EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE MOVIEPASS DEAL

MoviePass offers unlimited movies at select theaters for only $10 a month! That’s it. Here’s everything you need to know about
the MoviePass deal.

I am a HUGE fan of going to the movies — from the electric atmosphere, to the smell of freshly popped popcorn, to the excitement buzzing around patrons as they discuss the latest film to be released on-screen. There’s truly nothing like it. Being such an avid movie fan, I like to stay in the know about the most recent news regarding films. And let me tell you, I was ecstatic to hear about the MoviePass deal. For only $10 a month, I could see an unlimited amount of films at the movie theater?! Heck yes! Where do I sign up?

But, like most things, there are pros and cons that should be considered. So, before you sign up, let me give you a rundown of the MoviePass deal, what benefits there are, and the disadvantages.

What is the MoviePass?

Created by Netflix co-founder and former Redbox president Mitch Lowe, MoviePass allows you to have the option to see up to one movie in the theaters every day. It first debuted in 2011 as a service that let film lovers see one theatrically released movie per day for $30 a month. Now, that’s still a fairly good deal, especially considering how expensive movie theater tickets are nowadays. It wasn’t until recently that the service announced its new business model and dropped the monthly fee from $30 to $10.

Federal Judge Orders IRS To Release Names Of Specific Employees That Targeted Tea Party Groups

Remember Lois Lerner? If not, she was basically the person that Obama put in charge of weaponizing the IRS so that it could be used by the Democratic party as a political weapon of mass destruction to suppress Tea Party groups back in 2012. Ring any bells yet?

Well, as a testament to the efficiency of our legal system, it turns out that the case is still ongoing some 5 years later. Of course, this has to be a simple bureaucracy issue because there is no way that the Obama administration, you know, the only scandal-free White House in modern history, played any role in delaying the completely transparent transmission of information about this shocking threat to our Democracy...just ask CNN...we're sure they'll confirm the same.

Be that as it may, after years of litigation over what conservatives have long called “chilling” behavior by one of the government’s “most feared” agencies, a federal judge has finally ordered the IRS to release the names of specific employees involved in targeting Tea Party groups in the lead up to the 2012 presidential election. Per Fox News:

MARYLAND RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL KICKS OFF ON AUGUST 26

On August 26, Crownsville will be transformed into a fictional village set in Oxfordshire, England for the annual Maryland Renaissance Festival.

Starting on August 26, the Maryland Renaissance Festival will run for nine weekends through October 22. The festival, now in its 41st year, is modeled after a 16th century English village called Revel Grove. Each year the 25-acre festival village is lined with pottery and jewelry gift shops, food vendors selling Renaissance themed foods, pubs, performers and stages.
This year’s theme recreates 16th century England under the rule of King Henry VIII, and the story of the love triangle between Henry VII, Anne Boleyn and his wife Queen Catherine of Aragon. More than 200 entertainers will be recreating life in the 16th century for the 300,000-plus visitors expected during the nine-week run.

Paul Ryan on Charlottesville: 'There Are No Sides '

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) posted to Facebook on Monday regarding what took place in Charlottesville, Virginia earlier this month when white nationalists clashed with Antifa protesters, resulting in the death of a woman who are deliberately hit by a car and two law enforcement officers who died when the helicopter they were riding in crashed.

A pull quote in the Ryan post seems to push back at what President Donald Trump said at apress conference at Trump Tower on Aub. 15 focused on infrastructure after reporters pressed him about the nature of the protesters in Charlottesville.

“Yes, I think there’s blame on both sides,” Trump said. “If you look at both sides — I think there’s blame on both sides.”

“And I have no doubt about it, and you don’t have any doubt about it either,” Trump said.

Why Elites Are Winning the War on Cash

Visa recently unveiled its own offensive in the war on cash. Visa is offering certain merchants a $10,000 reward if they refuse to accept cash in the future.

Not surprisingly, Visa’s competitor is also part of the war on cash. Mastercard is increasing its efforts to encourage merchants to refuse cash. Here’s Bloomberg, quoting the CEO of Mastercard:

“Mastercard Chief Executive Officer Ajay Banga has been one of the most ardent supporters of ditching paper currency in the U.S. The 57-year-old first declared his war on cash in 2010.”

These private efforts by Visa and MasterCard exist side by side with official efforts to eliminate or discourage the use of cash coming from governments in India, Australia, Sweden as well as the United States.

Done with your eclipse glasses? Donate them to kids in another part of the world

Unfortunately, eclipse glasses aren't quite as valuable as they were this time August 21st. There are really only two things to do with those solar-filter glasses now: Save them for the next eclipse, or donate them to a good cause.

As long as your glasses are of the latest safety standards (see below) and they are not scratched or punctured, you can hang on to them for the next eclipse. In North America, the shadow of a total solar eclipse will return April 8, 2024, sweeping across Mexico and up northeast through Texas, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, New York, Vermont, and Maine.

If you're the traveling type, consider that the world's next total solar eclipse will happen in South America, bathing parts of Chile and Argentina in shadow just before sunset on July 2, 2019. There are also a number of partial and annular solar eclipses across the world in the coming years that you can use your glasses for as well.

