The man who barged into a Riverside, California elementary school shortly after 11am on Tuesday and proceeded to take a teacher hostage for six hours before being shot dead by a SWAT team has been identified as Luvelle Kennon.
Authorities are now saying that Kennon, 27, was a disgruntled father and in the midst of an 'emotional breakdown' when he grabbed Linda Montgomery, 70, and put her in a headlock as he dragged her into a classroom at Castle View Elementary School.
A substitute teacher who is married to a staff member tried to intervene at one point before Kennon got Montgomery into the room, but was beaten bloody by the man and left with a broken nose.

Muslims to soon beat out Jews in U.S. population
There are about 3.35 million Muslims in the United States right now, according to recent Pew Research Center’s Factank figures.
But by 2050, that particular population is projected to grow — from about 1 percent of the U.S. population to about 2.1 percent. If it does, that means America will be home to more Muslims than Jews.
Just something to think about, post New York City terror attack — a terror attack that we now know was committed by a radicalized Muslim who professed allegiance to ISIS.
President Donald Trump, in a tweet, wrote: “We must not allow ISIS to return, or enter, our country after defeating them in the Middle East and elsewhere. Enough!”

NYC Terrorist Bragged About Attack In Hospital, Was Pleased With His "Success"
Update 2:20 pm: The New York Daily News is reporting that Sayfullo Saipov followed instructions from an ISIS propaganda magazine "almost to the letter" in the runup to Tuesday's attack. This appears to support investigators' claims that the Halloween massacre has all the hallmarks of a lone-wolf operation, and that they haven't found any evidence that he had direct links to a terror group.
The piece, published in ISIS's Rumiyah magazine last year, was titled “Just Terror Tactics” and lays out in chilling detail how to use a truck to maximize casualties.
“Vehicles are like knives, as they are extremely easy to acquire,” the article says. “But unlike knives, which if found in one’s possession can be a cause for suspicion, vehicles arouse absolutely no doubts due to their widespread use throughout the world. It is for this obvious reason that using a vehicle is one of the most comprehensive methods of attack.”
The story, which features a photo of a Hertz rental truck, advises would-be terrorists to use a load-bearing truck, to target areas that draw large crowds, to bring with them a secondary weapon, to announce allegiance to Allah and to leave behind a note pledging support for the Islamic State.
Saipov even left behind a note that was strikingly similar to the language suggested in the article.
The note read: “The Islamic State will remain."

Were the Podesta brothers tipped off?
As President Trump's former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, goes down in the first indictment from the Mueller special prosecution, on charges of failing to file as a registered foreign agent, there's been speculation about why Tony Podesta, Hillary Clinton's campaign manager's brother, didn't get indicted, too. He was involved with the same pro-Russia Ukrainian think tank as Manafort.
Joe Hoft at GatewayPundit found an old piece from the Washington Examiner dating from last August that likely explains why:
The Podesta Group belatedly filed several new disclosures with the Justice Department on Aug. 17 related to work the firm completed between 2012 and 2014 on behalf of a pro-Russia Ukrainian think tank.
Back in April, the powerful Washington lobbying firm run by Clinton ally Tony Podesta filed a document admitting its work for the pro-Russia European Centre for a Modern Ukraine may have principally benefited a foreign government. New disclosures revealed dozens of previously unreported interactions the firm made with influential government offices, including Hillary Clinton's State Department and the office of former Vice President Joe Biden, while lobbying on behalf of the center. Embattled ex-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort failed to disclose his extensive lobbying efforts on behalf of the center at the time as well.

Meet Monsanto's Other Herbicide Problem...
Earlier this year we wrote about a series of court documents that were unsealed and seemingly revealed a startling effort on the part of both Monsanto and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to work in concert to kill and/or discredit independent, albeit inconvenient, cancer research conducted by the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) related to their key herbicidal product, RoundUp. The efforts to kill the research came even as Monsanto's own lead toxicologist, Donna Farmer, admitted that she "cannot say that Roundup does not cause cancer" because "[w]e [Monsanto] have not done the carcinogenicity studies with Roundup" (see: Monsanto Colluded With EPA, Was Unable To Prove Roundup Does Not Cause Cancer, Unsealed Court Docs Reveal).
But, as Reuters points out today, RoundUp isn't the only Monsanto herbicide causing outrage in the ag community these days as state regulators all across the country say they're being flooded with reports from farmers that Dicamba, Monsanto's other herbicide, is increasingly becoming airborne and killing crops far away from the fields where they were actually applied.
U.S. farmers have overwhelmed state governments with thousands of complaints about crop damage linked to new versions of weed killers, threatening future sales by manufacturers Monsanto Co (MON.N) and BASF SE (BASFn.DE).
Monsanto is banking on weed killers using a chemical known as dicamba - and seeds engineered to resist it - to dominate soybean production in the United States, the world’s second-largest exporter.
The United States has faced a weed-killer crisis this year caused by the new formulations of dicamba-based herbicides, which farmers and weed experts say have harmed crops because they evaporate and drift away from where they are applied.
Regulators in several major soybean-growing states, including Arkansas, Missouri and Illinois, each say they received roughly four years’ worth of complaints about possible pesticide damage to crops this year due to dicamba use.

