Dylann Roof’s motion was approved by a federal judge Monday. Roof, 22, was deemed competent to stand trial last week.
The Associated Press reported that Roof’s request came despite his lawyer’s advice. U.S. District Judge Richard Gergel said the decision was made reluctantly to accept Roof’s “unwise” decision.
Roof is charged in connection to the June 2015 attack at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church Charleston. Included in the charges are hate crimes and obstruction of religion.

ReplyDeleteWhat is stunning is the fact the state and Feds believed this man/kid lacked some mental capacity at one point to stand trial but now will allow for self-rep. Picture if you will, you are a viticm who escaped being questioned by the very person who made you a victim! Would you be a happy camper?

It was a very strange event.
I believe it was fake.
Wouldn't be at all surprised if it was a white flag incident to keep people ginned up over racial tensions. That's the way our government has maintained control for the last thirty years starting with Bush Sr. 517 May not be off the mark at all here. Not at all. 🤔
