Why Are Kids in Waycross Getting Cancer?

Fourteen-year-old Lexi Crawford was attacked by lower back pain so sharp that she couldn’t even sit up to eat. Her mother had to bring her food while she was lying flat on her back. Doctors in Waycross, GA, the small town where she lives, thought it was a kidney infection. But after months of antibiotics didn’t clear it up, a visiting doctor in the local ER suggested an X-ray.

What he saw on the scan was terrifying.

Black spots covered Lexi’s spine. “That’s cancer,” he told her mother, Cristy Rice. “I don’t know what kind it is, or where else it is, but that’s cancer.”

As Lexi first started feeling sick, in a house across town, 2-year-old Harris Lott began complaining that his stomach hurt. He suddenly lost the ability to urinate, and his parents, who are both doctors, rushed him to an emergency room. He was diagnosed with an infection. After treatment, he was fine for a while, but a few weeks later, the problem returned, and a urologist said it was time for more tests. They found a tumor the size of a grapefruit in his abdomen.

A few days later, doctors told the grandparents of 5-year-old Gage Walker, who lives 14 miles east in nearby Hoboken, GA, that the unrelenting stomach pain he’d had for weeks was probably constipation. For 2 months, doctors sent him home with laxatives. “He would just cry and cry and cry. I thought something was really wrong,’” says his grandmother, Ellen Walker. It, too, turned out to be cancer.

The same cancer.

Ocean City Scores Lone U.S. ‘Celtic Yuletide’ Performance During Holidays

OCEAN CITY – A two-time Emmy award nominee, producer and singer is bringing his production, “Celtic Yuletide” to the Ocean City Convention Center for one performance this Saturday, Dec. 3

Michael Londra, an Irish singer and lead voice of Riverdance on Broadway, said the Ocean City performance will be the only U.S. concert for the 2016 year.

“It is random because I usually do 30 dates in November and December,” said Londra, who added that prior engagements in Dublin prevented him from staying in the U.S. longer.

“What happened was I had a window of four days in the U.S. and that date was already booked by the convention center,” Londra said. “I literally fly out the next morning to Dublin.”

‘If you help her, I’m going to kill you’: EMT student risks his life to try to save shooting victim

All he wanted to do was help, but before it was over, he had sustained multiple painful injuries from being shot and run over twice.

Daniel Wesley, 17, is a trained emergency medical responder studying for his EMT certification, and on the way home from a shopping trip at the Mall of Louisiana with his mother, Kathy Wesley, Sunday, he noticed 30-year-old April Peck lying in the roadway, Baton Rouge’s Advocate reported.

Moments after spotting Peck, the teenager pulled over, quickly yanked his father’s medic bag from the car and dashed over to the woman, who had been shot and tossed from her vehicle minutes earlier by her boyfriend, 48-year-old Terrell Walker.

Just as Wesley was putting a pair of gloves on, preparing to apply pressure to Peck’s gunshot wound to stop the bleeding, Walker came speeding back — this time, with the car aimed directly for the young medical responder and the smattering of others, including a physician and EMS ambulance crew, gathered around him.

Stein’s Recount Funded By George Soros?

According to the official fundraising page, the “Stein/Baraka Green Party Campaign launched an effort to ensure the integrity of our elections” however it has been revealed that George Soros, the globalist billionaire well known for his donations to Black Lives Matter and the tens of millions he has given Hillary, is almost single-handedly funding the campaign.

Investigators became convinced Jill Stein’s fundraising operation was not the organic, grassroots campaign it has been promoted as after they noticed that funding came in at an absolutely perfect $160,000 per hour. That is odd enough, but the donations continued full speed at the exact same rate through the middle of the night while the country was asleep.

Jim Stone, the researcher who was tipped off about the pre-shipped Newsweek cover featuring “Madam President” Hillary Clinton, reports on the fundraising data that proves the Jill Stein campaign is not what the public has been told it is:

“A bot is pulling cash from a central fund, and giving it out at a pre-determined rate.

‘This pattern was nailed with precision up until noon CST, and then they shut it off right around 2:30 before it could hit the next “waypoint” at 6:10 PM. Just back calculate. She hit 4,000,000 at noon. She started it up at 1:30 the day before. That is 22.5 hours. Divide four million by 22.5. It comes out to 177,000 dollars an hour. A few people chipped in during the day, to add a little to the top of what the bot continuously ran at – 160,000 an hour

‘Ok so she has so far raised almost 4.5 million on THANKSGIVING DAY and the night before. FIGURE THE ODDS when her entire campaign did not hit 3 million. Yet she did THAT on THANKSGIVING??!!??