Al Gore's Climate Film Flops - Earth Temps Cooler Now Than When He Won Nobel Prize

Climate alarmist Al Gore's second film, ‘An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power’ failed to resonate with Americans.

The documentary dropped to 18th over the August 11-13 weekend grossing under $2.3 million since its August 04 release.

Media corporation Viacom pushed the film onto its 700 million subscribers with “An Inconvenient Week” starting July 31, with many of its networks promoting the film. Its support for Gore’s film included an MTV town hall event with the former politician. Two days before the week-long promotion began, Viacom’s blog posted “Four Reasons to Go See Al Gore’s Hopeful, Compelling” film in which it called Gore a “climate change folk hero.”

Earlier this week, President Trump signed an executive order that would streamline the approval process for American infrastructure projects by eliminating the climate change bureaucracy enacted by the Obama administration.

Back in 2012, President Trump spoke his mind about global warming:

Uber driver rapes Manhattan woman after she falls asleep in car

An East Village woman suffered a terrifying ordeal Thursday when she passed out in an Uber car and the driver took her to his apartment and raped her, police sources said.

The 31-year-old victim called for an Uber at E. 52nd St. and 2nd Ave. about 2 a.m. She told the 47-year-old driver to take her home and then fell asleep in the car, sources said.

The twisted cabbie took her to his Flushing apartment and raped her while she was still unconscious, sources said. She woke up, realized with shock that she wasn’t home and confronted the driver.

“I used protection — please don't call police,” he said according to police sources.

Mizzou Pays a Price for Appeasing the Left

Timothy Vaughn dutifully cheered the University of Missouri for a decade, sitting in the stands with his swag, two hot dogs and a Diet Coke. He estimates he attended between 60 and 85 athletic events every year—football and basketball games and even tennis matches and gymnastics meets. But after the infamous protests of fall 2015, Missouri lost this die-hard fan.

“I pledge from this day forward NOT TO contribute to the [Tiger Scholarship Fund], buy any tickets to any University of Missouri athletic event, to attend any athletic event (even if free), to give away all my MU clothes (nearly my entire wardrobe) after I have removed any logos associated with the University of Missouri, and any cards/helmets/ice buckets/flags with the University of Missouri logo on it,” Mr. Vaughn told administrators in an email four semesters ago.

He was not alone. Thousands of pages of emails I obtained through the Missouri Freedom of Information Act show that many alumni and other supporters were disgusted with administrators’ feeble response to the disruptions. Like Mr. Vaughn, many promised they’d stop attending athletic events. Others vowed they’d never send their children or grandchildren to the university. It now appears many of them have made good on those promises.

5 Reasons Franklin D. Roosevelt was the WORST

Can you believe that there are at least three statues of Franklin D. Roosevelt in Washington DC? There is one in South Dakota too, another in Virginia, and even more in London.

It appears all these places are overrun by racists and fascist sympathizers. How can people put up with revering a man who:
1. Literally Rounded Up 120,000 Japanese Americans, and Put them in Concentration Camps!

That was authorized by executive order 9066, which Roosevelt signed February 19, 1942.

How is this fact so often left out of any discussion about how “great” FDR was? These people were American citizens, and they were arrested for no reason other than their heritage.

He imprisoned an entire race. How is he not widely accepted as the biggest American racist of the last century? He was certainly the most effective racist.

Two reports which Roosevelt commissioned in the years prior found that Japanese Americans posed little to no risk to the government. Since FDR ignored the reports’ recommendations, it seems his violation of the rights of Japanese Americans was motivated by racism.
2. He Actually Outlawed Gold!

FDR had absolutely no respect for the people’s rights. He had no respect for the rule of law. He was a tyrant!

Missouri Gov Calls On Senate To Expel Sen Who Said She Wants Trump Assassinated

Chappelle-Nadal has already said she has no intention of resigning and has refused to apologize for a Facebook post in which she wrote: “I hope Trump is assassinated!”

“Senator Chappelle-Nadal said she hopes the President is killed. Republicans and Democrats have called on her to resign,” Greitens wrote. “Her response: ‘Hell no.’ Last night, in an interview, she refused to apologize–twice. If she will not resign, the Senate can vote to remove her. I believe they should.”

Baltimore police video reportedly shows a re-enacted evidence seizure

WASHINGTON — Two Baltimore police body-worn camera videos released in the last two months have led to investigations into possible evidence planting, and Monday brought word of a third disturbing video.

The Baltimore City state’s attorney’s office said it was notified earlier this month that an officer “self-reported” a video recorded in June.

As a result of the police video, the office said, 43 court cases have been or will be dropped.

The police video captures “questionable activity” by an officer, according to the prosecutor’s office. The officer said the video showed a re-enactment of evidence being seized.

The police department’s internal affairs division will investigate.

Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe: 'We Will Not Prosecute Killers of White Farmers'

Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe has said that people who murdered white farmers during a government-sanctioned purge in the 2000s will never be prosecuted.

The 93-year-old president addressed a rally in Harare on Monday to mark Heroes’ Day, which commemorates soldiers who have fought for the country, particularly in its independence war against British colonizers.

