Accreditation Assessment Team Invites Public Comment

Dover, DE. - A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) arrived today Monday, April 11, 2016, to examine all aspects of the Delaware State Police’s policy and procedures, management, operations, and support services.

“Verification by the team that the Delaware State Police meets the Commission’s state-of-the-art standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation – a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence,” says Delaware State Police Superintendent Nathaniel McQueen.

As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 4 p.m. The session will be conducted in the Delaware State Police Museum Conference room which is located at 1425 North DuPont Highway Dover, DE 19901.

If, for some reason, an individual cannot speak at the public information session but would still like to provide comments to the Assessment Team, he/she may do so by telephone. The public may call (302) 257-3758 on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 between the hours of 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Comments will be received by the Assessment Team.

Telephone comments as well as appearances at the public information session are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA’s standards. A copy of the standards is available at the Delaware State Police Troop 2 located at 100 Lagrange Avenue Newark, DE 19702. The local contact is the Accreditation Manager, Sgt. William Nottingham, at (302) 365-8474.

Anyone wishing to offer written comments about the Delaware State Police’s ability to comply with standards for accreditation may send them to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), 13575 Heathcote Blvd., Suite 320, Gainesville, VA, 20155.

The Delaware State Police has to comply with over 483 standards in order to gain accredited status, Colonel Nathaniel McQueen said.
The Program Manager from CALEA for the Delaware State Police is Mr. John Gregory. The Assessment Team is composed of law enforcement practitioners from similar but out-of-state agencies. The assessors will review written materials, interview individuals, and visit offices and places where compliance can be witnessed.

The assessors are:

Team Leader: Mr. Dean Register, Florida Department of Law Enforcement
Team Member: Ms. Cindy Ledford, Georgia Bureau of Investigation
Once the CALEA Assessors complete their review of the agency, they report back to the full Commission, which will then decide if the agency is to be granted accredited status, Program Manager John Gregory stated.

Accreditation is for three years, during which the agency must submit annual reports attesting continued compliance with those standards under which it was initially accredited.

For more information regarding the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), please write to 13575 Heathcote Blvd., Suite 320, Gainesville, VA, 20155; or call (703) 352-4225.

Panama Papers Reveal Clinton’s Kremlin Connection

John and Tony Podesta aren’t fooling anyone

The revelations of the so-called Panama Papers that are roiling the world’s political and financial elites this week include important facts about Team Clinton. This unprecedented trove of documents purloined from a shady Panama law firm that arranged tax havens, and perhaps money laundering, for the globe’s super-rich includes juicy insights into how Russia’s elite hides its ill-gotten wealth.

Almost lost among the many revelations is the fact that Russia’s biggest bank usesThe Podesta Group as its lobbyist in Washington, D.C. Though hardly a household name, this firm is well known inside the Beltway, not least because its CEO is Tony Podesta, one of the best-connected Democratic machers in the country. He founded the firm in 1998 with his brother John, formerly chief of staff to President Bill Clinton, then counselor to President Barack Obama, Mr. Podesta is the very definition of a Democratic insider. Outsiders engage the Podestas and their well-connected lobbying firm to improve their image and get access to Democratic bigwigs.

Which is exactly what Sberbank, Russia’s biggest financial institution, did this spring. As reported at the end of March, the Podesta Group registered with the U.S. Government as a lobbyist for Sberbank, as required by law, naming three Podesta Group staffers: Tony Podesta plus Stephen Rademaker and David Adams, the last two former assistant secretaries of state. It should be noted that Tony Podesta is a big-money bundler for the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign while his brother John is the chairman of that campaign, the chief architect of her plans to take the White House this November.

FASCISM: Dayton Mayor BANS Travel to North Carolina, Mississippi…

One of the greatest ideas of the United States of America is how, as a people, we can live together in relative harmony even if we disagree with each other. At least that was the general idea the Founding Fathers had all the way back in 1776. Problem is, old Ben Franklin and Tommy Jefferson didn’t realize that one day, men dressing as women would want to use the girls’ potties. But that’s what you get with a bunch of white guys just sitting around thinking about silly things like “freedom.” Jerks.

In a move we can only call fascism, the esteemed mayor of Dayton, Ohio has banned city-employee travel to North Carolina and Mississippi. Because, you know, those states say if you were born with a penis, you’ll need to use the bathroom with the urinals.

In the memo, Mayor Whaley argues that the travel ban is in the best interest of Dayton – that the goals of the city and commission are best served by living according to their values:

“Ensuring individuals are free from discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity is a compelling government interest and an important value of the City of Dayton. Policies of the City of Dayton should be in alignment with the Ordinances of the City of Dayton and priorities established by the Dayton City Commission.”

Reminder to Mayor Whaley: the USA is a representative republic. It is not a dictatorship. She’s an elected official. She is not the Duchess who gets to write edicts to tell her serfs where they can and cannot travel.

