Fourth Turning: Crisis Of Trust, Part 3
In Part 1 of this article I discussed the catalyst spark which ignited this Fourth Turning and the seemingly delayed regeneracy. In Part 2 I pondered possible Grey Champion prophet generation leaders who could arise during the regeneracy. In Part 3 I will focus on the economic channel of distress which is likely to be the primary driving force in the next phase of this Crisis.
There are very few people left on this earth who lived through the last Fourth Turning (1929 – 1946). The passing of older generations is a key component in the recurring cycles which propel the world through the seemingly chaotic episodes that paint portraits on the canvas of history. The current alignment of generations is driving this Crisis and will continue to give impetus to the future direction of this Fourth Turning. The alignment during a Fourth Turning is always the same: Old Artists (Silent) die, Prophets (Boomers) enter elderhood, Nomads (Gen X) enter midlife, Heroes (Millennials) enter young adulthood—and a new generation of child Artists (Gen Y) is born. This is an era in which America’s institutional life is torn down and rebuilt from the ground up—always in response to a perceived threat to the nation’s very survival.
For those who understand the theory, there is the potential for impatience and anticipating dire circumstances before the mood of the country turns in response to the 2nd or 3rd perilous incident after the initial catalyst. Neil Howe anticipates the climax of this Crisis arriving in the 2022 to 2025 time frame, with the final resolution happening between 2026 and 2029. Any acceleration in these time frames would likely be catastrophic, bloody, and possibly tragic for mankind. As presented by Strauss and Howe, this Crisis will continue to be driven by the core elements of debt, civic decay, and global disorder, with the volcanic eruption traveling along channels of distress and aggravating problems ignored, neglected, or denied for the last thirty years. Let’s examine the channels of distress which will surely sway the direction of this Crisis.

Governor Larry Hogan Announces Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Maryland
“Breast cancer and domestic violence are both serious problems that affect far too many people across Maryland and our nation,” Governor Hogan said. “It’s crucial that we raise awareness and educate the people of Maryland on the steps they can take and the resources we have available to help combat both of these issues.”
As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Maryland is recommending that women be screened regularly for breast cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer trails only skin cancers as the most common cancer among women in the United States. In 2015, about 4,730 Maryland women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and an estimated 810 will die of the disease.
ISIS Planning ‘Nuclear Tsunami’
Nuclear annihilation across the globe. This is what a German reporter who successfully embedded with the Islamic State says the terror group is planning. Jurgen Todenhofer released his findings in a book titled “Inside IS - Ten Days in the Islamic State,” reports the UK’s Daily Express.
“The terrorists plan on killing several hundred million people. The west is drastically underestimating the power of ISIS. ISIS intends to get its hands on nuclear weapons,” says Todenhofer, calling the group a “nuclear tsunami preparing the largest religious cleansing in history.”
“They now control land greater in size than the United Kingdom and are supported by an almost ecstatic enthusiasm the like of which I’ve never encountered before in a war zone. Every day hundreds of willing fighters from all over the world come. They are the most brutal and most dangerous enemy I have ever seen in my life. I don’t see anyone who has a real chance to stop them. Only Arabs can stop ISIS. I came back very pessimistic.”

Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford Announces Statewide, Student-Based Addiction Prevention Campaign
Public Education Campaign Is a Product of Heroin Task
Force Interim Report
ANNAPOLIS, MD – Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford, joined by Interim State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jack Smith, today launched a statewide, student-based public education prevention campaign to combat heroin and opioid addiction with students at Towson High School in Baltimore County. The campaign stems from a recommendation made by the Heroin and Opioid Emergency Task Force in its interim report, released last month.“Education campaigns, like the one we are announcing today, are a vital component of a comprehensive strategy to combat drug abuse and addiction,” said Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford. “Prescription drug abuse in particular is on the rise among young people because they think it’s safer than heroin or other drugs. We need to open up this dialogue as early as possible and start educating kids at a young age.”
Lt. Governor Rutherford was joined by students in the Project Citizen program at Towson High, part of the school’s Law and Public Policy Magnet Program. Each year, students in the Project Citizen program pick a local issue to analyze and present possible solutions to a panel of lawmakers and public officials. Following the presentation, the lieutenant governor spoke with ninth- and 10th-grade students about risk, identification, treatment, and prevention.
Cultural Surrenderists
While many believe the most dangerous people in the world today are Islamic fanatics, they are mistaken. The pale in comparison to the Cultural Surrenderists (CS).
The Cultural Surrenderists — on both sides of the Atlantic — are those who believe Western culture is something for which they owe the world an ongoing apology. That apology manifests itself in a number of ways, the foremost of which are the contemptible concepts known as multiculturalism and diversity. Both of them are based on the idea that all cultures, customs, religions and belief systems are equally viable, and that no one societal ethos is better than any other.
Of course, none of these CSers can reconcile that ridiculous assertion with the inconvenient reality that millions upon millions of people are beating a path to both Western Europe and the United States at unprecedented levels. Somehow we’re supposed to believe that a de-facto narco state like Mexico, a bloodthirsty dictatorship like Syria, a nihilistic theocracy like Iran, or the various hellholes that dot the horn of Africa are essentially interchangeable with democratic republics at the forefront of enlightened thinking, the rule of law, equal rights for women and minorities, and some of the highest standards of living in the world.
The first casualty of such intellectual bankruptcy is assimilation...