Zimbabwe implemented a controversial land reform program in 2000 that saw squatters invade and seize hundreds of white-owned farms around the country. The violent seizures resulted in the murder of several white farmers, with many more displaced, and close associates of Mugabe given large chunks of land.

“Yes, we have those who were killed when they resisted. We will never prosecute those who killed them. I ask, why should we arrest them?” Mugabe said, according to Zimbabwean news site NewsDay.

AN OPPORTUNITY LOST WITH TANEY STATUE

By David A. Plymyer

The hasty decision by Maryland’s State House Trust to remove the statue of Roger B. Taney from the grounds of the State House in Annapolis was an opportunity lost. The three members of the trust’s board who voted by email in favor of removing the statue missed the chance for something becoming exceedingly rare in politics at all levels of government: An informed and civil discourse that enlightens rather than polarizes, and that promotes the sense that a decision is based on something other than raw emotion or politics.

Taney’s personal life and career as a jurist presented the perfect opportunity for a discussion on the standards by which we judge historical figures. The consensus historical view of the Calvert County native was that he was a decent and distinguished man who, if he was guilty of anything, was guilty as the chief justice of the United States of an egregious failure to rise above the prevailing legal view on the rights of African-Americans under the United States Constitution when he authored the majority decision in Dred Scott v. Sandford.

Behind much of the contemporary criticism of Taney by white Americans is a profound conceit: The notion that, if born 240 years ago in a slave-holding state, we somehow would have been nobler and more heroic than Taney when it came time to decide Dred Scott.

Former Obama Official Says Taking Down Confederate Monuments Is 'A Matter of Homeland Security'

On Sunday, Jeh Johnson, former secretary of Homeland Security under President Obama, said that removing Confederate monuments is a matter of homeland security.

"That's not a matter of political correctness, that's a matter of public safety and homeland security, and doing what's right," Johnson told ABC News in an interview.

"What alarms so many of us, from a security perspective, is that so many of the statues — the Confederate monuments — are now, modern day, becoming symbols and rallying points for white nationalism, for neo-Nazis, for the KKK," the former DHS secretary explained.

"We fought a World War against Nazism. The KKK rained terror on African-Americans for generations," Johnson said. "I support those in cities and states who are taking down a lot of these monuments for reasons of public safety and security."

Florida Man Defends Himself After Car Break-In With AK

A Florida woman in Panama City Beach heard the sounds of three men breaking into his vehicle early Sunday morning. She woke her husband to tell him, the moment so many gun owners secretly dread. He then reportedly got up, had her secure their children, and went out to confront the three men who were breaking into their car outside.

However, this Florida man wasn’t the dolt that has become synonymous with the phrase “Florida man” in recent years. He knew there was a 9mm pistol in the car, and he went out to confront the burglars armed with AK-47.

The incident unfolded around 2:45 a.m. when the homeowner’s wife was awakened by noises outside of their home. The woman then woke her husband, who looked outside and observed three suspects breaking into the family’s vehicles.

The man, who knew a 9mm handgun was in one of the vehicles, told his wife to watch over their children and ensure their safety as he grabbed an AK-47 and confronted the suspects.

Paul Craig Roberts Reminds America - "A House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand"

The liberal/progressive/left are enjoying their drunkfest of denunciation. I can’t say I have ever witnessed anything like it. These are the people who sat on their hands for 16 years while Washington destroyed in whole or part seven countries. Not being satisfied with this level of warmongering and crimes against humanity, Washington orchestrated a conflict situation with Russia. Americans elected a president who said he would defuse this dangerous conflict, and the liberal/progressive/left turned on him. In contrast, one person is killed after the hated Charlottesville protest event was over, and there is endless absurd outrage against the president of the US.

Three New York Times presstitutes yesterday blamed the crisis on Trump, declaring him “increasingly isolated in a racial crisis of his own making.” Apparently, Trump is responsible for the crisis because he blamed both protest groups for the violence.

But isn’t that what happened? Wasn’t there violence on both sides? That was the impression I got from the news reporting. I’m not surprised that Trump got the same impression. Indeed, many readers have sent emails that they received the same impression of mutual violence.

So Trump is being damned for stating the truth.

Report Touts Wind Farm’s Positive Tourism Impact; OC’s Visibility Concerns From Shore Restated

OCEAN PINES – Wind farms off the Ocean City coast would benefit the economy and are not expected to have an impact on tourism, according to a report released last week.

On Friday, Anirban Basu of Sage Policy Group released a report on the observed impact of wind farms. Basu’s research reveals “little evidence” of negative impact on property values associated with wind turbines and “little to no impact” on tourism.

“People expect the worst and the worst has not happened,” he said.

According to Basu, who shared his findings at a press conference hosted by Lower Shore Wind Consortium, his group looked at the possibility of 77 turbines being built between 12 and 21 miles off the Ocean City coast. They investigated how that would impact property values and visitation.

Navy’s Report on Fitzgerald Collision Is Evidence Of Corruption

Two months after the USS Fitzgerald’s June 18 collision with a freighter in the Sea Of Japan, the Navy announced that the ship’s commanding officer, executive officer, and senior enlisted man were being relieved of their positions. It cited “loss of confidence” in them, and released a lengthy report on what happened aboard the ship after the collision. That report, however, contains no hint of accusation of improper or insufficient behavior on anyone’s part. It is silent about what actions on the part of the Fitz led to the collision in the first place, citing “continuing investigation.”