Jill Stein now has the money she needs to initiate the recount. Where did the funds come from? Soros. Despite spending the whole election season mocking Trump’s claim that the election could be rigged, mainstream media is now pushing the narrative that the votes were hacked – even in Pennsylvania where that’s not even possible.

What is about to happen could possibly cause a civil war. Anonymous, the infamous group responsible for hacking multiple high-level officials and agencies, just made an announcement:

“It’s over, folks.

Americans Bought Enough Guns on Black Friday to Arm the Marine Corps!

Black Friday, a day of commercial consumerism. The lines are wrapped around the buildings waiting for the deals of a lifetime. While you might think most consumers are out there waiting for the latest new toy or the biggest TV, many buyers on Black Friday are buying something totally different.

Black Friday is apparently the day to buy guns. Lots of guns!

According to the FBI spokesman Stephen Fischer, Black Friday shattered the single-day record for gun sales – with 185,713 background checks processed in a 24 hour period. Fischer told Business Insider that nearly 400 more transactions were processed on Black Friday than in 2015.

Jill Stein a Clinton Pawn in Push for Recount?

Former Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein has raised nearly $5 million to fund efforts to push for a recount in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. This has led to speculation over what Stein hopes to gain from a potential recount or if she is being used by billionaire investor George Soros or Bill and Hillary Clinton. ‘Stacy on the Right’ Show Host Stacy Washington weighed in on the potential factors driving the push for a recount.

“I saw something interesting this morning on ‘The Hill’ by writer Mary Chastain and she talked about the big deal with Donald Trump saying that he wouldn’t go forward with prosecution on Hillary emails.."

“I thought it was interesting, she [Mary Chastain] points out that the thing that the Clintons crave the most is power and to continue to have influence in Washington, D.C. And by forgiving her he would take away that spotlight.”

Washington explained that this has led to the speculation that Stein’s push for a recount is actually part of a plot by the Clintons to contest the election results without having their names associated with it.

13 get 5 days in jail for Black Lives Matter protest on I-95

Thirteen protesters have been sentenced to five days in jail for illegally blocking traffic on Interstate 95 in Richmond during a Black Lives Matter protest in July.

All 13 demonstrators pleaded guilty Monday afternoon in Richmond General District Court as part of a plea agreement.

While the judge allowed some to report to jail in December — at least one woman was granted a delay because she has upcoming college exams — others were immediately escorted off by sheriff’s deputies to begin serving jail time.

“It was rush hour. They put themselves in danger, and they put other people potentially in danger, so we thought that five days in jail was an appropriate punishment,” said Richmond Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Davis Powell, the prosecutor in the cases.

Powell said in an interview afterward that the defendants’ behavior was “rather irresponsible,” adding that while demonstrators have the right to protest peacefully, “stopping rush-hour traffic is an entirely different thing. ... We thought that warranted punishment.”

Jordan: Congress Has 'Obligation' To Investigate Clinton

Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan says that Congress has “an obligation” to continue investigating Hillary Clinton, despite Donald Trump’s recent comments suggesting that he will go easy on the former secretary of state.

“Congress has an obligation to do oversight,” Jordan, a Republican member of the House Judiciary Committee, said in an interview with Fox News on Wednesday.

“When you think about equal treatment under the law, it’s incumbent upon us to get to the facts and get to the truth here so that the American people know that, in fact, there is a standard in place called equal treatment under the law.”

Jordan’s pledge comes a day after Trump appeared to reverse course on a campaign promise to prosecute Clinton for exchanging classified information on a private email server.

To Really ‘Make America Great Again,’ End the Fed!

The problem is not specific Fed policies, but the very system of fiat currency managed by a secretive central bank

Former Dallas Federal Reserve Bank President Richard Fisher recently gave a speech identifying the Federal Reserve’s easy money/low interest rate policies as a source of the public anger that propelled Donald Trump into the White House. Mr. Fisher is certainly correct that the Fed’s policies have “skewered” the middle class. However, the problem is not specific Fed policies, but the very system of fiat currency managed by a secretive central bank.