Yet she unilaterally decided what was in the best interest for the city of Dayton. That employees wishing to travel to North Carolina or Mississippi cannot travel there. Why? Because apparently this is hate speech:

Vietnam Vet, 70, Uses Cane to foil Waffle House Robbery

A 70-year-old Army vet foiled a robbery at a North Carolina Waffle House when he cracked the would-be robber in the nose with his cane.

Phillip Brooks was about to sit down for breakfast at the Waffle House in Fayetteville on April 2 when a man with an AK-47 style rifle rushed in and announced a robbery.

Brooks, who served two tours in Vietnam, recognized the weapon as a fake, WRAL-TV reported Friday.

“All the working parts were missing, so I just told the girls, ‘Don’t give him anything. That’s a fake gun,’” he said.

Brooks told the station he sprung into action when he saw the weapon pointed at him.

“I hit him in the nose with my cane,” the vet said.

Democrats Should Not Delay Redistricting Reform

From The Washington Post

“The Maryland legislature has a chance to put an initiative on the ballot this fall to create a citizens redistricting commission, and we encourage it to do so before the 2016 legislative session ends Monday.”

The Washington Post
Ellen Tauscher & John Tanner
April 7, 2016

“Congress has grown more polarized and paralyzed partly because of partisan redistricting in key states around the country. Gerrymandering by Democratic and Republican legislatures has made most congressional districts so red or blue that the campaigns are won or lost in the primaries. As a result, general elections have become irrelevant in all but a few dozen of the 435 House races. Members of Congress are accountable only to the partisan bases of their parties. The framers of the Constitution would be shocked that so few of those in the ‘People’s House’ are at risk in general elections.

“The answer is to take the redistricting process out of the hands of state legislatures and governors and put it in the hands of nonpartisan citizens redistricting commissions.

“The Maryland legislature has a chance to put an initiative on the ballot this fall to create a citizens redistricting commission, and we encourage it to do so before the 2016 legislative session ends Monday. …

“Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) proposed a citizens redistricting commission. Unfortunately, the Democratic-controlled legislature has shown no enthusiasm for the measure.

“The Democratic leadership of the legislature has concerns about disarming in the redistricting wars. Some have suggested that they would be willing to put a citizens redistricting commission on the ballot if a Republican-dominated state, such as Virginia, did so. After all, they argue, that would only be fair.

“But what is fair to the American people about the current situation? As Republican legislatures have done, Maryland’s Democrats drew some of the most gerrymandered districts in the country. Manipulating the process for partisan reasons is not fair to voters, no matter which side does it.

“Although we understand the partisan concerns of our fellow Democrats, Congress and state legislatures will function better when the lines are drawn fairly, enabling the election of less partisan representatives who can work together to get things done for their constituents. ...

“As Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg wrote in a ruling last summer affirming the role of citizens through ballot initiatives to take line-drawing from state legislatures and governors and give it to nonpartisan redistricting commissions, ‘voters should choose their representatives, not the other way around.’ …

“Our bipartisan organization, YouDrawTheLines2021, is dedicated to supporting ballot initiatives to establish nonpartisan citizens redistricting commissions. We urge our fellow Democrats in the Maryland legislature to do the right thing and let voters decide who should draw the lines in 2021.”

Subject: Va. Gov. McAuliffe Vetoes Bill That Requires Schools to Notify Parents About Sexually Explicit Materials

Looks like Left-wing Gov. Terry McAuliffe of Virginia is siding with secretive perversion over parental rights after vetoing a bill that would have required schools to notify parents when they are being presented sexually explicit materials. It’s no wonder more and more Americans have had it with the ruling class.

As reported by AMI Newswire, McAuliffe vetoed a measure known as the “Beloved Bill,” a measure that would have required local schools to notify parents about the use of instructional material containing sexually explicit content, and mandated that teachers provide alternative content if a parent objects to the original material.

In his veto message, McAuliffe said the state’s board of education “is already considering this issue in a broader and more complete context,” and that the bill’s “lack of flexibility” would “require the label of ‘sexually explicit’ to apply to an artistic work based on a single scene, without further context.”

Why that is problematic to a governor who is also a parent is a head scratcher, considering that McAuliffe the father more than likely would have objected to having sexually explicit materials secretly force-fed to his kids.

The legislation, sponsored by House Education Committee Chairman Steve Landes (R-Weyers Cave), passed the House of Delegates 98-0 (this includes all Democrats in the House of Delegates as well). The Senate approved the measure 22-17, indicating the chances of a veto override are uncertain.

How Television Breeds Incivility

In a year when civility and courtesy have been replaced by insults and vulgarity in the nation’s political conversation, why would anyone want to reopen one of the most divisive episodes in recent American history? And yet that is exactly what HBO is doing by airing a movie on the Senate hearings to confirm Clarence Thomas as a Supreme Court justice.