Condemned Berlin Home’s Fate Unresolved For Now; Demolition Possible
BERLIN – What’s next?
That’s the question Washington Street residents are asking following a meeting of the town’s housing board of review that left the issue of the condemned and dilapidated home at 203 Washington St. unresolved. While some neighbors of the historic home want to see it saved, town officials say it’s headed toward demolition if it’s not brought up to code immediately.
“We don’t want it torn down. We just want it compliant with the code,” Washington Street resident Tom Sholtis said.
Sholtis was one of close to 20 town residents in attendance at Wednesday’s meeting of the Berlin Housing Board of Review. The board, which was defunct for nearly a decade, was recently reconvened to address a number of derelict homes within the town. The first case it considered was 203 Washington St., an 1878 home owned by Teresa Almony and Gary Lerner for the past three decades.

House Panel Votes to Scrap Obamacare Mandates
The House Ways and Means Committee moved Tuesday to chip away at Obamacare by using a fast-track budget tool to repeal the law’s most unpopular taxes and provisions, including the mandate requiring Americans to hold insurance.
Chairman Paul Ryan said the tool, known as reconciliation, offered congressional Republicans their best chance to voice their objections to the Affordable Care Act of 2010, as they only need majority support in the Senate to send a bill to the White House.
“It would dismantle this unworkable law,” Mr. Ryan, Wisconsin Republican, said of his panel’s recommendations.
The panel voted along party lines, 23-14, to repeal insurance mandates on individuals and large employers and levies on medical devices and generous health care plans. It also voted by voice to scrap a panel set up under the health law to rein in Medicare costs.
Democrats used reconciliation to help pass Obamacare in 2010, although Mr. Obama would still maintain a veto over whatever repeal bill Congress passes this time around. Still, the GOP wants to prove it can repeal Obamacare with a Republican president in 2017 even if they cannot win a filibuster-proof majority of 60 votes in the Senate.

Delaware woman wins big on ‘The Price is Right’
FELTON — The town of Felton got a new celebrity Tuesday when resident Imogene Tonnesen won the grand prize package in the Showcase Showdown on the long-running CBS game show “The Price Is Right.”
On the program that was taped in early July, Ms. Tonnesen, 86, won a $2,500 shopping spree trip to Buenos Aires, an additional $2,500 and a hardtop Mini Cooper.
The Mini Cooper was actually the second automobile that she won on the episode, having already acquired a Chevrolet Cruze LX while playing the show’s “Pocket Change” game.
She also bid correctly on a car audio system, which got her up on stage to play the pricing game with host Drew Carey

Ben Carson shatters records with $20M raised for campaign
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Political newcomer Ben Carson raised more than $20 million in the past three months to fuel his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, his campaign said Wednesday, a haul of campaign cash that shatters records and sets a new bar for his GOP rivals.
As other campaigns scrambled to bring in final donations before the end of the fundraising period at midnight, Carson’s senior team celebrated its massive haul at its suburban Washington campaign headquarters.
Two dozen staffers shared a red, white and blue chocolate cake topped with frosted numbers “$31,000,000” — the total amount the retired neurosurgeon’s campaign has raised since he launched his White House bid in May.

While 50 percent of all grads "strongly agree" that college was worth the cost, only 38 percent of graduates since 2006 can say the same:

Lawyers Ask Judge To Force Prosecutors To Release Freddie Gray Evidence
BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Lawyers for the six officers charged in Freddie Gray’s death asked the judge to force prosecutors to turn over evidence. They claim prosecutors have been sitting on key witness statements.
Denise Koch reports the accusation comes in a new court filing, according to our media partners at the Baltimore Sun.
The attorneys for six Baltimore police officers in the Freddie Gray case are calling for the court to sanction prosecutors in a new court filing obtained by the Baltimore Sun.
The defense claims prosecutors are just turning over evidence that should have been provided weeks ago, like witness statements that Gray was “losing his mind” in the police van, “kicking the inner door and aggressively shaking.”