Federal Reserve-generated increases in money supply cause economic inequality. This is because, when the Fed acts to increase the money supply, well-to-do investors and other crony capitalists are the first recipients of the new money. These economic elites enjoy an increase in purchasing power before the Fed’s inflationary policies lead to mass price increases. This gives them a boost in their standard of living.

By the time the increased money supply trickles down to middle- and working-class Americans, the economy is already beset by inflation. So most average Americans see their standard of living decline as a result of Fed-engendered money supply increases.

Pro-Immigrant Leaders Demanding Obama Pardon all Illegals and for Expansion of Sanctuary Cities

Pro-Immigrant activists are calling on President Obama to pardon all immigrants who have illegally crossed into the United States and to expand the network of sanctuary cities to provide shelter and security for law-breaking aliens.

In a last ditch effort to protect those who may be deported under President Elect Trump’s immigration polices, several pro-immigrant leaders are pushing for a pardon for the estimated 11 million illegal aliens currently in the country.

Political director for PICO National Network, Bishop Dwayne Royster, said. “This is not a political issue; but rather a moral imperative. It’s time for President Obama to use his constitutional powers to protect vulnerable individuals and families and pardon communities from an administration intent on doing harm to those whom the bible calls, ‘the least of these’.”

Senator Releases List of Odd Things the Govt. Has Spent Your Taxpayer Dollars On

On Monday, the second annual “Federal Fumbles” report was released by Sen. James Lankford. (See full report here). The list details the absurdity of some of the things the United States government spends taxpayer money on. Lankford summarizes the list as “the federal government dropping the ball.” The report is about 154 pages long.

“For every one of these as we did last year, we’re focused on the same thing. We’re not just trying to raise the problem, we’re also trying to raise how do you solve it,” Lankford told reporters. He also pinpoints the four areas that serious government reform is needed for: oversight of grants, regulatory policy, agency inefficiency and lack of coordination between agencies.

Below are five listed bizarre areas that government taxpayer money was used for, highlighted by the Independent Journal Review:

MYSTERY: Is Canada PM Justin Trudeau son of Fidel Castro?

Many in the free world were taken aback by the stunningly sympathetic remembrance of Cuban dictator by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

In his statement, Trudeau expressed “deep sorrow” after learning of “the death of Cuba’s longest serving president,” CNN reported.

“Fidel Castro was a larger than life leader who served his people for almost half a century. A legendary revolutionary and orator, Mr. Castro made significant improvements to the education and healthcare of his island nation.”

He continued, “While a controversial figure, both Mr. Castro’s supporters and detractors recognized his tremendous dedication and love for the Cuban people who had a deep and lasting affection for ‘el Comandante.'”

Is there something more going on than a Canadian leftist mourning the death of the geriatric Cuban dictator?

New side-by-side photos and the documented history of Trudeau’s mother, Margaret Trudeau, are raising questions about whether Castro could be really the Canadian prime minister’s father.

Dictionary.com's word of the year is 'xenophobia'

You might have thought about it, heard it. A lot. You might have even felt it: Dictionary.com's word of the year is "xenophobia."

While it's difficult to get at exactly why people look words up in dictionaries, online or on paper, it's clear that in contentious 2016, fear of "otherness" bruised the collective consciousness around the globe.

The Brexit vote, police violence against people of color, Syria's refugee crisis, transsexual rights and the U.S. presidential race were among prominent developments that drove debate — and spikes in lookups of the word, said Jane Solomon, one of the dictionary site's lexicographers.

The 21-year-old site defined xenophobia as "fear or hatred of foreigners, people from different cultures, or strangers." And it plans to expand its entry to include fear or dislike of "customs, dress and cultures of people with backgrounds different from our own," Solomon said in a recent interview.

The latest victim is an 18-year-old who was shot dead in his vehicle at 2pm on Sunday, NBC reported.

Two gunmen outside a house party on Saturday night left one dead and five others injured, while another shooting killed a 16-year-old boy on Friday evening.

In October, Chicago surpassed 600 homicides this year, in numbers that have not been seen since 2003. There were 468 murders in 2015, and 416 the year before.

Podesta Group Failed To Disclose Lobbying For Foreign Government

A Beltway lobbying firm with close connections to Hillary Clinton has acknowledged that it failed to disclose work it did for the Indian government in 2014 and 2015.

The Podesta Group disclosed the lobbying activities in an amended filing submitted to the Justice Department earlier this month, the Washington Free Beacon reported on Monday.