Few knew anything about Clarence Thomas in 1991 when President George H.W. Bush nominated him to replace Thurgood Marshall on the Court, but many were struck by what a talented nominee he was. It’s a great day, I thought, when a white Republican president proposes a black lawyer for the highest court in the land. Justice Thomas was not the first black justice (Justice Marshall held that honor), but his nomination was a genuine measure of progress in our society. (Full disclosure: My wife and I have gotten to know Clarence Thomas and his wife in the years since he joined the court, and are now close personal friends.)

Then the confirmation hearings began, and it was shocking the way Mr. Thomas was attacked on a personal basis. It was character assassination — or as Mr. Thomas said at the time, “a high tech lynching.”

Rather than challenge his legal philosophy or educational credentials, which would have been fair game, his opponents tried to destroy his character with half-truths, lies and innuendo. They attacked Mr. Thomas with virtually no evidence to support their accusations. In fact, the accusations appear to have been fabricated for the confirmation hearing alone. Their tactics fascinated the press and public, but it was sickening to watch such a fine man treated in such an unfair way

Obama Insists Hillary Clinton’s Server Did Not Endanger National Security

President Obama said Sunday that Hillary Clinton showed “carelessness” by using a private email server, but he also strongly defended his former secretary of state, saying she did not endanger national security, while also vowing that an ongoing FBI investigation into the matter will not be tainted by politics.

In an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” Mr. Obama seemed to prejudge the outcome of the ongoing inquiry into Mrs. Clinton’s email scandal, and he disputed the notion that any of the emails contained classified information of true importance.

“She would never intentionally put America in any kind of jeopardy,” he said. “What I also know is that there’s classified and then there’s classified. There’s stuff that is really top secret top secret, and then there’s stuff that is being presented to the president, the secretary of state, you may not want going out over the wire.”

IRS Reached Agreement with Atheist Group in 2014 Over Secret ‘Church Investigations’ Procedures

Government watchdog groups have filed a motion in federal court to compel the IRS to reveal how it determines when to initiate “church investigations” after accusing the tax-collecting agency of “stonewalling” efforts to bring to light its procedures.

The motion, filed jointly Friday by the Alliance Defending Freedom and Judicial Watch, came in response to a legal settlement struck in 2014 with an atheist organization, which said the IRS had “resolved the signature authority issue necessary to initiate church examinations.”

“The IRS also has adopted procedures for reviewing, evaluating and determining whether to initiate church investigations,” the Freedom From Religion Foundation said in a press release.

In its 2014 lawsuit the atheist group demanded that the IRS enforce the Johnson Amendment, which prohibits tax-exempt organizations from making political endorsements for elected office. It authorizes the IRS to regulate sermons and other speech to ensure churches comply with the provisions of their designations.

The IRS began producing documents in July, months after the ADF and Judicial Watch had sued the agency for failing to comply with a Freedom of Information Act request. But even then the agency withheld more than 10,000 of the 16,000 requested documents, and thousands of the released documents were completely redacted, according to the ADF.

“The Obama IRS first ignored the ADF FOIA request and is now stonewalling in federal court,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a press release.

Benghazi Committee Member Rep. Elijah Cummings Endorses Clinton

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Sunday picked up a big endorsement for her presidential bid from Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings.

"I know Hillary Clinton," Cummings said. "I knew her as first lady when she and her husband Bill Clinton led our nation to peace and prosperity." Clinton has also been an advocate for low-income children and families, he said.

Cummings had remained neutral in the Democratic primary process, party because of his roll as ranking Democrat on the committee investigating the attacks on the U.S. diplomatic compound and CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya. Clinton is a central figure in the investigation.

Rambunctious La Niña to Follow Docile El Niño

Overheated tropical waters in the Pacific are set to flip to a cooling phase that will say goodbye to the docile little boy called “El Niño” and prepare for his rambunctious little sister, “La Niña.”

Breitbart News reported in October that the planet was experiencing the most extreme El Niño conditions ever recorded in modern times, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Climate Prediction Center. With the super-heated surface temperatures in sections of the equatorial Pacific Ocean rising to an all-time-high of 10.8 degrees Fahrenheit above normal, the agency predicted a strong El Niño weather pattern would last through winter and then slowly weaken in late spring.

The cyclical Pacific warming trend interrupted and partially reversed prevailing westerly trade winds that normally blow from South America to Polynesia, turn up toward Japan, and then curl along Alaska and the West Coast.

El Niño conditions in 2015 led to an exceptional season of Pacific tropical windstorms and flooding in Europe, according to the “Global Catastrophe Review – 2015” published by Guy Carpenter & Co. insurance risk consultants.

Carpenter estimates that 2015 global weather losses plummeted to just $30.5 billion versus 10-year and 5-year moving averages of around $49.7 billion and $62.6 billion, respectively. Last year’s insurance payouts also marked the lowest total catastrophic weather claims since the 2009 El Niño, and far below the record 2011 La Niña insurance losses of $126 billion.