But the indisputable facts about the ship’s courses, speeds, and decisions prior to the collision were in the Navy’s hands the moment that it returned to Yokusuka, if not before. In sum the Navy, by punishing officers whose responsibility was merely formal and by avoiding discussion of who made what actual decisions, suggests to the attentive reader by what it says and by what it withholds, that it is hiding its own corporate responsibility.

Ron Paul Warns "50% Stock Market Plunge Conceivable... And It Won't Be Trump's Fault"

The former Republican Congressman from Texas believes escalating dysfunction in Washington will create even more pain for Wall Street.

Speaking on CNBC's Futures Now, Ron Paul warned:

"A 50 percent pullback is conceivable...I don't believe it's ten years off. I don't even believe it's a year off. "

Paul noted that there's a lot of chaos in Washington right now, with an "unpredictable president" and those who are inclined to "tear him apart" but if the market takes that big of a tumble, he doesn't see it as Trump's fault.

"It's all man-made. It's not the fault of Donald Trump in the last week.

If the market crashes tomorrow and we have a great depression, he didn't do it in six months.

It took more like six or ten years to cause all these problems that we're facing."

Paul previously argued Wall Street is overestimating the strength of the economy, and the Federal Reserve kept interest rates too low for too long.

Steve Bannon Plots Fox News Competitor As He "Goes To War" With Globalists, Report

Immediately upon announcing his exit from the White House last Friday, Steve Bannon hosted a number of interviews in which he made very clear that he was "going to war" with everyone from Congress to the mainstream media and even the globalists working in Trump's White House. Now, we learn via Axios that part of that war effort might include a brand new cable news network to the right of Fox News.

Axios' Jonathan Swan hears Bannon has told friends he sees a massive opening to the right of Fox News, raising the possibility that he's going to start a network.

Bannon's friends are speculating about whether it will be a standalone TV network, or online streaming only.

Before his death in May, Roger Ailes had sent word to Bannon that he wanted to start a channel together. Bannon loved the idea: He believes Fox is heading in a squishy, globalist direction as the Murdoch sons assume more power.

Now he has the means, motive and opportunity: His chief financial backer, Long Island hedge fund billionaire Bob Mercer, is ready to invest big in what's coming next, including a huge overseas expansion of Breitbart News.

N. Korea Warns US Of ‘Merciless Strike’ And ‘Uncontrollable Nuclear War’ Over Military Drills

North Korea has yet again made violent threats agaisnt the U.S., this time in relation to the upcoming US-South Korea military exercises, in which they call “reckless behavior driving the situation into the uncontrollable phase of a nuclear war.”

The fat runt and his generals also declared that its army has the capability of going after United States anytime, and not to expect Guam, Hawaii nor the US mainland to be able to “dodge the merciless strike.”

The threats were printed in the Rodong Sinmun, the official government newspaper, and was published and sent out a day before the Ulchi Freedom Guardian military exercises taking place with South Korea.

Threats between the US and North Korea have increased in the past weeks. With Pyongyang claiming just last week it had settled a plan to fire four missiles toward the US territory of Guam. The state controlled media had announced that Kim Jong Un would evaluate the US’ next move before giving launch orders.

10,000 Students Just Got Schooled On What “Freedom Of Speech” Is, And It’s Beautiful

It’s no surprise that students today are more sensitive than generations before them. Years of being told that they are the best and brightest children to ever walk the face of the earth has inflated their sense of importance, while living in education bubbles where “triggers” and “feelings” reign supreme has made them scared to confront opposing points of view. And one motivational speaker is calling them out.

Throughout all of history, children have been taught that words don’t hurt, Gibbs told the students. “Words only have the power that you give them,” he said.

“You see, when you believe that you have a human right that everyone must be nice to you, you’re setting yourself up for failure,” Gibbs continued. “You’re creating in yourself a victimization mentality. Because when people are mean to you, you say, ‘you have no right!’. No, they do have a right. It may be immorally wrong, but it is their constitutional right. In fact, the right we have in this nation is the right to free speech. Even if it is mean. Even if it is hateful.”

Petition urging terror label for Antifa gets enough signatures for White House response

A petition put up just days ago urging the Trump administration to label the left-wing Antifa a “terror group” has attracted well over the 100,000 signatures needed to merit a formal White House response.

The left-wing group has been the subject of intense scrutiny in recent days after President Trump controversially blamed “both sides” for the violence in Charlottesville, where a counter-protester at a white supremacist rally was killed in a car attack.

Trump’s criticism of violence on the “alt-left” was seen as a swipe at groups like Antifa, whose “anti-facist” members have been known to clash with groups ranging from Trump supporters to white supremacists and neo-Nazis. Trump was hammered for seeming to equate Charlottesville counter-protesters with neo-Nazis – but in the days since, Antifa’s tactics at other rallies have been the subject of numerous media reports.