The documents lists five separate contacts that Podesta Group chairman Tony Podesta, a prolific Hillary Clinton campaign donor, made with his brother and former business partner, John Podesta, to discuss U.S.-India relations in 2014 and 2015. During that period, John Podesta, who co-founded the Podesta Group with Tony in 1988, served as White House counselor and then as Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman.

The Podesta Group’s failure to disclose the lobbying was an apparent violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act. Under the law, which was enacted in the 1930s to prevent Nazis from planting propaganda in the U.S., lobbyists are required to disclose all lobbying activities carried out on behalf of foreign governments to the Justice Department.

Black Lives Matter Salutes Fidel Castro, ‘Grateful’ He Harbored an FBI Most-Wanted Terrorist

The Black Lives Matter movement has come out in support of Fidel Castro, following his death on Friday, saying they must “come to the defense of El Comandante” and thanking him for safeguarding Assata Shakur, who’s on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list.

The movement penned an article on Sunday titled “Lessons from Fidel: Black Lives Matter and the Transition of El Comandante” on the Medium platform where they eulogized the passing of the Cuban dictator. The article, which was not bylined, was Tweeted out by the closest thing there is to an official Black Lives Matter account and also posted on the movement’s semi-official Facebook page.

The article claims Castro’s death has caused “an overwhelming sense of loss, complicated by fear and anxiety.”

“Although no leader is without their flaws, we must push back against the rhetoric of the right and come to the defense of El Comandante,” it added.

The article continues by portraying Castro as a model freedom fighter, who Black Lives Matter should strive to follow and emulate.

Jill Stein Raises Millions for Recount, Source of Money Murky

Prior to the Thanksgiving Day holiday, failed Green Party candidate Jill Stein launched a fundraising effort to raise the millions needed to pay for a recount of election results in three of the key states that gave Donald Trump the White House, but the source of these millions of dollars is murky.

Just before the noon deadline on November 25, Stein filed an official petition for a recount in Wisconsin, one of at least three key states that gave Donald Trump a surprise win on Election Day, NBC reported on Friday.

Stein posted the fundraising message to the Internet after news broke that Clinton campaign chief John Podesta was meeting with supposed election experts who felt there may be evidence that election systems were hacked in the states that gave Trump the victory.

And as Hollywoodites reveled in the idea, Green Party nominee Jill Stein launched her fundraising effort to try to delegitimize Trump’s win and to raise the millions necessary to pay for recounts in at least three states: Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

Stein launched her effort to raise this money the day before Thanksgiving by asking supporters to help her raise up to $3 million to force a recount in Wisconsin, the state with the closest deadline to the date when she launched her fundraising effort.

Shockingly in only a day Stein had raised that three million. And on a holiday at that.

After her initial goal was met, Stein raised the stakes several times and even more millions rolled in. And all still over the Thanksgiving holiday. She is now claiming she needs seven million to fund recounts in all three states, an amount almost three times higher than her initial goal.

Critics wonder where all this money is coming from. How do we know if this money didn’t come from foreign sources? Further, what reporting requirements will Stein be forced to satisfy to prove the source of the cash?

A public park for ashes? As cremations soar, demand for scatter gardens grows.

Jennifer Beman wants to spend her death where she made her life, in her adopted home town of Takoma Park. Like others who have their cremated remains unofficially scattered in the Maryland city’s back yards and public parks, the 54-year-old likes the ashes-to-ashes idea of lingering eternally in her local ecosystem.

But Beman and a group of like-minded neighbors are going a step further than the kind of DIY ash-tossing that has grown common as cremation rates in the United States have doubled over the past 15 years. They are asking their city to set up the country’s first municipal “scatter garden,” a patch of memorial commons where residents could commingle in the soil of their burg — and where families could return to remember.

“Throwing them in the ocean is very romantic, but then there is no place for a person to go back to,” said Beman, a documentary filmmaker. “You can go with your kids and say, ‘I think it was somewhere around here, but maybe it was on the other side of the island.’ I like the idea of a real place.”

Shock Chart Reveals Number 1 Item Bought With Welfare Money Is Soft Drinks

Food stamp recipients aren’t buying necessities, and there’s government research to prove it.

CNS News reported that the No. 1 commodity bought by United States citizens using food stamps in 2011 was soft drinks. In addition, the amount spent on those soft drinks totaled $357,700,000 at only one “leading U.S. grocery retailer.”