The eastern two-thirds of the United States experienced a very mild 2015 winter. New Yorkers on Christmas Day were wearing shorts and headed to the beach in 72-degree weather, while Los Angeles surfers headed to local malls to buy sweaters in 59-degree weather.

Obama Taints FBI's Clinton Email Probe

Barack Obama blew another dog whistle at the FBI, seeking to influence its investigation into the possible security threat Hillary Clinton posed by an unsecured email server during her tenure as secretary of state. “I guarantee that there is no political influence in any investigation conducted by the Justice Department, or the FBI — not just in this case, but in any case,” Obama told Fox News during an interview aired Sunday. “Nobody is above the law. How many times do I have to say it?”

Recently, the FBI started questioning longtime Clinton aides regarding the politician’s email habits, signaling that the bureau was getting close to concluding its investigation. But despite Obama’s doublespeak claims to the contrary, he can influence how the law looks on Clinton. Later in the interview, Obama asserted, “I continue to believe that she has not jeopardized America’s national security. Now what I’ve also said is that — and she has acknowledged — that there’s a carelessness, in terms of managing emails, that she has owned, and she recognizes.”

White House: Obama Has No Insight Into Clinton Emails

President Obama doesn't know more about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's emails than the average American, despite his past assurances that Clinton didn't harm U.S. national security by sending out unsecured emails, a White House spokesman said on Monday.

"The president has neither sought nor received a confidential briefing or confidential information about the ongoing investigation," Press Secretary Josh Earnest clarified. "The president's knowledge about this situation is based entirely on public reporting."

On Sunday, Obama clarified comments he made last year that the Democratic presidential front-runner did not hurt national security by using an unsecured email server to communicate during her time at Foggy Bottom.

Earnest tried to reconcile Obama's remarks Sunday with on-going federal prosecutions against government officials who have revealed classified information.

Joe Scarborough: Obama 'Rigged' Clinton Email Probe

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough Monday accused President Barack Obama of rigging the process in favor of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton while the FBI continues its investigation into her use of a private email server, after Obama offered a "guarantee" Sunday that there is no political influence into the probe.

"He said he wasn't going to talk to the attorney general about the pending investigation, but he just did, as he did back in October when he said, 'No national security issues here. Nothing to see, move along," Scarborough said during a panel discussion on his "Morning Joe" program about an interview Obama gave with Fox News' Chris Wallace on Sunday.

During the Sunday interview, Obama told Wallace that Clinton, who served as his secretary of state during his first term in the White House, would "never intentionally put America in any kind of jeopardy," and that he would "guarantee that there is no political influence in any investigation conducted by the Justice Department."

Only THREE U.S. Airports Require Employee Security Checks

Less than a month after a news outfit reported that dozens of airport employees around the country have potential ties to terrorists, officials from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) admit that only three airports in the United States require workers to undergo security checks. The astounding admission, delivered this week before Congress, comes on the heels of a number of cases involving gun and drug-smuggling schemes operated by airline employees at major airports, including those located in Atlanta, New York and San Francisco.

In all of the cases, airport workers used their security badges to access secured areas of their respective facilities without having to undergo any sort of check. As if this weren’t bad enough, last month government records obtained by the media revealed that 73 employees at nearly 40 airports across the nation were flagged for ties to terror in a June 2015 report from the DHS Inspector General’s Office. The files identified two of them working at Logan International Airport in Boston, four at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and six at Seattle-Tacoma International in Washington State. Here’s the government’s explanation for letting the potential terrorists slip by; the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) didn’t have access to the terrorism-related database during the vetting process for those employees.

You can’t make this stuff up!

A Rape Survivor Speaks Out About Transgender Bathrooms

A few months ago, I registered for “The Story Workshop” at the Allender Center in Seattle. Primarily aimed at helping survivors of sexual abuse find the purpose and weight in their fractured personal narratives, the conference promised to be intense but deeply healing.

I don’t know exactly what I expected. I was naively hopeful that I would get a few good writing tips that would enable me to beautify my past and approach it like one of Aesop’s fables—third-person fiction with a perfect little moral at the end of the story.

Hating the Little Girl I Once Was

That’s not what happened. One of the pre-assignments was to write 700 words about a painful childhood memory. I was surprised at the one I chose. It wasn’t a heavy hitter, so to speak. I wrote about a Polaroid picture I kept re-discovering in a shoebox at my parents’ house, and my inability to figure out why looking at it made me want to rip it to shreds.

I’m about ten years old in the picture, with scraggly hair, pale skin, and a vacant expression. I’m wearing my mom’s oversized knit sweater and Oxford shoes my dad had bought me. In my hands is a piece of green felt I’d cut into the shape of New York for a school report about a U.S. state. Coincidentally or not, New York is the place my abuser had recently moved. I think I wanted to be closer to him. Don’t try to understand it. I still don’t.