Tom Perez Lies About DNC Role in Funding Russia Dossier
Democratic National Committee chair Tom Perez falsely asserted Tuesday that the "Russia dossier" produced by the research firm Fusion GPS was commissioned by the Washington Free Beacon.
Perez was coy about the DNC's role in the dossier's creation on Tuesday, according toThe Daily Caller, declining to say how much the DNC paid Fusion GPS or who authorized the payments.
Perez went on to say Trump "has a very shady relationship with Russian authorities," according to the report, and then falsely claimed the dossier was merely the DNC continuing earlier work commissioned by the Free Beacon:

South Africa sees protests against murders of white farmers
JOHANNESBURG – Thousands of white farmers have snarled traffic on some major roads in South Africa in what they call their Black Monday protest against the high rate of murders of farmers.
Convoys of hundreds of slow moving hundreds of trucks and cars brought traffic to a crawl on highways leading from farming areas to Cape Town, Pretoria and Johannesburg and white farmers and their supporters wore black in memory of those farmers killed on their properties. The protests have been peaceful and the South African police have accompanied the demonstrators.

Mafia in our midst: A mob soldier turned Phoenix businessman
Frank Gioia Jr. no longer exists. Anyone meeting him today never would know he once was a soldier in the New York Mafia.
Federal authorities erased Gioia’s criminal history in exchange for his cooperation and testimony against more than 70 mobsters. He walked out of prison in 1999 with a new identity and into a new life as an Arizona businessman.
That identity, from the Federal Witness Protection Program, helped him morph from a mobster into a real-estate developer and restaurateur, an Arizona Republic investigation shows. He became the head of a chain of restaurants called Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill.
His success was short-lived, overshadowed by allegations of fraud and massive losses for his business associates.
Documents and interviews show Gioia used his government-provided identity to create havoc. He or his companies negotiated deals to build Toby Keith restaurants with mall owners and developers throughout the United States, then took tens of millions of dollars meant to pay for construction and walked away.
Gioia’s business associates know him as Frank Capri. No background checks, no amount of vetting, no financial examination and no legal review would have revealed Capri’s record as a confessed murderer, drug dealer, gun runner, arsonist, extortionist, loan shark and leg breaker.
That’s because the Witness Protection Program isn’t set up to protect the public.
Few controls are in place to ensure criminals who enter the program don’t commit new crimes or create problems for those they encounter in their new lives. There are even fewer controls to prevent them from leaving the program or track them if they do.

Feds interviewed suspected NYC truck attacker in 2015 about possible terror ties
The suspected New York City attacker, Sayfullo Saipov, was interviewed in 2015 by federal agents in the Department of Homeland Security Investigations Unit about possible ties to suspected terrorists, but the agents did not have enough evidence to open a case on him, laws enforcement officials tell ABC News.
Saipov's name and address was listed as a “point of contact” for two different men whose names were entered into the Counter-terrorism and Criminal Exploitation Unit’s list after they came to the United States from “threat countries,” one federal official told ABC News.
One of the two men has vanished and is being actively sought by federal agents as a “suspected terrorist.”
Saipov, 29, came to the United States from Uzbekistan through a Diversity Visa Program lottery in 2010, making him a legal permanent resident of the United States upon arrival. He has lived in Ohio, Florida and, most recently, Paterson, N.J., where federal agents interviewed Saipov in 2015.

Weekly Fishing Report: Nov. 1, 2017
The fall months offer some exciting fishing opportunities for anglers across Maryland, from the trout management waters of Garrett County to the shores of Ocean City.
Daylight is getting sparser and this weekend the clocks fall back an hour, making it a little harder to get some fishing time after work and school.
We’re all looking to stretch out fishing time as much as we can, always thinking: “Just one more cast."