On the other hand, citizens not receiving government assistance bought milk as their No. 1 commodity.

The study, based on food purchases at one unidentified food retailer in 2011 and released by the Food and Nutrition Service, revealed some other harrowing statistics.

“About 40 cents of every dollar of food expenditures by SNAP households was spent on basic items such as meat, fruits, vegetables, milk, eggs, and bread,” it said.

However, “another 20 cents out of every dollar was spent on sweetened beverages, desserts, salty snacks, candy and sugar,” items that are not necessary in daily life, or even unhealthy.

NFL considering pulling the plug on Thursday Night Football?

Nobody likes Thursday Night Football. The players and teams don’t like it because if the extremely short week and the toll that it takes on everybody involved. The fans don’t like it because the quality of play takes a noticeable dip from games that are played on Sundays because of the short week. And shoot, the networks probably don’t like it either because they have to pay an extra couple hundred million dollars for games that they could have the rights to air on Sundays.

But in Roger Goodell’s quest for world domination and putting the NFL on your televisions seven nights a week, Thursday Night Football has expanded into a full season’s worth of games. A few years ago, it was initially expanded to a half season as a ploy to put exclusive games on NFL Network and boost the league channel’s distribution and carriage fees. Then the league opened the games to the highest bidder and created not one but two televisionpackages and a Twitter deal. Now it’s impossible to remember week to week who’s broadcasting games between CBS, NBC, NFL Network, and Twitter.

Alas, with ratings taking a tumble this season and the complaints about Thursday Night Football getting louder, the NFL could finally be coming to the realization that less is more.

It's official: Michigan certifies Donald Trump's win

President-elect Trump's election victory in Michigan was certified Monday by the Michigan Board of Canvassers.

The board voted 4-0 to certify the state's election results Monday afternoon, and the final tally showed Trump with a total of 2,279,543 votes, while Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton got 2,268,839, a difference of just 10,704 votes. Behind the two front-runners were Libertarian Gary Johnson at 172,136 votes and the Green Party's Jill Stein at 51,463 votes.

Last week, the Michigan secretary of state posted vote counts certified at the county level from the contest that showed Trump with a 10,704 vote lead, but the count wasn't official until Monday. Michigan's 16 electoral votes deals Trump a total of 306 electoral votes to Clinton's 232. It was the closest presidential race in the state in more than 75 years, the Associated Press reported.

The state's 4.8 million votes may soon be getting another look, following media reports of alleged hacking or tampering in three swing states, including Michigan, though there is no hard evidence of any tampering of the results. Stein, with the support of Clinton, is leading a fundraising campaign to request recounts in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan. After raising millions of dollars, a recount is already underway in Wisconsin and Stein filed for another one in Pennsylvania on Monday.

Nearly 400 children rescued and 348 adults arrested in Canadian child pornography bust

Nearly 400 children have been rescued and 348 adults arrested following an expansive and “extraordinary” international child pornography investigation, Canadian police announced Thursday.

The three-year project, named Project Spade, began when undercover officers with the Toronto Police Service Child Exploitation service made contact with a Toronto man allegedly sharing “very graphic images” of child sexual abuse in Oct. 2010, Toronto Police Service Chief William Blair said at a press conference on Thursday.

Police said their investigation revealed an entire child movie production and distribution company in Toronto operating via the web site azovfilms.com.

The site was run by 42-year old Brian Way, according to police, and sold and distributed images of child exploitation to people across the world.

Critics point to the lack of minority-owned businesses among those named as finalists to grow and process pot.

The diversity consultant will determine if, and how, the commission could do a disparity study. The state is in a classic catch 22 situation. A racial disparity study could help put extra weight to minority applications. But the study can't be done until there is an industry to examine.

The commission gave preliminary license approval to 102 dispensaries. The panel also addressed criticism over the lack of diversity among those already named as finalists to grow and process medical marijuana.

FLASHBACK: Al Franken May Have Won His Senate Seat Through Voter Fraud

It looks increasingly likely that at least one member of the United States Senate may owe his seat in the world’s greatest deliberative body not to his charisma or the persuasiveness of his message but to voter fraud.

As the Wall Street Journal's John Fund reports, Minnesota Democrat Al Franken’s narrow, 312-vote victory in 2008 over incumbent Sen. Norm Coleman may have come as the result of people being allowed to vote who, under existing law, shouldn’t have been.