Gulf War Veterans: The Finer Details on Undiagnosed Illnesses
The VA is required to grant service connection to a veteran who served in Southwest Asia from August 2, 1990 onward and has an undiagnosed illness. So what exactly is an “undiagnosed illness” according to the VA?
VA regulations provide that the following symptoms are symptoms of an undiagnosed illness: “fatigue, unexplained rashes or other dermatological signs or symptoms, headache, muscle pain, joint pain, neurological signs and symptoms, neurophysical signs or symptoms involving the upper or lower respiratory system, sleep disturbances, gastrointestinal signs or symptoms, cardiovascular signs or symptoms, abnormal weight loss, and menstrual disorders.” The symptoms of an undiagnosed illness must have been in existence for at least 6 months. The 6 month period starts at the earliest date the veteran’s symptoms showed. Also, the veteran’s symptoms must have revealed themselves during the veteran’s Gulf War service, or the symptoms must have become at least 10% disabling during a certain period of time called the presumptive period. Currently, the presumptive period for Gulf War veterans goes to December 31, 2016.
How does a veteran go about proving that they suffer from symptoms of an undiagnosed illness? Evidence of the symptoms listed above can come from an examining physician, but it does not have to. Veterans can also use buddy statements to provide evidence that they are suffering from an undiagnosed illness as long as the symptoms that are described in the buddy statement are symptoms that are identifiable by an ordinary person (someone who is not a doctor). For example, let’s say that a veteran returned from Iraq and was suffering from knee pain. If his family or friends observed him having this pain, they could provide a written statement. The statement provided by the veteran’s family or friends can describe things like: when his knee pain began, how long it lasted, and how severe the veteran’s pain was. Other non-medical evidence that can be used by a veteran suffering from an undiagnosed illness includes: showing time lost from work, evidence that they sought medical treatment for their symptoms, and evidence that shows changes in the veteran’s appearance, physical abilities, and mental or emotional attitude.
The symptoms that a veteran is suffering from must not be the result of any known clinicaldiagnosis. However, just because a veteran has symptoms that are also symptoms of a known diagnosis does not mean the veteran doesn’t have an undiagnosed illness. For example, consider a veteran who is having heart problems. The heart problems he is having are associated with coronary artery disease. However, when the veteran goes to the doctor they tell him he does not have coronary artery disease. This veteran’s symptoms are the result of an undiagnosed illness. So, if a Gulf War veteran’s doctor is unable to link the veteran’s disabling symptoms to a medical diagnosis, the veteran may be able to qualify for service connection under the VA’s undiagnosed illness provision.

Maryland State Police and Department of Transportation Collect 27,734 Pounds of Food During Hunger Action Month
27,734 pounds of donated food, which is the equivalent of 23,112 meals. The loaded vehicles convened at the food bank locations in order to deliver and weigh donations gathered during Hunger Action Month.
“It’s absolutely incredible how much we can accomplish when we work together toward a common goal,” said Maryland Food Bank President & CEO Deborah Flateman. “We are truly grateful to the Maryland State Police, the Department of Transportation, and all those who contributed to this year’s food drive. Ending hunger may take work, but today, we’re reminded that it’s not out of reach!”
Throughout September, food donations were collected at all Maryland State Police barracks as well as select Maryland Department of Transportation offices statewide. An online option to donate through the food bank’s virtual food drive platform added to the food drive’s success, allowing supporters to designate
specific food items to be purchased with their cash donations.
The Stunning "Explanation" An Insurance Company Just Used To Boost Health Premiums By 60%
It may not have been easy for Blue Cross Blue Shield to admit to their clients their premiums are set to rise by 60% due to Supreme Court-mandated tax known as "Obamacare" but it would have been the right thing.
Instead, in justifying the boost to the two-month medical premium from $867 to $1.365, the health insurer decided to use the following excuse: "With advances in medical technology, prescription drugs and ways to treat injuries and illnesses, Americans are living healthier lives. [i.e., living longer] Because of these changes, we must adjust your premium to stay in line with increased costs."