McCain Continues to Dodge Questions on Role in Trump Hoax Dossier
Sen. John McCain has still not responded to questions raised in light of the disclosure last Tuesday that the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) helped fund research utilized in the infamous, largely discredited 35-page dossier on President Donald Trump.
In December, it was McCain who notoriously passed the controversial dossier produced by the Washington firm Fusion GPS to then FBI Director James Comey, whose agency reportedly utilized the dossier as a partial basis for its probe into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
McCain’s office did not respond to repeated Breitbart News phone and email requests over the course of last week and this week seeking comment on whether the Arizona senator was aware that the material he passed to the FBI was paid for by the DNC and Clinton’s campaign.
McCain’s office also did not respond to requests for information on how he first obtained the dossier, which is filled with discredited charges.
A spokesperson for McCain confirmed by telephone that the Breitbart News requests were received.

NY Sen. Schumer Created Diversity Visas Which Invited Alleged Killer to NY
The Democrats’ Senate leader, N.Y. Sen. Chuck Schumer helped create the diversity visa program which reportedly provided a green card to the Islamic immigrant who allegedly killed eight New Yorkers on October 31.
The diversity visa program was created in 1990 by then-Rep. Schumer in response to Irish lobbies in his New York district. Twenty-seven years later, it annually awards 50,000 visas by annual lottery to entrants from around the world, ensuring a cascade of subsequent chain-migrants.
An August poll shows that only one-in-six Americans strongly favors the program, despite much political and media pressure to welcome migrants.
Other polls show that the public strongly opposes elements of the program which offers green cards to people with few skills, little earning ability and little ability to assimilate into the United States’ non-Islamic society.
President Donald Trump and several GOP legislators, including Georgia Sen David Perdue and Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton, has called for the diversity visa program to be ended. But the program is praised by progressives for imposing variety on Americans’ civic society.

Americans Are Really Stressing Out About the Nation's Future
For those lying awake at night worried about health care, the economy, and an overall feeling of divide between you and your neighbors, there’s at least one source of comfort:
Your neighbors might very well be lying awake, too.
Almost two-thirds of Americans, or 63 percent, report being stressed about the future of the nation, according to the American Psychological Association’s Eleventh Stress in America survey, conducted in August and released on Wednesday.
This worry about the fate of the union tops longstanding stressors such as money (62 percent) and work (61 percent) and also cuts across political proclivities. However, a significantly larger proportion of Democrats (73 percent) reported feeling stress than independents (59 percent) and Republicans (56 percent).
The “current social divisiveness” in America was reported by 59 percent of those surveyed as a cause of their own malaise. When the APA surveyed Americans a year ago, 52 percent said they were stressed by the presidential campaign. Since then, anxieties have only grown.
A majority of the more than 3,400 Americans polled, 59 percent, said “they consider this to to be the lowest point in our nation’s history that they can remember.”

Hamas Promises ‘Blood for Blood’ After Israeli Tunnel Bombing
A Hamas leader on Tuesday promised revenge — but not immediately — for the deaths of seven Palestinians when Israel blew up an attack tunnel that stretched into its territory.
“I assure the leadership of [Palestinian] Islamic Jihad: blood for blood, destruction for destruction,” Ismail Haniyeh said during the funeral in Khan Younis Tuesday for those killed in the tunnel.
The tunnel, which was built and controlled by the PIJ terror group, ran beneath Khan Younis and crossed underneath the Israeli border.
Killed in the explosion were five militants associated with the PIJ, including two senior leaders and two members of Hamas’ military during a rescue operation, according to the group.
An Israel Defense Forces spokesperson said the “majority of the dead were operatives who entered the tunnel after it was blown up and died in the Gaza Strip, and not as a [direct] result of the explosion.”

Hispanic Caucus Debates Whether to Let Republican Join
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus is deciding whether to let Republican Rep. Carlos Curbelo (Fla.) join, which has become a controversy within a caucus that is composed entirely of Democrats.
The House Administration Committee is expected to tell the caucus by Thursday's weekly meeting if they are required to let him join, CHC Chairwoman Michelle Lujan Grisham (D., N.M.) told Politico.
Last week, the CHC delayed dealing with the matter after many members of the caucus accused Curbelo of wanting to join as a political ploy for his re-election.
Curbelo's district is 70 percent Latino and is a prime pickup opportunity for Democrats. It has more Democrats than Republicans, and Hillary Clinton won it in the 2016 presidential election.
However, Curbelo easily won the district in his 2016 re-election with over ten percentage points more of the vote than his Democratic opponent.
"The Congressional Hispanic Caucus should not discriminate against any American of Hispanic descent. The CHC should focus on uniting America’s Hispanic community in support of issues like compassionate immigration reform, economic growth and opportunity, and better education," Curbelo said in a statement.

