies matter” movement and stressed that President Barack Obama himself had “started this war on police.”

On Fox’s “Justice With Judge Jeanine” on Aug. 29, the host asked Sheriff Clarke, “Is it open season on law enforcement in this country?”

Sheriff Clarke said, “Judge, I am too p***d off tonight to be diplomatic about what’s going on and I’m not going to stick my head in the sand about it.”

Later in the interview, Judge Jeanine asked, “Finally, sheriff, the national rhetoric that’s going on. You say that people need to push back and we need, when we see things on Facebook and social media. You know, the truth is, people can say and do what they want. This is America. But, without leadership, there isn’t going to be any different reaction. More people seem to be emboldened by this kind of thing.”

Sheriff Clarke said, “Right, and that’s why I said that the president of the United States started this war on police.”

The Department of Justice Has Been Investigating The Wicomico Board of Ed Since 2012

Salisbury News has just confirmed that the Department of Justice has been investigating Salisbury Middle School since 2012.

The multiple complaints came from the black community stating their people have been targeted for discipline more so then white students.

Well no crap! Salisbury Middle School is 80% black, (+ or -) and there are teachers in that school who have 100% black students in their class.

The DOJ recently delivered a 38 page report that does not look favorable towards the BOE and it's no wonder Fredericksen has put in his resignation.

There will be another meeting in about two weeks in which the DOJ will lay down the law and you can expect some serious fines. Why, I don't know. Why rob Peter to pay Paul.

Sheriff: 'It's Open Season on Law Enforcement Across This Country'

Mike Lewis, sheriff in Wicomico County, Md., told Sean Hannity tonight that anti-police rhetoric from groups like Black Lives Matter can have dangerous, potentially deadly consequences for officers.

"It's open season on law enforcement across this country," Lewis said. "American law enforcement [officers] are under siege."

Lewis said that it all started with the lie of "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" in Ferguson, Mo.

"Everybody's scared to death to do their job, scared to pull the trigger," Lewis said. "The last seven days, we've lost seven police officers."

16,767 Wicomico Jobs Vanished - US Bureau of Labor's Newly Created Job Count Methodology Skews Wicomico's Employment Numbers History

This past March, 2015 - SBYNEWS team uncovered and disclosed to our audience revealing the USBLS - (nations employment reporting agency) - restated its previously reported jobs statistics going back as far as 2011.  In essence - when the US Federal Agency took action to restate its previous job statistics - it resulted and created an illusion that the employment scene is much better than it had originally been reported.

In early May - our staff alerted the Maryland Governor's office, and, we also packaged up the data and submitted our findings to key FOX news network officials in hopes that they might be in a better position to expose the May employment numbers debasement.  As of to date - FOX news officials have not yet responded to our report.

As the Presidential election year quickly approaches - it is our staffs opinion that the Democratically controlled Presidential cabinet has attempted to try and re-write our nations employment history - hoping that the public won't catch on.  And for the most part - they have been successful since none of the MSM news agencies seems to have noticed.

And so the SBYnews team would like to remind our viewing audience - and to make you aware - of the strong delusional influence that is currently being 'spun' by the status-quo Democratic machine.  We sincerely hope that our reading audience is more astute than to be led astray by the Democrats attempt to rewrite our nations employment history.

JUST IN: Senate Dems get 34th vote to hand Obama victory on Iran deal

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Democrats have rallied the 34 votes they need to keep the Iran nuclear deal alive in Congress, handing President Barack Obama a major foreign policy victory.

Sen. Barbara Mikulski of Maryland became the crucial 34th vote Wednesday morning, declaring the agreement is the best way to curb Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Congress is to vote later this month on a resolution disapproving the deal, which is unanimously opposed by Republicans, who call it a dangerous giveaway to Iran.

Obama has vowed to veto the resolution if it passes. It would take 34 votes to uphold his veto, and Democrats now have those in hand.

Will clerk issue gay marriage licenses after court ruling?

MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) — A county clerk in Kentucky has again refused to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, invoking her religious beliefs and "God's authority" — this time in defiance of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling against her.