32nd Annual Governor’s Service Awards to Honor Volunteers
Fifteen Marylanders to be Recognized for Service
BALTIMORE, MD – The Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism (GOSV) today announced the 15 Maryland residents who have been selected to receive Governor’s Service Awards. The recipients will be honored this Friday, October 2, 2015, during a special ceremony at the Miller Senate Office Building in Annapolis with First Lady Yumi Hogan and five-time All Star, Baltimore Orioles Center Fielder Adam Jones. This year marks the 32nd year a Maryland governor has recognized volunteers from around the state. The recipients reflect the diversity of Maryland and demonstrate our spirit of service. Over the past year, more than 1.3 million Marylanders have helped tackle some of the major challenges facing the state through the donation of their time and energy.
"Without volunteerism, it’d be impossible for many of our community organizations to do the wide range of crucial work they do, including feeding the hungry, protecting the Chesapeake Bay, and mentoring the next generation," Governor Larry Hogan said. "This year’s honorees are heroes because they strengthen our communities and make us a stronger state."
GOP, Let Obama Shut It Down and Own It
Establishment Republicans inside and outside Washington miss the grassroots' point. Even if we don't eventually prevail with defunding Planned Parenthood, we need to take this issue to the American people.
Establishment types believe that just as we are finally poised to recapture the White House, crazy tea party extremists are about to mess everything up because voters would blame and punish the GOP in 2016 for a shutdown.
But they always tell us to wait until the next election. When we didn't control the House, they told us to wait until we did. Same with the Senate. Now they say we have to wait until Jeb Bush is president.
They've cried wolf so long that conservatives no longer believe them. The conservatives aren't idiots. They knew when they elected these majorities that they would have great difficulty advancing the conservative agenda with President Obama in office. But they didn't expect them not to even try.
Yet the Republican leadership doesn't put up a fight, and establishment pundits go along with this surrendering. These are the same people who are apoplectic over the rise of Donald Trump. They can't understand how conservatives would support a man they believe is not conservative.
But what have their establishment darlings done to promote conservatism? Many Trump supporters believe that Trump gets it and will fight for them. They know the establishment won't.
The Trump phenomenon aside, I can't understand the establishment's resignation in assuming Republicans would automatically lose the PR battle over any federal government shutdown.
These folks said we'd lose the congressional elections if Ted Cruz fought for a shutdown over defunding Obamacare, but a year later, Republicans won stunning congressional victories. The establishment predictably responded that we won precisely because time had passed and people had moved on to other issues.
Nonsense.

Burned as baby, woman finally meets nurse who cared for her
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — For 38 years, a few black-and-white photographs of a nurse cradling a baby provided comfort to a woman who suffered terrible burns and endured years of playground taunts and painful surgeries thereafter. For all that time, until Tuesday, she dreamed of meeting her again.
The photos show Amanda Scarpinati at just 3 months old, her head thickly wrapped in gauze, resting calmly in the nurse's arms. Shot for the Albany Medical Center's 1977 annual report, the images have a beatific, "Madonna and Child" quality.
As a baby, she had rolled off a couch onto a boiling steam vaporizer. Melted mentholated ointment scalded her skin. The burns would require many reconstructive surgeries over the years.
The photos helped.

Sotomayor: ‘Do As I Say, Not As I Do’
How would you like a free butler, maid, chef and chauffeur? Try that and the Department of Labor will sue you for violating the minimum wage, overtime and record-keeping requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act — unless you are Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
That’s right. Since 2010, she has hired unpaid interns as her servants. No other justice does this.
Justice Sotomayor’s job description, posted on a Latino Facebook page and other places, tells us that applicants do not need a law degree, but “a driver’s license is a must” because the intern’s duties will include running “errands outside of the Courthouse.” The intern will prepare “lunch and snacks for the Justice,” photocopy, and answer the phone. The intern is responsible for his own living arrangements and transportation. She pays them nothing.
Whether Sonia Sotomayor is abusing her position as a justice by leveraging that appointment to secure free butlers is an important question of judicial ethics. A more prosaic question is whether she is violating U.S. labor laws, including the requirements of a minimum wage. It turns out that the answer is yes.

Carson: Blacks Have Been Manipulated By Politicians, Media
Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson says traditional politicians have long maneuvered African-American voters for their own ends.
“I think American blacks over the course of next year will begin to see that they’ve been manipulated very, very largely,” he told radio host Mike Gallagher on Tuesday.
“[It is] people telling them what they’re supposed to think and what they’re supposed to say,” Carson said. “I believe that is a dynamic that is in the process of changing.”
“More and more, I’m finding, are thinking for themselves and what works for themselves and their communities,” added Carson, who is African-American.
Carson argued the political establishment’s control over any voting demographic stems largely from media bias.
“I long for the day when the media realizes that the reason that they’re the only business that is protected by the Constitution is because it is intended to be for the people,” he said.
“They weren’t supposed to pick sides.”