Humans love dogs more than other people: study
Humans love dogs more than their fellow man.
Two major studies showed that mankind has more empathy for pooches in dire circumstances than suffering people, according to a report in the Times of London.
A UK medical research charity staged two phony donation campaigns — one for a dog and the other featuring a man. Of course, the pooch drew more contributions.
“Would you give 5 pounds to save Harrison from a slow, painful death?” the separate ads said, featuring a canine and human “Harrison.”

Gorka: ‘Diversity Visa’ Program Used by NYC Truck Jihadi Is ‘Politically Correct Act of Madness’
Dr. Sebastian Gorka, chief strategist for the MAGA Coalition, discussed the New York City terror attack with SiriusXM host Raheem Kassam on Wednesday’s Breitbart News Daily.
Gorka described the “diversity visa” program that brought terrorist killer Sayfullo Saipov into the United States as a “politically correct act of madness.”
“America is the most diverse nation in the world. There is no key ethnicity in America. There is no special social heritage background,” he said. “And for some reason Chuck Schumer, back in the 90s, thought that we weren’t a diverse nation and helped create the green card lottery by which individuals from across the globe who simply had a high school diploma and two years of employment could apply like rolling the dice in a casino to get a green card to enter the United States.”
“This Uzbek national was one of the individuals who exploited this act of cultural and political suicide and became a resident of the United States,” he said.

Tim Kaine Lies About Clinton Campaign’s Role in Funding Russia Dossier
Failed vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine was defensive when asked by CNN Tuesday about the fact that the Hillary Clinton campaign, of which he was part, funded the Fusion GPS dossier containing explosive and unverified claims about Donald Trump and Russia.
"You hear the talking points on the other side," said "New Day" host Alisyn Camerota. "We’ve heard this time and again over the past few weeks; it was the Hillary Clinton campaign that wanted dirt from Russians via Fusion GPS, via Christopher Steele."
"They're trying to change the subject," Kaine said, before saying he would have no problem with Special Counsel Robert Mueller investigating the issue.
Kaine denied there was any equivalency between allegations that the Trump campaign reached out to the Russians and the Clinton funding, through law firm Perkins Coie, of Fusion GPS.
Then he changed the subject himself.
"If you're asking about the dossier, that was funded by a conservative online publication in Washington, Washington Free Beacon," Kaine falsely asserted..

State Police Investigate Crash Involving Charter Bus
(Annapolis, MD) The Maryland State Police Annapolis Barrack is investigating a three vehicle crash involving a charter bus carrying students from Wicomico Middle School at approximately 3:17pm yesterday afternoon.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a white Dodge van was traveling in lane 3 of US Route 50 on the Severn River Bridge. Due to traffic slowing, the white Dodge van struck the rear of a purple Acura. The white Dodge van then attempted to change to lane 2 where it struck the charter bus.
Seven students between the ages of ten and thirteen were transported for precautionary reasons to Anne Arundel Medical Center. Notification has been made to all the parents. The driver of the white Dodge van, Bruce Pringle of Annapolis, was transported by ambulance to Anne Arundel Medical Center. He was issued a citation for failure to control speed to avoid a collision.
Lanes 1 and 2 of eastbound US Route 50 were shut down for approximately forty minutes. The Maryland State Highway Administration assisted with lane closures and traffic control.

The Clinton Fusion Russian Collusion
Special counsel Robert Mueller issued the first three indictments from his investigation into what Hillary Clinton, her Democrat Party hacks and their MSM propaganda machine insist was Trump/Putin collusion to swing the 2016 presidential election.
There will be more indictments from the investigation into the “attack on our democracy,” as Clinton calls it, but they may land on the doorstep of the Clinton crime syndicate — especially in regard to the Obama/Clinton quid pro quo cash for uranium deal.
The Washington (Bezos) Post had been promoting this charade as Watergate on steroids, until it could no longer conceal the fact that it had discovered the fake Trump/Putin dossier, the impetus for investigation, was actually funded by Clinton and the Democrat National Committee.
Again, in the spirit of the Watergate investigation, I ask, “What did WaPo know, and when did they know it?” Did it really take 10 months for some Beltway “journalist” to make the connection between Clinton, the DNC and the Russians?
Four days before the WaPo report, Clinton was still asserting the Trump Collusion Delusion: “The closer the investigation about real Russian ties between Trump associates and real Russians … the more they just want to throw mud on the wall, and I’m their favorite target.”