[See who gave the most to Franken.]

The certification of Franken as the victor came only after a series of recounts dragging out for almost half a year. It also sparked an investigation by Minnesota Majority, a conservative watchdog group that compared the list of those recorded as having voted in the election against what Fund calls “criminal rap sheets.” The group found, in what appears to clearly warrant further and official inquiry, that

… At least 341 convicted felons voted in Minneapolis's Hennepin County, the state's largest, and another 52 voted illegally in St. Paul's Ramsey County, the state's second largest. Dan McGrath, head of Minnesota Majority, says that only conclusive matches were included in the group's totals. The number of felons voting in those two counties alone exceeds Mr. Franken's victory margin.

Thus far no one is calling for the results to be overturned. Indeed Dan McGrath, who spearheaded the inquiry, told Fox News, "We aren't trying to change the result of the last election. That legally can't be done." He added: “We are just trying to make sure the integrity of the next election isn't compromised."

Trump’s Election Points to U.S. Growth Boost

President-elect Donald Trump’s big-spending plan and tax cuts are expected to help double the US economic growth rate by 2018, the OECD said Monday, revising its forecasts.

The US economy will grow by 2.3 percent in 2017 and 3.0 percent in 2018, said the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.

That compares to gross domestic product growth of 1.5 percent this year, according to the OECD.

The Republican property tycoon’s team has said he will devote $550 billion to rebuilding decrepit infrastructure.

The incoming president also campaigned on promises for major corporate tax cuts as part of a wide-ranging blueprint for the limping US economy.

“GDP is projected to return to a moderate growth trajectory in 2017 and strengthen in 2018, mainly due to the projected fiscal stimulus, which takes effect particularly in 2018,” the OECD said in its report.

Italian Firefighters

One dark night in the small town of Garfield , NJ, a fire started
inside the local sausage factory. In a blink the building was engulfed
in flames. The alarm went out to all the fire departments for miles around.

When the first volunteer fire fighters appeared on the scene, the
sausage company president rushed to the fire chief and said, 'All of our secret sausage recipes are in the vault in the center of the plant. They have to be saved, so I will donate $50,000 to the fire company that brings them out and delivers them to me.'

But the roaring flames held the firefighters off. Soon more fire
departments had to be called in because the situation became desperate.
As the firemen arrived, the president shouted out that the offer to
extricate the secret recipes was now $100,000 to the fire department
that could save them.

Suddenly from up the road, a lone siren was heard as another fire truck came into sight. It was the fire engine of the nearby Lodi, NJ volunteer fire department composed mainly of Italian firefighters over the age of 65.

To everyone's amazement, the little run-down fire engine, operated by these Italian firefighters, passed fire engines parked outside the
plant, and drove straight into the middle of the inferno. Outside, the
other firemen watched in amazement as the Italian old timers jumped off and began to fight the fire as if they were fighting to save their own lives. They stomped desperately on the flames with their feet. They tried to smother the conflagration with their coats and even their pants. They swung their shovels and axes with wild abandon. It was a sight to behold!

Within a short time, the Lodi old timers had extinguished the fire and
saved the secret recipes.

The grateful sausage company president joyfully announced that for such a superhuman accomplishment he was raising the reward to $200,000, and walked over to personally thank each of the brave elderly Italian firefighters.

A TV news crew rushed in after capturing the event on film. The 'on
camera' reporter asked the Italian fire chief, 'What are you going to do with all that money?'

'Wella,' said Pasquale De Luccinellavanti, the 75-year-old Fire Chief,
'de fursta tinga we gonna do isza fixa de brakes on dat fockinna truck!!'

OSU Attacker Was a Somali 'Refugee'

An Ohio State University student plowed a car into a campus crowd, then jumped out and started stabbing people with a butcher knife before being shot dead by police Monday morning, officials said.

Nine people were taken to hospitals after the ambush, but none of the injuries were considered life-threatening. The incident was initially reported as an "active shooter" situation, but the suspect did not shoot anyone.

A police officer was on the scene within a minute and killed the assailant. "He engaged the suspect and eliminated the threat," OSU Police Chief Craig Stone said.

Law enforcement officials told NBC News the suspect's name is Abdul Razaq Ali Artan, an 18-year-old student at the university. He was a Somali refugee who left his homeland with his family in 2007, lived in Pakistan and then came to the United States in 2014 as a legal permanent resident of the United States, officials said.