Every Minute, Someone Gets Arrested for Marijuana Possession in the U.S.
Growing marijuana can earn you a blue ribbon at the D.C. State Fair -- and an arrest record just about everywhere else
The nation’s law enforcement agencies are still arresting people for marijuana possession at near record-high rates, according to the latest national data released today by the FBI. In 2014, at least 620,000 people were arrested for simple pot possession — that’s 1,700 people per day, or more than 1 per minute. And that number is an undercount, because a handful of states either don’t report arrest numbers to the FBI, or do so only on a limited basis.

Zachary A. Shanor, 26, of Brooklyn Park, is charged with six counts of malicious destruction of property and was being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
One of the spray-painted messages was several hundred feet from Shanor’s home, according to Anne Arundel County police.
Investigators identified Shanor as the culprit from surveillance camera footage and help from community members.

Average American Worker Earns Less Today Than 40 Years Ago
Inflation explodes, salaries do not
Because most everything we buy gets more expensive over time, we have to earn more money each year just to maintain our existing standard of living.
When we’re not given raises that keep up with this rate of inflation, we’re effectively suffering a pay cut.

John Boehner: Then and Now
The announcement by House Speaker John Boehner that he is retiring at the end of October stunned Washington where life is all about grabbing power and holding on to it, often until death they do part.
At a meeting with reporters, Boehner said, “My first job as speaker is to protect the institution.”
Really? Is that why Ohio voters sent him to Washington in 16 elections and his Republican colleagues elected and re-elected him speaker? Did he take an oath to preserve, protect and defend the institution of the House or the Constitution, which, if followed, offers protection enough?
In 2010, I interviewed Boehner when he was minority leader and I asked him to cite the most important lesson he learned when Republicans lost their hard-won House majority in 2006. He replied, “Our team failed to live up to our own principles.”
Failing to live up to GOP principles, indeed, failing to articulate what those principles are, was largely the reason for the increase in conservative members who then demanded either action or the speaker’s head. They got his head. Whether that means his successor will do a better job is open to question.
On July 28, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) expressed the frustration of many conservatives by filing a “motion to vacate the chair,” for the purpose of ousting Boehner from the speakership. Meadows' resolution charged Boehner with using “the power of the office to punish Members who vote according to their conscience instead of the will of the speaker,” providing for “voice votes on consequential and controversial legislation to be taken without notice and with few Members present,” using “the legislative calendar to create crises for the American People, in order to compel Members to vote for legislation” and failing to comply with “the spirit of the rules of the House of Representatives, which provide that Members shall have three days to review legislation before voting.” That last one had been a promise made by Republicans, should voters return them to a congressional majority.

I Ate Like A Prisoner For A Week — Here's What Happened
Brent Koster has spent most of his life in Michigan State prisons. Being practically raised on prison food, he has seen the rise and fall of its quality as it’s moved from public to private food services. He’s one of the roughly 30 kitchen workers, and from behind that food line he watches juvenile delinquents, no younger than he was when he entered the system, stand in uniform cafeteria lines waiting to be served.
“I hate to admit it, but I have a number of years in, 43 years actually,” Koster, who was convicted of murder in 1973, told Medical Daily. “I went through a number of food transitions and it used to be pretty good. But when the state went through the budget cuts, it got progressively worse and worse and worse.”
The meatballs hurt his stomach, the chicken patties are indistinguishable from the fish dishes, and the inmates have come to “affectionately call the bologna cow tongue.”

Britain's Cameron slams Obama
British Prime Minister David Cameron challenged President Obama with some blunt talk on Islamist extremism Tuesday during a U.N. summit to develop an international strategy for defeating the Islamic State and other terrorist groups.
Well aware that Mr. Obama shuns the term “Islamist extremists,” Mr. Cameron reacted strongly at the meeting when the president advised the assembled foreign leaders to avoid profiling Muslims because “violent extremism is not unique to any one faith.”
“Barack, you said it and you’re right — every religion has its extremists,” Mr. Cameron said. “But we have to be frank that the biggest problem we have today is the Islamist extremist violence that has given birth to ISIL, to al Shabaab, to al Nusra, al Qaeda, and so many other groups.” ISIL is an acronym for the Islamic State, also sometimes referred to as ISIS or Daesh.
“We need to make sure we don’t allow the incubation of an extremist world view even before it gets to justifying violence,” Mr. Cameron said. “We’ve got to get it out of our schools, get it out of our prisons, get it out of our universities. I believe in freedom of speech, but freedom to hate is not the same thing.”