My small group dissected the story with grace and insight that could only be offered by those who spoke the same horrific language of shame and rage and grief. I felt nothing as I spoke about it. “It is what it is,” I remember saying, committed to my ambivalence. My group leader brushed away a tear and said, “Kaeley, this story breaks my heart. Why do you hate the little girl in that picture so much?” I couldn’t access her understanding or her empathy. I recognized the accuracy of her assessment, but I didn’t know how to change it.

Two Illegal “Dreamers” Rape Maryland Girl, Call her Fresh Meat

In the latest “act of love” from a pack of violent illegal aliens, a 12-year-old girl was raped in Montgomery County, Maryland by two individuals likely eligible for Obama’s executive amnesty. One of them reportedly referred to the girl as “fresh meat” as he encouraged his friend to partake in the act of savagery.

The incident occurred on March 26, but the two perpetrators weren’t arrested until Friday, as reported by the Washington Post. The two suspects are Enrique Carbajal, 24, and Victor Tome, 19, who would likely be eligible for the Dream Act supported by both John Kasich and Donald Trump.

Montgomery County is a sanctuary jurisdiction in Maryland that does not cooperate with federal immigration officials.

How much longer are we going to remain silent and allow this to happen?

Tax Experts: Here's What Sanders' Plan Would Cost and Trump's Plan Would Save

Tax season is heavy on many Americans’ minds as the filing deadline fast approaches.

But who you vote for this year could make a big difference on how your taxes look in 2017.

Today, America’s Election Headquarters brought in two tax experts to weigh the proposals of each presidential candidate.

Currently, under President Obama’s administration, a family of four that is making $80,000 a year is paying about $327 a week in taxes, Leland Vittert noted.

Under a Hillary Clinton presidency, things would basically stay the same, he said.

With Bernie Sanders in the White House, however, this family would pay about $206 more in taxes per week.

Selective Boycotts Over Trans Bathroom Laws Show The Hypocrisy Of Progressive Activists

In light of Mississippi’s decision to pass a religious freedom bill, Bryan Adams cancelled an upcoming show at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. The performer follows in the footsteps of Bruce Springsteen and PayPal, which pulled out of North Carolina over the state’s recently passed bathroom ordinance.

Adams, known for hits such as “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” from hetero-normative classic “Robin Hood,” performed in Arkansas in September 2015. Arkansas passed its own religious freedom bill in April 2015. Granted, Arkansas’ bill has not played out as opponents predicted and restaurants continue to serve people regardless of sexual orientation, because that’s not what religious freedom bills are about. A Muslim prisoner in the state also benefited from a religious freedom bill, albeit the federal version signed by President Bill Clinton. Maybe Adams is taking a nuanced stand.

Actually, no, he isn’t. It seems Adams isn’t troubled enough about bigotry to skip countries where women and members of the LGBT community are jailed and abused...

This Veteran's Stunning Tribute to His Fallen Brothers

This is an incredible story of a man who really sets the standard for how we as Americans should honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Via Wide Open Country:

At the corner of Post Office St. and 21st St. in Galveston, Texas, an 83-year-old Marine vet named Guy Taylor emerges onto his balcony every night at sunset for one very special reason. When he was fighting the Korean War, one of his best friends, Cpl David Champagne was killed in action. Years later, when Taylor traveled across the country to Maine to visit his friend’s grave, he promised to play “Taps” every single day as a tribute to Champagne and all fallen heroes.

Ever since then, he plays the bugle call in the middle of downtown Galveston with the hopes of getting others to stop and remember those in our armed forces.

Fellow veteran and city Constable Clint Wayne Brown brings his cop car to the intersection outside his upstairs apartment and stops traffic while Taylor performs. He’s been doing it for the last four years, ever since he drove past Taylor and was astonished that other passersby simply ignored the tribute.

Trans Mafia Put North Carolina In A Chokehold

The ongoing LGBT activism that has overtaken a large part of the United States puts us at a strange crossroads in our country’s history: for perhaps the first time in American history, a "civil rights" effort is in fact more authoritarian and intolerant than the structure of power against which it is rebelling.

Aided by media that are both incompetent and often transparently biased, along with a burgeoning corporate culture that has discovered the economic benefits of public moral preening, we have what Stella Morabito aptly terms the “LGBT mafia:” a profoundly illiberal social movement rather single-mindedly determined to stamp out even minor and inconsequential dissent from its orthodoxy. It’s not going anywhere. In fact, it’s getting worse.

Many of us were appropriately horrified a couple of years ago when Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich was ousted from his position for, years before, having opposed gay marriage legalization in California. Two years later, the controversy surrounding Eich’s downfall now seems rather quaint in comparison—some histrionics, to be sure, and a silly display of activist vanity from OKCupid, but that was mostly it. The dismaying episode was nonetheless quickly over, and perhaps many of us thought we’d seen the worst of it.

How wrong could we possibly get?

Is the Government Trying to Silence Christian Cops?