The White House petition, posted by someone going only by the initials, “M.A.,” called for Antifa to be “formally” recognized as a terror group.

It states: “Terrorism is defined as ‘the use of violence and intimidation in pursuit of political aims’. This definition is the same definition used to declare ISIS and other groups, as terrorist organizations. AntiFa has earned this title due to its violent actions in multiple cities and their influence in the killings of multiple police officers throughout the United States. It is time for the pentagon to be consistent in its actions – and just as they rightfully declared ISIS a terror group, they must declare AntiFa a terror group – on the grounds of principle, integrity, morality, and safety.”

BUSTED! Anti-Trump Attorney General Caught Banking Campaign Cash From Putin Tied Oil Tycoon

Isn’t this interesting… one of the rabid Democratic attorney generals who attacked President Trump for his non-existent ties to Russia, has himself been caught taking donations from an energy tycoon out of the Ukraine that has ties to Vladimir Putin. This hasn’t been in the news at all. New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has accepted more than $60,000 in donations from Leonard Blavatnik, who is a Ukrainian energy billionaire. Now, why do you think someone like that would be greasing the palm of a New York AG? It can’t be for anything good.

People like this don’t give money to certain politicians for no reason. We don’t buy this guy’s energy, so I’d really like to know why he’s giving heavy change to Schneiderman. He has raised $1.7 million in contributions during the first half of this year alone. Blavatnik has been involved in Russia’s oil industry for several years. One of his primary financial ventures, AAR, sold a 50 percent stake in energy company TNK, one of Russia’s largest oil companies, where Blavatnik served on the board of directors. The ties that bind this guy to Putin look pretty darn deep to me.

The sun is racist! Two major liberal papers agree the Solar Eclipse of 2017 cuts out black people

The dominating event of Monday was the total solar eclipse that cut a path across the United States. Millions of people flocked to the “path of totality” to watch the moon completely cover the sun for two whole minutes.

It was a nice diversion from the divisive identity politics of the time, right up until some idiotic “news” sites managed to somehow inject race into an astrological event.

If you think I’m kidding, I regret to inform you that I don’t think I could make this up even if I wanted to.

Brooklyn Law professor (holy crap someone thinks she’s smart enough to teach?) Alice Ristroph is complaining about the eclipse. She wrote a 4,500-word rant to The Atlantic in which she literally accuses the entire solar system of racism. This is some next-level stuff, guys.

“It has been dubbed the Great American Eclipse, and along most of its path, there live almost no black people. Presumably, this is not explained by the implicit bias of the solar system. Still, an eclipse chaser is always tempted to believe that the skies are relaying a message.”

Hold on, what? Did you actually… “the skies are relaying a message”? What does that even mean, you nutball?

In Their Own Words: "Make this country ungovernable"

In the days since violent clashes at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville culminated in a neo-Nazi sympathizer driving his car into a crowd of counter-protesters, journalists have mainstreamed the self-described “anti-fascists” (or “antifa”) at the rally — largely ignoring their involvement in the escalating political violence in this country.

Many establishment political figures insisted the far-left actors were just like American soldiers on D-Day. But these “anti-fascists'” own statements show they’re nothing like American soldiers on D-Day.

They aren’t interested in protecting America’s system of government, according to their own statements — they’re interested in destroying it.

From the very start of the Trump administration, far-left actors declared their intention to use massive demonstrations to disrupt the American political process as much as possible.

A common mantra among far-left groups beginning shortly before the inauguration: make America “ungovernable.”

“We need to make this country ungovernable,” declared a female leader for Refuse Fascism shortly after the inauguration. “We need to do what the German people should have done when Hitler was elected.”

How to go From a Broken Taillight to 18 Months in Prison

It is amazing the amount of “crimes” one broken taillight precipitated.

A recent court case in Massachusetts highlights the insanity of statute law, versus common law. That is, relying on laws made by politicians, rather than assessing a claim brought by a victim.

Time, money, and freedom are all poured down the drain in favor of arbitrary statutes.

It started with a guy being pulled over for having a taillight out.

He was arrested for not having a license to drive a car. Already, this is a violation of rights. Why should you be forced to pay for a license in order to travel down public roads?

Licensure does little in the way of public safety. It is a vehicle to collect more money and keep track of citizens.

So society says it is better to kidnap a man and throw him in a cage than to allow people the freedom to travel unmolested. He victimized no one but was victimized by the state.

Next, cops saw a gun muzzle poking out of the pocket in the back seat. Apparently, seeing a bit of a gun is probable cause to search. Are guns illegal? No. Ah but again, those pesky licenses! The government requires licenses to exercise rights. You have to pay in order to be free.

Awan Plot Thickens As NY Democrat Yvette Clarke "Quietly" Wrote-Off $120,000 Of Missing Tech Equipment

When we reported last week that Imran Awan and his wife had been indicted by a grand jury on 4 counts, including bank fraud and making false statements related to some home equity loans, we also noted that those charges could simply be placeholders for further developments yet to come. Now, according to a new report from the Daily Caller, the more interesting component of the FBI's investigation could be tied to precisely why New York Democrat Representative Yvette Clarke quietly agreed in early 2016 to simply write-off $120,000 in missing electronics tied to the Awans.

