Wicomico County Public Schools graduate Eddie Merritt (Parkside Class of '16) was recently honored as a Certified World Class Auto Technician by General Motors. At age 19, Merritt is believed to be the youngest ever to achieve this at GM. Merritt works at Courtesy Chevrolet in Salisbury, MD and learned his skills in the CTE program at Parkside High School.
Yes need to hear more success stories like this! Congratulations to this fine young gentleman! We need more people interested in learning a skill. Not everyone is cut out to go to college. Follow your passion not what someone tells you you should do. Have to have money but must be happy in your career for you will be spending many hours on a job so make sure you love what your doing!
Great Job Eddie! My son also benefited from vocational training in Worcester County and has been extremely successful as an elevator mechanic. The trades are suffering the loss of highly trained and driven people. This article just made my day!!!