On Tuesday morning, Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis' office denied the licenses to at least two couples. At first, Davis was in her office with the door closed and blinds drawn. But she emerged a few minutes later, telling the couples and the activists gathered there that her office is continuing to deny the licenses "under God's authority."

Philadelphia Eagles release QB Tim Tebow

When the Eagles dealt Matt Barkley on Friday, it looked as though Tim Tebow's path to the 53-man roster was clear.

Unfortunately for him, Chip Kelly just wasn't impressed enough. Tebow was let go on Saturday during the final hours of roster downsizing, the team announced Saturday. ESPN first reported the cut.

Ultimately it wasn't about Barkley or Tebow winning a battle. It was about one of them looking like a pro-ready quarterback, and Kelly decided not give either a job. That doesn't mean he's locked into keeping only two quarterbacks. NFL Media's Rand Getlin says the team has interest in signing Christian Ponder, according to multiple sources. Ponder is expected to be cut or traded by the Oakland Raiders.

O'Malley: U.S. should accept 65,000 Syrian refugees

Washington (CNN)Martin O'Malley wants the U.S. to welcome at least 65,000 Syrian refugees by the end of 2016.

Syrian refugees are flooding Europe following the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Syrians due to ethnic violence in the Middle East. The migrant crisis has engulfed Europe, leading many to ask whether the U.S. would take refugees from the continued fighting in Syria.

Despite Business Fears, Ocean City Moving Ahead With Law Changes Aimed At Taming Auto Events

OCEAN CITY – The local business community voiced concerns Tuesday as the majority of the City Council voted to push through laws aimed at getting a grip on motor vehicle events.

For the last couple of years, city officials have been promising action to ease residents’ concerns when it comes to vehicular events in Ocean City and the Police Commission last month issued a favorable recommendation on several proposed changes to city laws.

The most recent event of concern was Cruisin’ in May with 3,400 classic cars officially registered for the event and tens of thousands of more “wannabes,” as the event promoter refers to them. While the officially registered participants appeared to be well behaved for the most part and attended the event’s official activities at the Inlet and Roland E. Powell Convention Center, the latter group raced up and down Coastal Highway and other streets, dumped trash in parking lots and left a considerable amount of rubber on the roads.

State Looking Into O’Malley’s Discount Purchase Of Furniture

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) — A furniture feud is brewing in Maryland. Governor Larry Hogan blasts former governor Martin O’Malley for buying fancy furniture from the governor’s mansion at a deep discount. The State Ethics Commission is now looking into the matter.

Meghan McCorkell with the controversy.

O’Malley officials say the purchases were above board and the governor followed standard operating procedure from the Department of General Services.

As Martin O’Malley moved out of the governor’s mansion, a new Baltimore Sun investigation unveils a lot of furniture went with him.

A chair bought in 2004 for $1,500 sold to O’Malley for $15. The governor spent $12 on a mirror bought in 1995 for $1,200. For $8, he got a table that retailed for nearly $900 in 2003.

In all, the O’Malleys purchased 54 pieces of furniture that taxpayers paid $62,000 for–all for $9,600.

All of it was declared “junk” that would be thrown away.

But on his Facebook page, Governor Larry Hogan says: “If they call that expensive, beautiful barely used furniture ‘junk,’ I’d hate to hear what they call the 20 year old stuff I brought with me from my house to replace it all.”

Information Leaks From Wicomico Board Of Ed And They Get Pissed Off

Here's the deal. The first image below is a prime example of how stupid these educators are. First of all, even I caught the FACT that it's not more than FIVE times in "this year". They were so quick to respond to our article that they didn't even read what the paperwork states. It's five passes for "each term", not the entire year. Someone was trying to cover their rear.

Now, since when should ANY student depend on their educators teaching them "economy" ethics? After all, wasn't it these educators who pissed away $140,000.00 (+ or -) on GIFT CARDS for the children when in fact that were using that money to go to Bars and Restaurants instead!

Nevertheless, the following was found on Facebook below. By the way, it's not "Them they'll", it's THEN they'll.