A chief of staff for Democratic Rep. Yvette Clarke quietly agreed in early 2016 to sign away a $120,000 missing electronics problem on behalf of two former IT aides now suspected of stealing equipment from Congress, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

Clarke’s chief of staff at the time effectively dismissed the loss and prevented it from coming up in future audits by signing a form removing the missing equipment from a House-wide tracking system after one of the Awan brothers alerted the office the equipment was gone. The Pakistani-born brothers are now at the center of an FBI investigation over their IT work with dozens of Congressional offices.

The $120,000 figure amounts to about a tenth of the office’s annual budget, or enough to hire four legislative assistants to handle the concerns of constituents in her New York district. Yet when one of the brothers alerted the office to the massive loss, the chief of staff signed a form that quietly reconciled the missing equipment in the office budget, the official told TheDCNF. Abid Awan remained employed by the office for months after the loss of the equipment was flagged.

Monument To Christopher Columbus Vandalized

A Baltimore monument to Christopher Columbus has been vandalized, Baltimore Brew reports.

The 225-year-old monument is believed to be the oldest monument to the explorer still standing. Though it's unclear when the vandalism took place, a video was posted Monday depicting the act.

"Christopher Columbus symbolizes the initial invasion of European capitalism into the western hemisphere," the narrator, possibly the vandal himself, says in the video. "Columbus initiated a centuries-old wave of terrorism, murder, genocide, rape, slavery, ecological degradation and capital exploitation of labor in the Americas."
The vandal is seen taking a sledgehammer to the memorial's inscription, which read "Sacred to the Memory of Chris. Columbus Oct. XII MDCC VIIIC." Others at the scene taped signs to the monument that read things like "The future is racial and economic justice."

63 Shot, 8 Dead In Chicago's 2nd Most Violent Weekend Of 2017

More people were shot in Chicago over this past weekend than any other this year, except for the Fourth of July weekend that spanned four days. According to the Chicago Tribune and police data, a total of 63 people were shot and 8 were killed as violence erupted all over the city.

At least 63 people were shot in the city, and eight of them were killed, police said. More than half of them were wounded over 13 hours from Saturday to early Sunday. At least 16 more people were shot through the day Sunday, including three on the same street in South Austin.

The level of violence exceeded the 52 shot on the three-day Memorial Day but fell short of the 102 hit by gunfire over the long Fourth of July weekend, according to Tribune data. Still, fewer people have been shot in Chicago this year than at this time last year: 2,435 compared to 2,710.

The wounded included a 14-year-old boy grazed in the chest and left knee while he walking with his sister and a friend just before 9:30 p.m. Friday in Pilsen.

An officer-involved shooting Saturday night left 33-year-old man with graze wounds to the head. Police said he confronted police with a gun and an officer fired.

Executive Kittleman orders removal of Confederate memorial outside of Circuit Courthouse

ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Executive Allan H. Kittleman today announced that the Confederate memorial located outside the Howard County Circuit Courthouse in Ellicott City has been removed and will be donated to a local museum.

Kittleman ordered the removal of the memorial late Monday after completing the historic review process. Kittleman filed a request with the Historic Preservation Commission to take this step on Aug. 16 but the process required a five-day public notice period before a decision could be rendered. Immediately after receiving approval, Kittleman took steps to remove the memorial.

“It has become increasingly clear in recent weeks that memorials such as this are hurtful to many residents in our community and elsewhere,” said Kittleman. “Given these feelings and the tragedy in Charlottesville, I felt compelled to remove this memorial from public property.”

Kittleman said he believes the more appropriate place for the memorial is in a local museum, along with other artifacts and information on the Civil War. Preservation Howard County, an organization dedicated to saving Howard County’s rich history, supports moving the memorial to a museum. County Council Chair Jon Weinstein encouraged the Howard County Historical Society to add the memorial to its Civil War collection.

“We cannot and should not erase the past. We must learn from it,” said Kittleman. “A museum offers context for us and for future generations to better understand our shared history.”

Weinstein said removing the memorial will affirm the county’s commitment to ensuring public spaces are open and comfortable to all citizens and visitors. The events last week in Charlottesville, renewed the urgency in removing the memorial, he said.

“We can’t forget that this symbol and symbols like this represent hate and cause many people pain,” said Weinstein. “The monument is not representative of who we are as a community today and does not belong on grounds of a building that represents justice.”

According to Maryland Historical Trust records, the memorial was dedicated on September 23, 1948, at a time when Howard County had a commissioner form of government. Howard County Circuit Court Judge William Henry Forsythe Jr., whose father’s name is on the memorial, appears to have been responsible for accepting and placing the memorial on the grounds of the court house. No county officials played a role in the dedication.

The rise of the 'antifa'

Hailed as Nazi-fighting heroes by some, or violent hooligans no better than the supremacists they oppose by others, whatever you think of antifa, the movement is rapidly on the rise.

Antifa, short for anti-fascist or Anti Fascist Action, has been around since the 1920s where it emerged as a response to the growing Nazism spreading across Europe.