Former Lawmaker Gets 6 Months In Jail For Breaking Probation
BALTIMORE (WJZ)–Former Maryland State Delegate Don Dwyer is spending the next 6 months in jail after being sentenced today for violating his probation.
WJZ’s Pat Warren has more on Dwyer’s case.
In 2012 Don Dwyer crashes his boat into another vessel on the Magothy River, injuring 6 people, four of them children, and himself.
A year later Dwyer gets charged again, this time for drunk driving.
“You fall off the wagon. That’s what happened essentially between the time of my boat accident and my DUI charge,” Dwyer told WJZ during a previous interview. “I will never again get behind the wheel of a vehicle if I have been drinking. Odds are I probably won’t drink another drop of alcohol as long as I live because it almost killed me and it certainly almost destroyed my career.”

Rand: My Tax Plan The Only One That Eliminates Payroll Tax, Trump's 'Will Continue A Lot of The Cronyism'
Kentucky Senator and Republican presidential candidate
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) touted his tax plan over those of his GOP rivals on Tuesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Wolf.”
Asked about fellow Republican candidate Donald Trump’s tax plan, Rand stated, “I think my tax plan is better. I get rid of all 70,000 pages of the tax code. I have one single rate, 14.5% for individuals, and 14.5% for corporations. I also do something that no other tax plan does, and I get rid of the payroll tax. So, every working class American will have a couple thousand dollars left in their paycheck. So, I like our plan better. It’s simpler. His plan will continue a lot of the cronyism, and a lot of the special interest politics that go with the tax code. Ours would eliminate all of that, and you can file your tax return on one single postcard.”

Pruden: The Hunting of Ben Carson
The civility and good manners crowd is attempting to destroy Ben Carson, but so far it isn’t working. He said something about Muslim presidential candidates that was harsh but a mile this side of over-the-top, and instead of a ride out of town on a rusty rail he watched his numbers spike.
Being nice to others is always a good thing — it’s about time that someone stood up for manners — but the doc has rights, too. Free speech is one of them.
What he actually said about whether he could support a Muslim candidate for president has been lost in the noisy uproar over a quiet and measured observation about reality in America and the world. If he had actually said that Muslims should not be allowed to run for president, as he has been widely quoted as saying, he would deserve criticism and perhaps even demands that he quit the race. But he didn’t say that.
In such an uproar, promoted by those who can’t be bothered by looking and listening to what the man actually said, only the narrative is important.
A reporter asked Mr. Carson whether he thinks Shariah law, the governing legal code set down in the Koran, the holy book of Muslims worldwide, is consistent with the U.S. Constitution.
“No,” he said, “I do not.”
That’s the answer that almost any jackleg lawyer or jackleg judge would have said to anyone who asks.

The Mystery of Hillary's Missing Millions
Since Bill and Hillary Clinton left the White House in 2001, they have earned more than $230 million. But in federal filings the Clintons claim they are worth somewhere between $11 million and $53 million. After layering years of disclosures on top of annual tax returns, Forbes estimates their combined net worth at $45 million. Where did all of the money go? No one seems to know, and the Clintons aren’t offering any answers.
From 2001 to 2014 the power couple spent $95 million on taxes. Hillary’s 2008 presidential run cost her $13 million. Their two homes cost a combined $5 million, and the Clintons have given away $22 million to charity. All of this is according to FEC filings, property records and years of tax returns. Add it up and you get $135 million. If the Clintons made $230 million, spent $135 million and have just $45 million left over, what happened to the other $50 million?
“That’s kind of strange,” says Joe Biden’s accountant, Walter Deyhle. “You have to report all of your assets. You have to report assets that are owned by your spouse.”

(CNSNews) - Fifty-two percent of Americans believe that most members of the U.S. Congress are corrupt and 32 percent believe the member who represents them is corrupt, according to a Gallup survey released today.
In a similar Gallup survey released nine days ago, 75 percent of Americans said they believe corruption is widespread throughout government in the United States.
Seventy-nine percent of the Americans surveyed told Gallup they believe that members of Congress are generally out of touch with average Americans. Only 20 percent said they believe most members of Congress are generally in touch with average Americans.