It's not just one school in the county. My son just presented his 3 bathroom passes for the semester. As you can see in the picture they are allowed 7 minutes or they will get detention. I asked what if you have to go 4 or more times? What's the penalty? He said he was told you simply can not go more than 3 times per semester. Well I am not nor will I accept this period. This is the most absurd rule I have ever heard of. I understand the abuse by some students, and those that abuse the use should be punished, but every student being punished is just nuts. Anyway I will be at Bennett high tomorrow to make it very clear that my son will not be punished for using the restroom period. No student should be forced to hold in the need to use a restroom or possibly have an accident just because of poor policies. I hope more parents speak up so these types of policies are eradicated from the school system.

Earlier today we published the following story:

MIKULSKI ANNOUNCES MORE THAN $142,000 IN FEDERAL FUNDS FOR BULLETPROOF VESTS TO KEEP MARYLAND POLICE OFFICERS SAFE

Now here's what's interesting about the article you probably didn't recognize. When you click on the MORE link to read the entire story it directs you to who paid what for the vests as shown below.
  • Baltimore City School District  9 vests  $2,080.45 = $231.16 per vest
  • Bel Air Town 6 vests $2837.94 = $472.99 per vest
  • Bladensburg Town 10 vests $3,412.56 = $341.25 per vest
  • Brunswick City 4 vests $1,366.98 = $341.75 per vest
  • Calvert County 45 vests $13,600.13 = $302.23 per vest
  • Cambridge City 24 vests $6,209.98 = $258.75 per vest
  • Caroline County 10 vests $3,685.96 = $368.60 per vest
  • Chevy Chase Village Town  2 vests $788.45 = $394.23 per vest
  • Cumberland City 8 vests $2,089.52 = $261.19 per vest
  • Dorchester County 10 vests $3,661.55 = $366.16 per vest
  • Frederick City 25 vests $8,543.61 = $341.74 per vest
  • Gaithersburg City 23 vests $12,040.80 = $523.51 per vest
  • Hagerstown City 10 vests $4,393.85 = $439.39 per vest
  • Havre De Grace City 10 vests $5,101.75 = $510.18 per vest
  • Hurlock Town  3 vests $805.54 = $268.51 per vest
  • Hyattsville City 3 vests $966.43 = $322.14 per vest
  • Landover Hills Town 1 vest $304.90
  • Laplata Town 4 vests $1,382.60 = $345.65 per vest
  • Laurel City 6 vests $2,060.66 = $343.44 per vest
  • Mount Rainier City 6 vests $2,534.77 = $422.46 per vest
  • Ocean City Town 36 vests $17,092.09 = $474.78 per vest
  • Ocean Pines 7 vests $3,970.11 = $567.16 per vest
  • Rockville City 21 vests $7,791.77 = $371.04 per vest
  • Salisbury City 32 vests $15,708.03 = $490.88 per vest
  • St Michaels Town 3 vests $1,154.61 = $384.87 per vest
  • Westminster City 11 vests $4,322.80 = $392.98 per vest
  • Wicomico County 32 vests $11,657.73 = $364.30 per vest
  • Worcester County 7 vests $3,029.32 = $432.76 per vest

Now ANYONE with ANY business sense would look at the above samples and say, WHAT!

Isn't it interesting how one department can pay as low as $231.16 per vest, yet Ocean Pines is paying $567.16 per vest. Now, either Ocean Pines has a ton of really obese police officers, (officers are fitted for their vest) or their officers are more valued, (their lives matter most) then any other department in the state.

On top of that, IF by chance they are ordering a better caliber of vest, (rifle vs. pistol) is the state/feds trying to say Ocean Pines officers deal with more criminals using long rage rifles then anywhere else in the state?

Clearly this is OUR tax dollars being blown in so many directions without any accountability whatsoever.

AND, why are the FEDS getting involved in PAYING for all of these vests for LOCAL municipalities? Could it be that our Federal Government is now gearing up for a nation wide Federal Police Force??? They've been providing assault weapons, assault vehicles, assault gear and now vests.