Antifa Colluding With Islamic State?
The former chief editor of the New York Times Magazine, Edward Klein, just released his book entitled, All Out War: The Plot to Destroy Trump. Klein references a recent FBI field report concluding that American radical leftist groups, like antifa, have been actively reaching out and communicating with the Islamic State in an effort to “resist” and overthrow President Donald Trump.
“There is clearly overwhelming evidence that there are growing ties between U.S. radicals and the Islamic State, as well as several [ISIS] offshoots and splinter groups,” a recent FBI field report states. In fact, the report continues, “This is the greatest challenge to law enforcement since the Weather Underground and the Black Panther Party.” According to the report, there is evidence that members of a leftist radical group from Oakland traveled this past summer to Germany and met with individuals associated with the Islamic State. “Ties between three key leaders in the Oakland group met in Hamburg with a leader of the AQAP [al-Qaida in the Arab Peninsula] and the AQIM [al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb]. The leader from AQAP is an Egyptian-born male who is know to be in charge of finances and recruiting for the group. There is evidence from informants that he is helping the Oakland group acquire the weapons they are seeking, primarily bomb making equipment and toxic chemicals and gasses,” the report surmises. The field report then said, “This group and their connections with radical Islamic groups must be disrupted and destroyed.”
How did this growing radicalization remain under the radar for so long?

Star Parker: Free the Tax Code From Special Interests
A big tax bill is all it takes to see how perverse and dysfunctional our government has become.
Why are the halls of Congress now crawling with special interest lobbyists looking for opportunities to carve out some new benefit, or to protect existing special interests in the tax code?
The objective of the tax bill Republicans want to piece together is noble. Make the code more simple, logical and easy to use. The tax code should be an exercise in civic responsibility in which all participate to pay for the legitimate functions of government.
But what are those legitimate functions of government? What happened to that discussion? Why when the plate goes around in church do all feel privileged to contribute and participate in a noble cause? And why when government collects our taxes do we want to run and hide?
The answer, of course, is simple. What goes on in Washington is no longer a reflection, in Lincoln’s famous words, of government “of the people, by the people, for the people.” The tax code has become an instrument of government power brokers to extract money from private citizens to finance pet schemes of Washington’s political class.
According to American Enterprise Institute economist and blogger Mark Perry, some 70 percent of the federal budget, about $2.6 trillion, is transfer payments — funds recycled from one set of private citizens to others. Most of federal government spending is not about paying for functions of government, but for social engineering, meddling in our lives.

Wasteful Health Care Spending and Unknown Costs
Now that Halloween is behind us, Americans are faced with something far more frightening for the foreseeable future. The cost of health care is one of the scariest things facing all Americans and there is currently no viable solution to the monstrosity of Barack Obama’s Unaffordable Care Act. Congressional Republicans have been completely inept at getting any meaningful legislation to President Donald Trump’s desk.
The extreme cost of health care and the spending involved is something recognized by nearly all policy experts. However, there is a chasm of disagreement between experts on how to address the problem. Those on the Left advocate for a single-payer system, while those on the Right advocate for a return to free-market solutions. With both sides arguing for completely different solutions, there seems to be little hope that anything meaningful will get accomplished.
That said, there are currently two primary problems with health care in America: wasteful spending on behalf of the federal government and the individual cost. We have known for decades that the federal government has a spending problem, and with health care taking up more than one-fifth of the economy, it should be no surprise that there is just as much wasteful spending with health care as there is with any other government function.
In particular, Pascal-Emmanuel Gobry, a fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, notes two facts that are worth highlighting:

"A Shocking Truth": Donna Brazille Accuses Clinton Campaign Of "Rigging" Primary
"When I was asked to run the Democratic Party after the Russians hacked our emails, I stumbled onto a shocking truth about the Clinton campaign."
Inside Hillary Clinton’s Secret Takeover of the DNC
Before I called Bernie Sanders, I lit a candle in my living room and put on some gospel music. I wanted to center myself for what I knew would be an emotional phone call.
I had promised Bernie when I took the helm of the Democratic National Committee after the convention that I would get to the bottom of whether Hillary Clinton’s team had rigged the nomination process, as a cache of emails stolen by Russian hackers and posted online had suggested. I’d had my suspicions from the moment I walked in the door of the DNC a month or so earlier, based on the leaked emails. But who knew if some of them might have been forged? I needed to have solid proof, and so did Bernie.
So I followed the money. My predecessor, Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, had not been the most active chair in fundraising at a time when President Barack Obama’s neglect had left the party in significant debt. As Hillary’s campaign gained momentum, she resolved the party’s debt and put it on a starvation diet. It had become dependent on her campaign for survival, for which she expected to wield control of its operations.
Debbie was not a good manager. She hadn’t been very interested in controlling the party—she let Clinton’s headquarters in Brooklyn do as it desired so she didn’t have to inform the party officers how bad the situation was. How much control Brooklyn had and for how long was still something I had been trying to uncover for the last few weeks.
By September 7, the day I called Bernie, I had found my proof and it broke my heart.