Since then, they have existed mainly on the fringes, but have gathered in force over the years to oppose racist, violent fascist groups, from clashes with Nazis on the streets of Germany, Italy, and Spain in the 1930s, to taking on the skinheads of the 1980s.

Now as America's extremist right wing groups become emboldened and more vocal under President Trump, the anti-fascist movement have had a huge boost in popularity as people join the ranks of the left wing group to oppose the alt-right.

Beware The "The Cultural Civil War" Narrative: You're Being Played

There is always common ground for those who dare to seek it.

Remember the "Russians hacked our election!" hysteria - or have you already forgotten? That entire narrative collapsed under a deluge of factual evidence that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) data release was an insider job, and a compelling lack of evidence of any other Russian hacking.

That failed narrative has now been replaced with a new mass hysteria: "a new cultural Civil War is inevitable." In this narrative, America has succumbed to us-versus-them divisions divided by all-or-nothing ideological bright lines.

Snap out of it, America: you're being played, just as you were played by the absurd "Russia hacked the election" mania.

The core strategy here is the destruction of any common ground: once the delusion that there is no common ground left has been cemented by relentless mainstream and social media hysteria/ propaganda, the populace fragments into echo-chamber fiefdoms of ideological conformity that are easily manipulated by the political-financial power structure.

Once the populace has been fragmented into ideologically divisive camps, controlling the resulting mass of warring mobs is easy. Rather than recognize the commonality of their powerlessness and impoverishment, the fragmented fiefdoms are easily turned on each other:

From the point of view of each fragmented fiefdom, , the problem isn't structural, i.e. the dominance of extreme concentrations of wealth and power; the "problem" is the other cultural-ideological fiefdoms.

Feds Charge DWS' Former IT Aides

A federal grand jury Thursday indicted two former information technology (IT) aides of Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz — Pakistani-born Imran Awan and his wife Hina Alvi — on four counts of conspiracy in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

The FBI arrested Awan at Dulles International Airport July 24 as he was preparing to board a flight to Pakistan. When his wife Alvi left the U.S. for Pakistan in March, federal authorities found more than $12,000 in cash hidden in a suitcase. She had withdrawn the couple’s three children from local schools and does not intend to return to the U.S., according to the FBI.

“Defendants AWAN and ALVI did unlawfully, willfully, and knowingly conspire, combine, confederate, and agree with each other to commit offenses against the United States,” including bank fraud, false statements, and unlawful monetary transactions, the indictment said.

Wikileaks Just Exposed Robert Mueller’s True Identity – It’s Worse Than We Imagined

The Left’s recent decision to turn on Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange, reveals that they are puppets blindly following the mainstream media without any underlying values or principles.

Julian Assange has generated the ire of the Washington establishment since he first became politically active in 2006. According to the Daily Mail, former FBI Director and current special counsel, Robert Mueller, has been attempting to frame Julian Assange since at least 2011. Now, he’s attempting to frame President Trump in an effort to maintain establishment control in Washington D.C.

In 2011, Icelandic member of parliament and then-minister Ögmundur Jonasson demanded that nine FBI agents, under the direction of Robert Mueller, leave Iceland. This was after Jonasson uncovered their intentions to frame Julian Assange of Wikileaks.

Robert Mueller was attempting to retaliate against Julian Assange after Wikileaks published almost 100,000 documents relating to the Afghan and Iraq wars. The documents reveal that American forces turned a blind eye to Iraqi torture, and that American intelligence agencies have targeted Wikileaks as a threat to American interests.

The FBI reached out to Jonasson promising to help the small country defend against what they described as an “imminent attack” on Iceland’s government databases.

Jonasson said he was immediately suspicious of the FBI’s involvement, but did not understand their true intentions until a “planeload” of agents came to meet him.

Jonasson explains that the FBI agents were seeking his “cooperation in what I understood as an operation set up to frame Julian Assange and WikiLeaks.”

Man Stabbed By Antifa Mob Outside His Home For Not Condemning ‘Nazis’ Hard Enough

Labeled a “Nazi sympathizer.”

A Vermont man says he was stabbed outside his home by a group of five masked men armed with box cutters on Tuesday, after being labeled a “Nazi sympathizer” for denouncing attempts to ruin the life of a Unite the Right rally attendee — even though he himself strongly disavows white supremacy.

The victim, Sam Wormer, who identifies as neither right or left, is so concerned about the divide in the country that even after being attacked he wasn’t sure that his story should be told. Leftist friends of his confirmed to Big League Politics that he frequently sticks up for “marginalized members of the community.”

Is A Tolerant Culture Being Replaced By An Intolerant One?

One need not go back centuries to the Muslim conquest of the Christian late classical world -- the medieval Barbary corsair raids, the Ottoman yoke in Central and Eastern Europe or the slave markets of Kaffa in Tatar Muslim Crimea -- to understand that this violence clearly predates the European colonial era, the creation of the modern state of Israel, or the issue of climate change.

Countries such as China, Nigeria or Kenya that are not Western, not "imperialist", not whatever the excuses that Islamists make, are still spectacularly attacked by similar stabbings. Month on month, there seems almost nowhere that Islamic terror did not strike.