All in all, isn't there an FOP in ALL states? WHY aren't they working NATIONALLY to purchase these vests ON OUR DIME as ONE order for ALL police Officers, getting the best and lowest price, period? Heck, forget the national level, why isn't Maryland Law Enforcement placing ONE order for ALL our officers?

It makes no sense that a place like Landover Hills can place an order for ONE vest and only pay $304.00 when Salisbury orders 32 vests and pays $490.00 each!!!

The numbers make absolutely no sense, yet Babs wants to pound her chest like she's doing ANYONE a favor! Is this price fixing? Is someone getting a piece of the action? If it is price fixing, how can the Feds use OUR money to screw us? I mean, isn't this exactly why we elected our representatives to protect us from such corruption!

IF by chance there are different quality/safety levels of vests, don't ALL Blue Lives Matter? Obviously Not!

JUST IN: Judge Orders Six Separate Trials For Police Officers Charged In Freddie Gray's Death

A Baltimore judge on Wednesday ordered separate trials for six police officers facing criminal charges in the death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray. He died in April after suffering a a severed spine while in police custody. The judge also refused to remove the case's chief prosecutor, State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby.

In addition, Circuit Court Judge Barry Williams denied a defense motion for the charges against the officers to be dropped.

Defense attorneys had sought to dismiss the charges - which range from second-degree assault to second-degree murder - because of prosecutorial misconduct. The judge, however, said that while he was "troubled" by Mosby's public comments regarding initial statements made by the officers to investigators, they are not likely to prejudice a jury.

Andrew Graham, an attorney representing Officer Caesar Goodson, had unsuccessfully argued that Mosby's comments after filing charges against the officers were "reckless and unprofessional," and violated the rules of conduct. He likened Mosby's comments on the case to a "pep rally calling for payback."

Video: Horse Kicks Lifeguard on Beach At Assateague Island National Seashore

Horse Kicks Lifeguard on Beach
The human/horse interaction that was captured here over the weekend is a stark reminder of the power and unpredictability of wild horses. These types of interactions can happen in an instant, even to National Park Service personnel who have been trained to move horses from the beach. Help prevent this scenario from happening in the first place by folllowing these simple tips:* Please do not make food or water available to the horses.* When possible, keep food safely stored in a vehicle. If food must be brought to the beach, store it in a sturdy zippered bag or in a cooler that is secured shut with a strap.* Give the horses their space. Move at least a bus length away when a horse approaches. Do not try to save your belongings; wait until the horse is out of the area.*Wild horses communicate. Watch for pinned ears and sudden movements, as they indicate agitation that can lead to kicking and biting.Unfortunately, incidents like this happen every year. The lifeguard in the video suffered minor abrasions but was otherwise unhurt. Regardless of your comfort level around horses remember that the wild horses are powerful, unpredictable animals.

How much you should have saved for retirement right now

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) —How much should you have saved for retirement? There's actually a simple answer to that. You'll need to start with a bunch of basic assumptions, but all you really need to know is your income and your age.

In your 20s

Let's take a look at hypothetical Joe, who is hired straight out of college. By the time he's 25 years old, he's making $40,000 a year. He should have $4,000 socked away in his retirement fund, if he wants to retire at age 65.

How you can get there: Make sure you're contributing enough to your 401(k) to get the full match from your employer.

In your 30s

Joe finds a new job and at age 35 is now making $55,000 a year. At this point he should have $82,500 saved for retirement.

Maryland ranked among nation’s worst states to drive

WASHINGTON — Nothing about driving in this area is tremendous, but a new survey says Maryland is one of the worst places of all.

Bankrate.com’s ratings took into account factors such as the number of fatal crashes; car thefts; car repair costs; gasoline spending; insurance premiums; and commute times, and found Maryland the fourth-worst state in the country to drive in.

Specifically, Maryland has the longest average commute in the U.S. (30 minutes, about 6 minutes above the national average), as well as the 11th-highest insurance premiums. It also ranked above average in repair costs, rate of car thefts and annual gas spending.

Maryland did, however, have the sixth-lowest rate of fatal crashes in the country — 0.83 deaths per 100 million miles driven.