Jeb! Donors Now at Panic Level '6 or 7'
Jeb Bush’s donors are getting scared and may jump ship if a $25 million advertising campaign in October doesn’t bump up his poll numbers, says a new Politico article.
“If this $25 million doesn’t move numbers, in two weeks, that’s when you’re going to see panic set in,” a donor told Politico.
“Another Bush donor invited to [Bush headquarters in] Miami, assessing the state of anxiety within Bush’s operation on a scale of 1 to 10, put the panic level at a “6 or 7.”
“Are some people nervous? Of course. Some people are always nervous,” one of Bush’s biggest donors, also speaking anonymously, said. “And things don’t look really good right now…if the election were tomorrow, we’d be s–tting bricks. But the election isn’t tomorrow. We have time. And we have the experience on our side. No one [else] has the campaign, the infrastructure that Jeb has. And no one [else] has the money.”

New Maryland laws go into effect Oct. 1
BALTIMORE —A slew of new laws go into effect in Maryland on Oct. 1. The laws address everything from hit-and-run suspects to increasing highway speed limits.
One new law will make medicine that reverses heroin overdoses available without a prescription. In Baltimore City that's a big deal.
Last year, 303 people died from heroin and opioid overdoses, while the number of homicides was 211.
Civil immunity protections will be expanded to first responders, police and others who administer the heroin and opioid overdose-reversing drug naloxone.
Another law creates a standing order that will allow people to get the antidote without a prescription.

Bill Clinton revives an old conspiracy tale as he prepares to hit the trail
Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton have long believed in a unified-field theory about their opponents — one that she memorably dubbed a “vast right-wing conspiracy.” And they have their own theory of the moment it all began.
The former president, who is about to take a more visible role in his wife’s presidential campaign, told the tale again in a broadcast over the weekend in which he described getting a menacing phone call from inside the George H.W. Bush White House.
It was 1991, as the then-Arkansas governor was mulling whether to challenge a popular incumbent president, he said.
The caller said, “We’ve looked at the field. You’re the only one who can win,” Clinton recalled in an interview with Fareed Zakaria on CNN. “The press has to have someone every election. We’re going to give them you. You better not run.”

Streisand Pens Fundraising Plea For Senate Democrats
Actress and longtime Democratic activist Barbra Streisand has lent her name to a fundraising plea from the Senate Democrats’ campaign arm, writing that people like the Koch brothers are already putting in money in the race for the White House and in U.S. Senate contests in 2016.
“It’s me, Barbra. (Really.),” reads the email from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) sent Tuesday. “I’m passionate about politics because I believe that everyone in this country has the right to a fair shot and a decent standard of living.”
Republicans, though, only care about “limiting women’s choices and making the rich ever richer,” says the pitch, which came with the subject line “it’s truly scary.”

Economic Stimulus Cost US Savers Trillions of Dollars
Federal Reserve data reveals that its post-crash interest-rate manipulation “economic stimulus” actually stripped American savers of trillions of dollars by forcing down interest rates.
The Federal Reserve cost American savers — usually older Americans — more than $550 billion per year in lost interest-income, and will likely cost young taxpayers much more once President Barack Obama’s huge government debts have to be repaid at normal interest rates, said Seeking Alpha’s financial analyst, Peter Knight.
Banks normally pay interest on deposits close to the consumer price index. But since 2010, the deposit rate has been far below the CPI, in what amounts to the longest period ofnegative rate of return in U.S. history. The Federal Reserve’s “economic stimulus” was really “interest rate suppression,” said Knight.
The federal reserve’ stimulus was launched alongside Congress’s better-known 2009 spending stimulus.

Lew Rockwell Calls for Grassroots Campaign to Draft Ron Paul for House Speaker
Noting that the House of Representatives can elect a speaker from outside its own ranks, Ludwig von Mises Institute founder Lew Rockwell has called for a grassroots movement demanding that former Congressman Ron Paul be elected to speaker of the House.
Ludwig von Mises Institute founder Lew Rockwell published a blog post on Saturday calling for a grassroots campaign to pressure the U.S. House of Representatives to elect former Congressman and libertarian icon Ron Paul to the position of House speaker.
According to Rockwell, Ron Paul Peace and Prosperity Institute executive director Daniel McAdams, who also served as Dr. Paul’s foreign affairs adviser during his time in Congress, says the U.S. House of Representatives is not required to elect one of its current members to serve as speaker. Consequently, Dr. Paul, who retired from Congress in January of 2013, could in theory be eligible to be elected to lead the House.
A Facebook page dedicated to promoting the election of Ron Paul to House speaker, which was created in 2010, saw new activity this week in response to the buzz around Rockwell’s call.
Current House Speaker John Boehner announced last Friday that he will step down from his position next month, which will leave a vacancy.
In comments on last Friday’s Ron Paul Liberty Report, which was published prior to Rockwell’s blog post, Dr. Paul discussed Boehner’s pending resignation and commented on some of the representatives that are rumored to be in contention to replace him.