The motive was unknown, although law enforcement sources said Artan posted a rant on social media prior to the incident. Officials said the attack was clearly deliberate and may have been planned in advance.

"This was done on purpose," Stone said.

Officials said Artan was in the car by himself, but investigators are trying to determine if anyone else was involved in the planning.

Md. lawmaker renews call for seat belts on school buses after fatal Chattanooga crash

WASHINGTON — The Tennessee school bus that crashed a week ago killing six children has rekindled questions whether school buses should come equipped with seat belts.

Maryland Sen. Jim Brochin, D-Baltimore, whose school bus seat belt bill stalled last legislative session, hopes to reintroduce the measure at the start of the new General Assembly session in January.

“You got little kids that are enclosed basically in a steel cage. And when the bus violently swerves or gets in an accident, these kids become airborne and they’re susceptible to serious injury,” said Brochin

Wisconsin Rejects Hand Recount Mandate

Madison — The Wisconsin Elections Commission set a timetable Monday for a recount of the presidential election but rejected a request to require a count by hand made by Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who quickly responded that she would sue.

Also Monday, Stein filed a lawsuit in Pennsylvania to force a recount there and her supporters began filing recount requests at the precinct level there. Stein — who received just a tiny piece of the vote —also plans to ask for a recount in Michigan on Wednesday.

Unless Stein wins her lawsuit in Dane County Circuit Court, officials in each of Wisconsin’s 72 counties would decide on their own whether to do their recounts by hand. That could mean some counties perform recounts by machine and some by hand.

Texas Governor Will Ban Sanctuary Cities

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) is pledging to ban sanctuary cities in his state even as other governors and mayors promise to continue sheltering illegal immigrants.

"I'm going to sign a law that bans sanctuary cities," Abbott tweeted on Sunday.

"Also I've already issued an order cutting funding to sanctuary cities."

Abbott was responding to a Twitter user who questioned whether the Texas governor could do anything to reverse Austin's pledge to remain a sanctuary city.

Clinton lawyer wants GOP to stop North Carolina recount

Hillary Clinton's legal counsel gives some confusing advice.

Democratic super-lawyer Marc Elias, known for his expertise in recount and election law, has demanded Republican Gov. Pat McCrory drop his calls for a North Carolina recount, on behalf of the apparently victorious Democrat Roy Cooper.

Meanwhile, Elias is charging ahead on Clinton's behalf in an anticipated three-state recount that is far less likely to change the result of the presidential election.

Even after Clinton conceded and the Obama administration gave a clean bill of health to the presidential election, Elias announced that the Clinton campaign will participate in a recount. "It's fundamental to ensure that every vote is properly counted," he insisted on Saturday.

Not so in North Carolina. "Cooper's lead in NC is now 9,133," Elias tweeted Monday. "McCrory should concede."

Elias might be right that McCrory is trailing by too much to overcome, but the Clinton recount is obviously the more futile of the two. There's a legitimate contest going on in North Carolina, while there's only an effort to settle a political score at the national level. The math bears that out.

A Viewer Writes: Traffic Signal Malfunctioning

Joe

The traffic signal at US 13 and Connelly Mill Rd is not cycling properly. If you are waiting to make a left onto US 13 N or to cross US13 to the Subaru dealership, the signal just does not always cycle. I have seen this happen a number of times. I reported it to the SHA and they "repaired" it once. But it is still malfunctioning. They sent a repairman today to check it and it functioned properly, so as far as they are concerned, it is fixed.

I have seen dump-trucks driving across the intersection against red lights, and this is an accident waiting to happen. If others have experienced this light not cycling, please contact

Donald Trump and his Republican allies are 'ready to slash the federal work force, impose hiring freezes and halt automatic pay raises'

If President-elect Donald Trump and his Republican colleagues in Congress have their way, government employees will be easier to fire and they will have their pensions reduced, aides and lawmakers say.

The incoming administration and its allies on Capitol Hill are planning to try and trim the public sector work force, in line with campaign promises to roll back government benefits, The Washington Post reported on Monday.

With Republicans in control of both houses of the legislature as well as the executive branch, they now have a chance to enact reforms which federal employees once thought they were immune from, including lower pensions, hiring freezes, a halt to automatic raises, and a crackdown on publicly funded union business.

'You have the country moving to the right and being much more anti-Washington than it was,' former House speaker Newt Gingrich said.