The Indiana State Police said Thursday it had let go a trooper who had been sued twice in the past 18 months for allegedly preaching to citizens after stopping them for traffic violations.

Senior Trooper Brian Hamilton, 40, was a 14-year veteran of the agency, Fox 59 reported. His firing was announced two days after the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana filed suit on behalf of driver Wendy Pyle, who claimed her rights were violated after Hamilton pulled her over in January.

"While all of us — citizen and police officer — enjoy the right to freedom of religion and freedom of speech," State Police Superintendent Doug Carter said in a statement, "there are appropriate and proper restrictions placed on agents of the State related to their actions while engaged in their official duties."

Subject: Former Yellen Adviser Proposes Sweeping Reform of Fed System

A former aide to Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen has broken ranks with his former employer and issued a blueprint for a sweeping reform of the U.S. central bank, including regular government audits and shorter term limits for policy makers.

Dartmouth College professor Andrew Levin targeted four areas of change for the Federal Reserve system: make the Fed a fully public institution; ensure the process of picking regional Fed presidents is transparent; set seven-year term limits for regional presidents and Board governors; and make the entire Fed subject to external review.

The proposals were taken up by the union-backed activist group Fed Up, which promoted them Monday in a conference call with journalists, and come during an election year where the central bank has been a campaign topic.

“There is one key principle in this document which is the Fed needs to become a public institution,” Levin said. “Pragmatic, reasonable Fed reform should be able to be passed by the Congress, by both parties. That is my hope.”

Hillary Campaign Vows to Tell the Truth...About WHAT?!

After decades of evasion and heated debate, the Clinton campaign is finally promising to come clean and tell the truth.

But not about Benghazi, or emails, or illegal donations to the Clinton Foundation.

Hillary is going to honest about space aliens.

The Washington Examiner reports:

The chairman of Hillary Clinton's campaign says the American people can "handle the truth" when it comes to hearing about evidence of alien life, and hinted that answers may lie in Area 51.

Speaking about the notorious Area 51 Air Force base, long rumored to harbor secret government information about alien life, John Podesta said that Clinton, if elected president, would push for transparency.

"She'll ask for as many records as the United States federal government has to be declassified, and I think that's a commitment she intends to keep and that I intend to hold her to," Podesta told CNN's Jake Tapper. That echoed comments Clinton made in January, when she said she would look into the issue of UFOs, and that she would "get to the bottom of it."

Convicted Sex Offender Leads Transgender Rights Effort in North Carolina

The homosexual leader of efforts in North Carolina to allow men to use women’s bathrooms is a convicted and registered sex offender, according to documents made available to Breitbart News.

Chad Sevearance is president of the Charlotte Business Guild, which describes itself as “a network of LGBT professionals, business owners, employees and individuals in the Charlotte area who meet to nurture a network of business contacts; encourage fellowship and support among community business, professional and charitable pursuits; and provide and promote positive role models in the LGBT community.”

Sevearance and his group have taken a lead role in seeking the right to allow males to use the restrooms and showers of females, including those of little girls, which is described by advocates as nothing more than nondiscrimination measures. Sevearance was quoted in theCharlotte Observer saying that because a recent bathroom “nondiscrimination ordinance” bill did not pass, “someone can ask me to leave a restaurant because I’m presumed to be gay or transgender.”

How This State Cancelled Their Presidential Primary

Donald Trump fans are furious upon finding out that a year ago, Colorado changed the way its primary system was run. This week, in light of Trump campaign allegations, the Denver Post ran a column from August of last year predicting the impact such changes would have. It's prophetic:

For Republicans, no declared winner means the caucus will lack much of its hype. The presidential campaigns still may try to win delegate slots for their supporters, but experts say the move makes it less likely that candidates will visit Colorado to court voters.

The Colorado system often favors anti-establishment candidates who draw a dedicated following among activists — as evidenced by Rick Santorum's victory in 2012 caucus. So the party's movemay hurt GOP contenders such as Donald Trump, Ben Carson and Rand Paul, who would have received a boost if they won the state.

State Republican Party Chairman Steve House said the party's 24-member executive committee made the unanimous decision Friday — six members were absent — to skip the preference poll.

The move, he said, would give Colorado delegates the freedom to support any candidate eligible at the Cleveland convention in July. Republican National Committee officials confirmed that the change complies with party rules.

"If we do a binding presidential preference poll, we would then pledge our delegates ... and the candidates we bind them to may not be in the race by the time we get to the convention," House said in an interview Tuesday.

So how does the new system work? The Washington Post explains:

Obama Top Cybercop Gets Free Pass on Kiddie Porn

This is an outrageous miscarriage of justice, and a reminder that there's one system for the politically connected and one for the rest of us:

A cybersecurity taskforce chief turned child pornography collector seems poised to dodge prison – and live across the street from a Seattle elementary school.