Study: Support for Free Speech Eroding
A new study examining the country's views on free speech found that 62 percent of students feel they are prevented from saying things they believe, and right-leaning views have taken the hardest hit.
Emily Ekins, the director of polling at the libertarian Cato Institute who conducted the study, told the Washington Free Beacon that both Republicans and Democrats reported it is their more conservative views they are wary of sharing, demonstrating that the left-of-center controls "social power."
Liberals reported feeling uncomfortable saying they thought Confederate statutes shouldn't be taken down; that supporting the First Amendment doesn't equal racism; or that identity politics has gone too far.
Meanwhile, 50 percent of students say the dominant political view on campus is liberal.
Sixty-one percent of students think colleges owe to their students to expose them to all types of viewpoints, but 57 percent think colleges have an obligation to protect its students from offensive speech and ideas. A full 70 percent think it is morally unacceptable to say offensive things.
The Cato study, titled "The State of Free Speech and Tolerance in America," breaks down respondents' familiarity with social-justice keywords, support for hate speech statutes, and views on disciplinary action for student protesters who disrupt speakers.

BREAKING NEWS: MSP Arrest Suspects Who Rammed Police Vehicles In Princess Anne
Lamount Maurice Potter Jr., 21, of Crisfield, is charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, resisting arrest and violation of probation for possession with intent to distribute narcotics. He is being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center pending an appearance before a court commissioner.
At about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, members of the Maryland State Apprehension Team and MSP Gang Enforcement Unit were attempting to apprehend Potter, who was wanted on an outstanding violation of probation warrant for possession with intent to distribute narcotics. Investigators attempted a traffic stop on a 2017 Ram 2500 pickup truck in the area of McCain Drive and College Backbone Road in Princess Anne, Maryland.
Potter was originally a passenger in the truck, which was being operated by Lashae Caprice Smith. Investigators said Smith initially attempted to drive around several police vehicles to avoid being stopped. Smith then reversed the truck and intentionally struck a police vehicle parked behind it.
Smith then got out of the vehicle – it is unclear whether she was pushed or got out voluntarily – and Potter moved over into the driver’s seat where he accelerated the truck and deliberately rammed another police vehicle on the front driver’s side, disabling the police car. Potter then accelerated through the police vehicle, pushing it forward, before striking a UMES road sign and driving through a ditch to escape police capture.
Potter then drove northbound on Route 13 before abandoning the vehicle in the area of Route 13 and South Boulevard in Salisbury approximately 15 minutes later. The suspect then ran away from the scene.
A Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit arrived on scene to attempt a K-9 track, which was met with negative results. MSP Aviation responded to assist with the search for Potter, which also was met with negative results.
Potter was located and arrested at about 1 a.m. Thursday at the Residence Inn by Marriott in the 100 block of Centre Road in Salisbury. According to investigators, Potter resisted arrest and a struggle ensued with police before he was arrested. The suspect was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure before being taken to the detention center.
Smith, 24, of Princess Anne, is charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and malicious destruction of property of more than $1,000. She is being held at the Somerset County Detention Center on $50,000 bail.
No police personnel or civilians were injured during this incident. The investigation is ongoing.
Delingpole: Trump Vindicated; Now Even the UN Confirms That the Paris Climate Accord Was a Complete Waste of Space
The United Nations has officially confirmed what many of us, including President Trump, knew already: the Paris climate accord was a complete waste of space.
As UN Environment admits in its latest Emissions Shortfall report, even when you add up all the CO2 reduction pledges made by all the signatory nations at Paris, it still comes to only a third of what is supposedly necessary to stop the world warming by more than 2 degrees C by the end of this century.
According to UN Environment’s head Eric Solheim, the world is heading for disaster:
“One year after the Paris Agreement entered into force, we still find ourselves in a situation where we are not doing nearly enough to save hundreds of millions of people from a miserable future. Governments, the private sector and civil society must bridge this catastrophic climate gap.”

Planned Parenthood Targets Black Women With Message of Abortions Being ‘Safe’
Planned Parenthood tweeted on Tuesday about how it is safer for an African American woman to have an abortion than carry a fetus to term.
The country's largest abortion provider sent the tweet, apparently with the intention of getting into the "scary" Halloween spirit. "If you're a Black woman in America, it's statistically safer to have an abortion than to carry a pregnancy to term or give birth #ScaryStats," Planned Parenthood Black Community tweeted.
Some in the African American community have criticized Planned Parenthood's advocacy for abortion access in cities as being "black genocide."