Volumes of revered Islamic texts establish in great detail the grounds of violence and oppression of non-believers and those deemed heretical. These supposed grounds -- made alive daily in madrassas and mosques across the world before being acted upon by religiously-trained terrorists -- are childishly dismissed by Western liberals as immaterial.

The first step towards a solution is to question the received knowledge tirelessly dished out by media pundits in the West. What is lacking is simply seeing a huge body of evidence of theological justification for Islamist terror.

How thin can excuses wear every time an atrocity is committed in the name of Islam?

When 13 people were killed and scores more injured this week in a vehicle-ramming attack in Barcelona, Spain, and stabbing men shouting "This is for Allah!" on London Bridge and in Borough Market in June, what the victims least cared about was the Western elite pontificating that the latest atrocity "had nothing to do with Islam".

British Prime Minister Theresa May said, "It is time to say enough is enough" and promised a review of her country's counter-terrorism strategy.

Which States Have The Most Mortgage Fraud

In a recent blog post by CoreLogic, the real estate consultancy has determined the regions of the U.S. that have the highest correlation with the National Mortgage Fraud Risk index. The regions that are most highly correlated with fraud risk are areas that will be the best predictors of nationwide mortgage fraud. In fact, one can look at a few highly correlated regions to predict fraud risk on a national scale.

The heatmap (figure 3) shows the correlation of each region to the National Trend. Mousing over a region shows the region name, the tracking score, and the percentage level of the lowest to highest possible tracking score (-1.0 to 1.0). The heatmap has two layers (that can be toggled in the top-right menu of the map), one for state and one for CBSA. The CBSAs are limited to the top 50 CBSAs based on population.

CNN/Daily Beast’s Matt Lewis States That Trump Voters Are “Asses,” Bunch of Idiots

America, your mainstream media thinks you are a bunch of idiots. In a recent column for The Daily Beast, CNN “journalist” Matt Lewis gave his suggestions for how Republicans and Conservatives should approach the 2020 Presidential election. Unsurprisingly, his ideas are designed to get rid of Trump and install a candidate that is against Trump.

The opinion piece is entitled “Dear Trump Voters: You’re a Bunch of Idiots.” So, right away, that title just makes people want to read it, right? Who doesn’t want to be called an idiot by a narcissistic CNN reporter? In this piece of journalistic brilliance, he said, “All good-thinking conservatives should now commit to supporting a viable and serious primary challenge to Donald Trump in the GOP primary. This should not be a perfunctory exercise, but rather, a full-throated attempt to replace him as the nominee. Further, where you stand on this should be considered a defining moment. Personally, I would nominate Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska as the kind of person conservatives should back.”

In fact he went on to elaborate, saying, “The masses, it turns out, sometimes are asses. Sometimes the people who actually pay close attention to politics know more than the disgruntled populists and nationalists who are willing to gamble on the future of this great republic—and on the reputation of a conservative philosophy that goes from Aristotle to Burke to Buckley—in order to boost a reality show host. You elected your guy, and look where it got us.”

USS Indianapolis WWII Survivors Gather For Maybe The Last Time

The reunion of survivors of the USS Indianapolis could be the final large-scale gathering for the group. Many of those who survived the ship's sinking during WWII in 1945 are now in their 80s and 90s and too old to make such a commitment, a group member told The Associated Press.

Eighty-six-year-old Harold Bray of Benicia, Calif., was among the 317 members of the ship's nearly 1,200-person crew who survived the July 1945 sinking by a Japanese submarine and four days in shark-infested Pacific Ocean waters.

Did Marco Rubio Just Say It's OK To Beat People For Their Thoughts?

In a truly “free” society, no one gets beaten up for their political views. Laws cannot be passed against thoughts or symbols. And mob violence is not allowed to rule the day. But Florida Senator Marco Rubio, like most establishment political hacks, is not interested in a free society. He’s interested in seizing power in any way possible. And if that means excusing and encouraging mob violence, to achieve his political ends, then so be it. While Rubio may rail against dictators, his statements sound eerily like the late Fidel Castro, and other tyrants like him.

Rubio’s statement came in the form of a series of tweets he posted in response to the Charlottesville circus. Here are his exact words:

“When entire movement built on anger & hatred towards people different than you, it justifies & ultimately leads to violence against them.”

While the trained seals who follow hucksters like Rubio will bark their approval for his “brave words”; those who love liberty will shudder at the true ramifications of what he is saying. But let’s begin by trying to parse who exactly he is saying it about.

Like a good political opportunist, he speaks in vague terms. One might surmise that his reference to an “entire movement” is a shot at Donald Trump and his supporters. Myriads of establishment politicians have accused Trump of “anger & hatred”; yet examples of this are never forthcoming, other than disagreements over something like immigration policy. So, is Rubio saying it’s OK to physically attack any who belong to “the movement” that elected Trump? And if so, then is Rubio also saying it’s OK to physically attack Trump? The supposed leader of this “movement?” The political vagaries allow Rubio to deny this, and perhaps say that he is talking about white supremacists, neo-Nazis, or the KKK. But even if he is talking about these groups…. Is he correct in saying it’s “justifiable” to physically attack them for their views? If so, then he is no friend to freedom in general, nor to free speech in specific.