In comments on last Friday’s Ron Paul Liberty Report, which was published prior to Rockwell’s blog post, Dr. Paul discussed Boehner’s pending resignation and commented on some of the representatives that are rumored to be in contention to replace him.

Old Facebook Privacy Policy Hoax Returns
Don’t trust your Facebook friends. There’s a viral rumor circulating on the popular social media site that has scared users into sharing a Facebook status about privacy settings -- except it’s not true.
It might look something like this:
“Better safe than sorry is right. Channel 13 News was just talking about this change in Facebook's privacy policy. Better safe than sorry. As of September 26th , 2015 at 01:16 a.m. Eastern standard time, I do not give Facebook or any entities associated with Facebook permission to use my pictures, information, or posts, both past and future. By this statement, I give notice to Facebook it is strictly forbidden to disclose, copy, distribute, or take any other action against me based on this profile and/or its contents. The content of this profile is private and confidential information. The violation of privacy can be punished by law (UCC 1-308- 1 1 308-103 and the Rome Statute). NOTE: Facebook is now a public entity. All members must post a note like this. If you prefer, you can copy and paste this version. If you do not publish a statement at least once it will be tactically allowing the use of your photos, as well as the information contained in the profile status updates. DO NOT SHARE. You MUST copy and paste.”
It’s actually a hoax that has been around -- and debunked -- for a while. The idea is that Facebook users must post the status so that their pictures and information still belong to them. But in truth, anything posted to Facebook belongs to the user, regardless of any status update.

The Red Baron... newly released film
The following is a very rare piece of film, 100 years old. It shows Baron Von Richthofen, doing an external prior to a mission, as well as his putting on a flying suit prior to flight in cold weather. If you look close you will notice Hermann Goering.
The Baron was shot down on 21 April 1918 by Roy Brown of the Royal Navy Air Services, a prelude of the R.A.F.. The Aussie's also claim that one of their machine gunners on the ground shot the Baron down. UK & Aussie Doctors, after the autopsy stated that the fatal bullet was shot from above.
The author of this has been very involved as a Director of the Roy Brown Museum ,in Carleton Place, the home town of Roy. many letters have been written over the past 3-4 years, and finally Roy Brown was inducted into Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame on 4 June 2015.
…To think this film almost 100 years old! If you're interested in history or aviation, you cannot miss this footage. It was just posted online, and I've never seen anything like it. Troopers Investigate a Home Invasion in Seaford
Seaford, DE – Troopers are investigating a home invasion that occurred in Seaford late Monday night.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:10 p.m. Monday September 28, 2015 in the unit block of North Street Extension as a 31 year old male was in his shower when he heard a noise and was then confronted in the bathroom by two black males and a black female. All three suspects were armed with unknown type handguns and pulled the 31 year old from the shower. The victim was then thrown to the ground and kicked multiple times before being struck in the face with a gun and then had his hands tied behind his back. The subjects then demanded the victim’s money, which was located in his pants pocket, and removed an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects then fled out of a rear door to the house in an unknown direction. The 31 year old was not injured in the incident and did not request any immediate medical attention.
The two male suspects were described as being 5’10” – 6’00” tall dressed in all black clothing with black masks and gloves. Washington Post Fact Checker Confirms Carly Fiorina’s ‘Secretary to CEO’ Life Story
Thanks to some superb reporting courtesy of the fact checkers at The Washington Post, the most compelling part of Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina’s biography — her rise from secretary to CEO — has been fully confirmed.
Frequently, and for obvious reasons, Fiorina talks about her incredible rise from a part-time secretary at a real estate firm to CEO of Hewlett Packard, one of the most powerful corporations in the world.
Before confirming that her life story is 100% accurate, Washington Post fact-checker Michelle Ye Hee Lee gives us numerous examples of Fiorina relating her life story:
More“I started as a secretary, typing and filing for a nine-person real estate firm. It’s only in this country that you can go from being a secretary to chief executive of the largest tech company in the world, and run for president of the United States. It’s only possible here.”— Business executive Carly Fiorina (R), interview on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Sept. 21, 2015“My story, from secretary to CEO, is only possible in this nation, and proves that everyone of us has potential.”— Fiorina, second GOP debate, Sept. 16, 2015“A self-made woman, she started her business career as a secretary and went on to become the first, and to date, the only woman to lead a Fortune 20 company.”— Fiorina’s biography on her 2010 campaign Web site for U.S. Senate seat in California