DNC: White men shouldn't apply for tech jobs
White men need not apply.
That’s the message from a Democratic National Committee data services manager, currently on the hunt to filll multiple vacancies in the tech department.
The political organization, which routinely makes grand statements about inclusion, recently sent an email to its employees looking to recruit people for eight open spots including IT Systems Administrator, Product Manager and Chief Security Officer.
Though the Oct. 30 email says that the DNC is looking for a “staff of diverse voices and life experiences,” it apparently doesn’t mean white men.
DNC’s Data Service Manager Madeleine Leader purportedly wrote in an email that the desire for diversity excludes “cisgender straight white males.”
Leader adds, “I personally would prefer that you not forward to cisgender straight white males, as they are already in the majority.”

Trump reveals NY terror suspect brought in 23 people
President Donald Trump said the suspect in the New York terror attack had been allowed to bring in 23 people as a 'primary point of contact,' as he called for changes in the U.S. immigration system just hours after the attack.
'This man that came in – or whatever you want to call him – brought in, with him, other people,' the president said at the White House today. 'And he was a point, he was the point of contact – the primary point of contact for, and this is preliminarily – 23 people that came in, or potentially came in with him.'
'And that's not acceptable,' the president added.
Trump called for a 'merit-based' system, as he called for ending the diversity-based lottery program that allowed Uzbekistan-born Sayfullo Saipov to come to the country.

Is Facebook Secretly Listening to Your Conversations?
We never got hoverboards, but we did get thin slabs of plastic that can access the entirety of human knowledge, plus Tinder. Apps get us food on demand. Games keep us entertained. Social media services let us connect with friends and loved ones.
As philosopher Paul Virilio once said, “When you invent the ship, you also invent the shipwreck.” So, what disasters lay in wait for our tech-obsessed culture? It could be argued we’ve already seen the worst of it. Facebook seems to have been an unwitting accomplice to Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election. Internet comment boards consistently shine a light on humanity’s baser instincts. Our president controls the media cycle by bashing out crude, and often misspelled, micro-statements on Twitter.
There’s one shipwreck that has long floated underneath the surface of Internet life, popping into our collective consciousness every now and then, like a sudden outbreak of acne. Surveillance.
Sure, the National Security Agency can spy on us without a warrant, as Edward Snowden so famously revealed, but what about our favorite social media platforms? Phones and computers are equipped with state-of-the-art cameras and microphones, after all.
One married couple claims to have conducted an experiment and reached a harrowing conclusion. They say Facebook is listening to our conversations and adjusts their ads accordingly.
With phones close, the couple talked incessantly about cat food for an entire day in July..

Drug-Resistant Gonorrhea Turning Into Untreatable Superbug
Gonorrhea is rapidly becoming an untreatable superbug that is at least sometimes resistant to the drugs usually used to treat it.
Gonorrhea is spread through sexual contact and affects about 78 million people around the world each year, the World Health Organization reported in July, and 97 percent of the 77 countries surveyed between 2009 and 2014 have said that drug-resistant strains are present there.
The typical treatment for the disease has been a combination of ceftriaxone and azithromyacin, the New York Daily News reported, but the bacteria involved are evolving to resist these antibiotics more and more.
"At the moment, all cases of gonorrhea are still treatable using some combination of available antibiotics," Dr. Xavier Didelot, Imperial College London senior lecturer in the department of infectious disease and epidemiology, said, according to Time magazine. "But at the current rate at which resistance is developing, we could find ourselves facing a situation where no antibiotic works, which would mean a return to the pre-antibiotic era."

Arizona Poll: Likely Republican Primary Voters Favor Dr. Kelli Ward
Given six names to choose from, more than one in four likely Arizona Republican primary voters chose Dr. Kelli Ward to replace now retiring Sen. Jeff Flake in a new poll from Data Orbital.
Respondents were given six names as well as the options “undecided” and “refused” to answer the question, “If the Republican Primary for US Senate were held today and your choices were (read choices from below), who would you vote for?” The names listed as options were [former Arizona State Senator] Kelli Ward, [Rep.] Martha McSally, [former Rep.] Matt Salmon, [Rep.] David Schweikert, [former Rep.] John Shadegg, and Arizona Board of Regents member Jay Heiler.
Ward took the lead with 26.4 percent. Eight points behind was McSally with 18.6 percent. Salmon trailed with just 10.4 percent with the three other names polling in the low to mid-single digits. Undecideds were just 28 percent with ten months left until Arizona’s August 28, 2018, primary election day. Just over six percent refused to answer the question.
71.2 percent of respondents polled had a “strongly” or “somewhat” favorable view of [President] Donald Trump. Just 3.2 percent were undecided or refused to answer.