NC State Students Will Be PUNISHED For ‘Sexist’ Language

A professor at North Carolina State University is warning students in her gender studies class to refrain from using any “sexist language” in their writing, or else face penalties to their grades.

The sexism that professor Nancy Bishop hopes to squelch includes words such as “mankind” and the word “he” when used to describe a non-gendered person.

“Thanks to evolution, generalized pronouns and other biased references are no longer acceptable in any class,” warns Bishop in a syllabus obtained by The College Fix. “You may NOT use ‘he’ or ‘him’ or ‘man’ to refer to both men and women. ‘Mankind’ can be replaced by ‘humans’ or ‘humankind,’ and ‘he’ can be ‘she or he.'”

Pentagon Not Targeting Islamic State Training Camps

No airstrikes against 60 camps producing 1,000 fighters monthly

The Pentagon has not conducted airstrikes against an estimated 60 Islamic State (IS) training camps that are supplying thousands of fighters each month to the terror group, according to defense and intelligence officials.

The camps are spread throughout Islamic State-controlled areas of Iraq and Syria and are off limits in the U.S.-led international bombing campaign because of concerns about collateral damage, said officials familiar with planning and execution of the yearlong bombing campaign.

Additionally, the IS (also known as ISIS or ISIL) camps have been so successful that Islamic State leaders are considering expanding the camps to Libya and Yemen. Both states have become largely ungoverned areas in recent years.

The failure to target the training camps with U.S. and allied airstrikes is raising questions among some defense and intelligence officials about the commitment of President Obama and his senior aides to the current anti-IS strategy of degrading and ultimately destroying the terror group.

“If we know the location of these camps, and the president wants to destroy ISIS, why are the camps still functioning?” one official critical of the policy asked.

Kanye West rants at VMAs: I have decided to 'run for president'

In typical Kanye West fashion, the rapper delivered a rambling, nonsensical speech when he was presented with the Video Vanguard Award at the 2015 VMAs on Sunday night.

Taylor Swift politely presented Kim Kardashian’s husband with the award, and after he stood silently on stage for several moments, he ranted about crashing Taylor Swift’s award acceptance speech six years ago.

Then, in a seemingly never-ending soliloquy West bashed MTV for reairing the clip of him interrupting Swift on stage and for having her present him with the award.

“I don’t understand award shows!” West ranted. “F—k that, bro”

At one point in his speech, West said he was on drugs.

State ethics board examining Martin O'Malley's purchase of mansion furniture

An assistant attorney general asked Friday for a state ethics commission ruling on whether former Gov. Martin O'Malley's purchase of furniture from the governor's mansion violated rules regarding state-owned property.

When O'Malley and his family moved out of the mansion in January, they left with most of its taxpayer-purchased furnishings — 54 items that he bought at steep discounts because every piece had been declared "junk" by his administration.

O'Malley and his wife, Baltimore District Judge Catherine Curran O'Malley, paid $9,638 for armoires, beds, chairs, desks, lamps, mirrors, ottomans, tables and other items that originally cost taxpayers $62,000, according to documents obtained by The Baltimore Sun

A Cure for Cheap Beer?

Open the fridge, grab a frosty one, pop off the cap and enjoy. That’s the ritual performed countless times a day by us beer drinkers. And we’re all doing it wrong.

At least, that’s what Philip Petracca, co-founder of New Hampshire-based Fizzics, believes. His company’s mission is to give every one of us the “perfect pour.” How? With a home beer tap machine that uses science to improve the drinking experience, regardless of the brand. The secret to making any beer taste better is in getting a better head, Petracca claims. Beer in cans, bottles or barrels contains a lot of dissolved CO2 under pressure, he says, and when improperly handled it can cause bubbles and foam to overflow or improperly foam.

So, if the bubbles are too big — a common result of a hand-pour — our mouths perceive a “grainy” feel, which can lead many a beer drinker to avoid pouring heads altogether. But that’s a mistake, according to Petracca. Not only does the head insulate the rest of the beer from flavor-robbing oxygen (even a few minutes of air exposure can degrade the taste), but it can also help seal in the gases that give beer its effervescence, something that likewise maximizes flavor.