Before agents arrived at his house across from Ballard’s West Woodland Elementary School, security consultant Brian Haller led the Seattle chapter of an FBI/private-sector group tasked with fighting computer crime and cyberterrorism. Haller had access to a secure FBI online platform and email system, though he is not alleged to have used either to collect child porn.

Haller was one of the smaller fish caught in an expansive FBI sting last year. Agents found the law enforcement insider used a “dark web” service – a Tor network site – to collect 600 files capturing the sexual abuse and exploitation of countless children.

Usually, Haller’s crimes could carry a five-year prison term. Instead, federal prosecutors have asked that Haller, 40, be spared even jail time when he is sentenced Friday for possession of child pornography.

Prosecutors are officially mute on a request from Haller’s attorney that he be allowed to return to his home across from West Woodland Elementary. A psychologist hired by Haller argues the children there will be safe so long as Haller covers his windows and isn’t outside during school hours.

Years ago, principled conservatives like Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Mike Lee, and Justin Amash warned about the broad delegation of powers to cyber snoops who might be perverts. Now, as Obama would say, the chickens are coming home to roost. Would Americans be willing to sacrifice their freedom for security if they knew perverts like Mr. Haller might be sifting throug their personal correspondence? Mr. Haller may have performed services critical to this nation's national security, but his free pass, presumably in recognition of that service, endangers his entire community. In many states, first time drug abusers are are given harsher sentences for ingesting substances that could ruin their own life. A dangerous man like Mr. Haller receives a slap on the wrist, and will now be free to indulge his perverse proclivities in dangerous proximity to children. Any child with an internet connection is presumably at risk. This is a grotesque miscarriage of justice. Please share this article and let the government know you won't stand for double standards like this.

‘SNL’ makes Al Sharpton look like the fool he is, right under his nose

Al Sharpton had a front row seat as he was mocked on Saturday Night Live.

Kenan Thompson did his typical impression of Sharpton bumbling words and talking loud about Voter I.D. Laws during the skit on Saturday.

“Is the real purpose to disen-french fries people,” Thompson asked, to start the segment.

“Despite Bernie Sanders win this week in Wisconsin it’s no secret that Hillary Clinton is raisinets, excuse me, resonating more with black voters,” he said as he introduced the real Sharpton as character “Charles Richards.”

Sharpton talked about his Black Approval Scale Rating and discussed how beloved the Democrats are in the black community while taking shots at the Republican candidates.

But the fake Sharpton (Thompson) kept bumbling his words throughout as he said things like “phantomnomenal.”

“What’s going on with you today, Al? You’re usually a very smart person,” the real Sharpton said to Thompson to end the skit.

Actually, not really.

Take a look at the skit below.

Trey Gowdy calls State Department ‘deplorable’ for what they just did

The State Department finally released documents on Friday that were requested by the Benghazi committee, but the more than one-year wait was deplorable to Rep. Trey Gowdy.

Gowdy, chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi, slammed the State Department for its delay in responding to subpoenas issued in March and August of 2015, following the initial request by the Republican congressman in November 2014.

“It is deplorable that it took over a year for these records to be produced to our committee, and that our Democrat colleagues never lifted a finger to help us get them,” Gowdy said in a press releaseFriday.

More than 1,100 pages of documents were turned over to the committee which was established to investigate the 2012 terror attack at the U.S. embassy in Libya. For months, Gowdy has been battling with Democrats on the committee which is led by ranking member Rep. Elijah Cummings.

Explaining The Small Business Failure Rate

Statistics about business success aren’t reassuring.

About 80 percent of new businesses fail in the first 18 months, according to Bloomberg Business research. During the economic meltdown of 2008, for the first time in decades more businesses closed than were started.

“What business owners don’t seem to understand is that what’s required, not only to survive but to thrive, is within their control,” says Pamela Herrmann, author of “The Customer Manifesto: How Business Has Failed Customers And What It Takes To Earn Lasting Loyalty.”

“The typical business owner has no idea how to create leverage, how to utilize new technologies, how to strategize to be competitive, or how to stop the hemorrhaging of cash in the form of failed online-marketing investments.”

Herrmann is co-founder with Patty Dominguez of CREATE Buzz (www.CreateBuzzNow.com), which is changing the way small businesses connect with customers – both online and offline. Dominguez and Herrmann review four business mistakes – and ways to correct them:

• Missing the biggest revenue opportunity. Much of traditional marketing focuses on attracting new customers. “But the biggest revenue opportunity is in keeping existing customers,” Dominguez says. Among the ways to keep customers loyal: Always greet them warmly. If they are waiting in line, thank them for their patience and assure them you’ll be with them promptly. Make certain your business is clean and comfortable. Use words such as “my pleasure,” “absolutely” and “you’re most welcome” instead of “sure,” “no problem” or “yeah.”
• Tracking the wrong metrics. Business owners often make marketing decisions based on short-term data, like how much money is in the bank or how many sales they made last month. This is reactive — not proactive.