Papa John's Pulls NFL Ads Due To "Negative Consumer Sentiment"
Having unleashed on NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell during the Papa John's earnings call this morning...
“The NFL has hurt us by not resolving the current debacle to the players’ and owners’ satisfaction,” Schnatter, who serves as the pizza chain’s chairman and chief executive officer, said on a conference call. “NFL leadership has hurt Papa John’s shareholders.”
“Leadership starts at the top, and this is an example of poor leadership,” Schnatter said.
“This should have been nipped in the bud a year and a half ago,” Schnatter said on the call.
He concluded that “like many sponsors, we’re in touch with the NFL. Once the issue is resolved, we’re optimistic the NFL’s best years are ahead.”
It appears Papa John's founder John Schnatter was serious about that last line... as ESPN's Darren Rovell reports that "Papa John’s says it has been pulling advertising associated with the NFL."
While the last few sponsors/advertisers to pull their money from The NFL (here and here) were shrugged off by some, the decision by the major pizza chain - which is a mainstay of almost every commercial break as far as we can remember - will perhaps shock a few more owners.
Papa John's is deeply rooted in the NFL since it has a deal with the league and 23 of its individual teams, according to Rovell.

"He's F**ked": Trump Blames Kushner For Mueller Probe As West Wing "Fears Impeachment", VF Reports
In a new bombshell report, Vanity Fair says that for the first time since the Mueller investigation began earlier this year, key Trump allies in the West Wing are starting to worry that the notion of an impeachment might be slightly more than just a Democratic pipe dream. As former aide Sam Nunberg said, Mueller's indictment of Paul Manafort has sparked concerns in the White House that Mueller has every intention of parsing through every Trump/Kushner financial dealing until he uncovers something incriminating.
Until now, Robert Mueller has haunted Donald Trump’s White House as a hovering, mostly unseen menace. But by securing indictments of Paul Manafort and Rick Gates, and a surprise guilty plea from foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos, Mueller announced loudly that the Russia investigation poses an existential threat to the president. “Here’s what Manafort’s indictment tells me: Mueller is going to go over every financial dealing of Jared Kushner and the Trump Organization,” said former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg. “Trump is at 33 percent in Gallup. You can’t go any lower. He’s f**ked.”
The first charges in the Mueller probe have kindled talk of what the endgame for Trump looks like, according to conversations with a half-dozen advisers and friends of the president. For the first time since the investigation began, the prospect of impeachment is being considered as a realistic outcome and not just a liberal fever dream. According to a source, advisers in the West Wing are on edge and doing whatever they can not to be ensnared. One person close to Dina Powell and Gary Cohn said they’re making sure to leave rooms if the subject of Russia comes up.

$1.00 per hour minimum, $5.00 for four hours. I really don't think it will take much for ANYONE to run against Mayor Jake Day and win.
Trump Blames Schumer Immigration Policy For NYC Terror Attack
Update: Schumer has responded on twitter, first blasting Trump's accusation, stating "I guess it's not too soon to politicize a tragedy"...
Other Democrats also criticized the president’s reaction. “I think it’s kind of absurd in the hours after this terrible attack to be using it as a fulcrum for a debate that’s been going on in Congress for completely different reasons,” Representative Adam Schiff of California said on MSNBC on Wednesday. “I’ve never really heard this made as a security argument, and I think to use this tragedy in that way to push a different agenda is not what the president ought to be doing right now."
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, a potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, also jabbed at Trump for politicizing the tragedy according to Bloomberg.
“I don’t think this is the time to get political,” he told MSNBC. “We had a policy, an immigration policy in place in the ’90s. It was a bipartisan policy. It was signed by a Republican president. There’s no doubt that we have to be smarter and have more intelligent but there’s also no doubt that this is not the time to play politics. This is not the time to foment hate. This is not the time to divide, because they all exacerbate the situation, right? This is the time to forge alliances with our allies.”

In a series of tweets this morning following the tragic terrorist event in downtown Manhattan yesterday afternoon, President Trump has laid part of the blame for the terrorist attack squarely at the feet of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer: "The terrorist came into our country through what is called the "Diversity Visa Lottery Program," a Chuck Schumer beauty..."