Herrmann and Dominguez say the way to focus on the right metrics is to ask such questions as: How many new leads did you get this month? How much did it cost you to acquire that new lead or customer? What’s the average value of a single transaction?

• Failing to manage their message across all customer touch points. Most businesses are unaware of all the ways consumers use technology to find them. Businesses should create a Customer Journey Map so they can see all the touch points across all channels, measure how well they are doing and then identify gaps and opportunities.
• Being unaware of marketing fundamentals. Just like an archer tries to hit the bull’s-eye, an entrepreneur tries to reach customers. No matter how many arrows that may be in her quiver, if she doesn’t know how to aim, she’ll probably miss. The same is true with marketing.

“You need to know who you’re marketing to,” Dominguez says. “Why are you marketing to them? What are their wants and needs? When you do you this effectively, you shift from sinking money into fixing problems and into growing your business through strategic decision making.”

The Right Questions To Ask For Financial Advice You Can Trust

Many people looking for good investments or hoping to save for retirement are wary of the very financial professionals who can help them reach their goals.

That was illustrated once again recently by the 2016 Harris Poll Reputation Quotient Report, which showed that just 37 percent of people surveyed believe the financial-services industry has a solid reputation.

The good news is that’s an improvement from past surveys. The bad news is that the pharmaceutical industry, the tobacco industry and government are the only ones with worse reputations.

Skepticism about the profession may sting a little, but there’s nothing wrong with caution when shopping for a financial professional, says Lou Desepoli, president of Desepoli Wealth Management (www.desepoliwealth.com).

"It’s important for investors to do their homework," Desepoli says. "Don’t be timid about asking questions. A financial professional should answer any questions you have, and they should be able to provide details about fees, fiduciary standards and a client bill of rights."

Mike Desepoli, Lou’s son and a wealth adviser at Desepoli Wealth Management, says all financial professionals may work with the same market conditions, but that doesn’t mean they are all created equal.

"How they assess, evaluate and react to the market is what sets one adviser apart from another," he says.

The Desepolis say just a few of the topics an investor should broach when looking for an adviser include:

Fee transparency.Ask how they are paid for the investments they recommend. Are they paid commissions on investments or other products they sell? Do they receive payments from mutual funds or investment companies they recommend? "What you’re trying to determine is whether they push investments that are more beneficial to them than they are to you," Mike Desepoli says. "It’s best if the firm just charges a fee based on the value of the assets they manage for you. That makes it in their best interest for your portfolio to grow."

Regulatory controls.Find out what safeguards they have in place to protect against fraud. Have they ever been disciplined for unlawful or unethical actions? How do they ensure the firm remains in compliance with legal and regulatory statutes?

Experience and credentials. The products an adviser can sell and the investment advice they can give are tied to their credentials. So find out what licenses and certifications they have.

"Most people spend more time shopping for a car than they do a financial adviser," Lou Desepoli says. "But you want to be an informed consumer when it comes to who will handle your life savings. That person’s investment philosophy, their client-service philosophy and how they communicate with clients are all topics worth asking about."

Baby Boomers And Millennials May Share More Similarities On The Job Than They Realize

Baby Boomers and Millennials often are portrayed as two generations that don’t always see eye to eye in the workplace.

But they may share something in common that could help bridge the generation gap.

Both groups long to find a purpose in their careers beyond a paycheck, say Jackie Dryden and Bethany Andell, co-authors of “Get Your Head Out of Your Bottom Line: And Build Your Brand on Purpose” (www.savagethinking.com).

“Millennials are not only worried about how much money they earn, but also about how they earn it,” says Andell, president of Savage Brands, which works with companies to build purposeful brands.

“They gain satisfaction from their work when they feel they are contributing to something larger and more valuable than the company’s earnings.”

Baby Boomers, idealistic in their youth, somewhere along the way became part of the system they fought to change, she says.

Now, nearing retirement, many look back and wonder what kind of legacy they will leave.

“They’re reigniting their earlier desire to add meaning to life,” Andell says.

Dryden and Andell say that tapping into the two generations’ longing for meaningful work can create an improved outlook for businesses. Here are a few reasons why:

• Everything a company says and does contributes to building its brand. Because of this, the actions and attitudes of employees are central to the brand experience for the customers.
• Too many companies begin their pursuit of success by focusing on profit. Dryden and Andell say a better route to sustainable success is to flip traditional business thinking upside down and start with purpose. Purpose drives performance, they say, and performance drives profits.
• Customers feel better about buying from or working with brands they connect with in some way. When they connect with the purpose for why a company exists they begin to feel as if they are a part of something meaningful, just as the employees do. This deeper relationship adds value to every interaction customers have with the company, building loyalty for the brand.

“When you have two generations – one older, one younger, but both seeking greater meaning at work – there’s an incredible opportunity,” Dryden says. “But that opportunity can only be seized if a company’s purpose and values align and connect with employees on a level beyond the bottom line.”
